  • Weblogic 8.1 SP4 - weblogic.utils.AssertionError has been deprecated???

    Hi All,
    My web application has been running great all these years with WebLogic 7.0 SP2. I am upgrading it to Weblogic 8.1 SP4.
    Few classes have the following code snippet:
    throw new weblogic.utils.AssertionError("impossible case: " + idx);
    Here idx is int.
    This code snippet never gave any trouble with WebLogic 7.0 SP2. Now when I am building the application with WebLogic 8.1 SP4 and JDK 1.4, it gives the following warning at the build time:
    [javac] warning: weblogic.utils.AssertionError in weblogic.utils has been deprecated
    [javac] throw new weblogic.utils.AssertionError("impossible case: " + idx);
    I am trying to identify, if this class has been deprecated in WebLogic 8.1, then what is the alternative class which I can use?
    I searched in all BEA documentations, but did not get any reference.
    Can some one help me, if you know about it.
    I would highly appreciate it.
    Thanks,
    Ashish.

    Hi,
    As you are using WLS8.1 It means your JDK will be JDK1.4 and there is a Bug already available with JDK1.4 for the Same issue ... Please find the below link:
    http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do;:YfiG?bug_id=4705373 (For Sun JDK1.4)
    AND
    http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6373059 (For Sun JDK 1.5.0_05)
    Please try to switch to JRockit JDK.

    Well, in the web.xml for the app we have it set up as BASIC authentication, and list the roles that are allowed at that particular site. In order to sign in, another app would have to set the authorization property in the URLConnection.
    The problem is, using AXIS to connect, I have no way to set this property in the connection, since it is wrapped up by axis. (Call)
    I have reached a potential solution of constructing the soap message with the client using means other than the AXIS API, which I am implementing now and praying it will work!
    Everything I have read suggests using SSL to connect to the web service, but I can't figure out how to set up SSL so that my host/axisweb directory needs HTTPS but host/ doesn't...
    Does this make sense? Any suggestions?

  • Spring Flex application on weblogic 10.3

        I have developed an Spring-Flex application. I did the necessary changes to be done in web.xml, spring-config.xml and services-config.xml.  The application is working fine on Tomcat server. But when tried deploying .war of the application on Weblogic 10.3,  the navigation of the application is failing. Even the messagebroker defined on startup page if not receiving.
    Is there any server specific changes need to be done on Weblogic before deploying the .war file?
    Please provide the pointers.

    Hi,
    Did you configure your application module to use a JDBC data source? To do this, right-click the app module in the navigator, select Configurations and in the dialog that comes up change the connection type to JDBC Data Source and enter your data source name - which should be the same as the data source you created on the weblogic server.
    Also, I do suggest you create an EAR file - this is what we've tested and certified with. You can find more details in the deployment chapter of the fusion developer's guide: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/web.1111/b31974/deployment_topics.htm#CHDJJDDG.
    Hope this helps
    Blaise

    Is there any JavaEE sample application somewhere which can be runnable by Weblogic server ?
    I would like to learn how JavaEE application and framework work on Weblogic.
    Or is there any e-learnign seminar or how to video ?

    Is Google broken for you?
    Just search for them (e.g. 'weblogic java ee tutorial') and you will find more than you can use.

    A best practice in this situation is to check on a running sample e.g. Oracle ADF: Security for Everyone
    I guess your resource grants are not set correctly.

  • How to deploy Servlet Application in Weblogic 8.1

    Hi,
    I am new to BEA Weblogic 8.1 .
    I was trying to create a sample application using InelliJ IDea 5.1 , and IntelliJIdea 10.5 . i configured weblogic with IDE , but now i do not know how to deploy my application in weblogic .
    I am new in IntelliJ also .
    So Can anyone tell me how can i deploy a servlet application in any IDE like i also have eclipse indigo.
    Thanks & Regards
    Komi

    Hi Komi
    Basically you deploy your Servlet as a WAR File. I am not familiar with IntellJ IDE. But it should have a provision to export/create a WAR file that has your Servlet. Also I hope you already have web.xml file with 2 sections like this: First you mention full package of your servlet and give it a name. Then enter a mapping url. You will use this url to run your servlet like http://weblogichost:weblogicport/yourWebappcontextroot/myservlet
    <servlet>
         <servlet-name>MyServlet</servlet-name>
         <servlet-class>com.abd.def.MyServlet</servlet-class>
    </servlet>
    <servlet-mapping>
         <servlet-name>MyServlet</servlet-name>
         <url-pattern>/myservlet</url-pattern>
    </servlet-mapping>
    Coming to deployment, I hope you already created a Weblogic Domain and have admin username/password. Start your domain. Login into weblogic console like http://host:port/console and use admin username/password. Then from Deployments section, deploy the above WAR file. In Weblogic you can deploy JAR (EJBs, java files), WAR (web jsp, html, webservices, servlets) or EAR (JAR + WAR). In your case its just a WAR file.
    Refer the online docs for more details on Deployments in Weblogic.

  • How to deploy shsc applications on weblogic server

    I have weblogic 8.1 with sp3. Any pointers on how to deploy sjsc created applications on Weblogic.
    I am able to deploy sample jsf programs created without using the IDE without any hitches, I am unable to deploy the war file created by the Sun java studio creator.
    Thanx
    Inder

    Hello,
    Although we don't support incremental deployment
    to other App Servers, you can export a WAR file.
    In the Project Navigator, select the Project , right-click
    and choose context menu, "Export WAR File"
    Also, these pages may help:
    http://wiki.java.net/bin/view/People/DeployingCreatorApps
    http://developer.sun.com/prodtech/javatools/jscreator/reference/faqs/technical.jsp
    See #6
    How will web applications developed with Java Studio Creator be deployed to servers other than Java System Application Server 8, Platform Edition? SDN Standard subscription required.

  • Deploying Java stand alone application in Weblogic server

    Hi All,
    We have an java stand alone application which our client uses. Suddenly they came up with a requirement of using this application from web logic server.We have following directory structure for our application
    myapp
    - config -> contains all configuration files
    - logs -> contains log files
    - ssl -> ssl related files
    - samples ->contians stub's
    - myapp.jar
    How to deploy our standalone application in to weblogic server?.
    We tried putting whole myapp folder in WEB-INF folder , and from the servlet we are able to invoke an method in an class file( in myapp.jar say Test.getInstance()) but it couldnt find configuration files (in config folder ) and it is throwing an error. We have a class called Test in myapp.jar and when we call getInstance of the class it loads all config files - config file location is hardcoded as /config/myconfig.xml , and we are facing problem here because it couldnt find myconfig.xml.
    We also tried packaging whole myapp folder in to jar , but with that also we faced the same problem
    Please let us know are we proceeding in the right way and how to deploy our application in weblogic server.We dont prefer making changes to our code at this point of time.
    Any info on this will be very helpful to us.
    Regards,
    Suresh

    Hi René van Wijk,
    Thanks for quick reply. Link you mentioned gave a basic idea of application structure , but still i couldnt get deployment process.
    Am very much new to weblogic.Can you please let me know how to deploy our standalone application in to weblogic, with out making any changes to the code.
    Below is folder structure of my java stand alone application *( not webapplication)*
    myapp
    - config -> contains all configuration files , for ex:- myconfig.xml
    - logs -> contains log files
    - ssl -> ssl related files
    - samples ->contians stub's
    - myapp.jar
    We have logic to load configuration file (config/myconfig.xml) , in an class and we are not allowed to make any changes to this code, so we cant use Thread.currentThread().getContextClassLoader().getResource(...) .
    Regards,
    Suresh
