    Grace,
Error stack trace explains that you have some code in wdDoModifyView of view EditView that tries to dereference null reference.
So debug your application and check where null is returned but your code assumes that valid object reference comes.
As practice shows, the most probable reason for such errors in wdDoModifyView is view.getElement("misspelled-id"). So check this first.

  • Error: The listener returned the following Message: 500 Internal Server Error

    Hi,
I'm currently having trouble building a JSP Portlet and registering it in Portal 902. I've followed all of the documentation and created the appropriate web.xml, provider.xml and _default.properties files as required.  When I deploy the page to my local OC4J server using http://localhost:port/myapplication/providers I receive the following message:
Congratulations! You have successfully reached your Provider's Test Page.
    Checking for components:
    Portlets are: MyPortlet
When I then try and deploy the portlet in our development portal environment using the Enterprise Manager interface, and then test using the same URL as above, I receive the same message as above.
However, when I then try and register the provider through the Portal environment and try and "show" the portlet through a page within the portal, I receive the following error message:
Error: The listener returned the following Message: 500 Internal Server Error
I'm not sure why it would work with my local OC4J instance, and on the Portal server itself, but not as a portlet within a portal page in the main environment. I will add the application log, the provider.xml and the _default.properties files to extra postings after this first message.
Any help would be much, much appreciated.
    Best Regards

  • Error when sending message: 500 Internal Server Error

    Hi
IE is not accepting any messages,
when I try to send the messgae to the IE ( using RWB) i am getting the below error " Error when sending message: 500 Internal Server Error".
following things what i have noticed.
    1. Pipleline URL is fine, both in the BS of XI and in the RFC destnation which i am maintaing on the  IE admin) URL is  "http://<host>:8000/sap/xi/engine?type=entry"
    2. SICF all the XI serivess are up and running, i am able to test these service.
    3. The http port is active ( SMICM )
Pls note the error is  500 Internal Server Error
    regards
    Nisar

I think in a simple term 500 can be said as "the request cannot be processed curretnly", these options mentieoned by you are not applicable in my case.
This generally occurs due to load problem or if you are on an SP less than 12 or even if there is an administration problem---I am on PI7.0 , what are the administration problem you are talking about?
1 Check Table Space is enough. ---i had installed server recently & very few interface running.
2 Server licence Date or Time. In this case change system date and restart server.---i have recently installed server.
3 Check the service pack levels on your XI. If it is obsolete upgrade it with latest versio----Can u explain more on this?
Try restart the java stack(XI Server) and follwing services.
com.sapii.af.app ---I am not passing trough Adater framework, so i dont think this service will matters....
com.sapii.cpa.af.app.---CPA cahe is done sucessfully, as i said i am not passsing through adapter framework.
basically for a simple HTTP post what might cause 500 error if all necessary services are up and running?
    regards
    Nisar

  • "500 Internal Service Error"

Today we got our BT broadband set. All of our devices (2 laptops, 2 phones and 2 tablets) have connected successfully to the wifi. However, only the laptop will connect to the internet. The other devices are successfully connected when using apps, such a facebook and twitter, however when trying to search anything on the internet provider (web, chrome, safari) a message comes up saying
    "500 Internal Service Error
    Internal Error".
A BT man who was here helping set up the broadband also tried to connect and it wouldn't work on his phone either.
We have tried fully turning off and disconnecting the broadband box and restarting all our devices but the problem still appears. We rang up BT and they told us that the fact this was happening on all of our devices (barre the laptop) is a coincidence and that we just have to give it time and try restarting the BT broadband box (which we tried). He then told us to contact our device providers (apple, kindle, samsung) but I do not believe it is a problem with the devices, but a problem with the BT broadband. Does anyone know why this problem is occurring and a solution to fix it. Thank you.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Turn off "Smart Set Up" and see how you get on.

  • SOAP Receiver- Error While Sending Message: 500 Internal Server Error

    Hello,
    Our scenario: IDoc to SOAP
I have added a third party system in the SLD and have used the same in my ID configuration.
An idoc will be triggered from R/3, which will received in PI, PI will transform the IDoc into SOAP message for the third party system.
I have tested the scenario in ID from Interface Determination and its successful.
But when i try to try to test it from RWB, using Test Message in Adapter Engine, I get an error,
"Error while sending message:500 Internal server error"
If we test it using a testing software like SOAP UI, it works fine but from PI we get the error mentioned above.
    Regards,
    Abhishek

    Hello,
Since the IDOC adapter resides on the ABAP stack, you can use this URL instead (it will be sent to the integration engine as Venkata suggested)
    http://host:port/sap/xi/engine?type=entry
Also check your firewall settings from PI to the third-party system.
    Hope this helps,
    Mark

  • Imp: Error while sending message: 500 Internal Server Error

    Hi all
while testing my scenarios- by sending the message through component monitoring in RWB I get the following error in Integration Server
<b>"Error while sending message: 500 Internal Server Error "</b>
It seems that integration server is not picking up the messages.
Can anyone help me on this?
    thanks

    Hi Abhishek,
Check whether the integration url is pointing to correct one something like http://host url:http port/sap/xi/engine?type=entry.
Please do refer the below blog:

  • Error code 500 internal server error

I got a computer from my brother. It has windows 7 starter on it. It has been running fine, but now it says that the Microsoft teredo tunneling adapter driver is not working. It also gives me an error code 500 internal server error, when I try to search
for album information on windows media player. I don't understand IT jargon so can someone help me with this in plain English.

    Hi,
Could you please have a share with the event log information? Reference for
    opening Event Viewer.
What information appears in event logs? (Event Viewer)
For the Microsoft teredo tunneling adapter driver, take a try to uninstall and then reinstall it in
    Device Manager.
Error code 500 internal server error, if possible please have a share with a screenshot for this error message.
As it states, the error is based on the server side.

  • SOAP Invoke error: Status (500): Internal Server Error

I have a BLS with a WebService action.  I am testing the WebService call with each operation within the wsdl address.  I used the wsdl address to make the call.  I selected the only port available.  There are several operations available.  This WebService call is successful for all operations except for one.  The operation that fails, I get the following errors in the "ServletExec.log" for this one operation.  Can you tell me where the issue may be?
"SOAP Invoke error: Status (500): Internal Server Error"
"java.lang.Exception: Status (500): Internal Server Error"

    "at com.lighthammer.xacute.actions.webservice.WebServiceAction.Invoke(Unknown Source)"
    Thanks,

The Web Service had been "Reversed Engineered".  In doing this, the parameters had been changed in the Web Service.  This created a "break" on MII's side (i.e. MII was still trying to pass the authentication token to the parameter named "authenticationToken", instead of passing it to the parameter named "paramString1".).

You most likely will have a php error log and a server error log.  That will point you in the right direction.

    Hello Thomas,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with Safari when using Wi-Fi.  I would be concerned about this too.

  • " Error while sending message: 500 Internal Server Error" RNIF Adapter

    Hi,
I have configured B2B integration as   Sender : RNIF adapter &  Receiver: XI Adapter.
I am  able to test the configuration successfully in ESR and ID. But, whille testing with RWB using same test data, i am getting the following error:
Error while sending message: 500 Internal Server Errot.
Could you anybody help me, what could be the reason? Even i am not getting any error messages in SXMB_MONI.
    Thanks
    Laxman

    Hope this helps..
-Is the 500 internal SErver Error in RWB is only for this issue and the message is successfully processed in SXMB_MONI?
Could be the PI Service User :PIAFUSER(Adapter framework user) login crendential issue or run out time error.
Try taking the payload from sxmb_moni and enter  it in RWB > Adater engine> Test Message Tab > give proper sender interface information , enter payload and try sending message.   check what is behaviour
