Split String value into internal table at Carriage return

Hi All,
I have given a string type context ( text edit box ) to the user to enter the values. The data can have carriage returns also.
My Requirement is that I want to split the data at carriage returns and store it in my tables.
I tired with a constant value of '%CR_LF' as available in CL_ABAP_CHAR_UTILITIES but to no good result.
Can the Experts suggest some solution?/??

Have you looked at your string containing the text in the debugger to verify that you really have <CR>+<LF> (i.e. reflecting CL_ABAP_CHAR_UTILITIES=>CR_LF, which should be easily visible when looking at the hex codes of the string)? Maybe it's just a <LF> (i.e. CL_ABAP_CHAR_UTILITIES=>NEWLINE). Might be good to do a REPLACE first using a regular expression for identifying the line feeds and then doing the SPLIT.

SPLIT text AT space INTO: str1 str2 str3,
                          TABLE itab.

Capturing check box value into internal table

Hi all,
I am displaying the output including check box through following internal table.
The checkbox is displayed before every record.
LOOP AT it_qals.
 WRITE:/ it_qals-t_val AS CHECKBOX,
 5 it_qals-werk,
 12 it_qals-prueflos,
 30 it_qals-matnr,
 50 it_qals-charg,
 62 it_qals-lagortchrg.
 hide: it_qals .
ENDLOOP.
I selected some of the records through check the checkboxes. when i click the PUSHBUTTON TRANSFER, those selected records only should transfer. i don't know how to modify the internal table with latest checkbox values. Initially checkbox values are blank.
Is there any solution except Function Module.
i would appreciate an earlier reply.

Is there any function to split string value into diff junks

you can say ||| is a field delimiter.
i want to split each field identified by ||| delimiter and store in a collection table.
is there any easy way to that?

actually i want to use DIY$ dynamic view and what i did.
1) I created a object type as xyz_row_type with 4 attributes.
2) then i created a collection type xyz_tab_type of xyz_row_type
3) now i want to create a function which will return me xyz_tab_type
i am using a utl_file.get_line(file_name,f_line_txt)
each line has the four elements delimited by '|||' shown below
14522|||Lessig|||Minna|||Lessig, Minna
i want to split each element for each attribute of xyz_row_type.

Regarding passing selection screen values into internal table

Hi,
I have created one selection screen with fields
POSNR LIKE VBAP-POSNR
SELECT-OPTIONS: s_posnr FOR vbap-posnr.
I had created one internal table as:
DATA: BEGIN OF i_item OCCURS 0,
 posnr LIKE vbap-posnr,
 END OF i_item.
Now what i want is to pass what ever entries available in s_posnr into i_item internal table.
If user gives 10 in select-screen i_item should have 10,
If user gives 10 to 30 in select-screen i_item should have 10,20,30 entries.
If user gives nothing in s_posnr of selection screen
then i_item should have all the valid item no's[POSNR's]
from respective sales order.
Can anybody tell me how can i solve this issue!

I guess somewhere on your selection screen there is also a parameter for sales order (eg. pa_vbeln)?
Then:
SELECT posnr
 FROM vbap
 INTO TABLE i_item
 WHERE vbeln EQ pa_vbeln
 AND posnr IN s_posnr.
Will get all position numbers in your internal table.

KKA2 values into internal table

Hi,
I would like to create a report which accepts multiple WBS elements and display with all records which comes at KKA2.
KKA2 accept sinlge record, but whatever the values displaying at KKA2, i want in my Z report.
Please let me know how can I fetch those records as it is a module pool program, i didnt find option to use SUBMIT PROGRAM.
Even I may not able to use Export and Import memory id's to read it.

Many of those tables are not much relevant, nevertheless better use an Abap trace (or analyze source code) to identify a subset of forms or an FM executed so you just could call those forms or FM in you report.

Put value into internal table field

Hello Gurus,
I have one field which I stored into one variable through cncatenate statment in variable VAR1.
and I have another variable VAR2 have some amount.
now I want to put this amount to the field which is present into the VAR1.
ex: VAR1 = 't_display-co1'
 VAR2 = 200
now I wnat to put this 200 into t_display-co1
o/p t_display-co1 = 200.
How should I do this?

When you declare your internal table , make an addtion occurs 0
eg . data : begin of iznew occurs 0 ,
                fields ...
   add the field here ed1.
           end of iznew.
now when you are calculating the value of ed1,
you can pass the corresponding value of ed1 and modify table iznew.
eg
loop at iznew.
iznew-ed1 = ed1.
modify iznew.
endloop.

Question about reading csv file into internal table

Some one (thanks those nice guys!) in this forum have suggested me to use FM KCD_CSV_FILE_TO_INTERN_CONVERT to read csv file into internal table. However, it can be used to read a local file only.
I would like to ask how can I read a CSV file into internal table from files in application server?
I can't simply use SPLIT as there may be comma in the content. e.g.
"abc","aaa,ab",10,"bbc"
My expected output:
abc
aaa,ab
10
bbb

Here I can not even split at ',' because some of the values are having value like NULL and some have values with comma too,
The delimiter is a quote and the separator is a comma here.
Can anyone help on this?

As long as there can be a comma in a text literal you are right that the spilt command doesn't help. However there is one possibility how to attack this under one assumption:
- A comma outside a text delimiter is always considered a separator
- A comma inside a text delimiter is always considered a comma as part of the text
You have to read you file line by line and then travel along the line string character by character and setting a flag or counter for the text delimiters:
e.g.
"Text","Text1, Text2",NULL,NULL,"Text"
String Index 1: EQ " => lv_delimiter = 'X'
String Index 2: EQ T => text literal (because lv_delimiter = 'X')
String Index 3: EQ e => text literal (because lv_delimiter = 'X')
String Index 4: EQ x => text literal (because lv_delimiter = 'X')
String Index 5: EQ t => text literal (because lv_delimiter = 'X')
String Index 6: EQ " => lv_delimiter = ' ' (because it was 'X' before)
String Index 7: EQ , => This is a separator because lv_delimiter = ' '
String Index 8: EQ " => lv_delimiter = 'X' (because it was ' ' before)
String Index 9: EQ T => text literal (because lv_delimiter = 'X')
String Index 10: EQ e => text literal (because lv_delimiter = 'X')
String Index 11: EQ x => text literal (because lv_delimiter = 'X')
String Index 12: EQ t => text literal (because lv_delimiter = 'X')
String Index 13: EQ 1 => text literal (because lv_delimiter = 'X')
String Index 14: EQ , => text literal (because lv_delimiter = 'X')
String Index 15: EQ T => text literal (because lv_delimiter = 'X')
Whenever you hit a 'real' separator (lv_delimiter = ' ') you pass the value of the string before that up to the previous separator into the next structure field.
This is not an easy way to do it, but if you might have commas in your text literal and NULL values I gues it is probably the only way to go.

Read Application server file and upload into internal table

Another help needed guys,
My file in the application server is of format
Name       Marks 1    Marks 2       Marks 3............
A                10             15               20
The only thing separating the columns is space.
Actually this file was downloaded from an internal table into the app server.
Now I want to load it back into the internal table.
How do I load this into internal table so that each column goes in separate internal table field.
Currently am using cl_abap_char_utilities=>HORIZONTAL_TAB but I can get only the first column name in my field1 of the internal table.
How should I applroach this?

then suppose see if u r file is in the format of name#marks1#marks2#marks3.
then in the program u do like this..
first declare one internal table with one filed.

String operations in internal table

Dear friends..
        Good morning.
                    I wish to know.. how i segregate the field from a database table to internal table into two different internal table field. say for example.
i have db table tab1 which has field number
tab1 -> number
and i have another internal table itab1 whic has two fields numa and numb
tab1 -> numa
     -> numb
i have value in tab1->number is 001 and 0001
i wish to segregate this two values in to internal table
if the value is 001 then it should be into 001 -> numa
if the value is 0001 then it should be into 0001-> numb
i dont know how to perform the string operations in internal table.. would you like to tell me how i fix this problem any suggetion, article, code will be great help of mine..

if u want
numa numb
003   0003.
then u have to loop in one table and modify other.
that is any one table should contains both the field.

How can i convert XML values to internal table . i am getting all the values into the string.
this is my example
