Some applications relaunch themselves automatically after I quit them

Certain applications will relaunch automatically after a few seconds after i quit them (CMD-Q or Application menu, Quit).
This happens on a new Macbook Pro retina 13 inch restored from a Time Machine backup of my Macbook Air 11 inch. The behaviour is not present in the Macbook Air.

It seems that you are Turkish as me But I will give my answer in English so that it can be helpful for others facing same problem.
I've faced same problem after latest firmware upgrade. It seems that latest upgrade has compatibility issues with Java applications, since I don't know whether you realized or not, the applications that are not working are java applications. I didn't try yet but a hard format may be a solution for this problem. Also we have to inform Nokia Support Department about that issue and they must make some improvements about that problem.
Good luck

  • Some applications won't open after updating to OS 10.8.5

I am running the Mountain Lion on a 2009 Macbook Air. I just did an update to 10.8.5 and now some of my applications won't open. A few of the appications that no longer run are Chrome, iPhoto and all Microsoft applications.
I tried uninstalling an reinstalling the apps but that did nothing, I also tried creating a new user account to see if the problem persisted in there and it did. I then tried removing my caches folder from Library which also fixed nothing. I then tried booting it in safe mode and the applications successfully opened in there.
I obviously can't just boot my Macbook up in safe mode whenever I need to use it so if anyone knows how this problem could be solved? They were all functioning normally before I did the most recent update of OS.
I have tried repairing the disk permissions but that resulted in no change also. I do not have the start up disk for Mountain Lion so reinstalling the OS is not possible, nor is booting from disk.
I'm in my final year of college, in the middle of my final year project I REALLY need this fixed.

When I try to open iPhoto, Unity, Chrome or a few others it gives me the same error each time. "iPhoto cannot be opened because of a problem. Check with the developer to make sure iPhoto works with this version of OS X. You may need to reinstall the application. Be sure to install any available updates for the application and OS X"
But that doesn't make sense because I just updated the OS and all my applications are up to date also. I've tried reinstalling, no joy though.

  • While checking my e-mails some pop-ups came on. after i deleted them my whole mail page printing got smaller

my yahoo mail page just got minimized. How do I fix it?

I've had almost every issue you've had.  Finally on Friday the screen blacked out.  It was obviously still charged, since I could hear the message ring, but when I tried to light up the display it didn't light so I was unable to get to it unless I removed the battery.  Then, as soon as the display timed out, I couldn't get it lit up again without removing battery.  I had the same slow movements throughout the display as well as slow text messaging.  Every issue you had other than the alarm clock (that always worked well).
I took it in yesterday and, after over an hour spent there with a 'professional', I still had no answers.  He told me to come home and copy everything from my sd card to my computer, then re-format my card.  Well, my phone didn't even recognize that I had an sd card installed!!  Nor did my computer!
So then I got to experimenting...I removed the card and viola!!!!!!  The phone worked GREAT!  It's never worked so fast!  I then installed my husbands sd card to see if it was my phone's card reader or my card.  Turns out that the phone still worked great with his card installed and it did recognize his card in my phone.  So, my conclusion is that I need a new card.  I couldn't believe the difference in speed of everything!  It's like a brand new phone!
As for the hard reset...I did that over the weekend, before I could get to a verizon store.  It didn't work at all.
I'd say, do the same thing I did and see if that works.  Can't hurt!!!  Please keep me posted.  I'd like to see what you find out
    Good Luck!!!!

  • I love shortcuts. I'm completely unnerved when I can't use them because some application like videos or music players block them. Any chance of always giving priority to the firefox shortkeys?

I want to keep my firefox tabs as simple as possible. Don't have much space because I'm using a netbook. So I'd like to erase the "x"-icon in my firefox tabs. control+x works fine, as long as there is no video, music player etc. on the page.
What can I do to always be able to use the firefox shortcuts? And not be stuck on any play or stop buttons...

  • Applications keep relaunching themselves after quit

Hi - wonder if someone can help. On one of my iMacs, some apps automatically relaunch themselves after I've quit them (this is nothing to do with restarting). I quit again, they relaunch. Multiple times. Then after a while, sometimes the quitting takes, and they don't relaunch. Any ideas?
    Thanks!

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • While rendering a project in After Effects CC (Mac) , the application closes half way, saying it quit unexpectedly, Please Help!

So, I have created a cool project that was a lot of hard work in After Effects CC (Mac), While rendering a project in After Effects CC (Mac) , the application closes half way, saying it quit unexpectedly. Here is the link to an error log which is automatically recorded when After Effects crashes:- After Effects Crash (Mac) - Pastebin.com
I have tried to render this project at least 5 times, shutting and restarting my computer. Please Help!
    Here is my computer specs if needed;
Operating System: Mac OS X Mavericks version 10.9.4 (13E28)
    Processor: 2.5GHz Intel Core i5
    Memory: 4GB 1600 MHz DDR3
    Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 4000
    Screen Resolution: 13-inch (1280 x 800)
Hard Drive: 500GB -- 186.49 GB free space.
    Thanks
    Milan

Element 3d renders using your graphics card. Unlike After Effects, what GPU you're using matters a lot for Element.
As it is, you don't really have one.
You could try rendering an image sequence and then picking up your render where it left off when it crashes, but if a certain frame is just too much for your computer to handle, there's not much we can help with. I'd suggest adding a GPU that Element can use.

  • Why do some applications automatically open at startup

I just installed mountain lion.  I noticed that when the computer starts up microsoft windows and excel open automatically.  I have another application that does it sometimes as well.  why do some applications automatically open at startup?  How can I change this?

Quit them before shutting down the computer, and check the list of login items in the Users & Groups pane of System Preferences.

  • App launches automatically after quit or launches automatically by itself

I'm using Leopard and getting some strange behaviour with some apps.
    1) After I quit some apps they open again automatically.
    2) If a open an app, a new instance of it will open automatically after a few seconds.
Looking at this new instance, its launchd that opened it.
I never got this kind of behaviour with Tiger, what could be causing this?
And how do I fix it?

Then, I'm stumped since none of those should be launched by the launchd process, which normally only launches system background processes. Check Accounts->login items for spurious items.

    Hi vampyro33,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If it seems like system files are missing and applications are quitting unexpectedly, I'd suggest reinstalling Mavericks:

    Hello friends,
I have a Nokia C7. Although some minor issues were their, my phone had been working fine since I bought it. However, last month I got the Latest Symbian Anna update on my phone. After that, my phone's wifi has stopped working completely. It does not even detect any wlan connections that are available.
Also, there are problems with the phone's music player which keeps hanging after short instances.
I have reinstalled the os once but that did not help at all.
I would surely be very glad if someone could help me solve my phone's wifi problem.
    Thank you.
Reset the C7. Dial *#7370# reformat, you'll lose all data. Make a backup first and restore without the settings.

Dealing With The Resume Feature of Lion
Managing Mac OS X Lion's application resume feature.
If you shutdown your computer you should get a dialog asking if you want applications to resume on the next startup. Simply uncheck the box to prevent that from occurring. Open General preferences and uncheck the option to Restore windows when quitting and re-opening apps. You can also install a third-party utility to control resume features on individual applications: RestoreMeNot or Application State Cleaner.
It is possible to completely stop the Resume feature although I'm unconvinced that it is that annoying. Nevertheless see the following:
If you have not yet done so you must first make your /Home/Library/ folder visible. Open the Terminal application in the Utilities folder. At the prompt paste the following command line:
    chflags nohidden ~/Library
Press RETURN. Quit the Terminal application.
In the Finder navigate to the /Home/Library/Saved Application State/ folder. Delete the contents of the folder. Back up to the /Home/Library/ folder. Select the Saved Application State folder. Press COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window. In the Sharing and Permissions panel at the bottom click on the lock icon and authenticate. Set each of the listed entries to Read Only. Close the Get Info window.
Quit all open programs except the Finder (this is very important.) Next, navigate to the /Home/Library/Preferences/ByHost/ folder. Look for a .plist file with "com.apple.loginwindow." in the file name followed by some numbers in hexadecimal. Select the file. Press COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window and in the Sharing and Permissions panel click on the lock icon and authenticate. Set each of the listed entries to Read Only. Close the Get Info window. If you also find a file with the same filename but with a last extension of ".lockfile," then you should delete it.
The above should eliminate the Resume feature system-wide. Note that any future system updates or upgrades will likely undo these changes. You will then need to repeat this procedure assuming there are no major changes in OS X related to it.

  • Safari quits automatically after certain amount of idle time.

I am having a problem with my Safari quiting after a certain amount of system idle time. It could be as little as 5 minutes. I honestly don't know as I really haven't tried to figure out the exact time. Though I've been away as little as 15 minutes to come back and find that Safari as quit.
I do close the last window of Safari, but I've been doing that for years. I've only noticed that it's quitting by the fact that the little "light" at the bottom of the icon is missing. And that it bounces 1 or 2 times when I click on it. As well as the fact that I am not getting notifications, like eBay.
I have to admit that I was playing around with an Apple Script to have it quit Safari automatically after some system idle time. However, I can no longer find that Apple Script or the app. Heck, I can't even remember the name. However, I couldn't get the script correct as it never worked. I was doing this because my mother would leave a lot of windows/tabs open on her Mac and would use 50% plus of the CPU at times, even at "idle". I was doing this in Mt Lion, but once Mavericks came out. Her CPU usage has dropped down to less than 5%
So my questions are... How can I find this Apple Script that I created nearly a year ago? Why all of sudden does it start to work, which is with in the last several days to a week? Could it be something else that's making it quit?
The only thing that was a "huge" change was the addition of Garmin Express app to update my mother's GPS. (Wish that I did it on her Mac) However, this was installed last night.
Oh, there was another thing. I've tried to use this Mac as a target boot disc to a pre-2008 MBP 17', non-unibody. And I also tried to use that same MBP as a target disc on this Mac. Used a firewire 800. This was done about a week ago.
    Thank you,
    KOT

More important information: This only happens under an account that has the Parental Controls enabled. The main Admin account does not have this problem of Safari quitting out.

  • Applications open themselves after sleep

So my Boss is the only person I know who's having serious issues with his Mac Book Pro. The newest problem is that, after waking the Mac from sleep mode, applications open themselves: iWeb, iMac, Mail, Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Palm Desktop OS, Stuffit Expender, et cetera; they all open automatically.
I already checked the start-up items (although these should not be started after waking up to begin with) and nothing shows. Does anyone have an idea what could be wrong?

First thing to do is boot into safe mode and see what happens. If it's OK then look for a third-party startup item.
Next try creating a new user account then logging into that account. If the problem ceases then you are probably looking for a login item.
Applications don't just start up on their own so there must be something installed that's doing the deed.
