Spread sheet in Webdynpro ABAP using Office control

Hi Experts,
I need to create an excel sheet in an ABAP Webdynpro application and fill its data
programatically in my code i.e. I cannot read data from an existing file and populate the data source.
Is it possible to fill its data source in any other way, example from an internal table.
Please suggest.

Hi Soumyadeep,
Have you binded the "dataSource" property of the UI element properly to a binary attribute. Because this error says you have not binded some mandatory property in iView.
So may be dataSource or some other property which is mandatory is not mapped.

Excel import export using Office Control

Hi,
We have the requirement to provide a feature like an excel uplaod and download in our UI (WD ABAP).Basically we have some WD table view and we need to collect all the data in each cell and then download the data in an excel file.Similarly we need to get the data in the Excel and fill the table view with this data from the excel.
Is this possible through the Office Control?I checked out the examples in SIOS but my impression was that it more or less embeds office objects(excel,word etc) in Webdynpro container,but does not really get the data to be filled in an internal table.Also I am not sure whether I can download data from my WD table view to an excel file using this.
Can anyone please tell me if there is some way to do this through an office control.If not what are the options available for me to achieve this functionality.

Hi Sourav,
If you use WDP ALV table, it has an 'Export' functionality which will export the contents of the table into an Excel.

HR-ABAP using Table Control Wizard

My requirements is to customize an infotype which is customer specific.
After creating the infotype in PM01, I also create the screen(2000) for the
infotype. The issue is in the table control. I create a table control
using table control wizard, getting the information that i need to output in the
screen, using another infotype which is PA0007 planned working time.
The expected result is that the data will diplay on the screen when i execute PA30.
Do you have any idea or any recommendation to resolve the issue? thanks.

Hi,
Create a table control in layout and place your fields in table control.
Press F6 and give the table name and click on get from dictionary and select the 5 fields which you required and palce those fields in table control.
Double click on table control and give table control name .
In Top include create a stmt as
CONTROLS : TABlecontrolname TYPE TABLEVIEW USING SCREEN '1000'.
In PBO under a module write your logic that means select query and place it in an internal table. Place that select query under IF condition.

Problem in using Office Control to launch ms word

Hi Armin,
What u said is right, but the data type of both the attributes in view context and controller context are same (binary). I had placed all the code in component controller only and trying to assign the Byte array to controller context (binary) attribute only. I think there might be some problem with supplier function. Plse check it once...

a.) Check if the db colum types match the parameter types

Uploading/Downloading Files in Webdynpro ABAP

Hello,
I am trying to Upload/Download Files in Webdynpro ABAP using the following link:

It works fine and the file(either .doc or .txt) gets uploaded successfully. But when I download it ,it is not able to retrieve the contents.
May be the SAP ECC system does not work with Microsoft Office 2007.

I guess it has problem with .doc extension but
.txt you can read
and also .docx and .xlsx will provide the content
it is only this .doc and .xls which will create problem.
e.g. .docx after downloading will give one .zip file.
change its extension to .doc or .docx. the content will be there.

Problems in Office control

Hello Everyone,
   I am stuck with a problem using office control.
The requirement is to display the excel file contents present in the application server to the office control.
The problem is with reading the contents of the excel file.
here is the method i used:
data:
    mime_repository type ref to if_mr_api,
    content type xstring,
    url type string value '/MIG/D/TEST/TEST.xls'.
mime_repository = cl_mime_repository_api=>get_api( ).
call method mime_repository->get
    exporting
      i_url = url
    importing
      e_content = content.
* DATA is binded to the office control contents
wd_context->set_attribute( name = 'DATA' value = content ).
The GET method returns a sy-subrc = 3, which means file not found.
whereas the same code works for another application server with its path.
Where am i going wrong? or is there any alternative method to get the content from the file?

I think you should place your file in the exact folder where WDA can recognize, I mean try placing it @ the folder...
"/SAP/BC/WebDynpro/SAP/PUblic/BC/ssr/uuielibs/office_integration".

Display MS word file in Office control

Hi all,
I am using the Office control UI element to display a MS word file in WD application. I have created a Mime object for the word file and get this file data into a Xstring attribute, and bind this attribute with the datasource property of the Office control.
But at the runtime I am not able to display the Word file, it displays only a White colour container with text SAP IOS. Can anyone suggest me how I can get the word file in WD component using office control.
I have also checked SOIS pakage, but didn't get any solution from the example given in this package.
For your reference I am using the below code to get the mime object in Xstring attribute.

This lv_test having the Xstring data after execution but didn't set this data as word file at runtime.

Create new users from an excel spread sheet

Hi Everyone.
I am very new to SAP and I have only done the ABAP programming course last month.
To make mme become familiar with ABAP - I was given a task of creating users from an Excel spread sheet - This will be used later on when we implement the new SAP system and decommision the legacy system.
I am just wondering If anyone has created such program - I would appreciated If I can have a copy So I can learn how it is done -
At the moment, I was thinking of using BAPI_USER_CREATE1 and BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMIT to create users and optimise the creation call. Is there any thing else that I should be aware of ? I'd be appreciated if someone drop me some ideas - Thanks in Advance

Since posting the question, I discovered that within 'BAPI_USER_CREATE1' sub-call statements - comit is already done. Now my questions are:
1) Do I still need 'BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMIT' to optimise the CREATE new newusers call ? Apparently, yes.......I am curious for the reason 'why' since comitting is already done.
2) I did an interactive call of the 'BAPI_USER_CREATE1' - a user id was actually created in the system. Now, my second question is.. Is there a way of calling 'BAPI_USER_CREATE1' without comitting the data (i.e. create user record on file)..
I want to call this whout comitting because I want to sort out the number of 'good' records from the supplied data list - and presenting the success percentage to the users before comitting the data.

How to Generate New Version of Enhancements done to Std WebDynpro ABAP obj

Hi Experts,
We have enhanced a SAP Std WebDynpro ABAP component (HAP_DOCUMENT_BODY) using Enhancement framework provided by SAP. Multiple enhancements were done on the same component for different requirements. Now, under the Enhancement Implementations folder of this component, you can see 5 enhancements of the component each referring to the 5 different changes done (most of the changes were done to the same view ).
These changes has now been transported to the Quality System. Now, the client wants one of the changes to be removed. I am not sure of the impact of removing, for eg: the 3rd enhancement, on the other changes done as multiple enhancements were done in a mixed manner.
What i want to do is to generate a new version of WebDynpro component on Dev which has all the enhancements done so far using Utilities -> Versions -> Generate new version. Then try to delete the 3rd enhancement folder, so that if something goes wrong, I can always revert to this newly created version on DEV which has all changes available.
Questions:
1) Before that, I would like to know if I can generate versions of the enhancements done of WebDynpro ABAP using enhancement framework by using Utilities -> Versions -> Generate new version ?
2) If yes, I want to generate one version which has all the enhancements done so far using enhancement framework. For doing so, where should i do the click or selection (Is it Std Main Component or is it Enhancements in the enhancements folder-if so, there are 5 of them, and which one??) before i go to Utilities -> Versions -> Generate new version. I am not clear where i should select or keep the cursor selected on before generating a new version?
Please guide with step by step details.

Portal Eventing in Webdynpro ABAP

Hello,
I am trying to implement Eventing in Webdynpro ABAP using 2 components ,Com1 serving as the source component and Com2 serving as Target. In Com1 I created a Inputfield and a button ,and then tied an action to the button and called the FIRE method of the IF_WD_PORTAL_INTEGRATION and sent the value in the Inputfield as the eventing parameter.
In Com2, i subscribed to the event in the wddoinit() method and then defined an action for the same and got the parameter value sent in the Com1 and set the value in the context attribute in the Com2 which is bound to the inputfield.
But still the value sent in Com1 is not displayed in the Com2 Inputfield.
Any help would be highly appreciated.

Hi I assume the following, please correct me if my understanding is not correct.
1.First of all you try this in Portal.
2.The moment you fire the event, the comp-2 view is active and subscribed to the portal event.
If the above are true then tell me if the portal eventing enter into the action ?Have you checked in bebug that your action is triggerred on portal_event ?
If portal event is action handler is called then if you have a importing parameter portal_event_parameter then your input value should be there.

Webdynpro ABAP Caching Problem in Portal

We have developed custom applications using Webdynpro - ABAP, using FPM and accessing those applications through SAP Netweaver Portal 7.0. I have deactivated all the caching techniquies in Portal @ iview level and Page level, Portal Runtime and ContentFetch side, But still causing the same problem.
I have a doubt, wether this is happening because of SAP Logon Caching @ SAP WAS system level. I have checked the SSO parameter settings in RZ10 Profile parameters. Our basis people have set both accept and create parameter value = 1. Is this causing issue?
Or Is there any other settings which is required to do in Portal or SAP system level. Please let us know , really appreciate your value suggestions and help.

The delete icon will not show up in the line of the favorite/templates, if no hours are recorded on it. There is no transfer to the backend either, unless hours are recorded on these working time attributes. also ensure note 1986356 is implemented for details column check CAC2 for the CATS profile attached to the user in CVR in Su3

(though the url seen in the application in se80 in the webdynrpo abap component does not have workitem id paramter)
It is required to have a parameter WI_ID (as an Application parameter) in your WDA. And via this Application parameter WDA will receive the workitem id, when the task is exceuted from UWL (provided configuration is done in swfvisu)
Could you confirm, there is no Application parameter (WI_ID) in your WDA?
It picks the same workitem id everytime. I tried doing this with a couple of different user ids. but I cant figure out from where it picks this particular workitem id
If you defined WI_ID in Application parameter and there is an option to provide value and it seems, you have defined some value over there or other way might be in your method (inbound plug), you may gave default value to WI_ID in the parameter
If your application is working properly from UWL and for testing purpose, you could put a breakpoint and change the workitem id, when executing from se80
