[SOLVED] Question about GCC error messages.

I'm currently taking a course in C programming, and I have a question about the error messages returned by GCC.
When ever i try to compile a program containing syntax errors, i get cryptic and not very helpfull error messages.
If i try to compile:
#include <stdio.h>
int main(void)
int i;
i = 0
return 0;
I get following from GCC:
error.c: In function â:
error.c:8:2: error: expected â before â
But shouldn't the message be something like:
error.c: In function 'main':
error.c:8:2: error: expected ; before 'return'
or am I mistaken?

Woah. That is very strange. I've never seen that before.
I assume you're using Arch Linux. What text editor did you use to write the code? Which terminal application are you using?
...those questions are probably unrelated to the problem, but we might as well get them out of the way.

I receive an error message at startup that says:
"an unexpected error occured while trying to load the microsolf framework library"
Is this causing damage to my computer? If so, what should I do?

I had a question on a error message in event viewer for BO 3.0
Error Message:
Tried to allocate 20 windows desktop but only able to allocate 17 of them.The system may have reached its windows desktop limit.Please contact your system administrator.
Source:CR Processing server.
I have seen this error message before in BOEXIR2 for DeskI services but never for Crystal Reports.
What is the change in 3.0 architecture due to which we receive this error message for cr processing server.

Standard Lion networking .. Reboot the TC or use the disconnect all users in the AU.. it has not closed the sparsebundle correctly from last time.. or has simply forgotten where the TC is.
It is reported at least once a day here.

Cannot run the macro SOLVER.XLAM!MainEx error message

Ive had this problem for awhile but am now needing to use solver for my schoolwork.
Anytime i try to use the solver function under the data tab this error message pops up.
I have tried taking off and readding the add-in under options.
when i try to access solver in the visual basic panel it asks for a password which i have never set
Im running excel 2013 on windows 7
I have tried many things and am exhausted. No solution has been posted to this problem on the site or anywhere on the web

As far as I know, the Solver add-in code has the password by design, it is protected on purpose and copyrighted. They are designed for use from the spreadsheet only.
Then, as the error message:" Cannot run the macro SOLVER.XLAM!MainEx error message." Please try to do the following methods to fix the issue:
1. Open VBE (Alt+F11)>Click Tools> References>set to SOLVER>Show immediate code pane (Ctrl+G)>Copy/paste (or write): application.run "solver.xlam!auto_open"
2. Disable the other Excel add-ins, such as
Adobe PDFMaker.
3. Repair Office 2013.

However I can still boot and everything seems mostly fine. I haven't changed anything to my /etc/mkinitcpio.conf, here are the only customized parts:

I'm using an encrypted root (ext4 over LVM over LUKS) and boot partition is contained in an (unencrypted) LVM logical volume. I also specify a few i915 module options in an /etc/modprobe.d/modprobe.conf file as per the Intel Graphics wiki page:
# Intel graphics driver power-saving option :
options i915 i915_enable_rc6=7 i915_enable_fbc=1 lvds_downclock=1
Never had any such warnings before, but now it appears each and every time I update or reinstall my kernel (the default one). I went through Mkinitcpio wiki page, tried putting question marks after the listed modules and rebuilding but it didn't change anything... Any ideas?
Btw, I don't use any specific compression option and had the regular lzo name change during the same full system upgrade that updated mkinitcpio and linux.

Yes indeed, removing /etc/modprobe.d/modprobe.conf~ hidden backup file solved the warning issue. Strange but thanks ukhippo, I hadn't thought about checking other subforums!

Question about UTL_FILE_DIR - Errors

I have read several other postings about the error I am getting with UTL_FILE DIR:

We have setup the parameter in V$Parameter and the directories related are all created with proper permissions.
My first question is do the same directories need to be created on the db server as well?

1. what kind of errors are contained in Error class?
2.does this class contain only runtime errors?
3. if the question number 2 is positive, what about InstantiationError which is a compile error and is a subclass of Error.

ST22 and SM21 do not show any dump under my username.
In RSA3, I am able to extract the delta for the datasource COPA.
When it is on delta update then i am gettign the 0 records, when i changed to "F" it is giving me the error 'Errors occurred during the extraction' and the error messege says "Errors occurred during the extraction Message no. RJ012
I enter a (correct) value in field 'Target sys', too.
Why it is not correct?

I just want to ask a question about "standard" CPU temperatures because my laptop (a Dell Vostro 3700) is permanently hot with the fans on even when I am not doing anything special.
I have CPU freq scaling active with the conservative governor, and I use Gnome Shell 3.2 with an nVidia using the nouveau driver.
Here are "stable" temperatures while writing this post:

I need to get some information about an error message that comes up every time I go to Mozilla. Who can I email.

Every time I go to Mozilla I get an error message which says "www.netregistry.com.au:443 uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is not trusted because no issuer chain was provided." I have checked wit netregistry and there is not an issue on their end and we determined there is an issue with Mozilla. Could you please advise why this message is coming up. It has only been happening for the past 3 weeks.

A question about an error after changing FSB

Here is what I am running
MSI K7T266 Pro
AMD Athlon Thunderbird 1.4ghz processor
512 DDR RAM
Geforce 3 Ti 500
Intel 21041-Based PCI Ethernet Adapter (Generic) #2
Now I loaded my FSB at 100 and it runs fine but only at 1.050 ghz instead of 1.4.
I try running at 133 FSB and it runs at 1.4 till I try to install anything and it crashes my computer and corrupts my HDD and gives me a 'serious error' message of:

BCP4 : F81EB965 OSVer : 5_1_2600 SP : 0_0 Product : 768_1
Now I want to know what this means?
I cleared my CMOS and now I only got the error message once when I tried to install the drivers for my sound card. and I can install DOOM 3 now without getting the reboot and 'serious error' message.

Hi,
The IllegalStateException in a servlet is thrown when some information has already been sent to the client and then if you try to forward or redirect or include a page.
You can check it in your JSP code.
