The problem showed up when i had iOS 4.3.5, now i'm iOS 5 Beta 5 and is still there!!
Regards.
Some images here.
The word is "Llegué"
The word is "Quedé"
The word is "Años"
The word is "Quién"
PS. Sorry for my bad english

Sounds that you have a problem with the font that is used to display those characters.<br />
You can try some different default fonts (e.g. Arial, Verdana, Tahoma) to see if you can identify the not working font.<br />
You will have to reinstall or refresh that font.

  • ISO-8859-1 Special Characters turn to Question Marks; How to post Resumes?

    I am building a web based application and I have a TextArea in an HTML form. Users can copy and paste their resumes (source - Microsoft Word Docs) into this text area. Once the resume is posted, tomcat handles the request. The request is posted to another JSP, Struts Action Class (Any Java Class that can write to a database).
    When I do a System.out.println(request.getParameter("resume")); I the special characters like bullets and quotes and a bunch of others are getting transformed to Question Marks. When I insert the resume into an Oracle Database (into a clob field) they are still being saved a question marks.
    I have a JSP Page that displays the posted resume. It has 2 things - It writes the request.getParameter("resume") to the HTML and this comes out fine. But when it writes the resume that is retrieved from the oracle database, i am getting back question marks.
    I understand that Java uses unicode for character encoding/representation and I tried changing my HTML page's charset to UTF-8. Did not work. I see that there are a million websites that let users copy and paste their resumes. How are these resumes stored and retrieved from a database using server side java? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    -kal

  • Why do Hebrew language characters show as question marks?

    On my office web, when an email from Israel is posted , the title is shown as question marks. When I respond or forward a Hebrew text it also comes up as question marks

    Mail encoding suffer from some problems that doesn't exists on the web. It is possible that you are getting these messages from outdated mail software that is unable to encode subjects correctly.
    If this is the case, you may get Hebrew messages correctly, but from some users get it with some encoding problems. I do remember that users whose used hotmail.com was affecting such problems, but I guess Microsoft have fixed it already. On the other hand, some popular web forums software that use email notifications sometimes doesn't encode subjects correctly, and this issue also apply to the software in use by some spammers (but I'd care less about spammers…).

  • Mail with French / Spanish accented characters appear as Question marks

    Hi
    I am facing issues in mails that have French / Spanish accented characters in mail subject.Accented characters appear as Question marks (?) when received in the inbox.Mail subject is read from properties file.
    Please let me know the following
    - Should I have the entries in properties file in Unicode ? For example French accent character  is represented as &#225;
    - Should I replace msg.setSubject(subject); to msg.setSubject(subject,"UTF-8");
    Please suggest.
    Below is code snippet :
         Session session = getSession();
                   // create a message
                   Message msg = new MimeMessage(session);
                   // set the from and to address
                   InternetAddress addressFrom = new InternetAddress(from);
                   InternetAddress[] addressTo = new InternetAddress[recipients.length];
                   for (int i = 0; i < recipients.length; i++)
                        addressTo[i] = new InternetAddress(recipients);
                   msg.setFrom(addressFrom);
                   msg.setRecipients(Message.RecipientType.TO, addressTo);
                   msg.setSentDate(new Date());
    *               msg.setSubject(subject);*
                   MimeMultipart mp = new MimeMultipart("related");

    String subject = "\u00C 9tat de l'inscription en ligne";You need 4 hex digits after \u. You only included 3.
    mailSubject = new String(subject.getBytes(), "UTF-8");
    message.setSubject(MimeUtility.encodeText(mailSubject,"UTF-8", "B"), "UTF-8");Remove the above two lines. You're trying to make
    this much too hard. All you need is:
    message.setSubject(subject, "utf-8");
    Should I use ISO8859_1 as Charset or UTF-8 ?I think the characters you're included are
    representable in iso-8859-1 so you can use
    that.
    I am using Outlook express as my mail client. Do we have to decode it ?No.

  • PDF mail attachments are shown as question mark instead of preview or icon.

    When I receive a mail with PDF attachment, I can see paper clip on the header of mail. This is fine. However, Apple Mail does not show as preview or icon. I can see only a box with border and a question mark sign "?" in the middle. If I click the "?" symbol, preview opens the PDF attachment properly.
    It is fine for other mail attachment such as .DOC or .JPG. Either I can see preview or as icon.
    Is there anybody who knows the solution of this problem?
    P.S. I use OS X Yosemite 10.10.1 but problem was existing also with Mavericks.

    No, I don't think so. Same attachment is shown properly on the my colleague's Mac who is another recipient for same e-mail. There is something wrong about my Mac.

  • BIP in Oracle EBS R12.1 - Characters displayed as question marks

    Hi,
    We have recently upgraded to EBS 12.1.1, and have noticed that since doing so some characters in PDF outputs (from BIP reports run in EBS) are being displayed as question marks.
    The Templates are created using the font Arial, and the characters that are being displayed incorrectly are 'long dashes' "–" (\endash) and where Microsoft Word has group three full stops together "..." (\'85)
    An Example, the text in MS Word and in the PDF when run using Oracle BI Publisher Desktop is:
    Three full stops ……………
    A long dash –
    A short dash -
    However the output in PDF when running the report in EBS is:
    Three full stops ?????
    A long dash ?
    A short dash -
    Has anyone come across this before, or does anyone know of a way to resolve it. I have tried uploading an Arial font file and creating mappings (although Arial already exists as a seeded font file) but this has not resolved the issue.
    Regards
    Carl

    Hello,
    Check if you have all necessary fonts under your jre/lib/fonts ($AF_JRE_TOP and $OA_JRE_TOP) on all your web and concurrent nodes. Or, try to copy the fonts from $FND_TOP/resource (check post install steps for XMLP 5.6.3). Mid-tier bounce needed after copy.
    Hope this helps.

  • Slideshow controls are shown as question marks

    I know since the end of MobileMe the pop up slideshow doesn't work properly.  I'm trying to fix the missing controls.  When you click play slideshow, the slideshow pops up, but at the bottom, the play/pause, etc. controls are question marks.  I've tried to follow Old Toad's tutorial listed here:
    http://www.oldtoadstutorials.net/No.iW14.html
    but I am still having problems.
    I have mulptile sites in iweb that have already been published with slideshows.  So, I need to fix all of them at this point.  I've changed the item that he refers to in the tutorial and uploaded it to the website's server.  I've tried putting in different folders; the scripts folder, the slideshow_files folder, just in the root folder, but it is not working.  What am I missing?  Any thoughts about what I need to try next.  Thanks for your help!

    If you are changing the script in the iWeb package you will need to republish every slideshow from iWeb for the updates to appear in the published version.
    You could modify the local or remote versions of the file outside of iWeb but you would need to do this every time you publish changes to your site. See [2]...

  • Unicode characters are shown as "question marks" in Eclipse console

    I am trying to retrieve Unicode data from Sybase database using jdbc.
    The data are stored in Sybase with unichar and univarchar datatypes.
    Following is the java code tring to run.
    {color:#808080}public class Test
    public static void main(String [] args) throws Exception
    CoreServiceSoapBindingStub binding_Core = new CoreServiceSoapBindingStub();
    CoreWSServiceLocator locator_Core = new CoreWSServiceLocator();
    binding_Core = (CoreServiceSoapBindingStub) locator_Core.getCoreService();
    Contact[] con = binding_Core.getContact();
    for(int i=0;i< con.length;++i)
    System.out.println(con.getLastName());
    }{color}
    The result of this code in Eclipse console should be as follow (consists of one English and one Japanese name).
    {color:#808080}Suzuki
    &#37428;&#26408;{color}
    However when I run this, I get the following.
    {color:#808080}Suzuki
    {color}
    The alphabetical characters seem to diplay fine in the console, but foreign characters are not....
    The default character set of the database is ISO-8859-1, but I used unichar and univarchar to store data in unicode thus believe no issue at database side...
    Used jconnect 6.05 (com.sybase.jdbc3.jdbc.SybDriver
    ) for the database driver.
    Java files are encoded in UTF-8.
    Console Encoding is UTF-8.
    Is this an issue in database driver?
    Since I set the parameters for character set to UTF-8 in both the database and java files....
    It would be great if someone could give some comments on this issue....
    Thanks a lot.

    It might be better to ask this question on an Eclipse forum. I have a couple of suggestions, but none of them have made the output in my console look entirely correct:
    1. Try to start Eclipse with these parameters: -vmargs -Dfile.encoding=UTF-8
    2. Try switching the font settings for the Console under Preferences in Eclipse.

  • Japanese character in Code Editor of "View" is shown as Question Marks

    Hi All,
    I have a probelm where I tried to create a view having decode function as shown below:
    decode(A.resource_process_name,
            'ザイコ', 'Inventory',
            'PP良後', 'Wafer BE',
            'PP良前', 'Wafer FE',
            'PP良済', 'Wafer',
            'PP良引', 'Wafer in transit',
            A.resource_process_name
      ) as step_code
    Data type of A.resource_process_name is NVARCHAR2. Data in "STEP_CODE" column is displayed correctly after translation using decode function when I run select statement of this view. I don't have any issue till this point.
    But problem happens when I try to see/open the script/code of this view in the SQL Developer (Right click view --> Edit...). It shows me the code of decode function as shown below:
    decode(A.resource_process_name,
            '¿¿¿', 'Inventory',
            'PP¿¿', 'Wafer BE',
            'PP¿¿', 'Wafer FE',
            'PP¿¿', 'Wafer',
            'PP¿¿', 'Wafer in transit',
            A.resource_process_name
    Can you please suggest whay should be done so that the code should be visible in it is original format i.e., it should show decode function with Japanese characters?

    It might be better to ask this question on an Eclipse forum. I have a couple of suggestions, but none of them have made the output in my console look entirely correct:
    1. Try to start Eclipse with these parameters: -vmargs -Dfile.encoding=UTF-8

    Hi, all. My AT&T Blackberry Curve 8900 loaded with the AT&T East-asian rom can read and write Chinese, in IM, email, webpages. There is only one problem with the outgoing emails. I can compose an Email in Chinese and send it. The email is displayed correctly on my phone, but when shown up in the receiving email-box, all chinese characters will become question marks.

  • Export arabic character into csv file turns into question mark in sql dev

    Hi,
    I am trying to export a table's output that contains some arabic and english mixed data, when I try to export it in csv, all the arabic characters change into question mark (?) but the same export is working fine on .xls or .xlsx.
    Since we have to export a huge data and csv is much faster thar .xls, kindly let me know why it is happening and what is the solution for this.
    Well, we are on Oracle 11gR2 and Sql Dev is 3.1
    Appreciate your time and experience sharing.
    Regards.

    Hi,
    Since you say it works for xls but not csv, and the only applicable preference setting ( Tools|Preferences|Database|Utilities|Export|Encoding ) should apply to all export formats, I would imagine this is a bug. Especially if the encoding specified in Preferences is consistent with the client OS settings. I was not able to find any prior bug logged against the Export utility for this issue.
    I logged a bug for this:

    Hi,
    I customized Refinement Panel to refine by file name. In some cases the value (file name) is shown with question mark instead of space. It looks like gibberish and the refine by that value doesn't bring the result.
    Any ideas how to solve?

  • Handle special characters in SQLPLUSW window.

    Dear SQL Gurus,
    In my organisation every day we receive some data changes from developers and we need to do those changes in all databases. I developed a shell script to automate this procedure. but the problem I am facing problem with special characters like TM(trade mark), (R) - reserved character.
    To store these values in the database our team members are using TOAD for insert operations. If I execute the same statemenst from SQL prompt I am not able to store the special characters in database.
    we are using 10.2.0.4 version on sun solaris10. Please help me in this.
    Thanks,
    KPS

    Dear Saubhik,
    please let me know the procedure to insert the special character from SQL prompt. You explained about how to retrive from database using select statement. It is really good. our developers give the insert statements in word documents. so that they can place the special characters.
    Thanks,
