Sound completely gone..
Okay, this has been a huge problem for me the entire time i have had my Macbook pro. i have had it for a year, ergo a 2011 model MBP. The problem is that when the jack to my headphones are not completely unplugged, but removed with a couple of mm without me noticing. The sound disappears completely. Actually this also happens if i close the lid with my headphones still plugged in. I've checked the preferences > sound > output. And it says that the internal speakers are chosen. The sound icon pops up when i change the volume, but there is no sound what so ever. Every other time this problem has occured I have restarted my mac. and voila! the sound is back! Now, however i'm tired of this bug and is looking for a solution
If anyone could help me I sure as **** would appreciate it!

My iPod classic lost sound. Any idea what happened?
It's not brand new, but it's definately not banged up. I bought it from a friend and besides the occasional drop on the floor (nothing super hardcore) it's never been mishandeled. Today when I was listening to it on the bus, the sound started crackling, then completely cut out. When I plugged it into my Bose sound system, it would play for about 2- 3 minutes, then do the same thing. It wouldn't have sound again unless I let it sit for about 5 minutes, then the same thing happened again. I tried scanning it on my computer, and it said that it fixed all problems. Has anyone experienced this before, and either way, do you think that it could be fixed ?I'm having the same problem with my IPod 30G. 1st the sound started to crackle then went completely silent. I have tried two different sets of working earphones with no luck. I have also tried IPod in a docking station and still have no sound. I have also reset the settings on the IPod to original and still no luck. Any solutions?

Since the newest hp update, my sound has gone completely silent. any ideas?
I have an HP Pavilion g6 and I just updated with an unknown update (it doesn't show in my "View History") so I'm not entirely sure which one it was, but since then I've lost my sound completely. I'm about to update my sound driver, but in the mean time, does anyone have any ideas?

Should partitioning the hard drive not work is it undoable?
Will this have any impact on doing a complete erase and reinstall and will that restore it back from the process?
Is there a limited amount of space that makes this process ineffective?
I have never had to do this sort of thing so I just want to be sure I don;t wind up in the dog house *)

I accidentally synced my mum's brand new iPad to my mac book air. A few days later I realised that my iTune library on my mac is completely gone. So is my iPhone 4s after I synced it with my mac. How do I get my old iTunes library back? I tried using icloud on my iphone but it stated that I have never back up my phone before. So I guess my iCloud data is gone too? But I have back up my mac in my harddrive using time machine. So how do I get my old itune library back? Please help! Thanks!
1) ensure iTunes is authorized for your iTunes store account(s)
2) connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
3) sync the device
iTunes will wipe the iPhone but, since you transferred your purchases in the previous step, your content will be in your library and you can re-populate the iPhone with it.

What IOS and OS are you using Elissa. I think from your post it used to work but has dropped off, is that correct or has it never worked? If it did wotk has anything changed? Check your wifi use with sopmething like istumbler to see if it is being used by neighbours etc?

The ringtones are working but all other sounds are not working please helpI had this problem on my iPod Touch 4g. Just press the home and sleep button. Wait and it will give an iTunes and cable logo. Now you can put in DFU mode (Hold Sleep and Home button 10 seconds and then release the power button kand keep pressing on the home button.) Now you will be able to restore it in iTunes.

Your work will still be there, you just have to go through Updating your older pre 10.1. stuff to the new Library model way of doing things.
Follow Tom's suggestions to the letter and things should go smoothly.

Until you have tried Maps, Music, etc. first hand, I wouldn't formulate negative opinions about them. And updates, if performed correctly, do not erase data.
I presume that last time you updated through iTunes. This time, update over Wi-Fi by going to Settings > General > Software Update. -
Did something adjust overnight with ICLOUD? I got up this morning and found a few calendars completely erased - all my birthdays and a few other categories were completely gone!! Any ideas??

My iphone 4s after last update 7.0.3 sound only works for calls, all other phone sounds are gone, I can only listen with headphones or connected to a speaker, do not know what else to do.
I'm with Vodafone Germany too. But as the problem occurs with WiFi too it can't be carrier issue I guess.

Accidently drove over Iphone 5. Screen is completely gone but phone works to call out via SIRI. Of course I cannot download to itunes as I have a passcode lock. Would like to save my information, contacts and photos. Any help or ideas would help!!!
