Some XML files aren't created

Does anyone know why some XML files get created and the others don't using JSP. How do I debug this?

You're absolutely right! I wasn't sure how to state the problem in words:
I'm changing some servlet classes which are Java files. Do I need to compile those classes and associated classes in order to have the changes in effect? Or restarting Tomcat should do the compile Java classes by itself?

Source Reformat menu item disabled for some XML files, but not all

For some reason, the 'Reformat' option isn't available for some of my XML files (in Source menu it's disabled, in the right-click pop up menu it's not even there). For example in my META-INF folder it's enabled for .wsdl files but not .xml files. In the same project, it's enabled for all .xml files in the WEB-INF folder.
Any idea what's going on?

Thanks to everyone for their response. But - it is NOT a copyright issue , it is NOT a DRM issue, it is not a Faber College double secret probation encoding issue.
This is a simple .wmv file, that I have copied, burned, created a disk image, made a copy of and sent to the UK, Germany, Ireland and even New Jersey. It has been played on a MacBook Pro, a MacBook, a Dell whatever, a Sony stand alone DVD player, an LG DVD player. At least three nieces or nephews, and at least 2 canines have put it through ISO 9XXX rigors.
The problem is that Apple Quick Time 7 Pro with Flip4Mac Pro "can't handle it"
It opens fine, it plays fine --- but when I try to "output" it via the FILE menu - all of the options
Share ...
Export ...
Export to Web ...
are greyed out.
I know nothing abour codecs and wrappers but I tihnk that this is the problem.
What should I know about the file?
Ffor example, years ago, all you needed to know about a Mac file was the "Creator" and the "Type" - both were 4 character codes. something like ADOB for Adobe and PMK2 for Pagemaker 2.0.
Any help identifying the file and what I can use to get it onto my iPhone will be appreciated.

Some Virus Files that been created inside the Windows system file folder and System32 sytem file folder

I have here some copies of the files that I have retrieve inside the Windows folder and System32 system file folder. This files was created by a virus or some malware of some sort. Please take a closer look at thsi becasue this virus doesnt have a visible
events or something that you see at your screen to get you worried or to let you know that there is something bad happening on your system. I just cant get a copy of the virus file that is in a usb or a mass storage device of many students here in my internet
shop. And I'm worried even thou it does not do anything visible, I'm worried that it might made some security holes or privacy leaks that I can't seem to see it. Can't find the main program if it has one, because deleting the files seems to work but if my
computer plugs an infected usb device again the files comes back even thou the main virus file inside the usb device has been block and deleted by Avast, the files still is being created by some program of some sort inside the system, maybe it is already inside
the system or maybe not because the files will only be created if an infected usb device has been plug in even thou Avast has already detected the main .fat file inside the usb device still the files are created. I'm guessing this virus didn't penetrate the
system because full system scan came out clean twice. Boot time scan and start-up scan all users and all loaded to memory files also came out clean, but the files was already deleted before the scan so I don't know for sure of the result if these files were
scan. I just want to know why these files penetrated the Windows system folder even if my UAC is active, how come this virus has gain access to the system folder and bypassing the UAC, DEP and my Windows Defender. And also I'm gonna post in Avast forums about
this too.

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

Some .dmg files aren't recognized

Hi, I recently just got a new MacBook Pro, after being a PC all of my life. I really love it. Although I did find one problem.
I download GIMP from their website, the Mac version, of course. It downloads correctly, moves into my downloads folder. I click on it, and get the following error:

I did download the correct version.
This happens with some other programs, but some program downloads DO work. Such as AIM, I had downloaded that, and the installation worked.

The error means that the download did not complete intact. Try downloading the file again. This will happen on occasion if there is a connection problem between you and the server from which the file was downloaded.

I m not able to create xml file in Java Project

hi all,
I have created one java project just to try with Ant Builder. I have created one class inside it. and now i m creating an XML file inside that project.
But as soon as i try to create the File -> New -> File and give the .xml extention of the file this gives error into the project.
Will you suggest me the solution for that?

Assuming that you are facing this problem in NDS, here is the solution.
Go to Windows--> Preferences --> WorkBench -->File Associations
In the File Types list select *.xml
This will display the default associated XML editor as
XML Editor(default) in the bottom list box.
Click on add button near the bottom list box and select Text Editor, click Ok.You will see one more entry in the list box as "Text Editor".
Select this entry and click on the default button.
Click Ok and close the preferences dialogue.
Now create a new xml file.You wont see the error this time.
Please note that this will treat all simple xml files you will create as TEXT Files and always open with Text Editor.You can override this behaviour with right click on the file and select appropriate editor from the "Open With" context menu.
The error you are talking about is because the XML editor tries to check well-formedness and basic syntax rules for the file that you newly created, actually is a noce feature of the IDE.

Creating multiple XML files from Schema

We are extracting data from Oracle DB into XML using ODI. We are successful in generating the XML file, using command "create xmlfile <file name> from schema <Schema Name>, but the entire data comes in Single file.
Our database schema is relatively Huge and we would like to generate multiple XML files. We want to generate one file per particular number of records. Can anyone help to do this.

one solution i can think of is to use SQLX operator instead of dbms_xmlgen.
here is a sample example.

is same, when the deptno changes, close the file and open a new file with new

Note : in this way you will have to add the xmlprolog manually to each of the file which should not be an issue. after opening the file add the prolog string manually.

Dynamically creating reports with an xml file and a dataset??

I have an xml file I created called ReportFields.xml which looks like this:

I then create a blank crystal report and go into the Database Expert and choose ADO.NET DataSets, I browse to the xml file I just created, in this case ReportFields and give it a Class Name of ReportFields. Now under Database Fields, I have a ReportFields table with the following columns:
AccountNumber, FirstName, and LastName.
I drag AccountNumber onto the Details section of the report. I have a stored procedure I created called GetAccts which basically has the following syntax:
select top 50 a.Account_Number from tbAccounts.
Depending on which client database this is run against, it will obviously return different results. I am using the Microsoft Application Data Access Block from Enterprise Library 3.1 to Return a DataSet. Once I get the DataSet which would only have 1 table with 1 column (Account Numbers), how can I bind the AccountNumber field on the report to what is returned in the DataSet?

Can an XML file be converted into something I can merge?

Hello, all. I'm trying to help my coworker, Dolly, solve a problem with LiveCycle, but confess up front that I know little about it. I frequent these forums to help and get help with other programs (Photoshop, InDesign, AfterEffects, etc.), but I usually generate my PDFs from within these design applications and rarely deal directly with Acrobat. Dolly doesn't really know how to use these forums and I've never used LiveCycle, so I'll attempt to translate her problem, which is this ...
Dolly asked me to help her merge pages from Doc B into Doc A, which is a pretty basic function in Acrobat and one that I'm familiar with. When I attempted to do the merge I got an error warning that Doc A was an XML file and couldn't be merged. I'm not sure what makes it an XML file and neither does Dolly. I had her show me her save options and was offered a couple of "Static PDF" formats in additon to the XML and several others which didn't seem relevant. I had her re-save Doc A in the static formats, but when I tried to merge into these was given the same error telling me they were XML files. Dolly created Doc A from scratch with LiveCycle. Doc B was created by someone else from an InDesign file.
So, I'm not sure how to advise her, but it would seem that the solution is to get the file to save as a PDF that isn't some kind of an XML file. I'm aware of XML as web formatting, but am unsure how it relates to this PDF that has no fill-in fields or other interactivity that I can see. It's strictly a print file.
Can anyone offer any insight that would help me help Dolly? If so, I have a bonus question, but one thing at a time! My sincere thanks in advance for any help.

That depends what the business need is.
Forms can be made directly in Acrobat, but they will be a different
kind of form, with a different feature set. You'd need to look at what
your coworker's exacy requirements are.

If this is the sort of requirement you have, it may well be that the
original decision to use LiveCycle (a decision which Acrobat
encourages you to make without giving enough information to make an
informed decision) was not the right one.
LiveCycle Designer is about making interactive business forms. That's
all.

EHP4 - Stack XML file related issue

Hi,
I have the following two issues from DSWP tcode (or solution_manager):
1. From DSWP code -> Change Management -> Maintenance Optimizer, New
Maintenance Transaction and i select the ERP system , then i select the radio button Enhancement Package Installation after which it is showing a drop down from where i can
select EHP4 installation and second drop down i can select support
stack 03. But if i do the same thing again by coming out and going back
in on the same day it is showing only support stack 01, Next day again
for one time it is showing.. --- Why is it like this ?
2. Also after selecting the EHP4 version, support stack 03 it log's on
to the ERP system and it comes out with lot of components from
which if i select some of them and deselect some of them as per our
need, it continues to next screen and confirms the file from download
manager and also the XML file gets's created but unfortunately the XML
file contains all components including the one we deselect because of
which we ended up in doing all shown components last week. We
are in a stage of applying another technical usage and the xml is
created with all the components again. Any idea how to avoid this ?

Hi,
The problem might be configuration of your system in SMSY transaction ...Because if some componenets you have selected there will come as selected by default...
Moreover go to SAP Note 1134872 - Maintenance Optimizer: FAQ for Stack Delta Files and related sap note to this note which contains problems related to MOPZ and stack xml file..

Query in a large xml file

Hello,
I'm trying to work with very large xml files which are created from csv files. These files may be very large - up to 1 GB ! Untill now I have managed to do several validations on these big xml files, and the only thing that works for me is SAX parser, DOM is out of the question because it fills up memory.
My next task is to do queries on these files, smth like:
select field1,field2 from file.xml
where field3 = 'A'
and (fileld4>'B' or field1='C')
order by field2.
I searched the net about finding out how to make queries on xml files (since I have never done queries on xml before), but I couldn't find which "query language" is best for large files. If I use XPath (XSLT) will that not cause me memory problems because XSLT represents the file as a memory object?
My idea is to parse the file with SAX and check every row if it fits the where condition and then write it immediately to a result xml file. But validating the where statement can be very complicated without using some tool. Also the order by statement is another problematic issue.
Does anyone have some more intelegent ideas about how I can do this? Please help! :(

Thank you very much for your replies.
First, saxon didn't work because it uses an in-memory parser, and that is what I was trying to avoid.
Different database is also out of the question, because the customer insist on XML, and also there are some files that can never be converted to a database table, because eventually with some transformations thay are changed and are not completely like the standard csv format.
I think that maybe http://exist.sourceforge.net is the rigth solution for me, but I will probably try it in the next version of my project.
For now I have managed to make the project with only SAXParser and a lot of back - end programming and it works ok, althoug it was very hard to make it, and will be harded to maintain, so I will try to look at the eXist project.
