Songs wont edit to ringtones

OK so the ringtone logo popped up today and i have tried and tried to get some. I have been asked to renew terms of service and logged in now about 100 times. I click the song in my purchases and then go Store> Create Ringtone. The edit screen pops up just long enough to make it to its peak then drops back down. I am never given the chance to even edit. on other songs it will tell me this can no longer be made into a ringtone. but for a vast majority of them it will access music store and a split second later nothing happens. Somewhat frustrating as I want my ringtones. I have reinstalled itunes as well and same problem. any thoughts?

I noticed that any song I purchased in or after Oct 2005 works. Any song purchased before Oct 2005 doesn't. Don't know if that's a coincidence, but that's how it plays out with my system and purchases. The old purchases (even though they're in the Purchased category) don't seem to work, even though they have a Bell icon next to them.

Iphone ringtones, original songs wont play fully

Hi,
I have several of my songs in Itunes as ringtones, which I managed to do by downloading an ap to convert them. They work great as ringtones but problem is the original songs in Itunes wont play fully, they start wherever you have the ringtone starting on the track and end when the ringtone does, therefore never fully playing a track.
Any suggestions how I can keep my ringtones but also still get the songs to play fully when I listen to my ipod on the Iphone.
The Ap I used is just called "Ringtones" but is blue with a yellow star.

No one knows for sure what causes this but there are some workarounds...Try #3 first as it is the easiest.
#1 Delete those songs from itunes and re-rip them from the CD into itunes and sync your ipod.
#2 Convert those songs into another format. Adjust your settings however you wish in Itunes > Edit > Preferences > Advanced > Importing. Choose whatever format and settings you like then, Right-Click on the song(s) and "Convert Selection To XXX", where XXX is the format you've selected. Sync and try it.
NOTE: Doing this method degrades the sound quality of the file(s) as you're essentially making a copy of a copy. Whether it is acceptable to your ears or not is up to them.
#3 This workaround has helped some. If they're unprotected MP3 files then, using itunes, strip them of their ID3 Tags. Right Click on the song(s), click "Convert ID3 Tags", click "None". Then, do it all over again only this time, choose a version, usually v2.3. Sync and try it.
NOTE: Stripping them of their ID3 Tags will delete the artwork and lyrics of the associated songs, but they are easily replaceable.

Ipod songs wont play

I have had my 80gb Ipod for about 6 months now and have had no problems with it untill now. i have not dropped it or damaged it in anyway. i recently got a new hard plastic case for it and it and now the songs wont play. at first 1 song would play then after it was done it would skip to a random song in that album and not play, then it would play some songs and not others. i have not DL any new programs, music, games or anything on it for weeks. i have like 10,000 songs on it and it has taken me a long time to do so, so i dont wanna reset it, is there any other way to fix this?

Grey text when you look at the content and lock symbol at the bottom of the screen simply shows that your iPod is set to "automatically update songs and playlists". . If you want to access your iPod directly, play it through your iTunes, connect it to a second computer etc. you just need to change the update method to "Manually manage songs and Playlists" in the iPod preferences. One thing to be aware of with manually updating is that the iPod also has to be manually ejected before the "Do Not Disconnect" message will go away. Safely disconnect iPod

The iPod offers three ways to transfer music from your computer. You can select one of the following update modes from the iPod Preferences menu in iTunes (Edit>Preferences>iPod>Music tab):

2) Automatically update selected playlists only. With this option, iTunes automatically copies the playlists you have selected to the iPod when you connect it to the computer.
3) Manually manage songs and playlists. You can also choose to transfer music to the iPod manually. This allows you to drag and drop individual songs and playlists from iTunes to the iPod.

If the songs are still on your ipod, make sure autosync is disabled in iTunes on your computer, connect and right click on it in the device list, then choose "transfer purchases" to copy all bought media and apps from your ipod to your computer.
If the songs are not on your computer and got deleted from your ipod as well, you can't get them back, unless you have a backup of your iTunes library as part of your computer backup.

SONG WONT PLAY ON ITUNES

on march 24th i believe or recently i purchased the new KIP MOORE CD. and it is amazing. and been listening to it non stop ever since. well just last night when i was listening to the cd on my ipod i realized the first song kept getting skipped. so when i got home i got on itunes and clicked it. the pop up came up saying you are not authorized to play this song. so i signed in. and it tells me that i my computer is already autherized. and skips to the next song. so i was reading and i read to deauthorized everything i did that. and still same thing. so what do i need to do now. is there some way to fix this. ... now i did download it last night to my laptop. and it plays but on my iPod and main computer the song wont play at all. wont even burn to a cd to listening to it.. please help me. i wouldnt mind if it was a song that sucked but it is an amazing song. thanks.

ap, have you moved the song files on your computer that have the exclamation point next to them? Try playing them in iTunes and see if a window doesn't come up asking you to locate the file. Also, there might be something wrong with the song file that is keeping iTunes from syncing it to your iPod. Do all these songs have something in common that you might recognize?

9 songs wont play

Hi... just bought the album "Capture/Release" by The Rakes.
And for some reason I can't play 9 songs: 22 Grand Job, Open Book, The Guilt, Binary Love, We Are All Animals, Violent, Terror!, Work Work Work (Pub Club Sleep), All Too Human.
These songs are on my iPod but when I press play nothing happens. While the 3 remaining songs (Strasbourg, Retreat, T Bone) everything is normal.
I emailed support... and no offense to them but they gave me a crappy service. Maybe they think everybody has an iPod Shuffle, by just giving me the iPod Reset Utility for that model.
So I tried to reset my iPod through iTunes and didn't work.
Then I used another iPod... and songs wont play.
I emailed support again and apparently they are just going to ignore me.
So can you help me?!

This probably doesn't help, per say, but it'll enlighten you.
I got an iTunes gift card for xmas for $25 this past season. I used it, tried to download my movies, nothing happened. When I went back to look, my account claimed I DID download them. Being that you can't download more than once, I obviously couldn't try again. So $25 went to Apple and I didn't get a single leased tune, TV show, or movie from them. I saw leased because it's not truly ownership, they have too many limitations that real ownership doesn't contain.
So long story short, I contacted Apple a few times and they've ignored me as well. I even told them I've spoken to my attorney and promised suit for not just this incident, but incidences that have cost me thousands of dollars in the past. Would you believe they still haven't replied? Let's hope they have a good excuse in court.

If the songs are greyed out, you may have set up automatic syncing with a different iTunes library.
Set your iPod to sync manually, as described here:

TS1702 song wont play

Hi, I downloaded a song on via my iphone 4S. When I synched it up to my macbook, the song wont play on either my macbook or iphone. The message states 'you must authorise song on this device'. I then type in my password and it states '5 out of 5 devices authorised'. This is obviously wrong because I only have it on two devices and second of all, why is this such a massive pile of ****? I pay £1800 for a mac book, £700 for a top of the range iphone 4S and then pay 99p for a song and cant play it on any device. If I had bought the CD, I could have put it on as many devices as I like and given it to as many people as I like. Can somone please tell me how I can either get my money back for the song or get it to play? Also, several music videos I have downloaded, stop after the first 30 seconds and wont play. Any help would be most appreciated. Many thanks.

Delete the track from the iTunes library, allowing iTunes to move the track files to the Trash. Then download the track again from the iTunes Store via this procedure:

Downloaded an album and half of the songs wont play.

I downloaded The Fault in Our Stars album and most of the songs wont play, it just skips to a song that actually works.

I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the entries, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.
(Not entirely sure what happens after you click that link, but fingers crossed it should be relatively straightforward.)

Purchased songs wont burn to CD

I purchased songs on iTunes and try to burn to CD. It says the songs wont fit on a CD. They are in an ACC file mode and I can't burn in MP3 mode. Can I change the format of the songs?

I tried burning songs purchased from iTunes onto a MP3 CD. I received the message that 27 of the songs (all purchased from iTunes) couldn't burn because they are in AAC format. A friend said to click Advanced and click the option to convert to MP3. Under Advanced, all I found was an option to convert to AAC. The songs are already in ACC! How do I convert these songs to MP3 so I can burn an MP3 CD? Any help is much appreciated!

Specific song wont work in iMovie?

I am working on a long movie in iMovie, approx 1.5 hours. Adding music to it currently and all has been working just fine. I added a song and edited a bunch of pictures to time to the music and then when replaying it the audio suddenly stopped and iMovie nearly froze it was so slow. I restarted and played the whole movie, which works fine until it gets to the specific problem song, at which point it plays no audio. Looking at the "sound waves" it has no sound to it. I tried deleting and replacing the music file, no dice.
So I removed the movie from my current playlist that I was pulling it from, and tried to reload it all over again into iMovie. Again same problem. I have placed other tracks in place of this one in the movie and they all work just fine, but I want this specific song to work here...anyone have thoughts on what could be causing this?

It's hard sometimes to guess what's happened. But there is a workaround that might get that audio clip working. Most often converting it to an 16bit AIFF file (uncompressed) will be enough to allow iMovie to play it back. Even in a large project like they one you are making. Do you know what file format it is in now?

Help my songs wont play on my nano

I've just spend the last 2 days recording all my old CDs onto my PS3 and then transfered them onto my netbook and my new nano. I did it this way because my netbook doesn't have a CD drive to copy them directly.
I though i'd finished but then I realised the songs wont actually play on my ipod. They have transfered onto it, titles and all but they wont actually play. When I press play to cover art comes up and even the bar at the bottom that tells you how long the song is, but it wont actually play.
All the songs are playing fine on itunes its just the ones on the ipod that are the problem. I imported a few songs using home sharing and these are the only ones that seem to be playing back ok on the ipod.
Does anyone have any ideas please? I hate to think I wasted all that time importing them

Check to see if you can play sound with other programs. I did this and found that none of my audio worked. The problem wasn't with iTunes (even though the iTunes error message indicated that it was).
I fixed by audio output and everything is working fine.
