Possible to display domain value range descriptions rather than values?

Hi All,
We're using ECC6.
I have a context input field on my view, which is bound to a data type that is bound to a domain. The values are brought back from the domain automatically but when the user selects a row, the fixed value is displayed rather than the description, i.e. the code for the value is displayed rather than the short description.
This is not acceptable. Before I go off and code something for this instead is there a parameter I can set to tell it to display the description rather than the code.

You can read the domain name i guess, then you can use the Function Module DD_DOMVALUES_GET, make the call as
CALL FUNCTION 'DD_DOMVALUES_GET'
       EXPORTING
            domname        = i_dom_name
            text           = 'X'
            langu          = sy-langu
       IMPORTING
            rc             = lv_rc
       TABLES
            dd07v_tab      = t_dd07v
       EXCEPTIONS
            wrong_textflag = 1
            OTHERS         = 2.
you should get the short description in the field ddtext of result t_dd07v.
Now instead of creating a domain you can provide these values to the valid values for your context dynamically.

How To Display Image Dimension in Pixels Rather Than Inches

I am using Photoshop CS3, which I'm still learning to use. I want to see an open image's dimension (W X H) in pixels in the image's window/workspace.
Right now, when I open a file it displays the file's Document Sizes in the lower part of the workspace (sorry, don't know the proper terminology). Selecting the arrow next to this currently displayed information, I can then select Show>Document Dimensions. However, it always gives the image's width and height dimensions in inches. But, I want is to see these dimensions in pixels.
How do I get the document's dimensions to be displayed in pixels rather than inches? Thanks in advance.

Oops! Sorry about putting this in the wrong forum. I'm using PS to edit images that I'm using within DW. Hence, my (temporary) confusion.

Possible to have spry Tabbed Items vertical rather than horizontal?

Hi,
I'm basically trying to set up a website that uses spry tabbed instead of links because I would like to have a continuous, rolling flash image browser running in a separate div. Links would obviously refresh the plug-in, and it's not what I'd like.
I did something similar before using spry, and had it navigated on the top, but for this design I'd like to have the links going down vertically, with content to the right of them.
Is this possible using tabbed items?
Also, is it wise that I use spry and a flash/shockwave plug-in, as this is a business website and would need to be opened at all computers?

Possible to meet with Customer Service Rep, rather than call?

We have been overcharged on our bill (ATT Uverse) on so many occasions, and there are so many inaccuracies on the bills submitted, that we need to sit face-to-face with an intelligent customer service representative and go through all the bills for the last 5 months, in order to reach a comprehensive solution. Calling customer service has not been helpful. They seem to be looking at different charges and different bills than the ones in front of us, not to mention the incompetency of some of the reps with whom we have been dealing. I am considering filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau...however, I want to give it one last try, before filing as many complaints as possible. Is there a way to meet (not call) with a customer service representative, who can go through the hard copy bills with us? Would going to their corporate office help?

Displaying workitem/task execution online rather than in SAP inbox

I am using the workflow WS01000045 when implementing the ESS scenario - Employment and Salary Verification.
The user has the option of printing or faxing these details.
When the user clicks PRINT the step 81(Print Employment and Salary Verification,Task TS01000076) creates a workitem in the user's SAP inbox.The user can print the details by executing the workitem from the SAP inbox.My requirement is to actually execute the workitem online and show the print preview screen to the user instead of going to SAPinbox(logical because all the employees in a company can't have dialog access to SAP system).

ESS is implemented on EP6.0
Pls advice how to avoid the SAP inbox.

How do I get items from itunes U to display in order by date rather than in alphabetical order?

The podcasts I listen are automatically organized chronologically. I downloaded something from itunes U and it is organized by date in itunes but alphabetically on my ipod so I have no idea which one actually comes first. I'd appreciate some help in knowing how to put them in order by date. Thanks.

You can set the pref browser.enable_automatic_image_resizing to false on the about:config page.

The slideshow will play inside the iPhoto viewer pane and not in full screen mode, if you use the "Preview" button and not the "Play" button.

Display description of report rather than the technical name

Hi all
I have made a few reports using the Bex report designer that have been emailed to end users by the bex broadcast facility as a PDF
However, when end users receive the email the attached PDF received has the technical name rather than the description.
Does anyone know how to change this so that end users receive the PDF with the description rather than the technical name.

Yes the DOS 8.3 shortname format is the only accepted for the ThinkVantage button registry key.
One general way to obtain DOS 8.3 formats from a path except from DIR /x in a CMD window is to use execute a VBSCRIPT file that uses the FileSystemObject class
If you save the following sample vbscript code to a text file with .vbs extension and open it in file explorer it will write the short path of LSC.exe to a file text file named "Path_DOS83.txt":

Trouble with Parameter Option - Show Value or Description

First off we are on BI 4.1 SP01 Patch 6. I have a Crystal Reports 2013 report with a lot of optional parameters some of which are based on dynamic lists of values which I created using Business View Manager.
My hope would be that whatever values I select would be shown in the Prompt Panel on the left side of the screen.
Rather than displaying the value of "Limited Liability Company" for the Organization Type I get the code of "06".
That is the correct code and it works from a functional perspective, but I want to see the description. To get to this point in my Crystal Report I created a parameter based on a Dynamic List of Values created in Business View Manager called OrganizationType with the following settings...
That in turn creates something in Business View Manager called "OrganizationType - Prompt Group". If I edit my Organization Type paramter in Crystal Reports I see that it is now based on that OrganizationType - Prompt Group and not Organization Type LOV I had just selected. When I look at the OrganizationType - Prompt Group in Business View Manager the Show on (Viewer) Panel and Show Value or Description options are not what I set them to be in Crystal Reports.
My expectation when choosing the "Show Description" setting for the Show Value or Description option would cause the Description to be shown in the prompt panel. Is that correct? If so, then why isn't this setting sticking. If not, how do I do that?
I realize that I could create my LOVs based on just the Description rather than the ID and Description and filter on the Description rather than the ID, but I shouldn't have to. This should work shouldn't it? What I am doing wrong?

I now understand that the "Show Value or Description" option will have no impact on my situation.
As you can see in my screenshots I have the "Prompt With Description Only" option set to "True". Within Crystal Report I am seeing the Description as expected in the Parameters panel...
However, when I run the report from the BI Launchpad I see the code ("06") rather than the description ("Limited Liability Company")...
Is this a bug?

Blank appended to the given value range

hi all,
i have created a domain and has given value range,
but while pressing f4, in the drop down list, iam getting a blank appended to it.
iam creating value range and getting descriptions of fix values as drop down.
i tried going back to the domain and tried deleting blanks and all, but still iam getting,
how many domains i create iam getting the same.
but strangely, if create a value range , with last fix value blank but description appended, then iam not getting blank and getting description in the drop down.
y is this happening?
can any one suggest me.

Thats SAP's Standard functionality to show a blank line so that its not mandatory to select any value form the dropdown. if you explicitly append a blank line only with the description as you have done it right now, you will get the description as a default in the dropdown.
And, as far as your problem of "dropdown showing description only", you can change that by goin into the 'CUSTOMIZING OF LOCAL LAYOUT' which is the last icon on the standard toolbar or just press ALT+F12. In that go into options, then into Expert tab and then check the first check box. In this way u will get the values as well as the description in your dropdown.

Specify domains to proxy rather than to bypass

In the Network Preference Pane for setting up a proxy there's a field to add domains to bypass. Rather than setting the domains to bypass I'm wanting to be able to set the domains to include. Is there a way to setup my machine so that I only route traffic for specific domains thru the proxy server?
