Solved -Oracle 10.2.0.1 on AIX 5.3 ML3 - Error in invoking target 'ntcontab

i try to Upgrade from oracle 9.2.0.7 to Oracle 10.2.0.1.
But the Linking to not work.
The Paket: bos-adm-libm is installt.
The Oracle Installer say - all OK, no errors.
The Script: rootpre.sh i run as user: root, befor i strart runInstaller

The AIX is fresh bootet, without any oracle process start at boottime

During installing Oracle 8i EE on mandrake Linux 7.0, at the point of linking oracle protocol support 8.1.6.1.0 ,while Linking in progress I got the following message box
"Error in invoking target ntcontab.o of make file /home/network/lib/ins_net_client.mk.

If I select igmore and continue , even after successfull installation ,when try to run svrmgr or sqlplus at the shell $
I am getting error in loading shared libraries.

should now be linked as follows on systems with a newer version
of glibc,in order to ensure compatibility:

If your application is compiled using a version of glibc later
than 2.1.3 and requires linking at install-time using the acle8i

the shared objects that make up glibc. If your application must

Oracle 9i Error in invoking target ntcontab.o of makefile

Does anybody know what this means / how to get the install to continue (I am using Mandrake 8.1) I am new both to Oracle and Linux, help to finally get this installed would be much appreciated.

and
Second : I read the file readme.oracle8i,and do what it
said.
It's ok to solve the problem.

Installed on make "error in invoking target ..." on AIX 5L

I read through the other posts that looked simillar and tried the fixes that were suggested. However, none of them have worked.
I have a pseries IBM server with AIX 5L. I have loaded all of the prerequisits (as far as I can tell). The Universal Installer works fine until it gets to the part where it actually links the files. Then I get the "Error in invoking target install of makefile /../ins_sqlplus.mk.
I believe that I have plenty of disk space allocated, plenty of memory and my Oracle environment variables are set correctly. What I don't know is why I am getting part s of the scripts echoed out to me. That makes me think that the scripts were broken to begin with.
I would appreciate any insight anyone might have.

I read through the other posts that looked simillar and tried the fixes that were suggested. However, none of them have worked.
I have a pseries IBM server with AIX 5L. I have loaded all of the prerequisits (as far as I can tell). The Universal Installer works fine until it gets to the part where it actually links the files. Then I get the "Error in invoking target install of makefile /../ins_sqlplus.mk.
I believe that I have plenty of disk space allocated, plenty of memory and my Oracle environment variables are set correctly. What I don't know is why I am getting part s of the scripts echoed out to me. That makes me think that the scripts were broken to begin with.
I would appreciate any insight anyone might have.

Also, a common problem seems to be prereq packages not installed, however, that is not the case here.

Pl identify exact version of "10g" you are trying to install. Are you following all of the steps in the Install Guide ? Pl post the last 50 lines from the install log file

When running the Ora9i Universal Installer, I got this pop-up window error:
" Error in invoking target install of makefile /opt/oracle/OraHome1/plsql/lib/ins_plsql.mk "
I tried to fix it as explained in http://www.puschitz.com/InstallingOracle9i.shtml#OracleInstallationErrors but after executing the genclntsh script I got this message:

Pre-installation:
I install the oracle with user "oracle" which belongs to "dba" group.
The environment variables are
PATH=/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/ccs/bin:/usr/openwin/bin:/usr/dt/bin:/usr/platform/SUNW,Ultra-80/sbin:/opt/sun/bin:/opt/SUNWexplo/bin
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/openwin/lib
OPENWINHOME=/usr/openwin
ORACLE_OWNER=oracle
Also, i created /oracle folder for the installation of oracle

While installing oracle, I was encountered the error in invoking target ntcontab.o of makefile /oracle/OraHome92/network/lib/ins_net_client.mk while installing Oracle 9.2.0.1.0 in Solaris 9 unix machine.

umount partitions where installing oracle and then check perrmisions to mount point and mount back.

Problem: Oracle Database 10g is not certified on the current operating system.
Recommendation: Make sure you are installing the software on the correct platform.
Any worry at this stage??
