Space problems in 9i Application Server.
i am facing a problem with my 9i Application Server which i working on the platform UNIX on our HP machine. The space in the folder in which the Application is hosted gets 100% very often & then as suggested by Oracle, i copy the following log files to a different location & truncate the base log files:-
a) application.log in $ORACLE_HOME/j2ee/OC4J_BI_Forms/application-deployments/forms90app/OC4J_BI_Forms_default_island_1
b) error_log in $ORACLE_HOME/Apache/Apache/logs
c) server.log in $ORACLE_HOME/j2ee/OC4J_BI_Forms/log/OC4J_BI_Forms_default_island_1
d) access_log in $ORACLE_HOME/Apache/Apache/logs
There are lot of other log files also, i guess. So, i want to know the other log files with their path so the same operation of copying & truncating can be done with them.
I hope, my question is clear. Please help in solving the doubt.

To your problem: did you make sure the master password you set during installation is less than 9 charachters as discussed in the Installation Troubleshooting?

Problem in oracle application server 10g

i have problem with application server 10g
my situation :
oracle database 10g release 2
oracle application server 10g ( forms,reports)
and i installed the database and application server on the same computer , and with windows xp service pack 2 os
my problem is when i start the computer that connected to a network some services of application server not working , note that no problems with the database
and i installed node 32 antivirus
can any one help me plz ?Wich processes don't start? do you have this services in Automatic?
Can you try to pass the to manual, and start the procs suing opmnctl command and check the logs of it?

JMS problem with Sun Application Server 8.2

I set a connection factory called "QueueConnectionFactory" in the Sun Application Server Admin Consol.
After this I test this code:

So I tested this code under Netbeans5 and I don't where to find jar file contains the class: com.sun.messaging.jms.ra.ResourceAdapter
Other time I tryied to lookup this URL: "java:comp/env/jms/QueueConnectionFactory"
The result was: javax.naming.NameNotFoundException
I know it is a small code example but if I'm not able to solve this problem I can't go on with JMS.
I would be glad by any help.

[XI 3.1] Deployment problems to Oracle Application Server

I'm new on BO products, and i have problems with installation on Oracle Application Server 10.1.3
BuildVersion=12.1.0.882.BOE_Mira_RTM
I have success installed OAS 10.1.3 (with patch 10.1.3.3.0), and when i'm installing BO following documentation, after installation no any BO applications in OAS found. This is first.
Then i attempt install BO applications (CmcApp, AdminTools, etc...) manualy... I have success installation of CmcApp, but when try it to run, i get error ([logon_error_attach|http://www.sendspace.com/file/u8gyoj]), page with logo BO, but logon form (logon.faces) could't be found... i think *.faces on OAS does not work/support, it must be something like *.jsp, *.jspx, but not *.faces, or i must configure OAS in special way.
Any suggestions?

JNDI problem with Sun Application Server
I am trying to call a extremely simple EJB from a remote computer. But everytime I run the client I get a Class castException. I have used Weblogic and Jboss in the past and I never had any problem with JNDI. I included all the files except for the descriptor. Please help, this is driving me nut.

Can't print under Tomcat but no problem under sun application server 8!
Hi,
I am rather puzzle by the fact that a programme written by me using all the print api and printable implementation when being called by the JSF page is capable of being successfullly print out when being deployed under sun application server 8 but got hang or met with no response when the same war file generated by the JSC 2 is being deployed onto Tomcat 5.17 .
Was it due to some missing jar file or api , I really have no idea at all

I got rather stupid question to ask regarding the font size.
if I got a font size of 10, I know it is only refering to the height in pixel , my problem start when I need to know , how many characters can I print across in a A4 size paper. The pixel point is 1/72 of an inch, it is vertical .
Is there any formula that I can use to determine how many characters per inch that particular font is supposed to print?
Suggestion that I received is to use trial and error method.

We installed some Windows Server Updates about 3 months ago (at the time, over 70 Windows updates were installed) but, this problem hasn't shown up until 2 or 3 weeks ago. I think a .Net Service Pack might have been part of the updates at that time. When we did the updates, Windows was shutdown and updates installed per the preferred option of Windows. But now when rebooting since that time, the server continually reccomends the install updates and shutdown option. Do we need to rollback the server to date prior those updates if possible? Any Thoughts... -
Compilation problem in Oracle Application Server (9.0.x)
Hi All,
I have a JSP Page, with more than 200 controls, arranged in a tabs. When I try to run this file under Tomcat or JBoss, it runs fine. But when I run it in Oracle 9iAS (9.0.x), it fails to run. The difference is in the way the servlet is generated from the JSP file. In case of Tomcat and JBoss, the generated java file contains multiple methods for each component, so it runs fine. But in case of Oracle Application Server, the generated file has only one method jspService, which contains all the code. Because of this, the JVM throws an error saying "code too large public void jspService(HttpServletRequest request... ".
Can anyone help me on this issue? Do you know of any configuration setting for the compiler?

Can you try to pass the to manual, and start the procs suing opmnctl command and check the logs of it?

venkatTo connect to the App Server control, you need to login with the id ias_admin. The password is whatever you specified during the installation process. The port number to use would have been displayed at the end of the installation process.

Problem in Disabling Application Server Control Console on APPHOST2-4
I am doing the ESB setup in a highly available environment
According to the deploymet guide i have to disable the Application server control on the secondary server.
For this it is given to change the default-web-site.xml file for the application server.
Can someone tell me the location of this file?

It's in the following directory: [oracle home]/j2ee/[oc4j container for which the control must be diasbled]/config/default-web-site.xml
You can change the load-on-startup attribute of the ascontrol application in it, e.g.
<web-app application="ascontrol" name="ascontrol" load-on-startup="false" root="/em" />

You need to verify if the location where you are trying to save the file is in the same server of SAP. In case that the location is in other server you need to map that directy into the same server of SAP.
You need to point always to a location in the same server of SAP, in order that the open dataset could work.
