Spreading the word: A subscription to CC allows access to CS6 programs

How? It took me an online chat and a phone call to figure out. (Read: two hours.)
The answer is through the adobe website.
Go to http://creative.adobe.com/products/
Select the program you want the CS6 version of
Once on that program's page, scroll down to the section titled 'In this version'
Directly below the title, there should be a dropdown box; click it and select '[Program Title] CS6'
The download button at the top of the page should now read 'Download [Program Title] CS6' instead of simply 'Download'
Please note that some programs listed have no CS6 version, as they were not a part of Adobe Creative Suite 6. Some examples are Edge Inspect CC, Adobe Gaming SDK, Ideas, and Photoshop Touch.
Why is this helpful? For one, I take a number of classes that operate Adobe CS6. This keeps me from having to pay attention to how I save my documents at home so they are able to be opened in class.
Also, there are some functions of some programs that have seemingly disappeared in Creative Cloud. In Adobe Flash Professional CC, several panels/functions have been removed, including the Bone Tool which made animating figures created of interacting shapes much simpler. I imagine that there are other programs with functions that have mysteriously disappeared, and this ability clears that issue up.
So- now you know. Happy you don't need to buy CS6 programs while subscribed?

• Lack of Support, Crashes, Static....Spread the word!

I bought a new system and was told the X-FI XtremeGamer Fatalty Pro would work fine in Vista. No where did I read that I would lose all sound for no reason, that games would crash, or that I would get static. I feel like I'm playing the lotto and am greatful if my sound card works for 20 mins.
Its my goal to spread the word to other people thinking about buying a CL product. Clearly CL isn't doing anything to help fix the problem (or you would at least think they would post here saying "yeah we know its an issues we are working on it") Its my goal to help other people now waste their money buying these cards until they work.
For those of you who dont have problems that great, and I'm happy for you (really I am), however this is for the thousands that are stuck with out sound. The only way CL will hear us and do something if we can hurt them financially (I know I dont stand much of a chance in doing this, but hell the fans mad Fire Fly into a movie!)
Now I'm going to re-enable onboard sound and hope I like it as much as my new paper weight.

we have a few problems
- creative support sucks, we all know that.
2 - why we buy their prodcuts? when they works they rulezzzzz!!!
3 - even after 5 years some SB sound cards are far better than integrated solutions but they have reach EOL (end-of-life).

• Sorry, your Story Free subscription does not allow access to this application. Please upgrade your s

I started using Story a few months ago. While writing a script (very proud of it's potential) I was past page 20 I believe, to my own demise I only backed it up around page 9 using a word document. My Hard Drive died and had to be replaced. While trying to save all my files before I took it to the apple store I went to grab my adobe story file and couldnt. So, I tried to log in and got this "Sorry, your Story Free subscription does not allow access to this application. Please upgrade your subscription." I went to the online-version and my story was not there. Thus, I am very angry that I lost my script because out of the blue my subscription no longer allowed me to use Adobe Story on my Macbook Pro.
Nevertheless, I have been unsuccessfully trying to re-open Adobe Story on my newly restored HD and I still get the same message.
If you could help me with what needs to be done, that would be swell.
Thanks.

Yup I was working on my script on Adobe Story, without problems, I was
unable to retrieve the file to save it. My Hard Drive has since been
erased and now I am working on a new HD.
I did re-install CS6. All my other Adobe programs work. The online
version of Story seems to work but every time I sign in using my Adobe ID
it gives me that message. :/ The thing is I never had a subscription so im
quite confused why it's telling me my subscription no longer allows me to
use Story without upgrading and spending oodles of money.
Thanks!

From a Catherine to Katherine -- Had the exact same problem!! I had to enable Java twice - both in Safari and then on the MacBookAir itself.

How do I now allow access?

There are two places where camera access can be changed:
Settings - Privacy - Camera - <your app>

• WRT1900 AC V1 - Linksys is aware that the router is not working properly. Help spread the word.

I just had a conversation with Linksys' Customer Service via chat: Daphne L. J: Hello Fernando Paramo. My name is Daphne L..
Daphne L. J: Welcome to Linksys Global Chat. Is this your initial contact or do you have a case number?
You: Case number is 04971062
Daphne L. J: Please give me 3-5 minutes to pull up and review your case.
You: OK
Daphne L. J: Thank you.
You: I have a WRT1900 AC, V1. The router is not working properly. I have disconnections every few minutes.I already installed the new firmware version and I still have the same issues. I already reset the router to factory defaults and same issues. I have changed the settings back to my personal preferences: Changed the SSID, changed the wireless security settings, changed the DNS and deactivate WPS. That's it.I'm using 5 Ghz mode with my laptops (5 Ghz adapters) and 2-4 Ghz with a few devices (Chromecast, Nintendo 3DS).
Daphne L. J: Thank you for waiting.
Daphne L. J: Please confirm if the following information is correct:
Name : Fernando Paramo
Phone Number :
E-Mail Address :
Model Number : WRT1900AC
Serial Number : 13J10609406280
Country : United States
You: That's correct.
Daphne L. J: Okay. Were you able to check if the devices have stable connection wired to the router?
You: No. I do not have devices with Ethernet ports. Well, only the cable modem.
You: But the modem is fine. No disconnections from my ISP.
You: It is the router.
Daphne L. J: Alright. What is the current firmware version of your router?
You: I tried to return the router to Wal-Mart yesterday with no luck. This is a useless device. And I have been reading comments on the community forums and a lot of people are having problems.
Daphne L. J: We are actually aware of the issue and are working on a resolution. What is the current firmware version of your router?
You: Ver. 1.1.10.167514
You: Latest one.
Daphne L. J: Yes, so you reflashed the firmware, reset and then manually reconfigure it after, not using backup configuration, is that right?
You: That's correct.
Daphne L. J: And it is intermittent on all devices connected to both 2.4 and 5 Ghz networks, is that right?
You: That's correct.
Daphne L. J: Thank you for the information. Please give ,e 3-5 minutes to verify this with my superior.
Daphne L. J: Thank you for waiting.
You: I want to send you my WRT1900 AC and get a V2 or I want a EA8500 and pay the difference myseld.
You: I do not want my current hardware.
You: It is useless for my needs.
You: I can't believe I had an older E3000 that didn't give me any problems.
Daphne L. J: We have already exhausted all possible troubleshooting steps for your concern. As verified with my Supervisor, we will forward your case to our Customer Assurance Team. They are highly technical and knowledgeable when it comes to advanced troubleshooting. They will contact you in the next 24 to 48 hours. By the way, who is your Internet Service Provider? And do you Cable or DSL connection?
You: Cable connection.
Daphne L. J: Who is your Internet Service Provider?
You: A company called .
You: How are they going to contact me?
Daphne L. J: Alright. By the way, on the device itself, on its FCC ID, please check if you have WRT1900AC or WRT1900AC v2.
You: Are you paying attention to me?
You: I already told you it's V1.
Daphne L. J: They will call or email you. Please double check if these informations are correct:
Name :

You: I told you I want to send you my WRT1900 AC and get a V2 or I want a EA8500 and pay the difference myself.
You: I want them to contact me to my email. I can't answer the phone during work hours.
Daphne L. J: We can't assure you if we will be able to replace it with Version 2 or if you are allowed to have the EA8500 instead.
Daphne L. J: Just in case, do you also have an alternate number?
Daphne L. J: Also, what time zone are you in? And what is your preferred time and day for them to contact you?
You: I have the one from my office in Mexico. Central Time. Any time is good.
Daphne L. J: So, you are currently in Mexico?
You: I work in Mexico but I have the house in USA. I live in the border.
Daphne L. J: I see. Do you have any other questions or clarifications?
You: I live 10 minutes away from the International Bridge. But that's not an issue. I bought the router at Walmart in Laredo, TX.
Daphne L. J: Thank you for the information. Would that be all for now?
You: I want a clarification: Do you realize that there is an issue with the current WRT1900 AC? Are you aware of that?
You: Because this is a very expensive router that is not working as it should be.
Daphne L. J: Yes, we are aware of the issue and are working on a resolution.
Daphne L. J: Would there be anything else you need?
You: That would be it. I will wait for you to contact me.
You: Thanks.
Daphne L. J: Alright. Thank you for giving us an opportunity to serve you through Linksys Live Chat. You may also visit our support site at www.linksys.com. For your reference, your case number is 04980394. Thank you for choosing Linksys and have a great day! We paid $250 for this piece of equipment. That's a lot of money for a device that doesn't work. I just want to get a V2 replacement, or better yet, an exchange for a EA8500. We should all demand this. It is not fair for us. The current WRT1900 AC is a useless device. They even should do a recall of the product. I will wait for them to contact me, but I'm thinking if I should send the information to The Consumerist or someone else. What to do?

Well... instead of looking into this with Engineering, I would prefer you to talk about this with the Sales department and exchange my WRT1900AC for an EA8500 (I will pay the difference if needed). Seriously. The device is useless. Not just a paperweigt... an expensive paperweight.Actually I looking into the swap for you because I think that would be best in your case. Keep this in perspective. There is laterally millions of WRT1900AC V1 out there with very few issues with latest firmwares and of course the odd exception. In your case it could be a defective WRT1900AC.

Hello. I sent my WRT1900AC V1 to Linksys four days ago (Monday) via UPS with a RMA. Linksys paid the shipping and everything. The router is still in route, and it should arrive to their offices tomorrow. Once they receive the WRT1900 AC V1, they are going to send me an EA8500 as a replacement. But I have been reading the comments about the EA8500 here in the forum and it seems to have the same problems. I guess the firmware is extremely flawed in both routers (maybe it is almost the same code?). Anyway, I will try the EA8500 and I hope it works. I bought a temporary router from Walmart and I paid $35 for it. It is a Belink N600 DB. I can't believe that a $35 router is working a lot, lot, lot better than my previous $250 WRT1900AC router. Unbelievable. If the EA8500 doesn't work, I'm going to try and get my money back from Linksys, or contact The Consumerist or someone to get my money back and get a Nighthawk instead.

• Problem with 'spread the word' badge?

I used the first (smaller vertical) badge at https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/ on my Wordpress blog but although it shows the badge, it also shows the second half of the HTML: "var pfsNextImage = "https://www.mozilla.org/img/covehead/plugincheck/wb/en-US/180_150/safe.png";var pfsUpdateImage = "https://www.mozilla.org/img/covehead/plugincheck/wb/en-US/180_150/upyourplug.png";"
If I remove that part, it just shows the badge, but do I lose anything but not including the part I've removed?
The whole code is:

<a href="https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/"><img id="mozilla_plugin_checker_badge" src="https://www.mozilla.org/img/covehead/plugincheck/wb/en-US/180_150/loading.png" width="180" height="150" alt="We can check your plugins and stuff" border="0" /></a><script type="text/javascript">var pfsNextImage = "https://www.mozilla.org/img/covehead/plugincheck/wb/en-US/180_150/safe.png";var pfsUpdateImage = "https://www.mozilla.org/img/covehead/plugincheck/wb/en-US/180_150/upyourplug.png";</script><script src="https://www.mozilla.org/js/plugincheck_badge.js"></script>

Thanks for replying. My blog is at http://adeunsheep.wordpress.com/
You will see two versions of the badge on my blog, on the right sidebar. One is 'cleaned up' where I've removed the script tag (and the link seems to work fine), the other, further down, shows the badge with the whole text including the script tag.
Not sure what "inspect the page source" means but I've tried both 'view page source' and 'inspect element' on the text both on the Firefox page where I found the badge and on my blog (from within the widget placing area, on the blog itself logged in and logged out);
'view page source' shows red text, namely numbers preceded by a #, forward slashes (/), &amp, &gt, (there's also a lot of blue and purple, and some bold black);
'inspect element' shows no red text.
As I say, I've found a workaround but figured it was worth pointing out. I must admit I don't understand how the link works without the script tag but then, I'm a complete novice where code of any sort is concerned!

• Will the SD card slot/ Camaera adapter allow access to other files,

The Camera kit boasts auto sync of photos and videos via the SD card dock adapter. will other data such as music files be syncable as well with the adapter?

As I suspected, It does seem unlikely that we would be able to add storage with something as simple as an SD card. Again, Apple has given us just enough of what we want to get us to buy it. but we can only upgrade if we do it by buying the better model. I think that they have a whole design department that finds ways of keeping evry little app proprietary. I've had a 3 5th gen Ipod videos since they came out and I still can't get Apple to add a user adjustable EQ.

• ANN: Spreading the news about the ePub workflow Webinar

Hello InDesign enthusiasts, I wanted to share this event with you:
In January, 2011 a new webinar series hit the airwaves, offering two days of intensive how-to, why-to, and when-to online training in electronic publishing workflows—the ePublishing Workflow Webinar. With all major publications going digital, including New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Wired Magazine and a host of others, the market is set for eBooks to take over from traditional publishing methods. Colleges and universities are releasing digital versions of their courseware, and Amazon now offers 630,000 ebook titles on their web site.
“Within five years there will be more digital content sold than physical content. Three years ago, I said within ten years but I realized that was wrong – it’s within five.” Steve Haber, president of Sony’s digital reading business division as told to The Telegraph
Pariah Burke, Sally Cox and Steve Dolan are presenting this webinar as a solution for those who are considering taking the leap into the ebook, e-magazine, and e-catalog domain. “’Print’ and ‘publishing’ no longer mean just ink on paper,” says Burke, a 20-year publishing and graphic workflow expert. “Publishing professionals need to embrace that concept in order to stay relevant, to stay employable.”
In two six-hour sessions, you will learn to create ebooks and rich media e-publications from a variety of the most popular software applications, including Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Word, Apple Pages and QuarkXPress. Edit and control formatting using Cascading Style Sheets, export to any of the popular ebook formats. Add graphics and hyperlinks to keep the reader engaged. Learn the difference between ePUB, PDF and Flash formats, and get tips on choosing the right one for your e-publication.
Once you have created your digital publications, you will need to market them. Day Two of this webinar shows you how to obtain an ISBN or ASN number, market your ebook or e-magazine, use the new Amazon plug-in for Adobe InDesign to directly export ebooks to Kindle, and get your publications onto the iPad, Android devices, BlackBerry PlayBook and into the ebook libraries of Apple’s iBooks, Amazon.com, and more.
This informative webinar is highly anticipated and will sell out quickly. Learn more and register for the online event here: http://abbrv.it/ePub
Dates and Tickets
The first scheduled ePublishing Workflow Webinar is scheduled for March 24 & 25, 2011. 2-day event tickets are $199 per person until March 1, 2011, and $249 per person thereafter. Ticket sales are processed via Event Brite.
The Webinar will be delivered to attendees at their offices or homes via an Adobe Connect Pro online meeting room. Attendees have the choice of audio participation via computer speakers and microphone or telephone conferencing.

and it has just three button of "Yes", "No" and "Help".
I go to Java Control Panel and Security tab, then set security level on the "Medium" and add my site in the Exception Site List but this warning is shown each time I open web intelligence.
I have searched the internet very much but I haven't found any solutions for disabling of it. How can I disable this security warning?

Once again, my thanks for your assistance. If I may impose on your generosity one more time, if I understand you correctly if I create a document on Word or WordPerfect, print it and scan it to create a pdf, the search function will not work. But, if I create the pdf document in Word the search function will work. Unfortunately, I am not sure how I create a pdf document in Word other than by printing it and scanning it. Could you please explain.

• Allow the word Urg.ent

Two suggestions:
1.Please allow for the word urg.ent to be used on the forum. I understand you don't want people to use it in the titles when they want an answer in a hurry. However, whenever we want to discuss Solution Manager's ChaRM functionality, the topic urg.ent correction causes issues. If you don't modify the word, you just get the error that you're using a forbidden word.
2. This leads me to my second suggestion. Tell the poster what it is exactly that the filter doesn't like. One time I spent over 30 minutes rewording my post and finally just gave up. It gets frustrating when you don't know what to fix.

Regarding your second point, I think this has been suggested but turned down because for each responsible forum participant like yourself (where this would be very helpful) there is several trolls that would use this information to easily circumvent the filter.
They do it anway by using terms like urjent or ASAP or earliest, but what can you do...
Thomas
P.S. with a little trick you can write urgent as well
P.P.S. mine seems to be different than Vishwa's...
