[Solved] Picard 1.3 doesn't have DiscID

The recent upgrade to Picard v1.3 breaks the ability to lookup CDs. Upstream, they have moved to using python-discid instead of querying libdisid directly http://tickets.musicbrainz.org/browse/PICARD-503.
Unfortunately, in Arch this is still an AUR package https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/python-discid/, so the dependency isn't shown when installing picard-1.3-3 https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/42587.
Build the AUR package and install python2-discid-1.1.0-2-any.pkg.tar.xz to restore disc lookups in Picard v1.3. (Installing the python-discid-1.1.0-2-any.pkg.tar.xz won't work at this time. See https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/42545)
I'm adding this topic to help others quickly Google this issue, since the relevant bug reports against picard-1.3 are already closed.

That is only a feature of iOS 5 or later...
Connect to iTunes on the computer you usually Sync with and “ Check for Updates “...
If an Update Appears Install it... if not... you are up to date for your particular Device...

SOLVED: kernel loads, but doesn't have a root file system

Hi,
The system is an Asus X202E. It does UEFI and has a GPT partition system. I've gotten through that part. And it is clear to me that the kernel loads.
It's the next step that's giving me grief. I've tried this with two bootloaders: gummiboot and rEFInd.
With gummiboot, the kernel panics because it can't mount the root file system. With rEFInd, it gets to the intial ramdisk and then drops me to a shell, apparently because the root file system is set to null, and it obviously can't mount that as "real root".
Here is what I posted on the Arch mailing list, documenting that I have indeed specified the correct root (I'm copying this from the email, eliding the unfortunate line wraps):

The root partition is supposed to be /dev/sda8, that is:

I'm guessing that this is really the same problem with both gummiboot and with rEFInd, but don't really know. It's clear to me that the initrd is not being correctly constructed. So I removed /etc/mkinitcpio.conf and did, as per the Arch wiki,
pacman -Syyu mkinitcpio linux udev
No joy.
I don't even know which way to go at this point. If I even knew how to tell it where the real disk is in the initial ram disk shell, that would help. Better of course, would be actually solving the problem.

I have made extremely limited progress on this issue.
My previous attempt to specify the root partition in mkinitcpio.conf was insufficient. Furthermore, this is no place--despite the documentation--for the orthodoxy about using UUIDs rather than the straight /dev/sdx. In my case:
root=/dev/sda8
and run
mkinitcpio -p linux
It still drops me into the shell at boot. I can do
mount /dev/sda8 /new_root/
and exit the shell. It still won't believe it has the root device and drops me back in. I just exit.
At this point, for a very brief moment, things look promising. It appears to be starting normally. Then, gdm.service, NetworkManager.service, and dbus.service all fail to start. There may be others but the screen goes by too quickly. At this point, it hangs trying to initialize the pacman keyring and all I can do is CTRL-ALT-DEL.
It occurred to me that this might extend to the rEFInd configuration and so I modified it to also use /dev/sda8 rather than the UUID, but this made no difference. Trying to boot via gummiboot still yields the previously specified kernel panic.

After some troubleshooting, I decided to order a new battery. I replaced the battery and was then able to get it to restore, however--after I restore it and it comes time to restart the phone, it gets stuck and doesn't turn on.

Local area connection doesn't have valid ip

I have a Touchsmart 320-1030 that belongs to a friend. Everything was working fine then for no apparent reason connection to the internet was lost. They have contacted their isp and gone through all troubleshooting with them. All other equipment (ie laptops, phones, ect..) connect and work fine. The windows troubleshooter offers no help and says local area connection doesn't have valid ip is the reason it won't connect. This is true when trying to connect wired or wireless. I piddle with fixing computers as a hobby so they have asked me to see what I can do if anything. I have been Googling, reading, and trying everything I have found for three days and have had no luck. So I am hoping I can find some help here. I have never seen anything like this. It may be a hardware problem and I'm not smart enough to realise it. But I need to know that too.

I have changed from detect automaticly to use this ip in tcip ip4 and used ip I know is good to my router -
When I did this last thing the wireless did see my network but the network 2 thingy that it makes still won't connect even tho when I search for connections the list says I am connected to my network. The little thing by the clock says not connected. Also the ethernet adapter says unknown public network when I do that. Wireless says unknown public network or connection when I have it detect ip automaticly.
Network discovery will not turn on in homegroup, nether will the services assocated with it.
I have run tweaking . com firewall repair
I have uninstalled avast security, there are no other av or firewall programs
I have uninstalled bonjoir because I read that causes a conflict of somekind

Why BlackBerry 10 doesn't have an Email app?

I am surprised that BlackBerry 10 doesn't have a separate Email app.
I know what is the first answer: There is the BlackBerry Hub. Use that!
But then why is there an App for BBM when that is also in the Hub?
The second strange thing is that there is an icon for SMS, but that's not a separate app. It is link to the BlackBerry Hub SMS tab. So there are three types of notifications in the Hub: One that have a separate app (BBM, Phone, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn), one that have an app link (SMS), and one that has nothing (Email, Notifications, PIN). This could be confusing...
Personally I only would like to use the Hub to see all of the notifications I have received. Now when I write an Email I accidentally leave the Hub on the Email tab. After when I receive a Facebook message I cannot see who wrote me because I left the Hub on the Email tab.

I appreciate the feedback on the seperate email application. I will pass on this feedback.
In the meantime BlackBerry Hub is used to send and receive emails and i'm not sure if there will be a seperate icon in the near future.

I solved org.hibernate.TransientObjectException by adding "@OneToMany(fetch=FetchType.EAGER, cascade=CascadeType.ALL)"

Your best bet is to contact Apple. Those conditions should not occur with a new unit.
I do suggest that you read Chapters 1, 2, and 3.
If you wish to troubleshoot on your own...
First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

Display items which doesn't have any posting data in report painter

I made some reports by report painter. The problem is that when I run these reports, they can't display the items which doesn't have any posting data. But my customers want to display all items whatever it has been posted or not , can you give me the solution?
BTW, when I made Reports by using Drilldown report, it display all items

There in the rows tab select the radio button, Print Zero rows
and in the columns tab select Print Zero columns radio button,

Make sure People Sending you via iMessage are sending their messages on your PHONE number not on your EMAIL addresses . My sister had the same problem, thats how i managed to solve it!

Backup Doesn't Have User Accounts

I have messed up a few things on my wife's iBook (uh-oh). Fortunately, I made a complete backup with Superduper before doing anything. The backup is bootable, but the backup does not recognize any user (not even root). So, after restoring from the backup, I get the login screen, but can't log in.
The reset password utility won't solve the problem, because there are no accounts.
Since the user folders are on the harddrive, I tried reinstalling from the Tiger DVD (have to use Archive & Install since it is an older version). I then changed the "user folder" from the backup's name, e.g. username1. I then created a new account with my wife's username, trashed the newly created user folder, then change the username1 folder to match my wife's username.
This all works to an extent, but applications like email have not accounts, addressbook doesn't have permission for the address file (and I had run repair permissions).
What is the best way to restore my data from the backup disk, which does not think it has any users?
All of the data is there, I just need to successfully move it from the backup back to the iBook with the correct settings.

Repairing permissions only works with System components and various applications that have files that the system can use to verify those permissions. You can move data to the User folder (or the folder itself), but User folders don't have enough information for the System to determine what the permissions should be - you will need to manually make sure that the permissions on the moved files are correct (the Get Info details match the user name). Missing preferences usually means the data in the ~/Library folder is missing or can't be read, since that is where the preferences are kept.

Create Cluster Wizard in SCVMM 2012 doesn't have IP Address page

i installed the SCVMM 2012 version 3.0.6019.0.
When i use the Create Hyper-V Cluster under Fabric page to create a Cluster.
the Create Cluster Wizard doesn't have the IP Address page to let me input the IP for the Cluster.
after i answer all the wizard, the Install Cluster job shown Error 25325
The cluster creation failed because of error At least one IP address needs to be configured..
so, how to solve it?

But I got the same problem creating a cluster on SCVMM 2012 R2. To get around it I instead created the cluster using powershell and it worked great:

I installed Adobe Creative Suite with the installation cd on my old laptop (mac). Now I have a new laptop (macbook pro retina) and this laptop doesn't have a cd. I downloaded creative suite on new laptop. Now when I try to save a file, the program crashes and the file I was working on is lost (and not saved). How to solve this problem?

Nobody can tell you anything without proper technical details like what program you actually mean, where you save and so on.

I had the same situation. I have an external disk burner which also acts as a CD/DVD/BlueRay Drive/burner.
Having access to an external drive will solve the problem. As long as it has a USB cable you should be able
to plug it into your iMac, spot the disk icon on your desktop and insert the installer disks and load the software.
