Specific SQL statements for custom report?

I am trying to create a custom report that gives me the System Name, Operating System, Manufacturer, Model, and Last HW Scan. I am not a SQL expert, but which statements would I need to select when I am in SCCM Console and creating a new report? It lists
hundreds of them. Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance.

This query will get you started.

  • Adding a field to an sql statement in Oracle Reports error ORA-00933

    We have been requested to add a field that already exists in the table referred to by the sql statement in Oracle Reports Builder. The report was set up by a consultant about 3 yrs ago and we don't really have much skill in this area. What is happening when I try to modify the SQL statement, either adding a field or deleting a field to the SELECT statement, causes an error message preventing the statement from being saved. The only way out of the error message is to click Cancel. The error message is
    ORA-00933:SQL command not properly ended
    ORDER BY Program ==> NAME
    Even adding or deleting a space anywhere in the SQL statement causes the error (not adding any new fields). A coworker found that if we comment out the ORDER BY, the statement will accept the new field in the SELECT section, however then we lose the order by functionality. I would like to add one additional field before the FROM. Not sure if any additional data are needed. Thank you.

    Hi Denis,
    I tried your suggestion. The good thing is that adding the comma allowed me to be able to add a.campus to the select statement, unfortunately, another error message happened.
    ORA-00936: missing expression SELECT p . person_uid PIDM_KEY ,

    CASE WHEN : P_group_by = 'PROGRAM THEN a I started over and tried only putting in the comma and get the same message even though I didn't add campus. After that, removed the comma which led to the ORA-00933 error message. So once again, I had to close the file without saving, in order for the report to run at all.

  • Need help on SQL Statement for UDF

    Hi,
    as I am not so familiar with SQL statements on currently selected values, I urgently need help.
    The scenario looks as follows:
    I have defined two UDFs named Subgroup1 and Subgroup2 which represent the subgroups dependent on my article groups. So for example: When the user selects article group "pianos", he only sees the specific subgroups like "new pianos" and "used pianos" in field "Subgroup1". After he has selected one of these specific values, he sees only the specific sub-subgroups in field "Subgroup2", like "used grand pianos".
    I have defined UDTs for both UDFs. The UDT for field "Subgroup1" has a UDF called "ArticleGroup" which represents the relation to the article group codes. The UDT for field "Subgroup2" has a UDF called "Subgroup1" which represents the relation to the subgroups one level higher.
    The SQL statement for the formatted search in field "Subgroup1" looks as follows:
    SELECT T0.[Name] FROM [dbo].[@B_SUBGROUP1]  T0 WHERE T0.[U_ArticleGroup]  = (SELECT $[OITM.ItmsGrpCod])
    It works fine.
    However, I cannot find the right statement for the formatted search in field "Subgroup2".
    Unfortunately this does NOT WORK:
    SELECT T0.[Name] FROM [dbo].[@B_SUBGROUP2]  T0 WHERE T0.[U_Subgroup1]  = (SELECT $[OITM.U_Subgroup1])
    I tried a lot of others that didn't work either.
    Then I tried the following one:
    SELECT T0.[Name] FROM [dbo].[@B_SUBGROUP2]  T0 WHERE T0.[U_Subgroup1] = (SELECT T1.[Code] FROM [dbo].[@B_SUBGROUP1] T1 WHERE T1.[U_ArticleGroup] = (SELECT $[OITM.ItmsGrpCod]))
    Unfortunately that only works as long as there is only one specific subgroup1 for the selected article group.
    I would be sooooo happy if there is anyone who can tell me the correct statement for my second UDF!
    Thanks so much in advance!!!!

    Please ignore the "http://" in the above statements - it is certainly not part of my SQL.
    Please also ignore the strikes.

    Hello Dear,
    Use the below queries to get the values:
    Item Sub Group on the basis of Item Group
    SELECT T0.[Name] FROM [dbo].[@SUBGROUP]  T0 WHERE T0.[U_GroupCod] =$[OITM.ItmsGrpCod]
    Item Sub Group 1 on the basis of item sub group
    SELECT T0.[Name] FROM [dbo].[@SUBGROUP1]  T0 WHERE T0.[U_SubGrpCod]=(SELECT T0.[Code] FROM [dbo].[@SUBGROUP]  T0 WHERE T0.[Name] =$[OITM.U_ItmsSubgrp])
    Sub group 2 on the basis of sub group 1
    SELECT T0.[Name] FROM [dbo].[@SUBGROUP2]  T0 WHERE T0.[U_SubGrpCod1]=(SELECT T0.[Code] FROM [dbo].[@SUBGROUP1]  T0 WHERE T0.[Name] =$[OITM.U_ItmsSubgrp1])
    this will help you.

  • Sql statement for network version of JavaDB database

    Hi,
    Could somebody please tell is it a must to have double quote for field name inside the SQL statement for JavaDB
    I am developing the project using netbean 5.5.1 IDE
    integrating netwok version of JavaDB.
    example
    select "field1","field2" from table1
    instead of the simple sql like
    select field1,field2 from table1
    I find that simple select sql query could not work without having the double quotation eclosed for any of the fieldname called by the SQL statement.
    I am not sure is it only unique to netbeans IDE environment , in principle simple plain query should work , this is however not for netbeans IDE, wht is the reason behind?
    Thanks

    The Quotes around the fieldnames are normally only needed if the field is the same as a reserved word, or has a non-standard character in the field. Look at the JavaDB/Derby manual (specifically the one with the SQL reference) to find out what the reserved words and special characters are, then redefine your table.

  • Get an set the SQL statement from a report at runtime

    i know there is an opportunity to filter the records by using setRecordSelectionFormula() method...but i wondered if you can anyhow get the whole SQL statement that is in the report. i think it would be very useful for many developers to maipulate the SQL directly like you were able to using the PE-functions in the old CRPE32.DLL...
    but in CR XI the CRPE32.DLL is no longer supported. now we have to substitute these functions with the JRC but i am not sure if it provides everything we had in the CRPE32.DLL...
    after all i do not understand why the CRPE32.DLL is still delivered but not supported. in my CR XI R2 installtion i found this file signed with version 11.5.3.438
    by the way it is a question of performance...a query would be faster if you could directly query the database by changing the reports sql statement instead of allowing the report to retrieve all data and then performing the filtering.
    so please, for the next version of the JRC give us the opportunity to get an set the sql statement of a report directly!

    Not an option. crpe32 is proprietory and the SQL we generate is to complex to assume it will be done correctly. Which is why the ability was removed

  • SQL Tuning Advisor on a specific SQL statement

    Hi all,
    How can I used SQL Tuning Advisor in Oracle EM Database Control to tune a specific SQL statement; i.e. the statement is not any of: Top SQL, SQL Tuning Sets, Snapshots Preserved Snapshot Sets.
    Thanks in advance,
    Ahmed B.

    Hi,
    You can use either the automatic SQL tuning features that are accessible from Enterprise Manager Database Console on the "Advisor Central" page or trough SQL*PLUS using the DBMS_SQLTUNE pakage:
    -- creating the tuning task
    set serveroutput on
    declare
      l_sql_tune_task_id  varchar2(100);
    begin
      l_sql_tune_task_id := dbms_sqltune.create_tuning_task (
                              sql_id      => '<your_sql_id>',
                              scope       => dbms_sqltune.scope_comprehensive,
                              time_limit  => 60,
                              task_name   => '<your_tuning_task_name>',
                              description => 'tuning task for statement your_sql_id.');
      dbms_output.put_line('l_sql_tune_task_id: ' || l_sql_tune_task_id);
    end;
    -- executing the tuning task
    exec dbms_sqltune.execute_tuning_task(task_name => '<your_tuning_task_name>');
    -- displaying the recommendations
    set long 100000;
    set longchunksize 1000
    set pagesize 10000
    set linesize 100
    select dbms_sqltune.report_tuning_task('<your_tuning_task_name>') as recommendations from dual;For more information, take a look at link provided by Jaffy.

  • Tip: adding metadata for customized reporting

    Users sometimes build their own custom reports around dimensions specific to their company. For example, a bank may want to know about financial data elements that are high priority, but violate completeness rules. You can do this with Data Insight 11.5.1.1.
    Simply have your Data Insight administrator choose weights, dimensions, priorities, and so on in their Data Insight UI. All of the users can choose Rule Classifications when they edit/create a rule and specify the appropriate items. This metadata is stored in the repository, which you can easily query for custom reports.
    For more details, check the Data Insight User's Guide. Enjoy!

    Hi,
    I hope you wont mind me asking for the steps on how to do this.
    The customized data source which i had obtained from the ecc6 is zskat. And the local language which are actually being maintained in the R/3 FI-GL. The following fields in zskat datasource are:
    KTOPL     Chart of Accounts
    MCOD1     Search Term for Matchcode Search
    SAKNR     G/L Account Number
    SPRAS     Language Key
    TXT20       G/L account short text
    TXT50       G/L Account Long Text
    If i am not wrong, SPRAS would be the key to the language right? I found that it is in the table T002, but again, how would i know which one would be the correct text?
    Since the language translation had been maintained in the source system, i guess i wont need to use the flat file option do i?
    Should I find the text data from the source system and load as you had advised? Should I do it through DTP and so on?
    Could you show me some steps by steps if possible? Simple one if possible.
    Cheers
    Tommy

  • Transaction code for Custom report

    Hi,
    How to create transaction code for Custom report ?
    the custom report is a drilldown report of COPA, which can seen in tcode  FDI3.
    then how to add this new transaction to the menu path Easy assess->FI->AR->Information system->Reports->customers:items.
    Thanks,
    Swetha

    Hi Swetha,
    There is a special way to assign tcodes to such reports. Normally you create the report via report painter/writer. These reports are part of library and report group.
    Create the tcode in SE93. Then at the bottom of the screen you would find option to specify report group, report name, variant to lauch with. Don't have system to specify the exact way of specifying, if you need I can provide on monday. You can take some existing COPA standard report and check from SE93.

    Is it  possible to write nested SQL statements for complex, detailed queries. A nested query

  • Preparing Dynamic SQL statement for inserting in Pro*C

    Hi Friends,
    From quite some time i am struggling writing Dynamic SQL statement for dynamic insert and update in Pro*C.
    Can somebody go through my code and suggest me the rigth way of doing.
    Right now it throws an error saying " Error while updating ORA-00904: invalid column name "
    Please help me.
    Girish.
    int main()
    EXEC SQL BEGIN DECLARE SECTION;
    char *uid ="scott/tiger";
    static char sqlstmt[129];
    struct /* DEPT record */
    int dept_num;
    char dept_name[15];
    char location[14];
    } dept_rec;
    EXEC SQL END DECLARE SECTION;
    EXEC SQL WHENEVER SQLERROR DO sql_error();
    EXEC SQL CONNECT :uid;
    dept_rec.dept_num = 50;
    strcpy(dept_rec.dept_name,"ADMIN");
    strcpy(dept_rec.location,"IN");
    strcpy(sqlstmt,"UPDATE dept set DNAME = dept_rec.dept_name where DEPTNO = dept_rec.dept_num");
    EXEC SQL EXECUTE IMMEDIATE:sqlstmt;
    EXEC SQL COMMIT;
    exit(0);
    void sql_error()
    printf("\nError while updating %s",sqlca.sqlerrm.sqlerrmc);
    EXEC SQL ROLLBACK;
    }

    A bit rusty here but this is how I see it.
    Think of it this way ..
    all Oracle is going to see is:
    UPDATE dept set DNAME = dept_rec.dept_name where DEPTNO = dept_rec.dept_num
    Its NOT going to know what dept_rec.dept_name is or dept_rec.dept_num is ..
    it doesnt go back and fill in those values.
    You need something like
    strcpy(sqlstmt,"UPDATE dept set DNAME = \"");
    strcat(sqlstmt,dept_rec.dept_name);
    strcat(sqlstmt,"\" where DEPTNO = ");
    strcat(sqlstmt,dept_rec.dept_num);
    printf(sqlsmt); # Just to be sure the update statement look right during testing.

    I am facing this issue in R12. Is this patch applicable to R12?I belive its not. But u can check Solution part 4 for your instance, at least it can give you idea. The other note in metalink related bug and all for R11 too.
    I belive its better way to rise Sr while waiting other forum user response to that thread
