Sound rule doesn't execute properly

I have a rule that announces the arrival of a particular sender's message with three steps: move the message to a folder, play a sound, bounce the Mail icon. In recent weeks, the message arrives, gets moved, and the icon bounces. Sometime later, when I'm doing something with another message (e.g, replying or sending a new one), the sound kicks in. I've tried reordering the rule steps and had added and removed the "Stop evaluating rules" step, but it doesn't make a difference. Another poster thought it might be related to the fact that I'm using custom sounds vs. system sounds (which do execute immediately).
Any thoughts?

"volume: can't open /dev/mixer " is for the users who use OSS so there; you should find out what uses OSS and change it if it is possible and not solely on oss.
and the error I am having is because I defined the specific software to hwd:0,0. so what i should do is to check my softwares and set the audio output to "default"
So in another word use you sound card and in output option of your sound card choose "default over hwd:0,0"

  • [SOLVED]udev doesn't execute my custom rule

    Here is my device info:
    XSign rules.d # udevadm info -a -n /dev/sdb1
Udevadm info starts with the device specified by the devpath and then

found, all possible attributes in the udev rules key format.
A rule to match, can be composed by the attributes of the device

  • Satellite P500-127: microphone or sound doesn't work properly using skype

    Hi Toshiba team,
    Recently bought a new notebook.
However the microphone or sound driver (connexant pebble high definition ) doesn't work properly when using skype. Also read about this matter in various forums such as the skype forum.
People encountered similar problems such as:
We can usually talk for a bit longer than 20 seconds, however the call will drop at a random time between 1 and 15 minutes. The strange part is that sometimes the quality of the call is good, but more than often my friend can only hear *half of what I am saying* while I usually do not have a problem hearing what has been said. The video will work so my friend can see me talking but can simply not really hear what I am saying.
Before the drop the call will usually freeze for a couple of seconds and then skype sometimes crashes. We have tried talking together without the video, however the problem remains.
I also found a suggestion by the toshiba service, just to simply increase the volume under control panel etc, but it doesn't work either..
Can you please help me on this one?
Cannot use skype at all as it just to annoying for everyone I talk to.. Quality is just to poor!!
    Many many thanks

    Hi
Every day I use Skype with the internal webcam, microphone and speakers but I didnt have any problems as yet.
In your case I would try updating the drivers. Therefore download the latest sound and webcam driver (microphone is a part of webcam). Both you can get here:
    http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > Support & Downloads > Download Drivers
If your friend cant hear you, check also the settings for internal microphone. I have activated microphone boost in Windows sound settings so I could improve the microphone quality.
By the way: Do you use the latest version of Skype? With older Skype version I had also some problems on Windows 7. As far as I know only newest version is fully Windows 7 compatible.

  • Satellite Pro L20 doesn't work properly with USB Fast Track audio i.f.

    Hello!
I have used my Fast Track USB on new Toshiba Satellite L40 and I never had problems with it. I could set low latency and I did few songs with it.
Yesterday I bought another notebook, thinking of home recording studio. It's used Toshiba Satellite Pro L20. It doesn't work properly with my interface. When I listen music on Winamp or do anything on Fruity Loops I hear loud clicks, pops, noises. They introduce samples, or they appear during playback or after a sample is stopped.
I noticed, drivers for Satellite Pro L20 are a problem. Its not supported by Toshiba anymore?! The only drivers for chipset are very old and you can download em only from Toshiba website. The chipset is ATI Xpress 200M. Its drivers are with graphic card. Recently I noticed you can download "ATI Catalyst Legacy Display Driver for Windows XP - Motherboard/IGP Drivers 9.11" and CRACK IT to make it possible to install on mobile unit such as L20. Yep its funny but its impossible to do otherwise!
things I have tried and they still not help:
    # drivers replacement, original were released in 2004. I installed recent version.
    # driver settings, low latency, high latency
    # asio and different settings
    # pluging the interface to another usb socket.
    # trying what happens when I use battery and when I use adapter
    # updated bios
    # turned off onboard units such as wifi card, sound card
    # checked IRQ list
    pops still appear.
    my config:
    Toshiba Satellite Pro L20
    Win XP Home SP3
    Celeron M 1,5GHz
    896Mb ram
M-Audio Fast Track USB, drivers: 6.0.2
    Kind regards

Thanks for answer. I still have L40 but I try to run my homerecording on L20. The L40 is now used by whole my family. It's possible to swap them but there's a problem - L20 has Norway keyboard and I'm the only person at home who doesn't often look down while typing. In Poland, we use standard ms keyboard. I'd buy special stickers, it's about only to make special chars get back to their places.
I installed Windows on this computer end set it to best performance possible.
Since I created this thread, guys from M-Audio support tried to solve my problem - nothing helped. I think potential solutions are exhausted.

  • Deployment Rule Sets do not properly launch the latest available version from the JRE6 family when the jpi-version is specified by the RIA

    Issue Summary
In Java 1.7 Update 71, Java 1.7 Update 72 and Java 1.8 Update 25 Deployment Rule Sets do not properly launch the latest available version from the JRE6 family when the jpi-version is specified by the RIA.  We've noticed this with Oracle Forms and Reports 11g where we have forms that specify Java 1.6 Update 20.  We used to be able to specify Java 1.6 Update 26 in our Ruleset, but now the only version a that works in our ruleset is Java 1.6 Update 20 which is the same version requested by the JPI-Version attribute of the jar.  The long term solution would be to upgrade Oracle Forms and Reports, however this isn't currently in the cards.

    Test 1 (Control)
    Installed Java Versions:
    – 1.7 Update 51 b13 (both x86 and x64 however x86 is invoked)
    – 1.6 Update 26 b03 (both x86 and x64 however x86 is invoked)
Deployment Ruleset works as expected for both URLs
    Test 2
    Installed Java Versions:
    – 1.7 Update 72 (both x86 and x64 however x86 is invoked)
    – 1.6 Update 26 b03 (both x86 and x64 however x86 is invoked)
The RuleSet works for JavaTester.org however on internaldomain.name we get the following error:
With the trace logging turned on, I suspected the version attribute supplied by the RIA. I was able to trick Java by adding the following to my system deployment.properties file:
    deployment.javaws.jre.0.product=1.6.0_20
    deployment.javaws.jre.0.path=C\:\\Program Files (x86)\\Java\\jre6\\bin\\javaw.exe
    deployment.javaws.jre.0.enabled=true
Because the RIA requests 1.6.0_20 it matches 1.6* from the deployment ruleset sooner than 1.6.0_26. However, if 1.6.0_20 is not available 1.6.0_26 should match according to the Deployment Rule Set documentation:
    http://docs.oracle.com/javase/7/docs/technotes/guides/jweb/security/deployment_rules.html
The version of the JRE that is used is determined by the following order of precedence:
    1. The current version of the JRE is used if it is available and matches both the version attribute and the version requested by the RIA.
    2. The latest available version of the JRE is used if it matches both the version attribute and the version requested by the RIA.
    3. The current version of the JRE is used if it is available and matches the version attribute.
    4. The latest available version of the JRE is used if it matches the version attribute.
If no version is available that meets the criteria, then the RIA is blocked, and a message is shown to the user. To provide a custom message, include the message element.
    As a result:
If Java 1.6.0_20 is listed in the version requested by the RIA and 1.6.0_20 is listed in the deployment.properties file, #1 matches.
If Java 1.6.0_20 is listed in the version requested by the RIA, but 1.6.0_20 is NOT listed in the deployment.properties file the #1 SHOULD match, but doesn’t. It used to match up-to and including JRE 1.7 Update 51 however the ruleset appears to no longer match in subsequent versions.
#2 should never match with our current Deployment Ruleset. It would match if we specified 1.7* as a version in the Ruleset.xml.
#3 used to be broken as well after JRE 1.7 Update 51 however this bug has been marked as fixed. See: http://bugs.java.com/view_bug.do?bug_id=8032781
I have reproduced this issue with Java 1.7 Update 71, Java 1.7 Update 72, and Java 1.8 Update 25 when one of these versions are installed with Java 1.6 Update 26.

I can't seem to edit this post anymore, for some odd reason.

    The interesting parts in this post are as follows;
When an after-market graphics card is installed into a motherboard with UEFI enabled in the system BIOS, or if the system is a certified Windows 8 PC with Secure Boot enabled, the system may not boot.
UEFI is a new system BIOS feature that is provided on most new motherboards. A UEFI system BIOS is required in order for the Windows 8 Secure Boot feature to work. Secure boot is enabled by default on certified Windows 8 PCs.
In order to get the PC to boot with a graphics card that does not contain UEFI firmware, the end-user must first disable the secure boot feature in the system's SBIOS before installing the graphics card.
Note: Some system SBIOS's incorporate a feature called compatibility boot. These systems will detect a non-UEFI-enabled firmware VBIOS and allow the user to disable secure boot and then proceed with a compatibility boot. If the system contains a system SBIOS the supports compatibility boot, the user will need to disable secure boot when asked during boot process
    This leads me to believe that the BIOS update that wrecked my setup was 9SKT58A/9SJT58A, which only contains one change;
"Adds support for updating BIOS from a WIN7 BIOS to a WIN8 BIOS".
I've just ordered a cheap UEFI-compatible GT640 from Gainward, so I hope I'll be able to try that out this weekend.

  • In Home Agent doesn't load properly

I have two nearly identical desktops and a laptop.  The IHA doesn't load properly on one of the desktops.  All have Win XP SP3 with all the security updates.  All use Firefox as the default browser, but do have IE8 installed and working.
On the one that IHA doesn't load properly, when attempting to load, I wind up with two icons in the system tray.  One is labeled MSI1F.tmp; the second, MSI18.tmp.  Both tool tips show "Script paused" checked.  If I restart the computer, the icons disappear.
If I attempt to execute the IHA, it starts up, and looks like it wants to work, but when I get to the page with the toolbar at the top and I click on "Internet," the body of the page goes blank and does not display anything.
Going to the feedback portion on the laptop (so I can be next to the desktop), I contacted support, and they were able to use remote control of my computer, but couldn't do any good and gave up.
Everything else seems to work.  I can connect to the internet, but downloading a large file, such as Flash Player, is excruciatingly slow (that's what started all of this); the working units just fly.  Using the laptop, I have been able to isolate the problem down to something inside the desktop, eliminating connection, router, and wiring issues.  I have also tried using a wired and a wireless connection with the same basic results, making me think that it is just not one of the hardware interfaces (The wired connection is 1.0 Gbps and the wireless is "n.")
Any ideas short of just reloading XP and all of the other software?
    Thanks.

Not sure if reloading will help In-Home Agent start working. I'm not sure what the fix would be for this but the software is known to be a bit glitchy. A lot of us just prefer removing it from the machine if all works well, unless you need a specific feature/repair option within the software.

  • Frontpanel of X-Fi Fatal1ty doesn't work properly

    Hi!
My frontpanel doesn't work as it should. It doesn't has any functionality on one of the three buttons. And volumecontrol also does not work there. Neither with original drivers from creative nor with Daniel K.
Do you have any suggestions? I am running Vista 64 SP2.

Re: Frontpanel of X-Fi Fatalty doesn't work properly Yes this is what happens with those Front panels/ i-o bays. Sometimes when installing them, people turn the IDE cable that connects the card to the bay the opposite way that it should be. PIN on the bay should go to pin on the sound card, but people reverse that and sometimes the bay partially works. Other times, people do not plug a floppy power connector into their machine, and again, part of the bay works, and part of it doesnt. Please check these connections on both the "IDE style of cable" and your power connector doing to your I/O baby.

  • Doesn't execute my user exit codes.

    Hello Experts,
I have created user exit ZXF05U01 to validate Tax Number1 field and activated. (txn fk02)
    Then Execute the transaction CMOD.
    Created a project ZFIAPVEN
In "Enhancement assignments" added SAPMF02K as enhancement.
    Saved it.
Then in the initial screen of cmod I've activated the project.
Doesn't execute 'MODULE EXIT_KREDITOR AT EXIT-COMMAND.' When I ran the txn fx02 in debug mode it.
    Regards
    Naz

I think I took the wrong path to validate the New Zealand specific tax number. Is it possible to set some rules in PRST1_005 in table T005.
If this is possible then please pass me the steps description.
    Thanks.

Facebook app on iPad doesn't open properly, it opens , then doesn't go to the loggin page, it just closes again without displaying anything, how do I fix this ?

This worked for me... A little time consuming but once you get rolling it goes GREAT... Thanks....
I got my artwork and saved it to my Desktop
Opened up Microsoft Paint and clicked on "File" and "Open" and found it to get it on the screen to resize it
Clicked "resize" and a box for changing it opened up
Checked the box "Pixels" and "Unchecked maintain aspect ratio"
Set Horizontal for 640 and Vertical for 480
Clicked on "OK" and went back to "File" and did a "Save As" and chose JPEG Picture
It came up "File Already Existed" and clicked "OK" (really did not care about the original artwork I found because wrong size)
Went to iTunes and on the movie right clicked on "Get Info", clicked on "Details", then "Artwork"
Go to the little box on the top left that shows your old artwork and click on it to get the little blue border to appear around it and hit "Delete" to make it gone
Click on "Add Artwork" and find it where you put the one from above on your Desktop and hit "Open" and OK and your new artwork is now there and all good.
Sounds like a lot of steps to follow but after around 5 or so you will fly through it. This worked perfect on my iPhone 6 Plus and I have artwork on my Home Videos now.

  • My palm m105's touch screen doesn't work properly after a sync.

I dug out my old m105, put new batteries in and start it. On first launch it auto runs the alignment tool, and after touching all the points it goes to the main screen and works fine. No problem till here.
Now, I plug it into my old computer which still has the palm software with my apps, and I run the sync operation (from the palm device sync manager, cause I lost my cradle and I'm connected via the serial cable), and it syncs fine BUT, here comes the problem, when it finishes the sync (successfully) the touch screen is all misaligned. I can't go back to the home screen or do anything useful.
