Some windows in photoshop appear on second screen which is no longer there
Some software is still recognising a second screen which i no longer have. Palettes are unseen on my screen while all indications are that they are there. Reseting palette loction has no effect.

If I am not mistaken on this (I could be), these settings are stored in your Finder's preference file. Try moving it to your Desktop, then restarting your Finder. If the problem persists, you will probably want to move the old preference file back to its original location to preserve any settings you have accumulated. The file you want to move is this one:
/Users/HOME/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist

First, back up all data immediately, as your boot drive might be failing.
There are a few other possible causes of generalized slow performance that you can rule out easily.
Reset the System Management Controller.
If you have many image or video files on the Desktop with preview icons, move them to another folder.
If applicable, uncheck all boxes in the iCloud preference pane.
Disconnect all non-essential wired peripherals and remove aftermarket expansion cards, if any.
Check your keychains in Keychain Access for excessively duplicated items.
If you have more than one user account, you must be logged in as an administrator to carry out this step.
Launch the Console application in the same way you launched Activity Monitor. Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
Select the 50 or so most recent entries in the log. Copy them to the Clipboard (command-C). Paste into a reply to this message (command-V). You're looking for entries at the end of the log, not at the beginning.
When posting a log extract, be selective. Don't post more than is requested.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some personal information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting. That should be easy to do if your extract is not too long. -
On waking, some windows remain dark for 20 seconds
On my iMac running 10.9.4, when I awaken the screen, a window which was open (e.g. Mail or Safari) when the computer went to sleep remains black while the desktop around it is fully awake and populated. This is a relatively new problem. This morning, the desktop image (wave) and the Dock were present without any of the files/folders on the desktop for the same c. 20 seconds.
This isn't a serious problem for functionality, but I am worried that since it is a change in the computer's behavior, it may signal some other impending issue.
Ideas, anyone?I tried every one of the possible fixes in this. The only thing that works is running in safe mode, or just disabling all addons and extensions. It appears this newest version is not compatible with anything. A poster on here said going back to Version 3.6.13. Fortunately, I had it still saved in in my downloads, so I removed Firefox 6, reinstalled the old version, than turned off the auto updater. Does not hand at all now.

I accidently knocked some keys on my keyboard. I do not know which keys my hand knocked but it caused Firefox to go beyond my visible screen at the top. The base of Firefox is still okay and views correctly. But the head is missing I cannot access my menus items such as Bookmarks etc. The screen does drop down if I push my curser up but not enough to show the menu items. Can you please help?

All of a sudden, some apps do not appear on home screens on iPhone 4
Recently I noticed that several apps are not any screens, I have to do a search to find them. I thought that maybe I had too many apps, so I deleted some and nothing changed. What could cause this and how can put an app back on a screen? I have tried resetting my phone, by the way.

iTunes 11 is rapidly becoming a disaster for me. I have a dedicated Windows 7 machine running iTunes to service 3 Apple TV's, 2iPhones, 2iPods, and an iPad. Itunes 11 is very sluggish with my large library and has now started 'losing' files to the cloud. This means that music I purchased in 2005 is being removed from my library and subsequently seems to become available as a ne cloud download. This may well be because I convert all ACC files to MP3 and delete the ACC (my ears are too old to care about the reduction in quality). Either way, it's detrsoying my playlists and means I have to re-download files.
Does anyone know how to stop this? I have no interest in the cloud (my library is too big and contains hundreds of ripped CD's and Vinyl records that can't be matched).
ThanksBecause back in the early days very few devices supported AAC so converting to MP3 allowed me to use iTunes and other devices (like a $1000 dollar MP3 player with a 3.5" hard disk drive that pre-dated iPods ) as well as my gen 1 and 2 iPods. I can't hear the difference (I'm old...) so the files being smaller is still an advantage (even though I have 64Gb iPods and iPhones these days. Anyway, the major issue is iTunes deleting the MP3's and messing up my playlists because the file it downloads just goes in the library - not the original playlists. The secondary issue is how do I know it's truly replacing all the files it deletes. It's just scary and I don't like it.
BTW, I'm not anti-cloud and in fact use iCloud extensively with my iPhones/Apple TV's for photo sharing/backups but iCloud is useless for media sharing. I have just over 2tb of media data shared on my iTunes server (and remotely accessible on my iPhone/iPad using WebDav to my home server).
...and none of my media is pirated. I have crates of vinyl, CD's,DVD's, and Blu-Rays along with thousands of iTunes store receipts! -

They most likely got pushed to another page.Try swiping all the way from right to left.
Also folders in iOS now have pages. If these apps were infolders try swiping through the pages in the folder. -
I also recently installed Norton 360, but that was eliminated via Norton Help. They remoted in, removed Norton 360 and problem persisted - iPhone did not show on the "Computer" window, and no pop-up to download photos even with no antivirus installed. Norton help advised to uninstall and reinstall iTunes, which seemed a bit excessive. Any other fixes I can try before an uninstall and reinstall?
Your iPhone is in recoverty mode at the moment so to possibly get it back up and running you would need to do a restore as you have been trying. Follow the steps in the article below for the specific error messages you have been receiving. If after following all steps the issue remains book an appointment at a local Apple Retail Store to have the iPhone evaluated.

Ink Window Keeps randomly appearing!
Hey all.
A few months ago, I installed a new Wacom Bamboo Fun tablet to my white Intel iMac running Leopard, and set up Ink, which is great. However, recently, over about the last month, the Ink Window keeps randomly appearing on the screen. When I go to close it however, it is unresponsive. If I go up in to the Menu bar and click on the ink pen icon, then 'Show Ink Window', nothing appears to happen, but I can now close it... ...until the next time that it opens randomly.
It is completely random as far as I can tell, and not related to anything that I've noticed. I've tried turning Ink off and then back on again, and restarting the computer, but nothing seems to have resolved the problem.
If any of you know of how to solve this, or have any suggestions, I would be very appreciative of some help!

CubyI just began having the same problem with Ink and my Intuos 3. I've had it for a long time, and it just started happening today.
I also noticed it tends to happen when opening programs, but it seems to happen with just about any program, not just the specific ones.
I tried doing drawing in it, and it did require both drawing and writing in the window to get it to stop coming up when programs were launched.
I really don't know enough to help answer, but I can provide some computer info:

I have a major lag between typing and the letters appearing on my screen? Any suggestions?
When the key board appears on the screen I start typing, but there appears to be a major pause between the typing and the letters appearing on the screen. It started after updating my system some time ago. I have an ipad1.
Try reset all settings
Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings
Note: Data will not be affected but settings will be reset. -
Computer turns on but nothing appears on the screen

I have had this desktop computer for about 2 years. I usually use it almost daily and turn it off at the end of the day. Every few months or so the computer would turn on but nothing would appear on the screen. I would have to hold the power button to turn it off then turn in on a couple times or wait until the next day and the computer would turn on and everything would appear on the screen and work perfectly. Last week, the computer once again turned on but nothing appeared on the screen, except this time, after a week, the computer will now turn on except there is still nothing appearing on the screen. I no longer hear the fans running, however, I hear everything else running as normal. I have unplugged and re-plugged in all the cords multiple times and still, nothing.

all the other font sizes can be changed but this font size couldnt change..
i have used 5800 and it had a nice font size there..

The most likely reason for this would be that the display resolution has been changed. You should first make sure that it is set correctly (at the maximum, "native" resolution if an LCD) in System Preferences>Displays.
If the resolution has not been changed or set below the native resolution, then there's not much you can do beyond re-sizing windows as they appear. It shouldn't take too long to get everything back to normal.

Why are some jpg images scrambled when they appear in my screen saver? The same images look fine in Preview and Finder. Some images appear scrambled in the screen saver 'preview' window and the actual screen saver. Other jpg images look fine.
The desktop image is fine, taken from the exact same pool of jpg photos. However, as soon as the slide show screen saver comes on, the images are scrambled. What is it about the apple screen saver algorithm that scrambles the pics?

Black Window on second screen in Photoshop CS6
Hi Guys,
hope you can help me with the following issue.
Ive booted my computer up and started photoshop. i use a second screen, its installed automaticly on Mac OSX 1.8.
Now, when i drag the file to th second screen, it appears to become black. if i drag it back to my Home-Screen, the content appears.
resizing dont change anything as well as disable the graphic processor on photoshop.
btw, a second restart solves the issue. but i dont want to restart my machine everytime when i work on photoshop.

thanks guys.The feature as provided by Adobe may have bugs (I wouldn’t know) but it is one issue where bugs of the OS or the GPU drivers may mislead users to believe that there is a Photoshop bug when really it is somebofy else’s fault, but they only become apparent because Photoshop may make higher demands on certain components than other applications.
