Specify domains to proxy rather than to bypass
In the Network Preference Pane for setting up a proxy there's a field to add domains to bypass. Rather than setting the domains to bypass I'm wanting to be able to set the domains to include. Is there a way to setup my machine so that I only route traffic for specific domains thru the proxy server?
Thanks.
Perhaps this would be of use?

When I try to open a link to a file.docx or file.xlsx, FF sees it as an xml file and wants to open it in my default xml application. I can select Word or Excel (I have Office 2010 installed), but a) it doesn't remember that in the applications list, so I have to browse applications each time, or b) if I set it to always use that type, it tries to open docx in Excel or xlsx in Word, depending on last usage. How can I specify applications by file extension instead of seeing these as the same type of file?
Thanks,
Ian
FF 15.0.1, Win 7, Office 2010I don't know if the source server sends the right mime type - it probably doesn't. In fact, now you mention it, I'm not sure I've tried this from any sites except one, which is the one giving me problems. I'll try contacting them about fixing their mime types. Assuming though that they can't or won't fix it, the question still remains - is it possible to set application by extension rather than by mime type?
Yeah, I can definitely save it and open it, just trying to take the easiest possible route for a quick view.
Thanks. -

Team,
users are unable to expand public folder from outlook, but they are able to navigate through outlook web access.
noticed the outlook connections are connected to other child domain PF server rather than local site public folder server.
due to this issue, users are unable to navigate to pf's , by restarting RPC Client access service , now users are able to connect to local public folder servers.
all the databases are pointed to local pf database. all the settings looks good.
any suggestions would be appreciated.

Srinivasa KHi Srinivasa,
How about OWA?
If it works in OWA, it seems an issue on the Outlook client side.
I suggest run Outlook under safe mode to avoid some AVs and add-ins.
I also suggest make sure the Outlook client has the latest patch.
Also try to re-install Outlook.
Thanks

I have used the following URL as my firefox home page for quite some time:
https://www.google.com/search?num=100&safe=off&hl=en&complete=0&q=Rochester-NY+CDC.gov+|+NIH.gov&btnG=Search
Several months ago, malware of some sort replaced this url with one of their own. I got rid of the malware and put back my original home page, but I'm continuing have a problem: Every time firefox goes to my home page, rather than using the whole url that I've specified, firefox truncates this url to just the first 87 characters, and goes to this truncated url instead:
https://www.google.com/search?num=100&safe=off&hl=en&complete=0&q=Rochester-NY+CDC.gov+
Not only is this not the url that I have specified in the General tab under Options in the Tools menu, I always get an error message in an additional tab whenever Firefox goes to this truncated version of my home page. Can anyone tell me what I need to do to get firefox to use the entire url I have specified as my home page in the General Tab under Options?
I do not know if this is relevant or not, but I noticed that prefs.js includes two other user prefs related to the home page in addition to the one that identifies the url I chose:
user_pref("browser.startup.homepage", "https://www.google.com/search?num=100&safe=off&hl=en&complete=0&q=Rochester-NY+CDC.gov+|+NIH.gov&btnG=Search");
user_pref("browser.startup.homepage_override.buildID", "20130617145905");
user_pref("browser.startup.homepage_override.mstone", "22.0");You need to escape the pipe character as %7c if you want to include it in the URL

Hello al!
I created a website with iWeb but use GoDady for hosting it rather than MobileMe. The images on my Gallery page do not show at all on the external domain but they DO show when seen on MobileMe. Has anyone encountered this problem before? Many thanks!Just create a new page (or use the existing photo page) on your external site and use html to add an iframe sized to the page and link it to the mobilme gallery page. Works for me just fine when showing my gallery from a yahoo site.
like this
<iframe scrolling="off" allowTransparency="true" frameborder="0" scrolling="yes" style="width:100%;height:100%;border:none" src="http://gallery.me.com/your_account_name"></iframe> -
Can i change imported RGB colours to specified CMYK colours quickly in Indesign rather than doing ea
Can i change imported RGB colours from a word doc to specified CMYK (already in the swatch panel) colours quickly in Indesign rather than doing each one manually?
Is there a script so you can allocate rgb colours to cmyk colours?oh yeah, I see... You definitely need a script, so you better post this request in script forum. Since it quite scriptable (I believe), you need to know exactly (tell to the script) what colors to find and change to what. So it would work only on the specific pre-defined list of colors. I'm using something very similar regarding the fonts (I get regularly files where I need to change bunch of fonts to their alternatives). Not sure if it's possible to modify it for colors - I see some essential differences here. I'm not a scripter...

Possible to display domain value range descriptions rather than values?
Hi All,
We're using ECC6.
I have a context input field on my view, which is bound to a data type that is bound to a domain. The values are brought back from the domain automatically but when the user selects a row, the fixed value is displayed rather than the description, i.e. the code for the value is displayed rather than the short description.
This is not acceptable. Before I go off and code something for this instead is there a parameter I can set to tell it to display the description rather than the code.
Many thanks,
Liz.HI Liz,
You can read the domain name i guess, then you can use the Function Module DD_DOMVALUES_GET, make the call as
CALL FUNCTION 'DD_DOMVALUES_GET'
EXPORTING
domname = i_dom_name
text = 'X'
langu = sy-langu
IMPORTING
rc = lv_rc
TABLES
dd07v_tab = t_dd07v
EXCEPTIONS
wrong_textflag = 1
OTHERS = 2.
you should get the short description in the field ddtext of result t_dd07v.
Now instead of creating a domain you can provide these values to the valid values for your context dynamically.
Hope this helps.

We want to deploy to all our desktop the pac file to configure proxy. We have a Windows 2008 R2 server, and i've enabled the GPO "Make proxy settings per-machine (rather than per user)", and i've add a registry key AutoConfigURL in "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current
Version\Internet Settings" with the pac file link.
I've tested on my pc, and all was configured without any problem. I've try to login to my computer with another user (without admin rights) and the automatic configuration proxy was compiled and not modificable. It's seems that all works.
But, our users are not local admin, so i've tried to deploy the GPO in a collegue computer. I've forced the update of GPO, checked on registry that all new keys are added, and i've reboot the pc. When i've check on IE settings, autoconfig URL was empty and
grey. I'm disconnected from user and i've login to the pc with a local admin. With my surprise, the IE settings was compiled. When i'm come bac to the user profile the IE settings was compiled and not modificable.
The problem is: i've over 750 users in 3 countries, and i don't want grant them the local admin permissions. How can i configure proxy settings via GPO without login to every machine at least one time?> have a Windows 2008 R2 server, and i've enabled the GPO "Make proxy

In the past, we experienced various issues with machine proxy settings,
so we don't use them anymore. The simple approach:
Block access to the connections page through ADM template settings and
deploy the proxy through GPP Internet Settings.
This is what we do (with a pac file, too), and it works well :)

Displaying specified colors on the pie chart rather than default colors
Any ideas on how I can display my own colors on the pie charts rather than displaying default colors?
Hi,
You can specify your own colours by changing the default CSS styles.
Go to the Chart Attributes for the pie chart, and in the CSS section select Yes in the "Use Custom CSS" option. You can now edit the CSS for the chart.
At the bottom of the "Custom CSS, inline" setting, you need to add in two lines for each possible segment of the chart. Something like:
rect.data1{stroke:#FFFFFF;stroke-width:0.5;fill:green;}
path.data1{stroke:#FFFFFF;stroke-width:0.5;fill:green;}
rect.data2{stroke:#FFFFFF;stroke-width:0.5;fill:yellow;}
path.data2{stroke:#FFFFFF;stroke-width:0.5;fill:yellow;}
rect.data3{stroke:#FFFFFF;stroke-width:0.5;fill:red;}
path.data3{stroke:#FFFFFF;stroke-width:0.5;fill:red;}
This will set the colours of the first three segments to green, yellow and red respectively. Add in more rect.datan and path.datan entries until you have accounted for the maximum number of segments that your chart may contain.

Can i create DB in shared mem, rather than backed by a file
Hi
I'm using db 4.2.6 version and trying to create a DB in shared mem rather than a file. How do I achieve that.
While I look at documentation here:
http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/berkeley-db/db/programmer_reference/env_region.html
==========
If the DB_SYSTEM_MEM flag is specified to DB->open(), shared regions are created in system memory rather than files. This is an alternative mechanism for sharing the Berkeley DB environment among multiple processes and multiple threads within processes.
===========
But DB->open() rejects DB_SYSTEM_MEM flat out. db->open() doesn't even talk about flag:
http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/berkeley-db/db/api_reference/C/dbopen.html
I could specify DB_SYSTEM_MEM for DBENV.
Here is my code. Also DBENV->open() won't let me specify DB_PRIVATE.
flags = DB_INIT_MPOOL | DB_CREATE | DB_SYSTEM_MEM | DB_INIT_TXN | DB_RECOVER | DB_INIT_LOG |
DB_LOG_AUTOREMOVE;
dbenv->open(dbenv, dbhome, flags, 0);
flags = DB_CREATE | DB_EXCL| DB_AUTO_COMMIT;
dbp->open(dbp, NULL, dbfile, NULL, DB_BTREE, flags, 0);If I create db as above, where is it getting created? I don't see it here:
# ./bdbperf -t -i 10000 -k 32 -v 128;ls -la dbtest
create log/transaction
creating in system mem
inserted 10000 records. errs 0

inserting 10000 records took 0s.290ms (29 micros/op)

When reading the documentation, I would indicate to read the documentation from the release package you downloaded. The online documentation is accurate for the latest BDB release.

That's a documentation error, it should refer to the DB_ENV->open()method. Thanks for pointing it out! As you can see, the DB_SYSTEM_MEM is linked to the DB_ENV->open() method: http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/berkeley-db/db/api_reference/C/envopen.html#envopen_DB_SYSTEM_MEM

user3143985 wrote:
2. how do I get stats for such DB?If you want to allocate region memory from the heap instead of from memory backed by the filesystem or system shared memory, you'll have to specify DB_PRIVATE ( http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/berkeley-db/db/api_reference/C/envopen.html#envopen_DB_PRIVATE ). DB_PRIVATE should not be specified if more than a single process is accessing the environment because it is likely to cause database corruption and unpredictable behavior. For example, if both a server application and Berkeley DB utilities (for example, db_archive, db_checkpoint or db_stat) are expected to access the environment, the DB_PRIVATE flag should not be specified.

Can I use LDAP server's authentication mechanism rather than comparing password ?
Hi All,
The weblogic security and adminguide says that the user authencation can be of
the following 3 types:
1. Bind specifies that the LDAP security realm
retrieves user data, including the password for
the LDAP server, and checks the password in
WebLogic Server.
2. External specifies that the LDAP security
realm authenticates a User by attempting to
bind to the LDAP server with the username
and password supplied by theWebLogic
Server client. If you choose the External
setting, you must also use the SSL protocol.
3. Local specifies that the LDAP security realm
authenticates a User by looking up the
UserPassword property in the LDAP directory
and checking it against the passwords in
WebLogic Server.
But say I want that my users should be authenticated by the LDAP server rather
than picking up the password from LDAP and comparing at weblogic end. Then what
should I do ?
Because no. 2 is applicable only for ssl certificates, no.1 and no.3 picks up
password using the login dn and password provided at the time of configuration
of realm and compare with password given by user.
And once gain there some issues on having picking up password and comparing it:
1. Netscape directory server can store the password in oneway hashed form(and
that is preferred , too). So when userpassword attribute is read , it's in one
way hashed form. So how the comparison will go on ?
2. Creating a user who has the access to user data along with userpassword attribute
itself is a security threat, as if someone can crack that user's dn and password
then he/she can do anything as userdata can be read.
Any suggestion is welcome.
TIA,
SudarsonThanks a lot Jerry.
I got these stuff from weblogic 6.1 docs sets security.pdf and adminguide.pdf.
I have another question, if that is the case (in Case of BIND), then why do we
a require a dn of user and password who has the access to read the entire directory
And at the same time, u specified this for Bind, what are the cases for other
two-local and external ? And then what is actually difference between Bind and
Local ?
Pls help me.
Thanks,
Sudarson
Jerry <[email protected]> wrote:
Hi Sudarson,
Whatever doc you were reading is at least partially incorrect, unfortunately...
I know for sure that when you specify BIND, weblogic sends the username/password
to your
LDAP server in an attempt to bind to it.
If the bind is successful, WLS determines that the username/password
pair were correct.
If the bind was unsuccessful, WLS determines that the username/password
pairing is not
valid.
At all times, WebLogic is letting the LDAP server do the actual compare
of
username/password. WLS does not, at any time, retrieve a password from
the LDAP server.
I hope this helps,
Joe Jerry

Launch application via run menu rather than dos...possible?
hi,
we're trying to find a way to launch a application, such as MS Word, from our java app via the run menu in start menu, rather than through dos. currently our program reads the start menu and gets the lnk file paths, the problems is that it displays them as:
C:\WIN98_SE\start menu\programs\Microsoft Word.lnk
but dos needs them as:
C:\WIN98_SE\startm~1\programs\Micros~3.lnk
so to execute it from java we would need to write it as:
Runtime.getRuntime().exec("start C:\\WIN98_SE\\startm~1\\programs\\MICROS~3.lnk");
since we're doing this dynamically we can't be sure if the user will have office professional, home, or any other version, so this means that for some micros~3 might be micros~1, not sure which number will be attached at the end. but if we are able to launch it from the run command in the start menu then typing:
C:\WIN98_SE\start menu\programs\Microsoft Word.lnk
will work.
Thanks.You should try this:
Runtime.getRuntime().exec("command /C \"C:\\WIN98_SE\\start menu\\programs\\Microsoft Word.lnk\" "); with Win98
orRuntime.getRuntime().exec("cmd /C \"C:\\WINNT\\Documents and Settings\\user-name\\Start Menu\\Programs\\Microsoft Word.lnk\" "); with Win2000 prof.
/C - Carries out the command specified by string and then terminates
I tested only the second one because I don't have access to a win98 system.
Let me know if this solves your problem.

Forcing traffic through load balancer rather than zone to zone
I have several T5140s with 2 LDOMs. Within each LDOM I have multiple zones which contain 2 environments. Each environment comprises the following, an apache instance behind a BigIP load balancer, a JBoss instance, and several misc. The jboss zone has three IP address assigned for multiple applications. Each server is configured identically as far as zone and LDOM layout. We use mod_cluster to cluster our apache and Jboss environment. What I'm trying to accomplish is forcing the apache zone's traffic through the BigIP rather than zone to zone.
Referring to the information below, server2ldom1jboss is one jboss node which needs to connect to both server2ldom1japache and server1ldom1apache. server2ldom1jboss connects to server2ldom1apache via its DNS name which is a NAT address. So webserver2 resolves to 10.10.2.5 which NATs to 10.10.1.5 behind the BigIP. webserver2 responds directly to the jboss zone rather than through the BigIP. Not good. server1ldom1apache works correctly as it's not a local zone.
Referring to this document, https://blogs.oracle.com/solarium/resource/solaris-container-guide-en-v3.1.pdf
section 5.2.7.8
"Connection of zones via external routers using the shared IP instance"
I've created the following routes
route add 10.10.2.5 10.10.1.5
route add 10.10.0.34 10.10.1.5 -interface -reject
route add 10.10.0.35 10.10.1.5 -interface -reject
route add 10.10.0.87 10.10.1.5 -interface -reject
route add 10.10.1.5 10.10.0.87 -interface -reject
route add 10.10.1.5 10.10.0.34 -interface -reject
route add 10.10.1.5 10.10.0.35 -interface -reject
This does prevent the zone to zone traffic, but it also preventing any response. I've tried other options as well, but have not been successful yet. What concerns me is this "These interfaces must not be used elsewhere in the global zone." The 5140 has 4 ethernet ports, which are configured into two port channels. vnet0 and vnet1. The apache instances use vnet1. The remaining zones use vnet0, including the global zone (server2ldom1 10.10.0.21). I think this may be the issue, but do not see an easy resolution without breaking my port channels and losing redundancy and fail-over.
If there is anything I'm missing or a better/different way to do this, I would greatly appreciate any input on this matter.
Thank you.

Edited by: coreyva on Feb 18, 2012 11:36 AMAfter further research, I think the best course of action will be to create a VLAN for the zone behind the BigIP and then create the corresponding interface in the vlan and zone. Using this links as my references in case anyone is interested. I'll post what I come up with.

How can I use the database default time rather than Java supplied time
I've searched over and over and nobody seems to have this issue so maybe its just me!
When inserting a record I would like the a create_date column to automatically use the database time rather than a supplied time via JPA. That was all times a relative to the database which makes sense.
The trouble is I cant figure out how to do this in a sensible manor.
If I specify an column like :
@Temporal(TemporalType.TIMESTAMP)
@Column(name = "CREATE_DATE")
private Date createDate;
and IDL
CREATE_DATE TIMESTAMP WITH TIME ZONE DEFAULT CURRENT_DATE NOT NULL
If I leave createDate null I get an exception. If modify the column to allow Nullable then column is set as Null.
If I leave the column out of the entity bean and then and create a row then the database current time is inserted. The trouble then is that if I want to read the date I'm going to have to create a copy of the bean but with the CREATE_DATE in it, and this doesn't make sense.I should also mention that TopLink has always supported the ability to retrieve the current time from the database for use in optimistic locking. The TimestampLockingPolicy offers the ability to configure the next value being retrieved from the database instead of using the local time from the JVM. Our extended optimistic locking configuration does not currently support setting this option but it could be done using a descriptor customizer which can be configured in your persistence unit properties.
Using optimistic locking may be a good solution for the last modified date since it will also ensure that you do not corrupt the database if someone else has incremented this value since your last read.
