SPROXY xsd:datetime, UTC and CET dates
Hello Experts,
i have a datatype with a field of xsd:datetime type. When i generate the proxy the technical type is defined as XSDDATETIME_Z and the system converts automatically date and time to UTC. I would like it not to happen and i think i should use the domain XSDDATETIME_LOCAL instead. But i don't know how to make sproxy to generate the field with this technical type. And i can't select it from the drop down list available in the field definition of sproxy. Any clue on this?
Thank you in advance.
Put a breakpoint in program
SAPLSPRX_UI
FORM get_extintview
on statement:
IF lv_act_Tab = sesi_tab_extview
( = line 76 of include LSPRX_UIF12 in our system).
Now, in SPROXY, select the field wich should be XSDDATETIME_LOCAL.
Debugger pops up.
in table
GT_DYN_FIELD_ATTR take record with NAME = GS_EXTINTVIEW-OBJECT-ATTR_DT-R3_DATATYP_T
(the one with having LISTBOX_VALUES entries)
and add line to the LISTBOX_VALUES with entry
XSDDATETIME_LOCAL
XSDDATETIME_LOCAL
now you can select it in the proxy
select it and activate it.
Now you have correct datatype.

Save xsd:dateTime in java.util.Date
Hi,
can anybody give me a code snippet to save a String representing an xsd:dateTime (probably containing timezone information) to java.util.Date?
I really don't know how to do it.
Thanks,
SvenIn general if you have a String that contains a formatted date, and you want to make a Date object out of that, then you use a java.text.SimpleDateFormat object and its parse() method.

[SOLVED] Timezones UTC and EDT all mixed up
I have the following settings in rc.conf:
HARDWARECLOCK="localtime"
TIMEZONE="Eastern US"
The clock in the lower right panel does indeed indicate the time in EDT. However, as a screensaver I use the big analog clock and I also put an analog clock in the Arch login window. Both of these clocks show the time in UTC, i.e. 4 hours ahead of EDT. What's worse, the time stamping of all saved files, logs, etc. is also in UTC, and the "date" command shows time in UTC. I believe this is the result of my at one time having run
# date -u
How do I reverse this so that all clocks and timestamping are synchronized to EDT?
Last edited by RobF (2007-04-23 19:49:12)"hwclock" gives the time in UTC.
After I ran hwclock, I went into the BIOS. The date and time in the BIOS was set for UTC time. I reset that to the EDT time and then did a warm reboot. That didn't make any difference in Arch.
I do dualboot into Windows XP. The time there is correct (i.e. shows it in EDT), both in the taskbar and when running "time" from the DOS CLI.
After resetting the BIOS and checking these things in Windows, I did a cold reboot into Arch. Now, in Arch, the login clock and the screensaver clock show the correct time (in EDT). The "date" as well as the "hwclock" command also give the correct time (in EDT) but they say that it's UTC! However, the clock in the bottom panel now runs 4 hrs. behind. When I right-click on this clock and choose "Adjust Date & Time", the "Configure - KDE Control Module" window that comes up shows the correct time (in EDT) and the entry "New York - America/US - Eastern Time" in the "change timezone" box is highlighted but underneath that box it says "Current local timezone: America/New York (UTC)".
When I highlight another entry in this change timezone box and then go back to the entry "New York - America/US - Eastern Time" and click on Apply, the clock in that box resets to 4 hours earlier. When I then redial the clock to the correct EDT time (with the up and down buttons) and hit <Enter>, it shows the correct EDT time and the line underneath the change timezone box now reads "Current local timezone: America/New York (EDT)". Also, the clock in the bottom panel now shows the correct EDT time.
When I now run the "date" command, it gives the time 4 hours ahead and says it's UTC (which is correct). When I save a file, it's timestamped to this UTC time. But I don't want to have all files and logs timestamped to UTC!! hwclock now gives the correct EDT time but says that it's UTC!
It gets worse. After making all of these changes, I did a cold reboot into Arch. Now the login clock and screensaver clock are back again to running 4 hrs. ahead (i.e. giving UTC time), and similarly the date and hwclock commands again give the time 4 hrs. ahead and say it's UTC (which is correct). And the KDE time & date adjust box again says "Current local timezone: America/New York (UTC)". I.e. any adjustment I make through the KDE Control Center Module doesn't survive a reboot. It looks as though the "date -u" command overrides everything. If only I could reset the "date" command to printing EDT time (which I believe is the default that was used before I ran the date -u command)! I've looked everywhere but haven't found a way to undo this -u switch and return to the default.
FWIW, I should say that I installed OpenNTPD, and I'm now running the ntp daemon (ntpd) on startup. I did this after I became aware of this time readout problem but running ntp didn't change anything.
Needless to say, I'm rather confused. -
Date/time conversion from UTC to CET
Hello,
Jjust a little question to our SAP BI community!
Is there a BI function/ggod way that converts a (datetime) string DDMMYYYYHH:MM:SS in UTC time zone into a string DDMMYYYYHH:MM:SS in CET timezone ?
We receive this string in input in a flat file and need it to convert from UTC to CET.
Or do you know any way to convert a date/time from IUTC to CET, eveen using an ABAP function?
Thanks a lot,
MatthieuHi,
Check this thread for time conversion from UTC to Local time

Mediator - convert XSD datetime to SQL date value
Fusion 11g, JDev 11.1.1, W server 2008
Hi there,
using JDev we've defined a DB adapter (towards an ORACLE schema), which basically serves two operations: INSERT and SELECT. On the DB table we've got a DATE_TIME while on on the other side we've defined a wsdl where the INPUT operation takes as parameter an XSD DATETIME value.
The values have different structures and so we've started to play with the "Assign Values" function on the Mediator component, unfortunately without any success.
Right now our expression is the following
from
ora:formatDate($in.newEventParam/newEventParam/ns:executionTime,"dd-MMM-yy")
to
$out.LogCollection/top:LogCollection/top:Log/top:when
As first question I would like to ask you if our approach is correct and in that case what's wrong with our expression as we tried to use the same pattern as we use in SQL.
Second, we performed some tests using the EM console. On test failure it shown a stack trace saying only that there was a problem performing a transformation. That's a bit too less, especially when transformation is done on large amount of values. Is there any way to increase trace level and get further details on which transformation didn't work out?
Thanks in advance
Alessandro IlardoThanks Eric for the link. That helped me to get further details about the issue but unfortunately not enough to locate the cause.
So here I definitely have an issue with the composite application and perhaps another one on getting a SOAP trace from the Mediator log. Even with the finest log level enabled I couldn't see what the Mediator receives from outside.
The first problem instead, seams to be a missing SOAP parameter, I assume that's why on the log I see this
[WEBSERVICE.name: AuditService] [J2EE_APP.name: soa-infra] [composite_instance_id: 40011] Transformation failed[[
oracle.tip.mediator.infra.exception.MediatorException: ORAMED-01203:[No Part]No part exist with name "newEventParam" in source message.Possible Fix:Review the transformation definition in mplan.Contact Oracle Support if the error cannot be fixed.
at oracle.tip.mediator.service.transformation.XSLTransformer.getPartDocument(XSLTransformer.java:221)
[J2EE_APP.name: soa-infra] [composite_instance_id: 40011] Got an exception: java.lang.NullPointerException[[
oracle.tip.mediator.infra.exception.MediatorException: ORAMED-01201:[Error in transform operation]Error occurred while transforming payload.Possible Fix:Review the XSL or source payload. Either the XSL defined does not match with the payload or payload is invalid.
In this routing there are basically 2 things that take place, an XSL mapping and an Assign value expression.
Everything is goes fine until we perform a test from the EM, there we get the error.
Unless someone has further tips on this issue I am considering to make a call from SOAPUI and place WS Monitor in the middle to make sure if the mistake is in the application or platform.

Is it possible to create a Webservice in BI which takes XML as an input and gives PDF as output with an additional requirement that Siebel expecting the XSD from BI to send data in the BI requested format. Siebel wants to send the data as xml to BI but not sure of the BI capabilities on giving WSDL embedded with XSD (input is a hierarchical)
Hi All,
I am able to fulfil above requirement. Now I am stuck at below point. Need your help!
Is there any way to UPDATE the XML file attached to a Data Definition (XML Publisher > Data Definition) using a standard package or procedure call or may be an API from backend? I am creating an XML dynamically and I want to attach it to its Data Definition programmatically using SQL.
Please let me know if there is any oracle functionality to do this.
If not, please let me know the standard directories on application/database server where the XML files attached to Data Definitions are stored.
For eg, /$APPL_TOP/ar/1.0/sql or something.

Correlation Editor and xsd:dateTime
Hello,
is it possible to use a correlations with the type xsd:dateTime?
I only can choose xsd:date or xsd:time in the correlation editor of the Integration Builder.

Thorsten GawantkaHi,
>is it possible to use a correlations with the type xsd:dateTime?
No as constant you could only choose xsd:date or xsd:time:

UTC Date Time and Normal Date Time
Hi All,
1. How UTC date time and Normal date time differs in siebel.
2. If legacy data needed to be loaded into siebel, in siebel few fields are date time and UTC date time fields. what would happen if we load both normal date time and UTC date time without considering them techinically?
3. UTC date time holds any specific format in physical database? If we want to load legacy data to UTC date time format what is the query to manipulate it?
Thankyou
SeanSean,
Please check document below, I believe it has most of the answers to the questions you have:

Hope it helps,
Wilson -
I have a webservice that returns a date in the yyyy-MM-dd'T'HH:mm:ss.SSSZ format (as far as i know the default Calendar type format) specified by an xsd:dateTime. When i generate a webservice datacontrol on the service i get an entry like <Attribute Name="testDate" IsUpdateable="0" Type="java.util.Date" /> in the datacontrol xml file generated for the service (should that not be a java.util.Calendar type?). When i try to output the value on a jsf page it results in the following error:
oracle.jbo.domain.DataCreationException: JBO-25009: Can not create object of type java.util.Date with value 1994-02-01T00:00:00.000+01:00
As far as i understand adf tries to create a java.util.Date object from the webservice output 'string' which fails. The webservice is a plsql webservice generated with jdeveloper. If i change the type in the datacontrol xml file from java.util.Date to java.lang.String it prints out the entire date string but i would like to keep it a date type to be able to format the output to the dd-MM-yyyy pattern.
Any help or suggestions.....?
Kind Regards,
Andre Jochems
Repost
RepostAndre,
sorry, for not replying earlier - missed this post obviously. I don't know whether or not the behavior you see is correct or a bug - need to investigate this first (or find somebody to invest).
However, as a work around for now you can:
Option 1: bind the UI component to a managed bean that then accesses the binding layer to access the Web Service Data Control. This way you can work with Strings and just create a java.util.Date object for the component using the SimpleDate formatter
Option 2: Use a Web Service proxy and a JavaBean DataControl to access the proxy. This allows pre-processing of the Web Service response, e.g. handling the Date
Note that this is just for possible work around until I find the time to look at this. However, if this is a blocking issue for a production application then I suggest to contact customer support for immediate help

Xsd:dateTime formatting problems
This is driving me nuts. I've been playing around with JAXB and it has worked great so far. Until now.
I have an xml file with this little block
<timestamps>
<created>2000-03-04T20:00:00Z</created>
<last_modified>2003-03-14T02:20:02-05:00</last_modified>
</timestamps>and in my xsd file I have
<xsd:element name="timestamps" type="timestampsType" />
<xsd:complexType name="timestampsType">
<xsd:sequence>
<xsd:element name="created" type="xsd:dateTime" />
<xsd:element name="last_modified" type="xsd:dateTime" />
</xsd:sequence>
</xsd:complexType>Previously I had used just xsd:date instead of xsd:dateTime, and that worked fine, but then I realized that I needed more timing precision so I made the change. I can generate my java files with xjc without any problems. But when I go to unmarshall the xml file with validation on, I always get a complaint about the formatting of my date time values. More specificaly I see:
"com.sun.msv.verifier.ValidityViolation: "2000-03-04T20:00:00Z" does not satisfy the "date" type"
despite the fact that I copied this date directly from the XSD specification page at http://www.w3.org/TR/2001/REC-xmlschema-2-20010502/
And believe me, I've tried about a dozen other variations.... Different dates, with extra milliseconds, with and without the timezone part at the end. I get the same error every time. So what am I doing wrong?Thanks, but unfortunately that did not do the trick. Interestingly enough everything works perfectly, all other things the same, when I let Validation be set to false.

I assume, that application doesn't send UTC time zone in elements Created:dateTime and Expires:dateTime in Username Token.
Is there anything what I can set up on JDeveloper side?
Thanks a lot,
DanielDaniel,
I encountered the same issue, webservice when invoked from ADF web app is working fine but, errors in emulator with the below error.
HTTP Status Code 500 Internal Server Error: The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request.
have you got any update from oracle on this ?
Please do share any work around for this if you have..
Thanks

Catch datetime exception and custom error message in SSRS
I currently working on create report by using SSRS. I have 2 parameters: [Start date] and [End date] to filter data from database and show it on report. I want to validate 2 datetime parameter as describe above. Please tell me a solution to do this.
For example:
When user type the text like: 4/15/2014mmm => System validation thrown a message: [The From Date not correct type]
But in my case, I want to receive a custom error message by myself.(Look like: [Date Invalid!])Hi Brain,
According to your description, you have a report with two parameters for user to input. Now you want to validate these two parameters and display custom error message when the date is invalid. Right?
In Reporting Service, it doesn’t provide any interference for us to modify the system error message (the text in grey color). That means we can’t modify the system message when error occurs. However we can create a textbox in this report, use custom code
and expression to display the custom error message. But this all based on the report is successfully running. So if error occurs during report processing, all the custom code and expression will not work. In this scenario, we find a workaround for you. We
use custom code to judge if the date is valid, if the users type an invalid date, we return a default value to make sure this report can successfully run. Then we use expression to control the visibility of tablix in this report and create a textbox to show
the custom error message. Your case has been tested in our local environment. Here are steps and screenshots for your reference:
Go to Report Properties. Put the code below into custom code:
Public Shared a As Integer=0
Public Shared Function IsDate(d1 As String,d2 As String) as Integer
Try
FormatDateTime(d1)
FormatDateTime(d2)
Catch ex As Exception
a=1
End Try
return a
End Function
Create two parameters. One is StartDate, the other is EndDate. Set the data type of these two parameters Text.
Create a filter for StartDate, put the expression below into Value:
=IIF(Code.IsDate(Parameters!StartDate.Value,Parameters!EndDate.Value)=0,CDate(IIF(Code.IsDate(Parameters!StartDate.Value,Parameters!EndDate.Value)=0,Parameters!StartDate.Value,"1/1/2012")),CDate("1/1/2012"))
Create a filter for EndDate, put the expression below into Value:
=IIF(Code.IsDate(Parameters!StartDate.Value,Parameters!EndDate.Value)=0,CDate(IIF(Code.IsDate(Parameters!StartDate.Value,Parameters!EndDate.Value)=0,Parameters!EndDate.Value,"1/1/2013")),CDate("1/1/2013"))
Ps: In step3 and step4, the date(“1/1/2012”, “1/1/2013”) in the expression are the default we set to make sure the report can successfully process. You can set any date existing in your dataset.
Use the expression below to set the visibility of the tablix:
=IIF(Code.IsDate(Parameters!StartDate.Value,Parameters!EndDate.Value)=0,false,true)
Create a textbox, put the expression below into it:
=IIF(Code.IsDate(Parameters!StartDate.Value,Parameters!EndDate.Value)=0,"","Date invalid")
Save and preview. It looks like below:

Hello Anybody, I have a question. Can any of you please suggest me how to make an xml file from the database table with all the records?
Note:- I am having the XSD Schema file and the resulted XML file should be in that XSD format only.The Oracle documentation has a good overview of the options available
Generating XML Data from the Database
Without knowing your version, I just picked 11.2, so you made need to look for that chapter in the documentation for your version to find applicable information.
You can also find some information in XML DB FAQ -

I am facing a problem with my Date settings on my Mac.

I don't understand how I should interprete this problem and I have done disk verification and repaired permissions via the "Restore Disk" utility which is performed by pressing down the OPTIONS button through a Restart.
Please advise me on this issue.Back up all data if you haven’t already done so. Before proceeding, you must be sure you can restore your system to the state it’s in now.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ If you’re running Mac OS X 10.7 or later, open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the page that opens.
Drag or copy – do not type – the following line into the Terminal window, then press return:
defaults delete -g AppleICUTimeFormatStrings
Log out and log back in. Try to open the Date & Time preference pane. If it opens, recreate your time-format settings.
If the pane still crashes, enter the following command in the same way as before:
rm Library/Preferences/.GlobalPreferences.plist
Log out and log back in again. You'll need to recreate more of your settings in several of the built-in preference panes. -
Get file name and received date & time
Hello experts,
We are loading around 10 source files(xml) on regular basis to Target table. I have to capture source filename & received datetime of those files and status of file whether it loaded successfully or not(I can care take care of status of file). I want to automate this process using BODS and load filename, datetime and status data into one database table.
For you information: File name looks like QAS_Wareneingang_20140328-190006-438. ( from file name ..190006-438 number is random number they are generating) and Date and time is constant for that day eg: 28.03.2014 19:00
Could you please help me...
Thanks & regards
MohanThank you Arun for your kind help...
I found a solution to find and move all related filenames with timestamp to file_names.txt file using the batch script below.
@echo on
cd /D G:\BAUR
dir /n Auslagerung* > G:\Dev_Users\BAUR\file_names.txt
exit
After that I used the above file as source and formatted using query transform in BODS.
