Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Zs Platinum Pro sound distorti

Hi,First I have tried searching the forum but not found anything helpfull. My setup:?Soundblaster Audigy 2 Zs Platinum ProAsus K8V-VMCambridge megaworks 550 (or similiar name) speakers?anyway, i've just put the above motherboard in as my old one died. Both motherboards have had the same distortion problem. I used to be able to combat it by using the CD provided and put more sound through the back speakers as by default it seems to put everything through the front. This would lessen the distortion and make listening to things bare able but my onboard sound would still be better then my dedicated card. Has anyone found a proper fix for this as a lot of people seem to have trouble with this card?
I would like to add I had this problem from day !! and for a audio setup that cost me ?400 that shouldnt be happening!!! (a long time ago)

Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro Prob

Recently I've purchased the Creative Power Pack Pro 7., it included the <SPAN class=textbluebold>Creative GigaWorks 7. S750
<SPAN class=textbluebold>speakers, and <SPAN class=textbluebold>Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro soundcard. I've installed my Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro card and setup my Sound Blaster GigaWorks S750 speakers but so far after many attempts haven't gotten them to work. I've tried all updates off the Creative site and gone through the cards settings. For some reason in the speaker settings it only lists Headphones, 2., 4. and 5. speaker settings, leaving out 7.. I've checked all plugins and hookups, and am stuck for now. I have a brand new Sony Vaio computer, so i know that my computer is not the problem. I read through all the forms and I was only able to find one other question like mine, one person answered saying that the <SPAN class=textbluebold>Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro is not compatible with 7. speakers. I have no clue why Creative would sell the Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro and GigaWorks S750 7. speakers if they are not compatible with each other. Someone please help me. Thanks.

Microphone Issue - Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro Audio C

Hey there, sorry to post but I've got a little issue which I'm sure is me being stupid but its racking my head so here it comes. I have recently started using talk programs such as vent, skype blah blah to speak to people back home and since moving abroad I have found that now I need the mic to contact these people (which it used to fine before I arri'ved on foreign soil). On clicking on volume control and advance or properties I have nothing in recording for mic and this is where im lost. If I enable the mic on any of the programs people are hearing whatever happens to be coming out of the computer speaks such as games or a movie etc. i've just tried a full removal and reinstallation of the sound drivers for the model in my comp (Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro Audio Card).
All my mates are saying surely you cant lose mic from the volume control but yet its gone and I have no idea how to reactivate it. People seemt o think the card is buggered but it seems fine with everything else I fire out.
Any help on how stupid I'm being would be great.

Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro Mic/Codec problem

Okay, I'm running a ZS Plat Pro and I'm having some problems with my mic settings for some reason. Here's the deal:
My headphones are plugged into my external hub with the mic into the Line In slot. I have sound, theres power, that's all good. The problem lies with my microphone settings somewhere, I dunno where, with a possible codec problem I'm guessing. Here's why.
I can't get ANYTHINGto pick up in my mic. All the settings are correct in Control Panal and in my Creative Volume Control. Line In is selected for Recording, the volume is up, it's not muted, my headset is not muted, and the gain is turned on on my external hub, yet still nothing. Here is where hopefully someone can help. I can get it to work in Ventrilo when I go into setup. In setup to test with, I have to select a Codec from a list to use to test with. Meaning, there is NO current selected codec to test with. Once I select one, it works.
What I'm guessing is somehow, my computer doesn't have a current codec selected for my mic to work with. IE: MSN, Yahoo, Windows Sound Recorder, control panal/sound and audio/test hardware... they all come up detecting no sound at all, when in FACT, I know it works in Ventrilo when I select a codec.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled the card with up to date drivers. Can anyone help at all please? Thank you.

Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro, External hub is without power

This might be a tough one...
I'm hooking up my external hub for the first time since I've purchased the card (over .5 years ago). I've got the two huge cables (bound together) coming from my sound card to the external hub and, naturally, the black, green and orange cables coming from the sound card on into my S750 sub.
Am I missing some other cable that powers the external hub? Is it broken if I'm certain I have it connected properly, otherwise?
I'm pretty sure I've got the right sound card drivers (got them directly off the Creative website--lost my driver CD)... does this look right? (http://www.dieirl.com/temp/soundcard.jpg)

Have you looked from the User's Guide --> is power cable connected too (one free floppy disc power connector).

Headphone issues-Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro, DR release 1.84

I have some issues with my headphones. Before I can plug my headphones in and the speakers shut down and I hear the sounds through the headphones and now when I plug in the headset speakers still stay on and can hear the sounds on both the speakers and headset. Can anyone help with this issue? It would be greatly appreciated!

Capturing laserdisc AC3 signal with Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum

I'm considering converting my laserdisc collection over to DVD.
As far as PC hadware is concerned, I have the ATI All-In-Wonder 9800 Pro and the Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro.
My system in a 3.2G P4 on a Intel D875PBZ board w/ 2Gig of memory. Connected are 3 dri'ves, (2) 250G SATA dri'ves and () old 250G IDE dri've that I keep archi'ves on.
The laserdisc player has the following:
AC-3 Bit Stream / PCM Optical Output AC-3 Bit Stream / PCM Coaxial Output PCM Coaxial Output
I was planning to use the optical input of the soundcard but was unsure what to use to capture the digital stream to capture the entire surround channel info. Normally audio is captured as an uncompressed WAV and then converted to AC3 which to me is a wasted step since it's only going to wind up as AC3 again
I've used Virtual dub in the past to capture TV broadcasts, but I seem to be at a loss on this current venture. Any assistance will be great

Alright, let me just double check...
As long as the output from my laserdisc is 48K then things should work fine and I should receive the entire unadulterated stream, no data padding or modification. If it's not 48k then it won't. This is as long as I save it as 2. PCM audio stream
The audiobitrate for AC3 should be at 384k, and this will be preserved using the above method?
From what I'm reading, this unprocessed stream should sound like white noise. Once processed by cooledit , Soundforge or besweet I should have the DD 5. soundtrack intact and not a 2 channel AC stream?
Sorry if I am rephrasing things but I just want to be absolutly certain when I start this project .

Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro to front case ja

Hello everybody!
Joined the forum to see if I could get this here question figured out. I've done a whole bunch of searching for the issue, stared at my card and manuals for... a long time... and cannot seem to come up with a solution.
I love Creative Labs, have just ordered an X-Fi Elite Pro and Gigaworks S750 to use on my new PC... and am turning my old PC into a lanparty machine of sorts, so I'd like to be able to use the front headphone/mic jacks without logging around the external I/O device.
I wish to simply connect my Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro to the stereo headphone and mic jacks built into my case. The pins from the case are arranged in AC'97 form (a rectangle,) but are also split away from eachother, for use in whichever arrangement I need (this is what I assume I'll need to use.)
I have seen on many forums a white "J" port which can be customized and connected to... however, my Aud2 ZS PlatPro does not have this magical white connector. In fact, I see no connectors that would even appear to be helpful. All I have is a 5pin "Joystick" header, 4pin power connector, 4pin "AUX_IN", and 2pin "CD_SPDIF"
...Another option I thought might work for me would be to somehow connect the case pins into the 3.5 stereo jacks on the back of the soundcard... where the speakers would normally go! But how would I go about connecting those dangly female pins to the stereo jack? Simple wire soldering? Would I need fancier electronics?
Worst case scenario, I'd either have to A) use my mobo's onboard audio... B) get unlazy and reach around my case to plug in.

Well - apparantly, nobody know how to fix this...
Well, I did find a solution... custom made a cable that went from the rear 3.5mm stereo jack into the pin block from the side of the case. Works like a charm, both headphones and mic!

Speakers - Creative Inspire T7700 7.
OS: Windows XP/Vista with Latest Creative drivers.
Concern:
1 - Whenever Xbox starts up - i have to remove the cable and replug it in for the sound to start coming.
2 - If i play any video or movie - there is no audio heard and after the movie ends - i have to reconnect the audio cable for the system sounds to return. (this does not apply to in-game FMV)
3 - Sound breaks and cracks in some games during multiple loud audio scenes. Such as in Forza3 - a car crash would cause cracking/breaking sound.
Overall most games run fine - I just dont know why no audio is heard when a movie is played! I've tried all different audio setups on the 360 but nothing works (WMA makes cracking worse)
Whats the cause and cure?

They suggest editing /etc/modules.conf but in kernel 2.6.x /etc/modules.conf doesn't exist anymore and simply
that option doesn't work in /etc/modprobe.conf

Ok So let me give you the specs on my computer first,?Windows xp home editionAbit IN9 32 MAX Mobo2 Gigs corsair xms ram2 8800ultra sli gpusLogitech?z-5300 SpeakersSound blaster audigy 2 zs platinum sound card2 Samsung 500 gig HD?I dont believe that my problem is the same as is in the crackling sound thread. So here is my dilema. Up untill about 4 days ago everything was working fine with my sound system. I have the Logitech speakershooked up to my audigy 2 zs along with my xbox 360 in the optical in on the front plate. So like i said about 4 days ago i started playing a movie on my computer and i have the ac3 codec installed on my computer with comunity codec pack and i know that you could say that those 2 things could be my problem i know enough to know that that probably isnt. So when i played the movie and when to the ac3 codec and turned on dolby decoding so that i would decode it to all my speakers everything worked fine. Then when i turned on spdif decoding my center speaker?started to crackle so i figured it was just becuase i was useing spdif and dolby decoding at the same time. so i turned that off and then went to go play my xbox 360 in which i have pluged into the optical in part on the front plate. Everything had always worked fine for that i have dolby digital decodeing on for the audigy. So i started to play a game i realized that i center speaker was crackling on there too. So i started to realize that no matter what i did the center speaker was crackling. I even changed out the center and sub stereo jack on the card for the front left and right and then they started to crackle in that spot. So i dont know what the hell is going on. Any help would be greatly appreciated i was thinking of restoring my computer but i dont know whether that is necessary. I am brand new to this message system but I am so desperate for help I thought I would try it. After reading lots of comments I find that my problem may be more the rule than the exception. I have an Audigy @ Platinum card and all I ever get from it is crackling and popping. I have been around and around with Creative support but nothing they tell me results in a fix. I am so disgusted at this point that I am ready to just trash the whole thing. I have gone through the BIOS and checked so many settings its a shame. Still crackling and popping. I NEED SPECIFIC ANSWERS FROM SOMEBODY...not just the generic flip the wingle wangle to port xyz and move this to that. here has got to be an answer to this maddening problem. The other thing is that now I can't get my MIDI keyboard to play back. I must have turned something off in the set up process but now I have no idea what to do.

Recently purchased an Audigy 2 ZS?Platinum?Pro sound card. I need help figuring out how to get sound when I us the tv tuner for my?All-In-Wonder?9600XT video card. The audio output on the video card needs an audio input to connect on the sound card, but this sound card?does not appear have one.
Does anyone know how I can connect the video card to sound card so I get sound when using tv tuner? Where is the micro In line?I have it on the front panel on the external unit!!? But I would don't use this In line for this application!On my old sound card SB Li've! Platinum, I had a line at the rear PCI card (Line In & Micro Line In) and I had two others Line In on the Front Panel, It's the best, but this old card work only with Win 98 or Win 2000.... ? I'm considering buying a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum (with front panel) off ebay, but first I'd like to know if certain features will be compatible with my system. I'm running Vista Home Basic 64bit (hardware is an Asus P5Q-E, Q6600, 2GB of RAM, ATI Radeon HD4850, etc). I'll be using this card for my PC's 5. surround sound system (using the stereo outputs), and more importantly, recording some music. I want to achieve this by using the optical S/PDIF port, as my bass guitar effects board has an S/PDIF output and I've got an S/PDIF cable. I'd also like to use the Line In and Mic inputs. The driver before the latest one for this card said that there was no S/PDIF passthrough for Vista. Has the latest driver got everything I need fixed, so I can just plug it in, install the drivers and then be happily recording through these three inputs?
