Specifying border for h:datatable

I am trying to specify border for h:datatable using something like this.
.selDataTable {
     width:100%;
     border:5px;
}          The problem is that the border appears only on the outside of the table and not for each cells. On the other hand if I directly specify border="5" on the datatable tag, I get borders all arround the table and cells. This is what I want. Why doesn't the class specified by styleClass="selDataTable" provide borders arround each cell.
regards,
nirvan.

So that you can set the border of the table, head, body, foot, rows and cells individually.

  • How can I make a default border for a JWindow?

    I have a JWindow object that is created when a button is pressed in a JFrame. I want the JWindow to have the same type of border as the JFrame from which it's created. However, the JWindow is not created automatically with a border as the JFrame is, so I don't know how to set the border abstractly so that whatever border is used for the JFrame, per he default L&F, will also be used for the JWindow.
    I tried grabbing the border object from the JFame instance itself, but there is no such field in JFrame or any of its ancestor classes. I looked at UIDefaults, but I have no idea how this class can be used to get what I want. For example, if I use UIDefaults.getBorder(Object obj), what do I specify for the argument?
    I'd be happy with an abstract or a concrete solution. That is, either using the default Border for top level containers in the current L&F, or by grabbing an actual Border instance from a JFrame object.

    Also, I'm curious why you said that JFrame is not a swing component.A Swing component extends JComponent. Basically this means that all the painting of the component is done in Java. You can add Borders to any Swing component. It is called a light weight component. A light weight component cannot exist by itself on the window desktop.
    JFrame, JDialog and JWindow are top level components. They can exist on their own on the windows desktop because essentially they are Windows native components. They have been fancied up to make it easy for you to access and add other Swing components to it which is why they are found in the swing package.
    A Windows border is not the same thing as a Swing Border and there is no way to access the native windows border and use it in a Swing application (that I know of anyway). Swing Borders are not used in a normal JFrame, the Windows border is used. You can however, turn off the use of Windows decorations and use Swing painted decorations. Read the tutorial on [url http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/components/frame.html#setDefaultLookAndFeelDecorated]Specifying Windows Decorations. However, this doesn't really help you with your Border problem. If you look at the source code for the FrameBorder, you will find that the "blue" color of the Border is only painted for "active" windows and a JWindow can never be the active window, only the parent JFrame or JDialog is considered active.
    Here is a simple program for you to play around with:
    import java.awt.*;
    import javax.swing.*;
    import javax.swing.border.*;
    public class FrameDecorated
         public static void main(String[] args)
              JFrame.setDefaultLookAndFeelDecorated(true);
              JFrame frame = new JFrame();
              frame.setDefaultCloseOperation( JFrame.DISPOSE_ON_CLOSE );
              frame.setSize(300, 300);
              frame.setVisible(true);
              Border border = frame.getRootPane().getBorder();
    //          Border border = UIManager.getBorder( "RootPane.frameBorder" );
              System.out.println( border );
              JWindow window = new JWindow(frame);
              JPanel contentPane = (JPanel)window.getContentPane();
              contentPane.add(new JTextField(), BorderLayout.NORTH);
              contentPane.setBorder( border );
              window.setSize(300, 300);
              window.setLocationRelativeTo( null );
              window.setVisible( true );
              System.out.println("Window:" + window);
              Window ancestor = SwingUtilities.getWindowAncestor(contentPane);
              System.out.println("Ancestor:" + ancestor);
              System.out.println(ancestor.isActive());
              System.out.println(frame.isActive());
    }

  • How to specify COMPRESS FOR OLTP on a table in physical model?

    Hi,
    we have licensed Oracle's Advanced Compression and want to use the OLTP compression on some tables. I am looking for a way to specify COMPRESS FOR OLTP on a table in the physical model. So far, I can only set "Data Compression" to YES or NO.
    Are you going to add the "new" compression modes in the next release?
    Thanks,
    Frank

    Hi Frank,
    Are you going to add the "new" compression modes in the next release?There is support for compression type (including OLTP) in DM 3.3 EA and you can download it from OTN.

  • Server 2008 R2 with WSUS need to specify location for Feature install for Server 2012 and Windows 8

    Having a problem where we need to add .net 3.5, amongst other things, in server 2012 and windows 8.1.  We're using WSUS on server 2008 R2, so when I go to add roles or features, I'm not able to as it tries to use Windows Update but it's set to use WSUS.
    I'm aware in server 2012 gpo's that you enable the policy 'specify settings for optional component installation and component repair' in Administrative Templates>System, however that setting is not available in Server 2008 R2.
    I've downloaded the templates from http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=36991 but the setting is still not there.
    Any suggestions on how to do this/allow feature install with Server 2008 R2?

    Hi,
    To upgrade the Administrative Templates, please run the downloaded msi file, then copy the needed admx files and adml files to the PolicyDefinitions folder.

  • Error in LSMW while specifying file for Material Cassification and Info Rec

    Hi Friends,
    I'm getting an error in LSMW while specifying file for Material Cassification and Info Record using batch input method.
    The error message i'm getting is:
    "Length of physical file name 'R2R_33_PURCH_INFR_1_PIR_CREATE.lsmw.conv' cannot be longer than 30 characters
    Message no. /SAPDMC/LSMW_OBJ_060049"
    I tried changing the file name but that is not working out. Please help.
    Thanks,
    Amit

    Hi,
    Just try this,
    Go to LSMW, Specify file option, use display/change (Ctrl+F1)
    Select the converted data and double click, change the file name there,
    You will be getting it as "'R2R_33_PURCH_INFR_1_PIR_CREATE"
    Just trim this to "'R2R_33_PUR_INF_1_PIR_CRE"  and try...

  • How to create a border for a paragraph ?

    Can anyone tell me how to create a border for a paragraph ? Is this even possible without creating a table ?
    I would like to have the page header with a single line below it and the page footer with a single line above it. Inserting a line seems to force unnecessary space above of below the line and using a table seems to force a blank line below the table also creating unnecessary space.
    Thanks

    Thanks, I had the problem with this approach that the line never appeared on each page but adding to the section master would fix it.
    Still being able to set a border would be good! I did try using the text box but the border options are pretty inflexible. I was unable to just set the top or bottom borders. Did I miss something basic here or is this option just not available ?
    Any idea if this is coming in a future release ?

  • Eliminate printing Border for Text Field???

    Is it possible to display border on the PDF and not print on the output for Text Field??? What settings and/or scripting I need to get this working? A sample form is really appreciated.

    If you use the standard border (for example), you can use the JavaScript prePrint and postPrint for each field to make the border visible, and hidden. Here's how.
    1.) Highlight Text Field in Designer.
    2.) In the Script Editor, select the prePrint Event from the dropdown list on the top left. (This works in FormCalc or Javascript, although I tend to use JavaScript as the language in the right hand drop down)
    3.) Type in (or paste) the following code:
    this.border.presence = "hidden";
    4.) Select the postPrint Event.
    5.) Type in (or paste) the following code:
    this.border.presence = "visible";
    Now when you click print, it will make the outside border hidden, and when you cancel, the border will reappear. Now this will not make the 'Solid Box', or 'Sunken Box' of the text field hidden. The easy way to fix this, is set the 'Appearance' in the Object->Field palette to 'None'.
    Cheers!

  • How to specify stylesheet for attachments in Human task

    Dear Experts,
    I can able to add an attachment from BPEL process to Human Task. So from Worklist I can able to download the attachment. Here, I am attaching an XML payload, and I am receiving .xml file from worklist. Now I want to do xsl mapping with my attachment. To do that we have an option when creating Human Task from BPEL . In .task form, under advanced settings--> specify style sheets for attachments, specify wordML for attchments. I have used those options. But not yet my .xsl file mapped with .xml. Is there is any other way to do xsl mapping. Please suggest me.
    Thanks,
    Rajesh

    Hi Anirudh,
    I am using SOA Server suite 10.1.3.1 and JDeveloper 10g. Also I am not using "Application Server Developer's Guide for Microsoft Office Interoperability" this document, what you have mentioned in your last post. My problem is I am having xsl with me, need to map this xsl to my xml attachment. To do that we are having an option on .task form editor, Under Advanced Settings. We can mention/specify stylesheet for attachment, or we can specify wordML for attachment. I have tried both but I cant able to do xsl transformation. I have seen some code in this link. But I dont know whether this blog is correct one. Please suggest me.
    Thanks,

  • How to specify alias for local filesystem in JBOSS

    hi,
    I want to specify alias for localfilesystem in JBOSS. I know how to do it in Apache_2.0.52-Openssl_0.9.7e-Win32. In this we can specify alias as,
    Alias /icons/ "C:/Program Files/Apache_2.0.52-Openssl_0.9.7e-Win32/icons/" in httpd.conf and futher we can specify the directory access also. So I want to do the same thing in JBOSS. How to do it.
    Thanks.

    JBoss is an app-server, not an HTTP server. The concept of directories is meaningless, as everything is based on contexts. Any of the HTTP server options will be handled by the Tomcat (Catalina) engine that is part of the JBoss installation. You can configure the Tomcat server by editing the jboss-service.xml file in JBOSS_HOME/deploy/tomcat-5.5.sar (or something like that). If you really need to start mapping/rewriting URLs onto your J2EE application, I'd suggest using Apache as the front-end, and connect the Web-tier to Apache via mod_jk. Then you can use all of Apache's URL rewriting and directory aliasing and specify access on a per-location basis. Some of Apache's functionality may be available to the Catalina engine, but there's no sense in trying to make Tomcat as "capable" as Apache, when a means to connect the two already exists.

    To load that file with BULK INSERT, use this format file:
    9.0
    4
    1 SQLCHAR 0 0 "\""      0 ""    ""
    2 SQLCHAR 0 0 "\",\""   1 col1  Latin1_General_CI_AS
    3 SQLCHAR 0 0 "\",\""   2 col2  Latin1_General_CI_AS
    4 SQLCHAR 0 0 "\"\r\n"  3 col3  Latin1_General_CI_AS
    Note that the format file defines four fields while the fileonly seems to have three. The format file defines an empty field before the first quote.
    Or, since you already have a .NET program, use a stored procedure with table-valued parameter instead. I have an example of how to do this here:

  • Cannot set border for JPanel

    I am not able to select any border for a JPanel, except <default>, in the property window of the visual designer. I can insert a statement by hand to get the border (e.g.: jPanel1.setBorder(new javax.swing.border.EtchedBorder());
    ), but I would like to do it with the visual designer. Is this a missing feature or do I do something wrong?
    Thank you
    Heinz

    You first have to make a Border object in your source code, then it will allow you to select the border.
    example:
    import javax.swing.border.*;
    public class MyFrame1
    // Create a border object in your class
    // Add this next line, and change it to
    // create the type of border you want.
    Border borderPanel1 = BorderFactory.createEtchedBorder();
    after this, you can use the inspector to set the border property (you should see borderPanel1 in the combobox of choices)
