Spline and Derivative Pt By Pt

Hi there,
I need to detect the small jumps that shows up at the end of the measured data, see the red line.
Looking at the top graph.
To do so I first fit a spline through the measured data resulting in the white line.
Finally I calculate the derivative of the spline resulting in the green line.
From that green line, one can easily find the peaks.
You may think problem solved
I would say yes in case one has the whole data at once.
I want to do the same while I receive the data point by point, the measured data I mean, the red line.
So I tried the same approach using the PtByPt vi's, but I get nowhere
See the lower graph.
Who can help me out??
Thanks !!

How about a simple low pass filter. Even a simple "ptbypt DC estimate" seems to work OK. Of course the data will be shifted according to the ptbypt window size, but you should be able to deal with that.

    I am in the process of expanding a database of chemistry journal articles.  These materials are ideally acquired in two formats when both are available-- PDF and HTML.  To oversimplify, PDFs are for the user to read, and derivatives of the HTML versions are for the computer to read.  Both formats are, of course, readily recognized and indexed by Spotlight.  Journal articles have two essential components with regards to a database:  the topical content of the article itself, and the cited references to other scientific literature.  While a PDF merely lists these references, the HTML version has, in addition, links to the cited items.  Each link URL contains the digital object identifier (doi) for the item it points to. A doi is a unique string that points to one and only one object, and can be quite useful if rendered in a manner that enables indexing by Spotlight.  Embedded URL's are, of course, ignored by Spotlight.  As a result, HTML-formatted articles must be processed so that URL's are openly displayed as readable text before Spotlight will recognize them.  Conversion to DOC format using MS Word, followed by conversion to RTF using Text Edit accomplishes this, but is quite labor intensive.
      In the last few months, I have added about 3,500 articles to this collection, which means that any procedure for rendering URL's must be automated and able to process large batches of documents with minimal user oversight.  This procedure needs to generate a separate file for each HTML document processed. Trials using Automator's "Get Specified Finder Items" and "Get Selected Finder Items", as well as "Ask For Finder Items"  (along with "Get URLs From Web Pages") give unsatisfactory results.  When provided with multiple input documents, these three commands generate output in which the URLs from multiple input items are merged into a single block, which yields a single file using "Create New Word Document" as the subsequent step.  A one-to-one, input file to output file result can be obtained by processing one file at a time, but this requires manual selection of each item and one-at-a-time processing. What I need is a command that accepts multiple input documents, but processes them one at a time, generating a separate output for each file processed.  Is there a way for Automator to do this?

    Hi,
    With the project all done, i'm preparing for the presentation. Managed to get my hands on a HD beamer for the night (Epason TW2000) and planning to do the presentation in HD.
    That of course managed to bring up some problems. I posted a thread which i'll repost here . Sorry for the repost, i normally do not intend to do this, but since this thread is actually about the same thing, i'd like to ask the same question to you. The end version is in AfterEffects, but that actually doesn't alter the question. It's about export:
    "I want to export my AE project of approx 30 min containing several HD files to a Blu Ray disc. The end goal is to project the video in HD quality using the Epson  EMP-TW2000 projector. This projector is HD compatible.
    To project the video I need to connect the beamer to a computer capable of playing a heavy HD file (1), OR burn the project to a BRD (2) and play it using a BRplayer.
    I prefer option 2, so my question is: which would be the preferred export preset?
    Project specs:
                        - 1920x1080 sq pix  (16:9)
                        - 25 fps
                        - my imported video files (Prem.Pro sequences) are also 25 fps and are Progressive (!)
    To export to a BRD compatible format, do i not encounter a big problem: my projectfiles are 25 fps and progressive, and I believe that the only Bluray preset dispaying 1920x1080 with 25 fps requests an INTERLACED video  (I viewed the presets found on this forum, this thread)... There is also a Progr. format, BUT then you need 30 fps (29,...).
    So, is there one dimension that can be changed without changing the content of the video, and if yes which one (either the interlacing or the fps).
    I'm not very familiar with the whole Blu-ray thing, I hope that someone can help me out."
    Please give it a look.
    Thanks,
    Jef

    Method which is used in the derivation step.
    You can choose from the following derivation types:
    Derivation rule :
    Derivation rules are "if-then" rules, in which you specify which combination's of characteristic values will yield which target characteristic values.
    Table look-up :
    Table look-ups let you determine characteristic values by having the system read them from any table. The source fields must correspond to the key of the table where you want the system to find the target value.

  • Master role and derived role concept

    Guys,
    1) How to assign the organizational levels for the derived role?
         Say for example, I have to create the derived roles with respect to the plant code.And after inheriting the tcodes ,authorizations from the master role , I noticed a pop up page with organizational level tabulation and I assigned the respective plant code there and in the same way for all the following derived roles.But the rest of the rows like company code,sales organization,distribution channel etc which are seen in the tabulation are left empty.I noticed that all the fields which are left empty in the org.levels of the derived roles  are been filled up with the vaules of the corresponding master role org.level values when the derived button icon , which is seen under the authorization tab of master role is pressed.So pls let me know the correct procedure to assign.*Do we really need to maintain org.values for master roles?*
    2) If a master role is transported to QA or PRD, will the derived role along with it move automatically?
    3) Is master and derived role tested parallely in the QA system or first master role is tested ,followed by the derived role?
    4) According to my understanding we dont assign any user to the master roles, but why do we move it to PRD?
    Greatly appreciate for some body's help.

    Only if you assign the master roles to users. (and maybe for testing, see 3)
    >
    > 2) If a master role is transported to QA or PRD, will the derived role along with it move automatically?
    Nope, but if one of it's derived roles is transported the master is automatically included in the transport. You'll have to make sure all derived roles are transported yourself.
    >
    >  3) Is master and derived role tested parallely in the QA system or first master role is tested ,followed by the derived role?
    Best order is to do all unit testing wit the master, with all org levels at * and create the derived roles only when the master is tested and corrected to satisfaction. In that way the derived roles only have to be tested for organizational shielding.

    See 2, it goes there automatically. No choice.

  • Manually added auth objects and Derived roles

    If there are manually added auth objects in the parent role do they come across to the derived roles?
    Also if you manually added auth objects into a derived role will they be overwritten by the parent role if you auto derive from the parent role?

    yes, any auth objects will come across to derived roles when you click 'generate derived roles'  from your parent role. basically its copying your parent role authorizations to derived roles  except org. level data( if you had maintained them thru 'org. maintainence' button and not adding in individual objects).
    yes. manually added auth objects in your derived roles will be overwritten by the parent role authorizations when you click 'generate derived roles'  from your parent role.
    if you just derived the role menu and din't copy the authorizations(generate derived roles) then there will not be any interlink between the parent and derived roles for authorizations.

  • Maintaining the authorizations for parent role and derived role

    Hi Experts,
    Kindly advice me the Pro and cons of the parent role and derived role.. below is the scenario
    Currently  we have created the 700 role in  our regionally organization and we want to dervie the roles for each country
    1 ) we want to do the Auth field (activity level) settings in parent role and Org levels  in the derived role  .
    2)  But one my collegue says do the default  Auth filed ( activity values) common to every country in the parent role and diff activity one in the derived role .
    please advice me wat will be the best scenario for mantaining the authorizations filed values like (activity level  one)

    I will try to answer both your queries here:
    "my collegue says they are some NON ORG values different from each country ..suggest us to maintain all the default values in Parent role and auth with diff values needs to be maintained in derived role (child role).. "
    The only set of values which should/can be different in a child role (when compared with its parent) will be the org level values. So if this filed is NON_ORG you will not be able to maintain it directly inside the child roles.....this is the basic principle of derived role conceptu2026 that the only item you will directly maintain in a child role are the org levels(which will come as u2018organisational levelsu2019 in the upper tab in the auth data of a role).
    All NON_ORG fields inside a child role is acquired from the parent role. You should never change the values of any such fields (non-org fields) in the child role. these changes will get lost the next time you run the parent child inheritance from u201Cgenerate derived roleu201D function in your parent role.
    Coming to the second question on how to run the program, you just need to enter the technical name of the field you want to convert (tech names like BUKRS, WERKS etc u2026 figure out the name of the concerned field you have in hand)u2026.executeu2026 you will that the field will now onwards appear as an org level value in all roles in the system and not just as a field inside the auth objectsu2026.I would suggest you take one field and try running it in ur dev or  sandbox..see how the field changes in your roles.... the change can always be reverted by using PFCG_ORGFIELD_delete. ... you will understand it better....

  • Based pi and Derived pi

    HI,
    What is the difference between BASED PI and DERIVED PI? Exactly where we used in bw?
    please explain with one example?
    Thanks in advance....
    Best Regards,
    Namitha.

    Namitha,
    I think Anil has given a very good explanation for the same...
    PI stands for Performance Indicator in other words a measure..
    BASE PI - it is a base measure - it can be something like amount etc which is used as it is...
    DERIVED PI - something that is derived from base measures...
    It can apply to all systems - be it R/3 or BW ... R/3 example - Sales amount would be a base PI and tax calculated on that would be a derived PI
    Similar things for BW as well..
    Arun
    Hope it helps....

  • FM structure and derivation strategy

    Hi,
    I make commitment item hierarchy in Funds Management.
    Our customer want to divide all the expenditure commitment items on direct and indirect expenditure.
    So we have, for example, the same item u201CHR expenditureu201D in two sections u201Cdirect expenditureu201D and u201Cindirect expenditureu201D.
    As usual one commitment item is matched with one G/L account. But here originally the G/L account u201CHR expenditureu201D for posting is the same for both items.
    Can anyone tell, if itu2019s possible to leave field u201CCommitment itemu201D blank in a G/L account?
    I want to make two different commitment items. And depending on other account assignments (cost center, for example),  derive one or another commitment items when posting?
    Best wishes
    Irina

    Hi Ira,
    First of all it's possible. Further, the logic of derivation of FM address is looking first on the master data, but then eventually goes to FMDERIVE framewrok, where you can create a rule to overwrite the previously defined values for FM objects.

  • Data Conversion and Derived Column issues

    I have a strange issue occurring with one of my SSIS packages.
    What needs to happen:
    I have to read data from a table that stores a field in NCHAR(40)
    Send it through a Data Cleansing SSIS Component that forcefully outputs the data at a cleansed state as DT_STR(50)
    Update the same source table with cleansed data - Using an UPSERT third party tool
    Of course, I can't update the tables that stores data in NCHAR(40) with data from DT_STR(50), so I'm trying to use the Data Conversion Component, the Derived Column Component or a combination of, to set the data to DT_WSTR as well as to set the correct length,
    from 50 to 40.
    The Data Conversion Component fails when I try to set the incoming data (DT_STR(50)) to DT_WSTR(40):
    [Data Conversion [186]] Error: Data conversion failed while converting column "MD_Address1" (97) to column "_MD_Address1" (190).  The conversion returned status value 2 and status text
    "The value could not be converted because of a potential loss of data.".
    Now I tried the same thing with the Derived Column Component, converting the data from the DQS component from (DT_STR(50)) to DT_WSTR(40) and there's the error message:
    [Derived Column [196]] Error: The "Derived Column" failed because truncation occurred, and the truncation row disposition on "Derived Column.Inputs[Derived Column Input].Columns[_MD_Address1]"
    specifies failure on truncation. A truncation error occurred on the specified object of the specified component.
    I also tried a combination of Data Conversion (From DT_STR(50) to DT_WSTR(50)) and a Derived Column just casting to the correct size, but that didn't work either.
    Every time I try to change the size, one of the components fail.
    It appears that my issue has nothing to do with the data types, but the actual data length.
    Why can't SSIS CAST my input from 50 to 40?
    What do I need to do to cast/convert data from DT_STR(50) to DT_WSTR(40)?

    Hi IgorSantos_FL,
    It is the expected behavior when we try to convert DT_STR(50) (means maximum 50 characters in the value) to DT_WSTR(40) (means maximum 40 characters in the value). However, the truncation issue should not occur if you convert DT_STR(50) to
    DT_WSTR(50). Could you post the error message that you received when converting DT_STR(50) to DT_WSTR(50)? It may be a different issue.

    just looking for idea to derive the alter scripts on these? Please share your ideas on this.

    You don't have to write lots of triggers. You only need to write one trigger e.g :-
    create table ddl_audit
    (audit_date date,
    username varchar2(30),
    instance_number integer,
    database_name varchar2(9),
    object_type varchar2(19),
    object_owner varchar2(30),
    object_name varchar2(128),
    sql_text varchar2(2000));
    create or replace trigger BEFORE_DDL_TRG before ddl on database
    declare
    l_sql_text ora_name_list_t;
    l_count NUMBER;
    l_puser VARCHAR2(30) := NULL;
    l_sql varchar2(2000);
    begin
    l_count := ora_sql_txt(l_sql_text);
    l_puser := SYS_CONTEXT('USERENV', 'KZVDVCU');
    l_count := ora_sql_txt(l_sql_text);
    for i in 1..l_count
    loop
    l_sql := l_sql||l_sql_text(i);
    end loop;
    insert into ddl_audit (audit_date, username, instance_number, database_name, object_type, object_owner, object_name, sql_text)
    values (sysdate, l_puser,ora_instance_num,ora_database_name,ora_dict_obj_type,ora_dict_obj_owner,ora_dict_obj_name,l_sql);

  • Missing Master and Derived Roles

    Hello All,
                  I have got an odd scenario and I am hoping some of you might have run into the same issue or might point me to the right direction.
    Back ground
    We are on ECC 5.0 and have Master Derived Concept, and then Derived Roles are grouped in Composites
    We recently( Last week ) created some ( say 34 ) Derived roles and some (10) composites using a combinition of the newly created derived and some Old derived roles.
    Transported The derived seperatly and Composites seperately. Transports went successfully into QA and PRD.
    This week we noticed that all of the 34 derived roles are missing in DEV ONLY along with 28 Master of the 34 Child Roles. All the Childs and master still exist in QA and PRD.
    We have tried to look up the change Doc of the missing roles or the profiles or the authorizations of the missing roles and there is no change log under suim. Change Log shows when the role was created but nothing after that. According to Basis transports does not have any unusual log
    Since its a DEV system so no delete transports have come into DEV, therefore delete transport could not be an option.
    I have also uploaded one of the missing master roles from the PRD to DEV and it is succfully established the relation with the childs. I was hoping it might shake up the Change History regarding missing role but it did not, It now shows when the role was created earlier( 2006 ) and This week  agian but no Delete History
    Any Ideas on how to explain this behavior

    Another possible and imaginable human error worth looking into is that at some stage in the past a transport request was created for the master and child roles -- okay.
    Then the child roles were "broken" by changing org. levels and other fields in the authorization maintenance, so the roles themselves were deleted with the intention of creating them again from one of the "template" child-roles --> okay, seems reasonable to have happened.
    Then (here is the problem!) someone released the transport before the new child roles were created. This is interpreted by the system to be a deletion transport of roles.
    Additionally the sequence of the transports might have added additional obscurity to the issue and now, much later on, someone imported the transport into production which deleted the roles.
    <conspiracy_theory>
    The person then deleted the transport request from the queues and archived the change documents in SU83.
    </conspiracy_theory>
    Cheers,
    Julius

  • DIfference b/w expression builder logical column and derived logical column

    Hi Experts,
    Can anyone tellme the difference between expression builder (when we double click the logical column) of derived logical column and expression builder of logical column( we see this in column mapping of LTS) ??
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    Formula given in the "expression builder of logical column( we see this in column mapping of LTS)" is performed on the physical layer of the RPD. I guess it is calculated in the Physical Query which is good for performance.
    Formula in the expression builder of derived column is calculated in the BMM layer i.e in the logical query.

    package com.Test01;
    import javacard.framework.*;
    import javacard.security.*;
    import javacardx.crypto.Cipher;
    public class Test01 extends Applet {
    OwnerPIN Pin;
    static DESKey[] keys;
    protected Test01(byte[] buffer, short offset, byte length) {
    keys = new DESKey[4];
    length = 0;
    while (length < 4) {
    keys[length] = (DESKey)KeyBuilder.buildKey((byte)3, (short)0x80, false);
    length = (byte)(length + 1);
    public static void install(byte buffer[], short offset, byte length) {
    new Test01(buffer, offset, length);
    ===========================================================
    If there are two instances, A and B, created in the package.
    My issues:
    1. Are keys[0]~ keys [3] kept while B is deleted?
    2. Does each instance have itsown object while "keys[length] = (DESKey)KeyBuilder.buildKey((byte)3, (short)0x80, false);"? or they share the same object?
    3. follow item 2, if A and B share the same object, is the object kept while B is deleted? Where can I get the information in Sun's spec?
    Thank you very much.
    Best regards,

    Thanks a lot. You mean that keys variable will be removed while instance B deleted, right? I think the idea of database applet is very good, but I can't force applet provider the way of their implementations : )
    I still got question, does it get no use to set the keys variable to be "static"? So that I can keep it to other instances, if applied.
    And I think that any object derived under the static variable shall be kept, until the package is deleted.
    For example, if you declare a static pointer, and it points to an object newed by the instance at the first time. We say every instances (A and B) of this package (PckM) share this same static pointer and this same object, right? There are two situations:
    1. if this referred object is removed when B is deleted, so the memory of this object will be released. Then user might create an instace C of another package (PckN), and instance C new its objects just overlapping on the released memory. In this case, it will cause instance A to be crashed, because its static pointer has been referred to illeagle address.
    2. if this referred object is kept when B is deleted, then instance C will new its objects in other free memory. In this case, instance A will work well, because its static pointer still refers to correct object.
    What do you think? Am I missing any concepts?
    Thank you for your great opinions.
