Spring / Toplink Transaction / Commit Issue
Hi,
Im working on a spring / toplink integration on my project.
The problem Im facing has to do with transaction / commits
Im using a TransactionProxyFactoryBean to encapsulate a BusinessProcess responsible for creating a new Company Instance and its main Office.
As the 2 entity have to be created atomicly I have setup a PROPAGATION_REQUIRED on the createCompanyAndMainOffice method of the CompanyBusinessProcess.
The problem is I want to return a session, identified company object and I cant see how to do that correctly.
I tried and create a sub internal method like internalTXCreate called by createCompanyAndMainOffice, that would be the one transactional, so I get the commit at the end of its execution, returning the working copy with the newly inserted id, and perform a load with its its ID on the session from createCompanyAndMainOffice.
But it seems that the TransactionalProxyFactoryBean only intercepts calls on the 'entry point' methods... so back to where I started ...
I check the reference petclinic implementation and the only new* method does mention it returns a non identified BusinessObject which I find a bit disturbing in my case ...
Any idea on the problem ?
Thanks for your help,
Best Regards

Something like this in createCompanyAndMainOffice should work:
return (Owner)getTopLinkTemplate().registerObject(new Owner());
post-commit, the returned Object will be a reference from Toplink shared cache.

Spring-TopLink Integration and transparent transaction controller
Hi,
I'm new to TopLink and I read the article in the "Mastering J2EE" series about the Spring TopLink integration. I never actually got into Spring before, so I went and checked out the articles and tutorials and then I went back to my exploration of TopLink.
From what I understood, Spring promises that you wouldn't need to change your code, only your configuration files, if you change your transaction controller from the OR framework transaction controller to a JTA enabled one provided by the AS. But when I read the "Transactions" chapter in the TopLink application developer's guide, it seemed that the way you use the UnitOfWork in your code differs significantly depending on whether you're using an external transaction controller.
My question is, does this void Spring's promise or is there a work around for that?
Thanks.You will not have to change any java code when you switch "transaction controller" strategies in your Spring beans.xml file.
When you talk about "the way you use the UnitOfWork in your code", you're talking about the section in the "Transactions" chapter called "External Transaction Controllers" right? In any case, the differences at the java level, are essentially that you acquire an "active" UnitOfWork (getActiveUnitOfWork) and that you no longer explicitly commit the UnitOfWork.
Neither of these two differences impacts your use of TopLink within Spring. In Spring, the transaction is always managed by a Spring PlatformTransactionManager so your TopLink code will never call commit, whether you're using an ExternalTransactionController or not. The code will be identical whether you're running in J2SE or J2EE.
Also, since we expect users to access TopLink either through a TopLinkTemplate or through a TopLinkInterceptor, the Spring container will always "inject" a TopLink Session that is aware of whether or not there is currently an ExternalTransactionController. So, there will be no difference between the behavior of acquireUnitOfWork and getActiveUnitOfWork. Both will behave identically. They will return you the UOW currently associated with the current Spring PlatformTransactionManager. So, there is no environmental dependency here either.

Spring-TopLink Integration Available
A preview of our integration with Spring is available now.
http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/ias/toplink/preview/spring/index.html
We are working on contributing this into Spring and hope to have it available from the Spring Framework website in the future.
As always, your feedback is appreciated via this forum,

Spring TopLink Integration Preview Updated
The preview of the Spring TopLink Integration support has been updated on OTN. Changes are described in the release notes.

Transaction commit unsuccessfully - during import of Profit center in 8.81
Hello Experts!
Good day! I've been trying to upload using DTW template for cost center. During "run simulation" it was run successfully, but during actual import, the error per line is transaction commit unsuccessfully. I have tried several date format but the only format accepted is yyyy-mm-dd. I cannot figure out the reason for this. Kindly help me in solving this issue.
My SAP 8.81 patch level is: 5 and my DTW version is 88.1.4.

Regards,
Luz A. CornejoHi Luz,
You're already said that you could successfully upload it in Test Run mode, so I don't think you made any mistake whatsoever with date format, field mapping rules, etc. considering if you made any mistake in that regard, you will get error message even in Test Run mode.
I'm not sure if this could help you, but I once encountered same problem like you back then few years ago, if I remember correctly in SBO 2005. The very same problem, Test Run mode success, when I wanted to upload it permanently, error. The problem is, I didn't use DTW from latest patch. You said that you use PL 5 but your DTW PL 4. Maybe you should try upgrade your DTW to PL 5? Not sure if this helps, good luck.

JMS - UserTransaction - Commit issue
Introduction
I am moving from WebSphere to Weblogic and have counterd an UserTransaction commit issue.
The code have not been modified, however the logic in Weblogic and Websphere behaves different.
The messagingsystem is Websphere MQ, in Weblogic I have QCF, destinations, host and port etc. in a .bindings file, and I have configured JMS server and JMS modules with corresponding jndi names.
I have verified that this configuration is correct throug a custom develop testtool deployed in WL, message is sent successfully to MQ.
The problem - description
However in my application i'm using UserTransaction and this is not working as expected.
I have two classes that communicate with MQ (AbcDAO.java and QueueBroker.java) AbcDAO.java creates a UserTransaction and communicates with Queuebroker throug a method called "SendToAutoS" this method retrives the corrilationId (for the message sendt to MQ) from Queuebroker.
The SendMessage method creates qcf, queueconnection, queue etc and sends the message to MQ. When i debug this steps (line:queueSender.send(theMessage) I can verify in MQ that a message count is registerted in mq on the correct queue, but it's not shown (since its not commited). However when performing finalize in Queuebroker, which close both session and connection, the messagecount is gone in MQ, and when returing to AbcDAO.java to perform ut.commit(); there is not any message on Queue.
For me it looks like the message is rolledback when session and connection closes.
Actions tried
If I change this line QueueBroker , transacted to false witch i understand sends message without the need to commit:
boolean transacted = false;
queueSession = queueConnection.createQueueSession(transacted, QueueSession.AUTO_ACKNOWLEDGE);
the message is sendt successfully to MQ. However now either commit or rollback on the UserTransaction is working with transacted=false.
I need the commit and rollback to be done on the UserTransaction for my application.
Anyone have an idea why this is not working?
The files - content
AbcDAO.java - that creates a usertransaction
ut = ServiceLocator.getInstance().getUserTransaction();
ut.begin();
msgCorId = sendToAutoS(userVO, messageSend, transactionQeueSend, transactionQeueFactory);

return QueueBroker.getInstance().sendMessage(message, transactionQueue, transactionQueueFactory);
} catch (BrokerException be) {

Edited by: reZer on 14.sep.2011 13:06I know you are trying to send a JMS message, but just because this is true the generic JMS forum is not automatically the place you should ask questions like this. Your real beef is with the container you are using (Weblogic), UserTransaction and persistent JMS messages in combination with the specific JMS provider you are using.
You will have far more chance to get help with this problem if you ask it in the Weblogic forum which you can also find on this very website. If you make a new post, be sure to create a link to it here so people can follow it.

SAP FS-CD - VPVA Partial commit issue
When we are running VPVA with start current run, dunning will be escalated and the same will be viewed in VYM10 transaction for the dunning history. Also we can view the current dunning level in FPL9 transaction by choosing the below menu
FPL9->SETTING->ADDITIONAL FIELD->SHOW->OK.
Here the issue is, after running VPVA with start current run we are able to view only in VYM10 but its not getting reflected in FPL9 addtional items. Still the dunning level shows as 00.
How to avoid this partial commit issue. FS-CD Experts please advise on this.If FSCD items contain multiple business areas, then there is a possibility that the business area in FI might get populated with a blank space.
If this issue is occurring with all the posting to FI where the BSEG table ( where as in case of new GL, RBUSA in table FAGLFLEXT for total and FAGLFLEXA for item) is not getting populated with business area then there might be some reconciliation issues depending upon the GL (new or old) used. If you are using new GL, you might have to check if document splitting functionality is activated in new GL (mySAPERP which is ECC 6.00 and pack SAPKH6001 and above) and will have to maintain the Business Area as a splitting rule. Additionally refer to note 990612 & check FM FI_DOCUMENT_POST. -
Toplink transaction-type problem
we have web application ear file, inside ear file persistence.xml is looking like
<persistence-unit name="TCA" transaction-type="JTA">
<provider>oracle.toplink.essentials.PersistenceProvider</provider>
<jta-data-source>jdbc/TcaConnDS</jta-data-source>
We have deployed same ear file to 4 different oc4j instances and 2 oc4j instances application working without problem. Another 2 oc4j instances application does not work and we have to modify transaction-type="JTA" to transaction-type="RESOURCE_LOCAL" to make it work.
Since we have deployed same ear to all oc4j instances, 2 oc4j only work with transaction-type="JTA" and the other 2 only work with transaction-type="RESOURCE_LOCAL".
I think it is OC4J configuration to affect toplink behavior. Which oc4j configuration can affect toplink transaction-type setting?
Thanks for the help.Very odd. What does not work, what error do you get?
Are the OC4J servers that same version, what is different about them?

Error ESB to outbound AQ adapter - CCI Local Transaction COMMIT failed
We are trying to enqueue a ESB message to a AQ adapter and recieve a "CCI Local Transaction COMMIT failed due to: SQL Error performing commit(). I have checked all the logs for both ESB and B2B to try to find out why this happening, but I am stuck and don't know where to go look next. We are running ESB 10.1.3.4 and B2B 10.1.2.3.

DBMS_BLOB: ORA-22297: warning: Open LOBs exist at transaction commit time
Hello
I've written this to get to understand BLOBS. I had intended it to take a VARCHAR2 string, convert it to RAW and write the contents to a blob.
However, DBMS_LOB.Write()) returns the error message "ORA-22297: warning: Open LOBs exist at transaction commit time". Can somebody put me right? Just why is this being returned?
Thanks in advance, Aidan
INSERT INTO BINARY (PK ,
BLOBDATA )
VALUES (1 ,
Empty_Blob());
/* Lock the row. */
SELECT BLOBDATADATA INTO V_Blob FROM BINARY WHERE PK = 1 FOR UPDATE;
/* Open the Lob. */
DBMS_LOB.OPEN (V_Blob, DBMS_LOB.LOB_READWRITE);
DBMS_LOB.WRITE (V_Blob ,
V_Length ,
V_Offset ,
UTL_RAW.CAST_TO_RAW (p_Data));
DBMS_LOB.CLOSE (V_Blob);I get the abocve error when running using the GUI
when running from command prompt i get the following

When will Spring-Toplink integration be officially released in Spring
I notice from previous emails that Spring-Toplink integration will eventually be part of the Spring framework itself (similair to existing Hibernate, iBatis, JDO integration). Can you tell me when this will occur? What version of Spring is being targeted?
thankyou,
ChrisChris,
The work is going on right now to have the work checked in and included in Spring 1.2.

Transaction Rollback Issue in SOA Suite
Hi All,
We have been facing the transaction rollback issue very frequently and looking for a concrete solution on this. We have a Asynchronous BPEL process which calls a webservice in a loop of say 20 iteration. In the loop sometimes we face this transaction rollback issue and apparently the CatchAll block doesn't capture this.
In many blogs and oracle metalink we have seen few settings for this and made as per below :
1. JTA Transaction timeout increase : we have it 10000 sec.
2. The Data Source settings : 2.1 : XA transaction timeout check-box selected
2.2 : The Initial Capacity : 10, Maximum Capacity : 200 and Capacity Increment = 5
3. soa-infra -> EJBs -> set the transaction timeout to 1200 for many of the recommended BPELs
4. DISTRIBUTED_LOCK_TIMEOUT = 120 sec.
In short, all the recommended settings are in place. But still, we are facing this issue. Does anyone know if anything is missing in the setting ? Or any other solution to the issue?
Any help is truly appreciated.
Thanks,
AshwiniI think, even if you change the setting you may not get rid of this problem permanently. Try to avoid call to the webservice in a loop and look for any other alternate solution like JMS (thread should not block for the response of the webservice).
