Soooo, any chance of you guys EVER bringing back trade-in promos on games again?

It seems like forever since you guys did an actual trade-in promo on games and when you did it was the lowest amount possible(30%). Any chance we'll actually see the good trade promos make a comeback or are game trade-ins pretty much done and buried at this point(as is evidenced by the laughable disc only and pretty barren pre-owned sections at my closest store)?
While we're at it, how about a return to halfway decent trade in values to go with any promotions? :-P Not that I'm not excited beyond belief at getting $2 for (insert semi recent game name here) plus my extra $.20 for being a GCU member.

Hey CheapestGamer,
While we generally can’t speak to any upcoming promotions or anything like that, I can certainly say that I agree with you here. I usually wait until a solid trade-in promotion to trade my games in and I can understand where you’re coming from in regards to that bonus only being 30% recently. It's definitely better than nothing, though!
With that said, this fall is going to be insanely busy with all of the upcoming gaming releases, so I’m pretty confident we’ll be running some trade-in promotions to coincide with said releases. Here’s to hoping for a 50% bonus, or even higher!
Cheers,

  • You guys ever used an iP

I've got a Zen Micro and the only real thing I found rather cool with the iPods is the games, I love those brick games
It'd be cool if we could have some games or something to put on the MP3 players or have them open source like graphing calculators. Small games don't require much CPU power and it mnight get more people to buy a Zen Micro or something if games could be written for it and transferred unto it via Media Source or the Zen Explorer. Would be cool to play snake on it or something :P
And i don't know if some of you guys have any sort of graphing calculator but they came out with a USB driver for the TI-84+ & SE which enables you to hook up any sort of USB device that uses the same amount of power and make it work, so maybe we could hook up mini WiFi enteneas or something and then start playing wireless. This is a bit far fetched but w/e

Yes, I've used an iPod. I think the games, contacts and calendar are a complete waste of time. I use a PDA for that stuff. I also don't need appointments, etc. on my cell phone. Another waste. iPod should worry about working with subscription music services or something useful concerning music. Every gadget is trying to do everything, none of it very well. I have been suckered into phones with games (Nokia), a watch with contacts and calendar (Timex DataLink), phone with calendar appointments (Samsung) and various other "convergence" products. All have been so poor at these additional functions I gave them all up. Even the Treo Smartphone (and other smartphones) are lousy phones and lousy PDAs. You're better off carry 2 items. Get one of those new Sony things that plays music, video and games. That sounds like something you might like (not meant to be offensi've). I would MUCH rather have Creative focus their energy on updating the firmware of the Zen Touch, adding Audible support to more players and generally focusing on the audio part of their players without all the marginally useful junk they put on some of them.
Well, for some people who don't use cell phones too much (like me for instance) and other stuff, i wouldn't having the calendar and contacts. But games!!! that's a whole new story. I don't think it would be good idea to have games on ZM and mp3 players. IT will probably decrease your battery life, not user friendly because of the trackpad and bottons and all.
    Topic of iPods:
Yes, i have used iPods several times, they have a different system and stuff fromt eh ZM and Creative. But! I own a ZM because i like the Zm's features. I bought the ZM because it fitted my needs the best.

  • Hey, any of you guys ever seen one of these?

    http://www.cme-pro.com/products-list/product-u2mic.html
So dig this, it's like the rabbit out of the hat some guy pulls over on the Sound. Pro discussion board.
Then boom it's a strafish and gone, but the OP never says that he found it, in fact the opposite. I refreshed the list over there in case it gets posted I'll let you know. But it's molasses at IS's house in January all the time over there so don't hold your breath.
But this is how I'm thinking, it's a choice between a $130 MXL [Marshall] USB mic, a moderate quality mic, and plugging in something as sweet as like my old Shure beta green condenser, and there's no comparison, the latter is a total slam.

    Hi.
It the best mic for the price, hands down.
I won't lie to you, it does not sound "like" a vintage mic, because it is a new microphone. Old battered circuitry can never be really dupplicated correctly. I like to use the word ""vintage" to describe a wine, because that is what the words is for. when I describe a mic, I use the model name. And if it's a old mic, then I try to use the year it was made, as reference.
If you ever see an advert for something that claims to be "vintage" it better be a wine bottle.
so, after my lovely rant about vintage-ness, here' some of my opinion on that Mic (V69):
It does have a great sound of it own, which easily can make vocal recordings sound more present, warmer (ie more low end) and fuller, as it does the proximity effect very nicely. Especially on female vocals.
Another thing I like about it is the fact that it does NOT hype the high end. In true tube mic fashion, it actually attenuates the high end a little, making for a smoother response. You no longer have to either turn up the bass, nor turn down the high end, to make a better frequency balance in you recording.
One typical setup I use them for is an acoustic guitar. In this case I pair one V69 to a pencil condenser, a neumann KM84, and blend the two to a mono track. Here is why I do this:
The V69 takes care of all the low end, and most of the midrange. It captures the fullness of the guitar.
The neumann KM84 is there to capture the high top end, and some more of the upper midrange.
I use the KM84 like the focus dial on a camera lens. Do you want the guitar more "detailed and present"? You add a little more KM84. You want a more "diffuse and ambient" sound? Then lessen the level of the KM84.
But always, the V69 is there to capture the bulk of the guitar sound. It is the one that gets the "meat" of the sound. the KM84 captures the "gravy".
without the good meat, the gravy doesn't mean much...
There's a reason my moniker is "noeqplease": I like to get the sound there before applying an EQ. EQ to me is for lessening unwanted frequencies, like rumble, or too much top end. Or a "honking" note. AFTER having recorded the sound as close to the original as possible. This has always made for a FAR better and easier mixing and mastering experience down the road.
    Cheers

  • HT5527 Any chance that iCloud will ever be extended to Snow Leopard users?

There are some of us dinosaurs out here who prefer not to upgrade to Mountain Lion on our Macs and miss the ability to sync all our devices...

How much do you want this?
Mail can be used with Snow Leopard, it's a normal Imap account.
Contacts and Calendars can be used by purchasing Soho Organizer, it's $99.99 so you may not want to spend that much.
Forget the rest of the iCloud services, they won't work.
As Kappy said, waiting for iCloud to be supported by Snow Leopard will be infinite, breath holding not recomended.

  • How can i locate my ipod some stole it and i located it with the app called find my iphone and it says that it is "offline" is there any chance that i could get it back ?

    black

    Not likely
    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
    - You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have to iPod play a sound via iCloud.
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
    - There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it.
    - Apple will do nothing

What were you guys thinking or not thinking?
We recieved the new guid update it terrible. it's a pail blue with white text, a smaller text size , and it stayson screen for 3 seconds you couldn't read it if you could see it w/the white on light color. do you guys ever look at demmographics the largest sement of population are baby boomers , hello has anyone heard of age related blindness or at least decline. the old info bar stayed on longer so you had a chance to read it and the font size was large enough, and color contrast allowed me  to read from the next room  now you have to be on top of the tv. and keep hitting the button to read it. are you guys trying to give people another reason to leave if so you're doing a darn good job!

I agree 100%. This is absolutely ridiculous. Bring back the old format, if this is the best you can do. This extremely difficult to read.

  • Would you guys price match THIS sale price?

    {removed per forum guidelines}
I have a Best Buy gift card and I'd rather buy it from your company than Sears.
But I know if I go in store to attempt a price match I'm going to get one snippy rep or another making a comment about how it's 'too much of a discount' like when I asked them to PM Wolfenstein: The New Order last week. Kmart had it for $20 in store, you guys had it at $60, even though I'm pretty sure MSRP has gone down to at least $40 by now on it.
Anyway, any ideas if you guys would match that Dual Shock 3 I linked above? It's priced currently at $15.65 from Sears.com and as of the time this thread is being created(3:17am EST 12/14/14) it is still in stock and available for shipping as well as in stock to buy at my closest Sears store.

    Hi CheapestGamer,
I'm sorry for our delay to your post. We're doing our best to reach everyone who has contacted us. I'm also sorry you weren't able to get your price match approved; unfortunately, it sounds like we made reasonable efforts to verify its availability at Sears, but we had to deny your request based on the information we were given. Still, I'm glad you were able to find the items you were looking for, even if they weren't purchased from us.
    Thanks for sharing your story.

  • Any chance for hebrew suppor

Any chance for hebrew support by your MP3 players in the future ?
I mean the ability of the player to display hebrew ID3tags...
    Thanks.

I am stuck with moving objects/tables/spry around the page.
Sorry but DW is not a drag & drop application like Photoshop.   Owing to all the different browsers and web devices these days, there is no such thing as perfect WYSIWYG in Design View.   Use Split View with Live View.  That way you can see a valid representation of your page in one panel while you edit code in the other.
Being able to work with code is essential.  There's no way around it, especially for a project this advanced.
I am also ''fighting'' to connect dreamweaver database to WAMP in order to make the login form work .
    Is Wamp server online?
    Did you start all services?
By any chance, do you have Skype installed on your computer?
Skype reserves port 80 for its incoming connection which conflicts with WAMP, so simply configure Skype to use another port:
Open Skype, go to Tools|Options|Advanced|Connection uncheck the option --> Use port 80 and 443 as alternatives for incoming connections, that's it.
Close Skype.  Restart Skype and Restart all services on WAMP by doing the following:
Left-click WAMP tray icon > Restart All Services"
Now Wamp and Skype can co-exist without conflict.

  • Bring back the 12 month devise installment plan.

You need to bring back the 12 month devise installment plan. I am grandfathered into the unlimited data plan and do not want to give it up, so the edge plan is out of the question. I cannot afford to pay full price for a phone and accessories. the installment plan helped me tremendously in my purchase of a new devise withOUT, changing my plan and coming greatly out of pocket. HELP!!!
I have been a VZW customer for more than 12 yrs. The devise installment plan, unlimited data plan that I have and great service, are just a few of the reasons i an still with VZW. Please remain competitive and re-offer this service.

Who cares what my data plan is? Has nothing to do with my opinion on unlimited data. I could of had it. Chose not to, didn't need it. Still don't. I use maybe 500 MB per month.
The point is Verizon wants to get rid of it. And has been getting rid of it piecemeal for years. My point is if they are  going to do it, just do it. Like pulling a band-aid off. You just rip it off you don't try to finesse it. Just dumping it gets rid of all the 'How can I still get a discounted upgrade" threads also gets rid of the "Verizon tricked me into giving up unlimited data" threads.
Will people get mad? yes. They get mad now. What's the difference? Heck offer them 10 GB per line bonus for 2 years for each unlimited data line as a gesture. The ones that leave likely use the most data and that will actually help if they left.

  • Bring back the Filter option in Search results

Well, not only Sorting is messed up (removed) from the latest realease of Spotify, filtering is as well. You can no longer filter (ctrl-F/cmd-F) your search results, and, as with many other great features killed without explanation, we want this one back as well. Thanks!
PS. You can manually bring back the old search - including sorting and filter options - if you write "spotify:search:[search term]" in the search field.

Is there a business reason why this feature hasn't returned, despite a huge number of complaints?  (Matt Suda - does he work for Spotify? - writes in this thread that it is coming back but its status is still "Watch this space" in the monthly ideas review).   I can think of a few business model reasons that Spotify doesn't want its customers to have filter/search.  For example: 1- I bet it's reduced the amount of use by customers like me, so the business gets the "Health Club" revenue stream - loads of subscribers who don't use the service much.  2-  Perhaps its a way of increasing use of the Facebook aspect of Spotify and so creating more advertising revenue.   If we are wasting our time and effort asking for the return of this feature then please, Spotify, just tell us and we will vote with our wallets after examining the competition.

  • Any chance you are bringing back the Status Bar?

Any chance you are bringing back the Status Bar, because all updates past FF28 don't have the Status Bar which is where most of my favorite Addons are located (such as eQuake Alert and ForecastFox. This is really annoying. I've had to turn off auto update because of this and stay with FF28. I'm sure one day FF28 will become obsolete and then I won't be able to use my Addons.

'''''"Any chance you are bringing back the Status Bar?"'''''
Little to no chance of that happening. As you are well aware, there is one or more extensions that restore the Add-on Bar to Firefox 29 + versions.
