[SOLVED] Vim search history inserts A

Hello,
I have the following problem with Vim:
when I press the up arrow in search mode (/<Up>), Vim switches to the insert mode and enters the letter A in a new line above the cursor. When I press /<Down>, the same happens, only the letter is B.
Surprisingly, arrows work just fine for browsing command history both in Vim and in Bash.
All mappings for arrows in my .vimrc are commented out, I've deleted the appropriate files in ~/.vim/view and in ~/.vim-tmp where I store backups and such.
I use Sakura but the same happens in urxvt and in gnome-terminal. In Vim, term is set to xterm.
Can you help me please?

Wonderful, thank you!
":verbose cmap <Up>" returned "No mapping found" but disabling plugins was what I haven't thought about. It turns out it was the SearchComplete plugin.
Thanks a lot!

  • Clear google search history

Well, i decided to create a new profile in Firefox 21, and using add ons compatibility reporter and check compatibility, i finally have the "clear search history" clearing when i click It, after searching, clears all searching history in the Google search bar and drop down. This may help others??

No question, i`m telling you how i solved the "clear Google search history" problem in the Google search bar and drop down, not "clear recent history"."'''Well, i decided to create a new profile in Firefox 21, and using add ons compatibility reporter and check compatibility, i finally have the "clear search history" clearing when i click It, after searching, clears all searching history in the Google search bar and drop down."''' see attachment again.

  • How can I fix the disabled -Clear Search History- in the Tools section?

I have a MacBook Pro and have just noticed that, as of today 2/15/13, the Form & Search History in the Tools, Clear Search History, section is often lightened/blurred over and its tiny box no longer able to be checked. More importantly, the Clear Search History -itself- is completely disabled and not working. I used it yesterday and it appeared to work fine. I've noticed that there are quite a few reports of this problem occurring with other users, but any and all those who have responded to these reports, with suggestions, are of no help whatsoever, to me, as I cannot understand them. Can someone who is able to give the proper effective advice do s in layman's terms so I can comprehend their instructions, please. :-) Thank you.

The problem recurred and after verifying I have no add-ons or extensions, since I don't even know what they are, much less know how to use them the "Safe Mode" process wouldn't solve the problem. But at least now i know that the "Clear Recent History," in the Tools tab, works intermittently, but just not consistently. And the "Form & Search History" with tiny box next to it is unchecked and inaccessible (blurred over) sometimes, then appears accessible and check marked on other occasions. A very strange phenomenon...
I have a Mac OS X 10.7.5 system and have no idea where to find the "Profile" to implement the other possible fixes. I am not well enough versed in the technical aspects of this computer to even attempt the frustrating and tricky task of deleting files I haven't a clue where to find unless someone can take me through the process step by step in layman's terms.
There is either a bug in Firefox 19.0, which is very possible considering there are quite a few people who have reported this problem, or perhaps my last update somehow didn't download properly. Is it necessary to trash my current 19.0 version in order to download Firefox, again, or would another download of the same version override the current one?
I'd like to see if that works to resolve the problem, but the first time I tried, a file that I couldn't open ended up on my desktop and I had to move it into the trash, not knowing what else to do with it. It didn't even show up in the trash when I did that???!!! Please provide easy to follow instructions on how to perform the downloading of another 19.0 version to replace my current one. Perhaps that will work. Thanks! :-)

  • Google search history not private?

Hello, I'm receiving my friend's google search history on my iPhone. The problem started about two weeks ago.
When the search history first appeared on my device, I realized it was hers.
First of all: she asked for my apple ID to download some apps on her first iPhone (whats'app and facebook) because she couldn't get an apple ID right away. Then she logged out. (i've also changed my password)
Then, I helped her create her apple ID, and she asked for my email address (outlook account) to set it as a secondary account to recover her password in case she lost it. (She's using a google account as a primary account).
When I received apple's e-mail, I didn't verified the account, because I was guessing that could have been the problem. (It didn't stop)
Another thing I did, was to share a personal hot spot with her, cause she didn't have internet access (i'm sure this is not the reason, but just in case...)
I don't understand why I'm able to see every single thing she googles, I find it annoying and also I feel like I'm invading her privacy, this should never happen!
    Please, help me solve this!

    Hi,
thank you very much. However, it did not work. But now I know, I should've been more accurate. Well, my problem is not with the google search field next the brosing field, but with my iGoogle engine. I know that Google has a private search history by account and I deleted all --- nothing happened. When trying to search something, I find keywords older than a month. Moreover, in fact, it is not just with Google but with any other sites where search is needed.
I simply don't know what to do! Any smart idea?

  • [Solved] vim, indent and hash

I know this isn't strictly a programming problem, but bear with me...
To make a long story short, I have a Perl file in which some comment lines start with the hash(#) as the first character of the line, i.e. before the # there's nothing, not even spaces. The problem is that trying to indent this line with == does not work. Now, with my current vim setup, when *insert* a new line that starts with an #, indentation is done properly. Also, if there is space before the #, but the indentation is wrong, == correctly indents it. The problem is when the # is the very first character of the line, and (it goes without saying) the indentation is wrong, == does nothing.
I've googled and read all about disabling smartindent, cindent, and whatnot, and nothing seems to work. I'm really grasping at the straws with this one, so all ideas are welcome...

For future reference of whomever might encouter this problem... the file /usr/share/vim/vim73/indent/perl.vim has, in line 55 and following, the, erm, following:
" Don't reindent coments on first column
    if cline =~ '^#.'
    return 0
    endif
Commenting those out solved the problem. Of course I now wonder why would those lines be there in the first place, but I digress...

  • Ipad search history & spotlight

Why won't my email "to,from&amp;subject" fields erase from the ipad search history area. After resetting, using "erase all contents&amp;settings"- all the emails are gone.  Why not the headers?

Restored thru iTunes as new ipad on the COMPUTER solved the problem.

  • Can't type in "Search History" bar

So I'm pretty sure I've had this problem for a while (since just before Lion, maybe?), but I guess I expected an update to fix it, so I never bothered with it until I noticed it hasn't been addressed.
Basically, I have new tabs set to open "Top Sites", and when I click in the "Search History" bar at the bottom right, the default text goes away, and I have a blinking typing cursor, but nothing I type does anything. Typing in the address bar or (google) search bar, or anywhere/thing else works fine, just not that one history search bar.
    Anyone else having this issue?

Quit Safari. In the Finder, hold down the option key and select Go > Library from the menu bar. From the folder that opens, move the following items to the Desktop, leaving the window open:
    Library/Safari/History.plist
    Library/Safari/HistoryIndex.sk
    Library/Safari/TopSites.plist
Launch Safari. Your history and top sites list will be empty. Load a few pages, then test. If the problem is solved, trash the items you moved to the Desktop and close the Finder window. If there's no improvement, quit Safari again and put the files back where they came from, overwriting the newer ones created in their place.

  • Getting someone else's google search history?

Hello, I'm receiving my friend's google search history on my iPhone. The problem started about two weeks ago, when she bought one, and because she couldn't get an apple ID right away, I gave her mine to download some apps, and logged out. When the search history first appeared on my device I realized it was hers, so I changed my apple id password (i guessed that could be the problem). That did not work, I'm still receiving the webs she visits, which I find so annoying. Also, I feel like i'm invading her privacy. I've seen other people have had this problem before, but I have not find out the reason, how can I solve this problem? Thank you! (We are both using Iphone 5s and have the latest iOS)

When she had access to internet, she created her apple ID, and she asked for my email adress to set it as an alternate address to recover her password in case she lost it. I didn't verified her account when I received the mail from apple.

  • How can I get rid of "History and Bookmarks" section from the search history drop down menu in safari 6.0.2?

Let's just say I have saved bookmarks of things that i do NOT want my friends to see when they use my computer occasionally. I know they could go and find these bookmarks anyway in the bookmarks menu but they dont snoop around my computer. i would rather it not just pop up when they go to search for something or type in a webpage. If there is no way to customize what shows up in the drop down menu for search results then that is something apple overlooked. Not everybody wants things all in one place. Whats the point of deleting search history and website history if its just going to show the certain things you have bookmarked? Any solution to this would be appreciated. One solution i thought would work was disabling search from suggesting, but i guess that only supresses the webpages not the url/search bar. Oh and this is for safari 6.0.2 please dont give me outdated advice.
    Thanks

  • Hi.. I have a new apple computer and have no idea how to find stuff on here... Can someone tell me how to find my search history? Thanks

Hi.. I have a new apple computer and have no idea how to find stuff on here... Can someone tell me how to find my search history? Thanks

In addition to Japib's suggestion check out
OS X Yosemite: See your files in the Finder
    OS X Yosemite: Finder preferences
OS X Yosemite: Ways to quickly see and open items
OS X Yosemite: Search with Spotlight
OS X Yosemite: Rename files, folders, and disks
    OS X Yosemite: Folder basics
OS X Yosemite: Ways to organize files on your desktop
    One more thing:
Search history is a term generally referring to what sites you have visited via your browser (e.g. Safari)
To see your Safari search history just open Safari and go to the top menu and select from Show History from the History
    See two pics below

  • I am unable to search my history in the Search History feature as when i type a term the history list goes blank labeling "no items." Is there a reason for this and a way i can search my history to find specific sites and content??

When i try to search for specific sites whether to find something or group together a list of sites from the same site, etc, after i type in a term in the Search History box, nothing appears. When i click the empty area it says "no item selected" at the bottom. However i can still search my bookmarks. Just wondering if there's a way to fix this.

It seems to have worked itself out. Thanks anyway!

  • The "Clear Search History" feature in the upper right drop-down menu no longer works in Firefox 4.

The "Clear Search History" feature in the upper right drop-down menu that shows search terms no longer seems to work in Firefox 4.

It is possible that there is a problem with the file that stores the "Saved Form" data.<br />
Rename or delete formhistory.sqlite (plus formhistory.sqlite-journal and formhistory.sqlite.corrupt and formhistory.dat, if they exist) in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder] in case there is a problem with the file that stores the "Saved Form" data.<br />
This will remove all saved form data, so you may want to rename formhistory.sqlite to formhistory.sqlite.sav or move the file to another folder in case you need to recover some saved data.
You may also need to delete search.sqlite and search.json in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder]

  • How do i get back my deleted or lost search history???

    Try this...
How to re download apps from the Mac App Store:
Open the App Store. From the menu bar click Store > Sign In
Click Purchases from the top of the App Store window.
Select which apps you want to re download. Then right or control click where you see Installed  then click Install.
Make sure and use the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.
