[Solved] Open Browser without menus and toolbar

Hi,
does anyone know of any browser that i can open from the command line, so that it has no menus and toolbars? (or a way to achieve that with firefox?)
What i wanna do is to start some dialog on system startup that displays an image, like a calvin and hobbes comic strip, and it would be great if i could style that display through html etc.

uzbl looks great, i will surely find some use for that, though as i didn't manage to change the screen size with the --geometry flag (why that is i can't figure out) i am now using feh to just display an image. but nonetheless uzbl is a great tipp, thanks

Changing the size of fonts in InDesign's menus and toolbars?

Is it possible to change the size of fonts in InDesign's menus and toolbars? I'd love for the Control Panel at the top to be a bit easier to read.

Thanks Bob, didn't see it anywhere but figured it was worth asking. I think the size is a little biased toward people with better vision than me but I guess I'll have to live with that.

Issues regarding customizing Menus and toolbars

First i would like to know how i can move the tabs back to below the navigation bar yet still above the bookmarks toolbar.
Secondly i cannot return the search bar back to the position it was originally before the latest update and if i try to move it anywhere else it become way too large, also the search bar does not have the small blue google symbol on the right side and it no longer says google search.
If there is no way to change these setting can you please give e directions on how to uninstall the latest update so i can return to my original format as i find it very annoying that every time i update firefox it changer everything and each time has removed customization ability which is supposed to be a prominent feature of firefox.

SEARCH BAR
In fact the searchbar is getting to be rather redundant, as there re other searchbars on Firefox: the default homepage,and on newtabs page for instance. Also search terms may be entered direct in to the location bar.

By default there is nothing between the location bar and the searchbar, other than a flexible space, this allows them to be dragged to change their lengths, without even needing to open the customisations ( customisZations ) option. The mouse pointer becomes a double-headed arrow once between the two. You may need to move some fixed icon obstructing the unseen flexible space.
The change to Yahoo will have caught some by surprise. I wish Firefox had directly advise users of this change, but it is easy to change back.

Application unable to open browser to retrieve and load a Form

An application I am running needs to open firefox browser to retrieve and display a form for authentication purposes.
I get message "Unable to access Internet" even though the browser is already open while I read the BBC news online.
I tried with Internet Security set to "LOW" then closed the firewall and then both but still get the same error each time. I assume I have to tell the system somewhere that this app is allowed to open the browser. Any suggestions greatfuly received.

There two most common reasons why windows do not open
1- Problems of incomplete initialization of Add-on in database:
(Do a back up of databse, and test forcing re initialization of the add-on)
- check financial add-ons landing page: root cause: problemms of installation (DATA BASE)
2- Missing deafult settings:
Like the deafult vat codes for sales and purchase, depending on localization, you must have them defined in Administration/setup/Fiancials/GL Account determination (Purchase-tax/Sales-tax) Note 770851.
Or having defined all the default GL Accounts' for Inventory (Even if you don't use them), in Administration/setup/Fiancials/GL Account determination
You might find tips of what is missingor going wrong in the log file :
- In 8.8 it can be found as described in note 1523686
-in 2007 can befoun see note 915589

We just upgrade to Adobe Illustrator CC and my menus and toolbars are huge icons.. How do I make them smaller?? Its freaking me out.

It is set to 124% but they are still huge.. The other programs I use are normal sized menus just the new illustrator is huge.. any suggestions?

Opening files without cascading and files being tabbed (Win 7)

Is there a way to get DW CC (Win 7) to open multiple files on top of each other without cascading? In older versions, you could open multiple pages and toggle among them using a file menu at top. I would like to have all pages open with the same dimensions (without being tabbed) with their element quick view

You should be able to hit the small minimize button in the upper right of the document window (not the main application window) to turn your pages into floating windows rather than tabbed ones.

An update for numbers was shown for my macbook pro, however even though this has been done I cannot open numbers without updating and when you try to update again it advises you that this is already done so we go round in circles getting nowhere, any idea

Do not delete the old version of Numbers (Numbers 2.3, Numbers'09). It has features that the new Numbers has lost (in particular, Print View).
Numbers '09 has been moved to a folder called iWork '09 inside your Applications folder. The icon on your Dock continues to point to Numbers '09. Launching Numbers from that icon is why you get the "Update" message. Numbers 2.3 is trying to open a Numbers 3 document.
The new version of Numbers (Numbers 3.2 is the latest version) lives in your Applications folder (not a sub folder). Drag that icon to your Dock. It will become an Alias. Right click (or control click) on it and Options > Keep In Dock. Now you can chose which version to run.
Numbers 2 on the left (three columns)
Numbers 3 on the right (four columns).
Both versions will run happily side by side. Just be sure which version you use to open a Numbers document. If Numbers 3 tries to "steal" a Numbers 2 document, you will get a warning when you start to edit:
Edit a Copy will preserve your Numbers 2 document and create a Numbers 3 copy. Cancel will get you out. Upgrade will convert your Numbers 2 document to a Numbers 3 document.
If all else fails, you can do Menu > File > Export To > Numbers '09 to revert.
Do not delete Numbers '09 (or Numbers '08) from your machine! You will need them.

[SOLVED]Opening Obmenu as admin and general permissions issue

i did a new arch install with all the basics, sudo, and openbox. when i go into a terminal to open obmenu as an admin using sudo and whilst logged in as root, i get the following
I did cp all the xdg data menu.xml rc.xml and autostart to my home folder/username/.config/openbox

uh, owner is read and write, group read only and the other read only, and the owner is set to root not my username, so i think ive missed something extremely vital when using the useradd script during the arch installation
maybe i put a group i shouldnt have in the additional groups. either way. it seems i dont have permissions as my actual user "nankura"
i cant even change the permissions

[solved] power management without HAL and pm-utils

hi guys! i got rid of hal and pm-utils, but i'm having some troubles now with the powersaving settings.
i'm using hibernate-script with uswsusp tools to hibernate etc, and laptop-mode-tools with acpi for the power management, but this looks like it isnt working anymore.
for example the screen backlight wont shut down anymore when i close the lid, despite the acpi action scripts are all ok.
far more importantly the cpu fan doen't ever start!! earlier this morning the cpu hit 77°C (while it's normally 40°) but the fan didn't kick in!
what can i do?

wait, maybe it's just the new kernel i've installed this morning! it's some days now that i've uninstalled hal and i think i would have noticed before!

disabling laptop-mode-tools temporarily solved the problem. i mean the fan is now spinning free ^^
i'll try reinstalling it or downgrading the kernel later

[Solved]Xfce 4.8 Menus and Avant-Window-Navigator.

Does anyone know of any applets for AWN that have support for xfce 4.8? I've got xfce set up exactly the way I like it right now, but I'd love to fix the menu issues in AWN.
I've been searching for a solution to this for most of the afternoon, and I seem to only come up with outdated information and current applets that just lead to broken download links. Is there a package in the AUR that i'm overlooking?

Well I found a solution that works. I'm just using alacarte to edit a custom menu, then removing it to get rid of the bloat that comes with it. Really liking xfce.

Is there a way to open Illustrator, without being prompted and seemingly forced to purchase monthly cloud membership?

I purchased the full version of CS6 and now suddenly get prompted to sign up for creative cloud membership. I am not able to open Illustrator without choosing (and paying for presumably) a cloud membership. I only want access to the program which I purchased and own outright. Is there someway of bypassing the signup to cloud membership? I'm able to open PS CS6 currently without difficulty but not Illustrator. It seems unfair to pay high $ for a product about a year ago and suddenly not be able to even open the program without shelling out a monthly fee. Thanks for any help.

The issue has been up here before.
From what I (fail to) remember, I am unsure whether it is possible to avoid its occurrence.
If no one here is able to offer a definite answer, I will alert one of our forum staff friends who will hopefully be able to alert the right one to deal with it.

You can hide a menu bar via a transaction and screen variant. The T.code is SHD0. No code required, just a development class/package.
I'm not sure if you have hide tool bars.

Help! I accidentally deleted Apple Application Support... is there any way I can download it and reinstall it without deleting and reinstalling itunes?

My huband is going to be so ****** if I have to uninstall and reinstall itunes. PLEASE HELP ME! If he loses his playlists or any other information it will be devastating... he has a radio show!
When I try to open itunes it says that it won't open woithout Apple Application Support and says I need to uninstall and reinstall itunes. 2 things I'm afraid will happen.
1. He doesn't want to update to the latest itunes because all his friends told him not to because the newest version *****.
2. He might lose all his playlists and also even if he doesn't los his itunes library he might lose data and information about all the songs.
I just really need to open itunes WITHOUT uninstallign and reinstalling it. Is there ANY way I can do that?

I also googled this question. Someone said if I download quicktime it comes with apple application support. Does that solve my problem?

Remove padding on menu bar and toolbar

Is there a way of removing the extra margin at the bottom of JMenus and JToolBars?
