Speaker recommendations wanted for editing in Premiere Pro CC

For several years I have been using a pair of M-Audio near field speakers that were recommended to me for video editing.  Apparently, these speakers are widely used. However, I find their sound to be incredibly flat and midrange, with few highs or lows.  Lately, I have been getting some unpleasant surprises when listening to my mixes on other speakers or devices; I often hear undesired high and low frequency sounds that I never heard in my studio. This happens even when listening on such lowly gear as iPhone ear buds!  The other day I was listening to a mix with a pair of Apple buds and heard distant voices in a rural ambience clip that I never heard on the M-Audio speakers.
Can anyone recommend a better pair of speakers?

Thanks Richarad ..It has solved the problem but still crashes some times .As the programme has the break (bumper)after every five minutes ,i hope it will not compress bumper time too after export.

The biggest problem with the Asus in question is that it will be really hard to upgrade it and I still did not find a model with SSD.
    I found a comparision review here:  http://www.notebookcheck.net/Review-Asus-N550JV-CN201H-Notebook.98311. 0.html
The Asus scores better in the cinebench sector (slightly with OpenGL and much with CPU)  and the Lenovo is better in the Pcmark7 and the 3dmark11. What are these tests? and which one is more important when it comes to video editing?
Thank you again for your time and efferts
P.S. I am studying the article about Hard disks, it is really interesting!!! thanks
Correct it is a 17-inch, and of course it weighs and costs slightly more than a 15.6-inch
It is a very simple task to upgrade the unit to an dual SSD system, and memory upgrade is very easy.  You undo one screw on the bottom and (below) this is what you see.  Two disk drive carriers with my SSD's installed and two 8 GB SODIMM add on RAM modules
Those benchmarks have very little to do with editing with Premiere, there is only one real comperhensive Premiere benchmark it is our PPBM.

  • I can edit on Premiere Pro 6 files, but after a dozen keystrokes, the space bar and cursor keys stop working while the save function works

I can edit on Premiere Pro 6 files, but after a dozen keystrokes, the space bar and cursor keys stop working while the save function, render workspace function, export file are still operational. How can I fix it so I may complete my assignment?
Besides DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Creative Suite 6 is the only software on the machine. I am using Windows 7 Professional 64-bit Operating System on AMD FX 6100 six-Core Processor at 3.31gHz and 32 GB RAM memory. There are two SLI-bridged GTX680 NVidia cards.
The software was very stable for the last six months, working with 720P proxy files from 2.5K masters (Blackmagic Design Camera). I am working on a feature-length project that exceeds 1000 edits. I have broken the file into 2 one hour segments.
I have deactivated the software before reinstalling the entire OS from scratch. PP6 was very stable for 48 hours. Then the freezing space bar returns. After a dozen strokes into the project, same problem.  I have made cache files store next to originals, I have deleted preview files if they were corrupted and causing instability. Am I missing something?
I have Microsoft Security Essentials for virus protection. I double checked the memory for damage/defect. Nothing says that the motherboard or other components are damaged.
I am in film competition overseas and need to have deliverables in less than a month's time.  I lost the last two weeks troubleshooting and this crisis came at an inopportune moment of the project.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Still getting software freezes but found a way to mitigate for the mean time.
Upon launching Adobe Premiere Pro, hit CTRL-ALT-DEL to launch TaskManager as well.
You will want to highlight Adobe QT32 Server.exe
Right click and select "End Process Tree"
You will get considerable stability in the program, long enough to get timing of cuts done. Be sure to save often.
If the program freezes, do not hit Save. You definitely want to avoid saving the corruption into your TimeLine
CTRL-ALT-DEL to relaunch the TaskManager and highlight Adobe Premiere Pro.exe
    Right-click to "End Process"
No need to reboot the whole system; just launch Premiere Pro again and continue with the session. Note that your work reverted to Last Save.
Hope this helps until the bug is fixed.

  • Converting H.264 for Editing in Premiere Elements 9

    Hi!
What is the best way to convert my MOV H.264 files off my Canon T2i for editing in premiere. I've heard several people say that H.264 is NOT an editing codec, and it seems to be true. I am editing a shoot with the files directly off the camera and IT IS SLOW!  When you go to export in Premiere it says that AVI files are what you should use for editing in Premiere, but my problem is that I don't know which is the best codec and quality to use. I want Full HD but I'm not sure how to transcode without losing quality. Any suggestions? Please help! Thanks.

Unfortunately, video from the Rebel series isn't supported natively in Premiere Elements 9. (Though it's worth a try. Have you tried one of the DSLR presets that matches your video's resolution?)
The BEST solution is to convert the video to a 1440x1080 MPEG/M2T using Quicktime Pro ($29 from Apple). 1440x1080, as you probably know, is the anamorphic version of 1920x1080, so it is the same resolution.
A 1440x1080 MPEG/M2T video should work perfectly with Premiere Elements' HDV project preset.
Remember: The test to see if you're using the ideal preset is that, when you add the video to your timeline, it will appear without a red line above it.
If you are seeing no red lines above your video but your video editing is still slow, it is most likely an indicator that your computer is not powerful enough to edit hi-def video or that it is not properly tuned.
If you're interested, there are much more detailed explanations for all of this in my books, available on Amazon and at Muvipix.com.

  • Export of Elements 12 Project for use in Premiere Pro

Hello. Simply (or not so simply), I just want to know if I can export a Premiere Elements 12 Project for use in Premiere Pro CS6 or CC. I would like some form of verification such as a page in a manual or a link to a web page. Just getting the answer "Yes" will not do. Sorry but this has been very difficult to locate and am concerned it can't happen.
    Thanks,
    BK

"Adobe's target audience is just not likely to later need to edit a Project in a professional NLE."
Thanks Bill and I understand. However, given the current choices of NLE's today and many Professional Users "scrambling" to find replacements for FCP7 and "aging" Avid, I would think that the workflow I'm suggesting might be a cost effective and viable alternative that Adobe should consider very seriously. If it was never brought to their attention before, I'm mentioning it now!
If we can avoid the cost of putting PrPro into the hands of Preditors and leave the Pro Finishing to the real Pros, that would be very helpful not only financially but it would make learning and working with the software much easier for them using Elements.
So, I guess the only way to find out if this works, is to download the trial versions of each and have at it.
Unless someone out there already has both of the most current versions and is willing to try this?
Either way, I'll have to find out sooner or later because we are moving to Pro eventually.
    Thanks again,
    Bob K.

  • Maximum file size for importing into Premiere Pro CS6

    Hi,
I'm considering recording raw video, no compression at 720p, 30 fps for 20-30 min.  This woudl result in a file that is close to 80 Gbytes.  I'm wondering what the maximum file size for importing into premiere Pro is and if I need to split this file up into smaller pieces.  Any recommendations on how I may deal with uncompressed raw video that is pretty long in length?
    Thanks,
    Serena

There is bound to be some limit somewhere in the program, but you should be well below that. The biggest issue might be whether your computer is up to the task of handling it. If you will post your computer specs., someone will give you comments on that aspect.
    Good luck,

  • Options for converting '.vob' files for editing in PP Pro CS3...

    Hi,
I'm using PP Pro CS3 (Windows) and I have a few projects here where the source material are '.vob' files only.
Now because PP Pro doesn't support that file format, I'm looking for options to convert this footage to a format - suitable for editing in PP Pro CS3 - that does NOT explode in file size.
Converting to uncompressed .avi is up 20 times the file size, DV .avi is about 5-10 times the file size.
Here are the options I've tried so far:
    1. importing '.vob' files straight into PP via the Avisynth method
--> works, but PP crashes randomly and it always crashes when rendering more than 2-3 min
--> all my system drivers are up to date
    2. renaming to .mpg or .avi
--> works for some files (only) but you get random red frames in your footage
    3. converting to mpeg-2 via...
    a. Carbon Coder - best quality so far - looks like original
    b. Premiere Elements 4 - no de-interlacing option, takes way too long, quality worse than original
    c. MPEGStreamclip - no options selectable, quality is worse than original
    4. converting to 'DV avi' via...
    Carbon Coder - PE 4 - MPEGStreamclip - VirtualDubMod
--> file size explodes (5-10 times of the original .vob file), quality looks on all kinda the same and NOT better than the mpeg-2 output from Carbon Coder - that's why I don't wanna take the storage hit...
Are there any other methods or ways to convert '.vob' files to a suitable editing format (with a reasonable file size) ?
    Thanx for your help !
    Mike

Take the storage hit and be done with it. Hard drives are cheap these days. Editing takes lots of space. Might as well get used to it.
