Sort Functionality in Advanced table.

Dear Friends,
I have a OAF page developed with advance table region which has around 7 columns .
under every column i have created a "sortable header field " also i had set the sort allowed property to TRUE ,
but still when ever i click on sort button i am unable to sort the column in a advanced table .
Please give me your suggestion .

When you set sort allowed property to true , the column header has a sort image which when clicked reverses the sort directions.
Need to create separate headers for the purpose of sorting.

hi all, i have a advanced table with some data populated, all the rows has a checkbox where the user can select the rows which he wants, my requirement is how to implement copy functionality, i,e i need to show the same set of rows which the user selected in the same advanced table. can any one give me an idea of how to do this

You can copy the key of the selected rows to the copy page and based on those keys render the rows. On this copy page, once user commits after any modification to data, read those rows and save with new keys.

Sorting issue in Advance table region

Hi All,
Facing issue in sorting.
I have an advance table region , I have set the property
Sort Allowed : Yes ; Sort By View Attribute : View attribute Name
This is working for all the columns but it is failing for date columns.
Data is not getting sorted for date columns.
Output format of Date is : 09-Feb13 09:08:01
Please help.

Find & sort function in UDO table

Dear experts,
I have created a standard document UDO using Object registration wizard. I have ticked "find" combobox in modifying services. But when i open the UDO table, the "find" button in toolbar is not active.
how can i activate the find button with some kind of find mode or find option? because i want to find a specific data in the UDO table
and how can i sort the column alphabetically?

Thanks for the prompt answer. I've already did all of your suggestions but it is still not working. The problem is that i want to find specific customer in the UDO table from about thousands of existing business partners. how can i find a specific customer with some kind of "find" function? because when i open the UDO table, the find button in the toolbar is not active & i can't use it. And one more question, how can i sort the column alphabetticaly in the UDO table? because it can make us easier to find the customers by alphabet, if we can't use "find" function & we will use this method as alternative.

Get Total of a Column of Advanced Table and use it in Controller in OAF

I have an advanced table on my custom page. I am calculating total of a column in my footer. I am acheiving this using the standard functionality of advanced table by setting total value property of my column to "TRUE" and displaying the total in the tablefooter components.
In addition to this I want to retreive the total value from my footer and use it in my Controller for further validations but I am not able to acheive this.
I tried some code already present in the Community for the same but nothing turned out right for me.
Can anyone please help me on this.

You can manually add the values of each row of a column and make use of the value obtained in your controller .
Here is the logic ,
1) get the vo instnace attached to that table .
2) Loop through every single row in the table .
3) get the value and sum up the value and use it in your controller .

Sort up down icon missing after implementing sort functionality

Hi,
I have implemented sort functionality for a table, and it is working fine, but there is no sortable icon available on the table column.
The icon with the up/down arrow is missing. Once the sorting is over, the sorted icon apears on the screen. But the up/down sort icon should appear on the column header so that it is intutive and people know that the table columns are sortable.
What am i doing wrong ? How can I get the icon ?

This is really important, The sort functionality is working fine but the up and down arrow icon is missing on the table.

How to sort data in results table(advanced table) based on some conditons

I have a requirement like below I have 3 search columns and 3 sort columns in the page. when user enter values in the search columns I will get results into advanced table. After I got results into results table. User will enter values in sort columns and hit sort submit button, Now the final results data should first display the selected sort values first and remaining data in alphabetical order.
ex: select a,b,c form table1 where a = nvl(:1,a) and b = nvl(:2,b)
results from main query
a , b,c,d,e,f
now user selects a value a1 in column a then results from main query data should display the a1 records first and remaining all records in alphabetical order.
Please let me know how can we approach to solve this problem.

Set the OrderByClause in your voImpl():
the following is the description of OrderByClause method :
setOrderByClause
public void setOrderByClause(java.lang.String expr)
Sets the ORDER BY clause of the View Object's query statement. Bind variables can be specified using '?' as a place-holder for the value. The new ORDER BY clause does not take effect until ViewObjectImpl.executeQuery() is called.

Want to change the default sort order of a Advanced table

Hi all ,
Hope all of you doing good.
I am trying to change the deafult sort order of a " View Applicants" advanced table on Irecruitment selfservice page , using personalization feature but its not sorting as expected.
The default sort order is asc by the name of the applicants. I wanted to override it by " Date Applied " desc using personalizing the advanced table.
But its not sorting by Date applied and still shows the sort by applicant name.
Any inputs will be greatly helpful
I am using the Oracle Apps 11.5.10 version.

Hey guys m I got the answer for the below question.
Oracle have few Restriction and limitation on such Advanced table in sorting the data,
Few of them are as mentioned below ...
1. Sorting is not allowed for tables that allow inserts.
2. Sorting is not supported for tables containing updateable columns
3. Sorting is disabled when the Select column is checked for a row in a table or when Hide/Show is present in a table.
Because of the above limitations , we cannot sort or override the existing alphabetical name sort order to Date applied sort order on the View Applicant advanced table.
You can observe that , View Applicant page is having an option called "Update Status" which allow us to update applicant’s status or rating in the Advanced table.
On such updatable advanced tables, oracle does not allow us to override the sort order on any of the table columns.
Keeping it in a nutshell , I can say it's does not allow us to change the sort order of the view applicant advanced table ( which is having updateable columns ) to sort them in Date applied instead of Name( which is default ).

Problem in sorting Advanced Table

Hi,
I unable to sort the data in advanced table.The data in the table is populated from an external LOV.When i set the initial sort sequence attribute of the sortable column of the table it is sorting in desecnding order by default.How to sort the data in the ascending order.Please help me it is very urgent.

The sorting on the table is done by adding the order by clauase and then re querying the vo.
However here the data is coming from an LOV not from VO.
Hence what you need to do is add the order by clause to the VO of the multiselect LOV.
By making the LOV columns sortable (OR ASCENDING BY DEFAULT) and then sorting them in ascending order, see what comes to the base page?..
IF sorting on lov does not suffices and the need is to provide sorting on the base table is also needed then my suggestion is to associate the same vo of the lov with the advanced table (or put the same query of the lov vo for the advanced table vo)

No there is no Transient attribute involved , could you please tell me what might cause this error .
Basically this page is for inserting a record.

Sort functionality using MULTIPLE columns in a table control

Hi all,
I have a custom screen with table control.Now i need to provide SORT functinality in this screen for the columns in the table control.
My questins:
1.Is it possible to seelct MULTIPLE columns in a table control for SORTING?If yes,what explicit settings do i need to do while creatng the TABEL CONTROL in the screen?DO I need to select "Column selection " as MULTIPLE??
2.How do I write the code for SORT functinonality for multiple columns?
I know how to write the code for SORTING on basis of single column .

Sort functionality in Data Grid

Hi Gurus,
I am new to this DataGrid control.I want to establish the sort functionality when clicking on the headercolumns as in matrices.
(ie.When double clicking the header column , sort the data in ascending or descending order of that column) like in system form matrices.
How ever this is not possible when I tried with grid control.
The problem I am facing is that I cannot get the column headers of the grid programmatically.(in duble click event or itempressed event)
Anybody did this one previously? Also how
we can change the column order of the grid using screen painter?
The columns that actually come visible in the grid are actually columns of the linked datatable object.
In the designer ,there is no "swap" button for column re-ordering.
Only one way I know is changing the query associated with datatable.
This is a crucial thing ,since client may ask for re-ordering of columns frequently.
Can anybody help?

Hi Deepesh,
1. This functionality is not available with the SDK. Thus it's not possible to change it on the fly. Your only option is to change the query associated with datatable (as you mentioned). You may set up a user preference table, that the user can configure with its preference. That's the best you can do.
2. To swap the columns in screen painter you must use SBO 2005 (it's not available on previous release). What you must do is, click on the one column you want to swap and the other you want to swap and click on the swap button (on the left bottom of the page in the columns tab)

How to get current row of Advanced table with no submit

I have an advanced table with an 'Add another button'. When an empty row is created by clicking this button, LOV is used on the first column to populate other fields of the row. The rows of the table carry a button called "Add dependencies" whose functionality is to take the user to a different table to add rows to a different VO. This button is just a button and not a submitButton. I am passing the row's primary key as part of the URI as Vo attribute FdTaskId={@FdTaskId}
The button works perfectly fine for database fetched rows (rows already present in the database), but, for the rows created using 'Add Another button', though LOV populates all fields including the primary key, the URI parameter passes null to the next page. That means, the VO attribute is not set. This works fine only when a 'submit' happens in the first page. For example, if I click Add another row again, then the previously inserted row passes the primary key fine as part of {@FdTaskId}.
Could you please help me how I can resolve this issue?

I am doing exactly that. My issues is that, VO attribute is passed correct for the table rows which are fetched from the database. For the table rows which got created through 'Add Another button', the VO attribute passed through URI as {@FdTaskId} is returning null. The VO attribute sets only when a form submit happens. For example, after adding a row through 'Add another row' button, click the same button again to add one more row and now go back to previously added row and now you can see that its VO attribute is set ({@FdTaskId} carries value )

How to change VO's dynamically for a item for each row in advanced table?

Hi All,
We had a requirement to filter the employees based on the search criteria table. I am using advanced table for developing search criteria.
In that table I am having three columns. Operator (messagechoice), Criteria Type (messagechoice), and Criteria value (messageLovInput). Also 'Add Another Row' functionality is available.
My requirement is:
First Row:(Initial Row)
When the user selects a value in Criteria Type, only the values that are relevant to that type should be displayed in the Criteria Value.
Second Row: (when the user selects Add Another Row button)
When the user selects a value in Criteria Type, only the values that are relevant to that type should be displayed in the Criteria Value.
The problem I am facing here is, the Criteria Value column is pointing to only one VO at design time. But wee need to change that VO dynamically without disturbing other rows depending on the Criteria Type value.
Is it possible to do so?
Note: User can add n number of conditions as he want.
Can anyone help how to acheive this.
