Sorting options for SLCM

In SLCM we use mixed case for names and addresses.  When we do a name search or a sort within a report...the sort takes into count upper/lower case characters.
Example...a sort on L* would show these students listed as...
LaRochelle, Michelle Marie
Laplaunt, Joseph Gregory
We would rather the sorting for search lists or when used for program output to use the American Standard of sorting which would not take count of the upper case characters.
The above example would then be listed as...
Laplaunt, Joseph Gregory
LaRochelle, Michelle Marie
I have searched the IMG and do not see a place to configure this.
Please advise.
Thank you.
Mike

Thanks PK...
I ended up filing a OSS note along with this.  They are going to check with their basis team for when this occurs in master data or student file doing a name search.  I will update when they get back to me.
In regards to sorting in reports, SAP suggested using the "AS TEXT" along with the SORT command.  We did try this, but it didn't do anything different on our system.  We saw in their documentation the same idea you suggested.  So we will probably use that option for reporting.
Thanks for your help!

  • Sorting options for movie collection on Apple TV (Gen 3)

    Hello,
I am wondering if there are any options for sorting my movie collection other than alphabetical? It would be really nice if I could sort by "Recently Added" so it would be easy to browse through my newest movies, but I'm not sure this is possible.
    Thanks

We don't have access to Sky news here but I believe that one has the ability to play the live feed.

  • How can i change sort options for a playlist in ios8? I would like to sort by album, or album artist like I can in iTunes for OSX.

So here's an example of why I would like to figure this out. I have a playlist on my iPhone that contains only new music. I would like to be able to sort this playlist by artist, so that when i click on the playlist, I can quickly find the album I have added to the playlist and play it. Currently, I can only see a long list of tracks. How do you sort playlists?
    Thanks!

I just found the solution to this myself.
In a very un-Apple way, this is an undocumented feature only accessible by right- (or control-) clicking.
    1. Change one track to your desired sort settings (for instance, set the Sort Artist to Yankovic, Weird Al.
    2. Right-click on that track. In the contextual menu that appears, there is a new submenu called "Apply Sort Field." If you choose "Same Artist," it will apply your new sorting information to all your other tracks by "Weird Al" Yankovic (or, if you are not a huge nerd, any other artist you substitute).

  • SORT option for Safari

Newbie on a Mac. If it is common knowledge that safari will not sort bookmarks as all other browsers can. Why has there not been an update to such a basic need? I have read several post from different sites providing multiple answers and yet the most productive one seems to be make this option (basic function) available to a community that has been loyal to a product (Mac) that many thought would never reach it's current global position.
Just a question from a new Mac user (2008) that had been a PC user since the early 90's.

This is a user-to-user forum; no one here can answer this question. It's really more of a rhetorical question (or complaint) anyway, isn't it?
The only people who could answer your question as to why this feature hasn't been added to Safari would be Safari's developers, and they had nondisclosure agreements that prevent them from discussing this kind of subject.
If what you really want to do is ask for this feature, your best bet is Apple's Mac OS X feedback form.

  • I would like to see a "user order" sort option for Smart Collections

I use LR to set up Collections to use for web output and typically use key wording to organize which photos will be included in any web gallery. Right now I have to make that into a regular collection so I can rearrange the collection to appear the way I want to present things. I would prefer to be able to utilize Smart Collections so any photos I want to add will be included automatically when I set up the proper keywords. New additions should be at the end of the current order and the user should be able to move that around in the presentation order as desired.

I absolutely agree. I used a similar function in Aperature all the time. It was the main reason I originally chose Aperature over LightRoom till Lightroom came out with the latest edition that included Smart Collections, and was I disappointed to find that it wasn't as powerful as Aperature's Smart Folders options.
Both programs have their strengths and their weaknesses... and this time around I think Lightroom has the advantage, but Aperature still wins on Smart Collections customization ability and power.

  • Sorting options for the "Following" section

I follow artists when I want to remember to check them out. It would be nice if the list was sorted by something. Ideally "date added".

Marked as new idea and edited the title slightly to make it easier to find via search. ;)
This is a re-post of this inactive idea.

  • Experience Manager: Changing the sort options of Price

    Hello,
I am stuck with sorting options for price.
In ResultList Cartridge template, there is an attribute set for Price which is product.price for sorting.
Now my index is not having this field but I have some different field. So I changed the template to put my field in.
I run set_template.bat. Logged out and logged in again. But when I go the application, and try to sort on results, it is still looking for product.price and the not new field that I have put in.

    It is fixed now.
I had missed out the spring context xml. The sort options are hard coded there.

  • How can I save my finder arrange/sort options once and for all?

I'm opening the Finder View Options panel and resetting the arrange and sort options several times a day and it's driving me nuts. The Finder ignores my desperate pleas to apply these options system-wide and seems to purposely forget the options I chose the day before.
I notice that the Icon view, List view, and even the Cover Flow view in the Finder get a "Use as Defaults" button in the View Options. Those of us in the Column View don't get that button, though. What have we done to deserve this?
I'd like the Finder to now and forevermore open every window with the following options:
    Column View
    Arrange By > Kind
    Sort By > Name
Can anyone help me make this happen? Thanks!

I've found setting the Arrange By to anything other then None gives different results then what I expected.
Select Column View from the Tool bar then open View Options and set Arrange By to None and Sort By to Name.
If you then see the names in reverse alphabetical order click on list in the tool bar then on the Name column header to put them right. in Alphabetical order, then switch back to column view on the Tool bar. you should be good to go from there
Whoever thought up Finders View logic should have their head checked.

That's where I would begin, too, with
    Repair Disk
Insert Installer disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key until grey Apple appears.
Go to Installer menu (Panther and earlier) or Utilities menu (Tiger) and launch Disk Utility.
Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
Select First Aid in the Main panel.
(Check S.M.A.R.TStatus of HDD at the bottom of right panel, and report if it saysanything but Verified)
Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
If DU reports errors it cannot repair you will need touse autility like TechTool Pro,Drive Geniusor DiskWarrior
First we need to determine if the issue you are experiencing with the computer is software or hardware based. Once we have gotten things sorted out there should be time enough to make you decision about keeping or returning it.

You can make a descending sorting for your key figure using the condition TopPercent (Top%) and take the value 100. To sort ascending, use the BottomPercent (Bottom%) condition on your key figure.
Then 100 % of the values of your key figure will be shown in a descending sorting by default in your query (without using a view).
I used the feature in the newest BEx Query Designer (7.x) and it works fine, I don't know if it's available in the older version (3.x).
    Please assign points.

  • Help on Oracle Report sort option!

    Hi,
My query in Q_1 of Oracle report is select &a_code ori_code ,&a_desc ori_description from &a ori_lup order by &b. When click on OK button it says
    ORA-00936: missing expression
    select ori_code,ori_description from ori_lup order by ==>
I am not able to resolve this problem.
What I am trying to do is I have some maintenance tables which have almost same columns like code, description. I want to define a single report and pass on parameters to this report, so that I can use same report for different tables. If I dont give order by clause it is working fine, but I should also provide sort option based on user selection of sort by code/description.
    Thanks for your help.

    Hi
If I correcly understand you need sorted query, if the parameter 'b' is given, and not sorted query otherwise.
This may be done, for exeample, by the following way.
    1. Delete the text 'order by' in your query as follows:
    select &a_code ori_code ,&a_desc ori_description from &a ori_lup &b
    2. Create 'AFTER PARAMETER FORM' trigger:
    function AfterPForm return boolean is
    begin
    IF LENGTH( LTRIM( RTRIM( :b ) ) ) > 0 THEN
    :b := 'ORDER BY ' | | :b;
    ELSE
    :b := '';
    END IF;
    return (TRUE);
    end;
I think it will help for you.

  • I need options for data replication within production db and dimensional db

    Hi,
I'm looking for options on how to solve this issue. We've 2 databases, one is our production, operative database, used by around 400 users at a time, and another one, which is our dimensional model of the same info, used to obtain reports. We also have a lot of ETL's (extract, transform and load) processes running every night to update the dim model.
Mi problem is that we have some online reports, and nowadays, we're getting data from the operational database, causing a performance issue in online operations. We want to migrate this reports to the dimensional model, and we're trying to find the best options for doing this.
Options that we're considering are ETL's process running continuously every XX minutes, materialized views, ETL's on demand, and others.
Our objective is to minimize performance issues on transactional database.
We're using Oracle 8i (yes, the oldie one) and Reporting Services as report engine (reports just run a pkg to get data).
    Any option is welcome.
    Thx in advance.
    Regards,
    Adrian.

The best option for you if the performance is the
most important is ORACLE STREAMS. Also is the most
complex but the final results are very goodsAgreed. As User12345 points out, though, that requires Oracle 9.2 or higher.
Another option is the materialized views with Fast
Refresh , that need the materialized view logs in
    the master site.
The first load is expensive but if you refresh each
15 minutes the cost is not high.I'd be careful about making that sort of statement. The overhead of both maintaining materialized view logs (which have to be written to synchronously with the OLTP transactions and which impose an overhead roughly equivalent to a trigger on the underlying table) and doing fast refreshes every 15 minutes can be extensive depending on the source system. One of the reasons that Streams came about was to limit this overhead.
For refresh i execute a cron shell that run the
DBMS_MVIEW.REFRESH package. my experience with group
refresh not was goodWhat was your negative experience with refresh groups? I've used them regularly without serious problems. Manual refreshes of individual materialized views against an OLTP system would scare the pants off me because you'd inevitably end up with transactionally inconsistent views of the data (i.e. child records would be present with no parent record, updates that affect multiple tables would be partially replicated until the next refresh, etc). Trying to move that sort of inconsistent data into a different data model, and trying to run reports off that data, would seem highly challenging at a minimum. Throwing everything into a single refresh group so that all the materialized views are transactionally consistent, or choosing a handful of refresh groups for those tables that are related to each other, seems like a far easier way to build a system.

  • Sort option in Repetitive Area on AR Invoice PLD is disabled / greyed out

    Hi Experts,
I have an issue whereby in my PLD the sort option under Print Layout Design Manager -> Repetitive Area -> Sort is greyed out / disabled in the AR Invoice PLD. Does anyone know why this might be? I've not seen this before and I can't find any notes relating to specifically to this issue in an AR Invoice PLD.
    2007A PL06 Hot Fix 01.
    Many thanks for any help,
    Caroline

    Hello Khushwant,
In SAP when your business Process is Sales Order --> Delivery --> AR Invoice
SAP would print the Batch Numbers along with the Delivery document.
But your Business Process is Sales Order --> AR Invoice
SAP would print the Batch Numbers along with the Invoice document.
Whichever document releaves inventory, SAP will Open the Batch selection screen when adding that document and the Batch Report will be printed on a seperate sheet along with that document.
The functionality change in SBO 2007, is that the Batch number print on the Delivery / Invoice document itself instead of on a seperate Page as in 2005.
Could you please explain your Business Process in relation to what I have mentioned earlier.
Printing the Batch Number as part of the Invoice document itself in SBO 2005 is going to be a tough task.
Let me know if where and how you want to print this information.
    Regards
    Suda
