Specify the FTProot for an individual user?

Is there a way to specify the FTProot for a specific user?
Example: I want to create a local user to the server, username "web", that when I FTP to the server using "web", all I can see is the /Library/WebServer/Documents folder?

I am no expert from a code perspective but have seen some very odd behavior on portlets that are related to the browser version/components that the user has. I always test things out in Firefox if they are failing on IE. Also, check to see if the user has any non-native toolbars (have them send you a screen shot). Turn off all of these (Yahoo, Google, etc...) and see if things work.

You could use the DecimalFormat or NumberFormat to do the job.

i exported the application from apex.oracle.com and imported it to our environment
import went fine, but when I ran the IR page I got
ORA-20001: get_dbms_sql_cursor error ORA-00904: : invalid identifier
evidently the problem is a lack of public execute on DBMS_LOB, which is used in the generated IR source.
while waiting for the DBA to grant privs on DBMS_LOB, changing the dbms_lob.getlength call to length() fixes the IR.

Looks like there is a 127-column limit on the number of report columns supported when using that wizard. Do you have more than that?

Not exactly a spatial question but the answer is "no" as far as I am aware.
TOAD for Oracle has a nice feature called "Rebuild Table" that provides a GUI interface for redefining and moving columns around. Basically it generates all the required DDL for you - it saves all the constraints, indexes, triggers, etc. Then it creates a new table with your changes, renames the old table with a suffix and replaces all the constraints, indexes, triggers on the new table. Most helpful.
However - see this makes the post spatial in nature :) - for as long as I have been around this feature of TOAD has not been able to handle SDO_GEOMETRY columns - failing with "ORA-22917: use VARRAY to define the storage clause". The good news is the new TOAD 10 now is free of this bug.
This is not meant to be a commercial for TOAD, I just don't know of any other product with this feature. Others may know of similar things perhaps or you can write a function yourself in PL/SQL.

However in T code OKGB i have linked COP to cost elements for Expense accounts and ZMA for Balance sheet accounts.Also i OKGA i have give different secondary cost elements for WIP and Reserves. and for ZMA same secondary cost elements for WIP as well as reserves
In OKGB i have given the balance sheet account and the expence GL
Is there anything that i have missed

1> If KJ161 is issued for a cost element which is intentionally not assigned to a line-ID, please follow the instructions of note 302823 to solve this issue.
The note 302823 gives details on how to add the cost element line id and also the use of enhancement 7 to control the message.
If you're in this case, pls follow the steps in note 302823 for each "Option", there are not only changes in OKGB, but also some changes needed in OKGA (e.g. assign category 'N')
2> If this cost element should be assigned, please double check the entries made in TA OKG5. Please do especially check if all hints of note 18472 are considered. Very often,filling the fields 'Masked cost center' and 'Masked activity type' with '+' solves this issue as well.
In the Extended log (KKA1 > Extras > Logs > Parameter List), check if you can see that cost element is not assigned, but in
configuration transaction OKGB, masked cost element is assigned.

My db is oracle , the oracle host name is dbserver.
The sap ap server only install the SAP. SAP host name is apserver.
Just now i've altered all the password of the oracle database db user account, Include the account "sys".
(I must alter the password.)
Now the SAP service in the host "apserver" can't boot.
Could you teach me how can i config the "apserver" to make the SAP normal boot ?

You can setup 3 different flavours of passwords:

a. Username Policy 1 - Email address as username
Use the guest's email address as the username. If an overlapping account with the same email address exists, a random number is added to the end of the email address to make the username unique. Overlapping accounts are accounts that have the same email address and are valid for an overlapping period of time.
b. Username Policy 2 - Create username based on first and last names
Create a username based on combining the first name and last name of the guest. You can set a Minimum username length for this username from 1 to 20 characters (default is 10). User names shorter than the minimum length are padded up to the minimum specified length with a random number.
c. Username Policy 3 - Create random username
Create a username based upon a random mixture of Alphabetic, Numeric or Other characters. Type the characters to include to generate the random characters and the number to use from each set of characters.
Note: The total length of the username is determined by the total number of characters included.

How do i specify the filename for a binary file generated by a JSP?

I am writing a report generator that has the ability to generate Excel files. The user clicks on a link (exporter.jsp), the page's content-type has been set to "application/vnd.ms-excel" which naturally prompts the user to either save to a file or open directly in Excel.
It works fine, but requires the user to manually rename the generated file from "exporter.jsp" to "whatever.xls". Furthermore, Firefox will not let you rename the file in save dialog box, it just automatically saves the file as "exporter.jsp", you must rename it from the file browser.
How do specify the output file name from within JSP?
Btw, right clicking and selecting "save link as" allows for specifying the file name, but the file that is created is empty.

You need to set the content-disposition header as well as the content-type.

Specifying the filename for outbound FTP transport in OSB

I want an OSB based service that will send via FTP a file with a specific name to a remote ftp location.
It appears OSB can't do this because the FTP transport on a business service only allows you to specify the prefix and suffix and then generates a big long file name for the midlle parts.
Does someone know how to override this and specify the name that you want teh remote file name to be called?

So you would like to set the filename that is contained the JMS message custom headers?. While creating your JMS Proxy you have to follow these steps
1) While creating JMS Proxy in Transport Configuration page select Get All Headers =Yes
2) If file name is set as user defined property in JMS message then use $Header in you pipeline/message flow. This variable will hold your user defined properties. If the user defined property is part of JMS message then use $body.

Can you specify the port for default services when installing OEG?

The default installation of OEG 11g uses 8090 port for management services, and 8080 for the virtualized services that you register in the gateway. After installation, you can change the ports by editing gateway's Profile Repository in Policy Studio. But is there a way to specify the port number before/during the installation?

Hi -
here are the steps to change the listening port (in 11.1.1.6)
- Connect to OEG using Policy Studio
- Click on "Edit Active Configuration"
- Under "Services", find the default services, and you'll see a listener for port 8080 there. Right-click to edit this.
- Change the port from 8080 to your desired port. Note that if you've installed the software and running it as a non-root user on Linux, then it will not have permission to bind to a low-number port (like port 80 for instance)
- Now deploy your change (for 11.1.1.6 hit F6 or click on the "deploy" button which is towards the right of the toolbar in Policy Studio).
- You may also choose to version your configuration at this point (click on "version" which is beside the "deploy" button and enter a comment about your version).
Now verify that OEG is listening on your new port. You can see it bind to the new port by looking at the trace [Connect a browser to port 8090 on OEG, login as admin or another user who has rights to view the trace, then click on "Trace"].
It's a usual practice to configure a new listener on SSL (e.g. on port 443) then to delete that pre-configured port 8080 listener, if you want to only receive traffic over SSL.

Http headers showing up on portal homepage for an individual user

We have a user that currently sees what looks to be http header information at the top of his browser when he visits our portal homepage. he is experiencing this in both IE and Firefox.
Is there any sort of setting in portal or application server (i'm posting this in both forums and will post the resolution in both as well) that would cause this behavior for an individual IP address?

i don't know what the cause of this error was but it was fixed by clearing out the pl/sql cache. that is done by removing everything under $ORACLE_HOME/Apache/modplsql/cache on the middle tier.

Assuming one wants to stay with database-stored passwords (the traditional method), one may want to look at the password aging and complexity enforcing mechanisms.
Oracle has a complete manual around this. For 10gR2, the Oacle Database Security Guide chapter 4 is interesting reading - section 4.3 is the discussion for database authentication. And section 7.4.4 talks about the complexity enforcement.
