Spry Dataset crashes in Internet Explorer
Set up a basic spry dataset in HTML with Dreamweaver CS4
which works great on Firefox but only displays the column names in
Internet explorer.
Hi, there are a few way to fix this but you could try targeting a css selector on the unordered list the one called:
ul.MenuBarHorizontal
and float it to the right:
.MenuBarHorizontal {
float:right;

The website is http://wwww.bataviabulldogfootball.tkNote that running your page through the W3C Validator gives this list of errors: http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.bataviabulldogfootball.tk%2F&charset=%2 8detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&group=0
I see that you have a very thin doctype at the top. I suggest you create a new page in Dreamweaver and copy the bit at the top of the page:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
Then put that code in place of these lines from your current page:
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
<meta charset="utf-8" />
I see that you have two opening <body> tags. Delete one; it is not needed. Add the preload images from the second into the first body tag and delete the second.
I see code below the closing </html> tag. Re position it before the closing </body> tag.
Because of these errors mentioned above, it was impossible to see the page. Fix and reply here when you have done so.
Also, it is not possible for me to divine what difficulty you are having. If you can please also express it in English (LOL), I'll be happy to suggest a correction for you!
Beth
p.s. Posting entire blocks of code is NEVER as helpful as giving us a link to the pages in action. I seldom read through code dumps here in the Forum.

Spry Menu issues in Internet Explorer
I have created a Spry menu for my website and although the menu appears to look fine in Firefox and Safari, the formatting changes in Internet Explorer(IE).
1.sub menu bar is not dropping down below the main menu bar it is appearing at the top of the screen.
2.When you hover over the sub menu bar items the font should be white however in IE it is appearing as an aqua color.
3.The menu bar is not straight across the page, at the beginning and end there are chunks of the menu bar that appear white.
Are there any fixes for these issues that would help to make the menu look consistent across all browsers. The website page is
www.applmgt.net/LMNtestpage/html, below is the code. Any help would be appreciated as soon as possible.

Flash Player Crashes In Internet Explorer 8&9 While Playing HD YouTube Video
Has anyone else came across this issue? While on YouTube if you try to play a video in HD, it'll play for a second and then crash. This only happens in Internet Explorer. Any suggestions would be helpful. I have tried many things and this is driving me crazy! Thanks in advence for the input.
So after 4 grueling hours of troubleshooting and trying different fixes, we finally solved the issue. Turns out that we were testing an HD YouTube video just to make sure that Flash Player was functioning without any speakers or headphones plugged in. For some reason when there is no audio device plugged in, the YouTube video starts to play regularly and the reverts to HD. As soon as it changes to HD, it'll crash. Simple as that. So, lesson learned and some advice. Always plug in an audio device. At first when I figured this out, I felt stupid. I then realized that it shouldn't matter if speakers are plugged in or not. A YouTube video should play no matter what if Flash is installed. Anyway, this issue was resolved. Thanks for the input everyone.

When loading the page the first time it's not a big problem. But when the users enters some unvalid data the page lodes again and in the onload section from the body the function validateall is startet.
function validateall() {

return 1;
The error occurs again and the validation is not yet done. Which means, that the fields with problems will not be marked. When entering the field afterward and changing or blur everything works ok and the field is marked in red. Only the onload is not working.
Any ideas, what the problem is?

Spry Accordion Problem in Internet Explorer
Hi,
i have created a spry accordion menu in Dreamweaver CS3. My
problem is that when I click in Internet Explorer, small selection
handles appear all round the accordion object. This looks quite
poor then. Any ideas how I can get rid of these?
Thanks.Except for the fact that Spry Accordions are involved, the problem is hardly Spry related.
Having said that, I will try to help you on your way to solving your problem.
The following is a list of my observations
the <div id="wrapper"> on line 74 does not have an ending tag
<div class="right-column" has 35px padding on the right but not on the left. Because IE interprets the so-called box model differntly to other browsers, and because the div is floated right, the left edge of the div will be pushed further to the left than on other browsers. It may be an idea to put at least some of the padding on the left to keep it clear of the divider line
the field set in your contact form is 460px wide, the div surrounding it is only 440px and again IE reacts differntly to other browsers in that it expands the parent to suit the child. Try reducing the width of the fieldset to say 400px. -
Flash Player Crashing on Internet Explorer 8 and Firefox
I downloaded Adobe Flash Player 10 when my computer told me about the new update about two-three weeks ago. It seems like ever since then it has crashed every two hours or so and then my computer has had this problem where the script disapears from both internet engines and the computer icons disapear and it shuts down like it would in a computer from the 1990s (as in instead of the blue screen saying "windows shutting down" it has that little grey bar that says "winodws shutting down").
Whenever I restart it it is fine then another two hours pass by with me using a website like Youtube and the same thing happens. I have tried undownloading it and redownloading it but the same thing keeps happening.
I'm not sure if there is a bug on it or not or if it is my own comp but it seems like whenever I use something that needs flash player for more than two hours the computer goes crazy.
If it helps I am using a Microsoft Windows XP Intel Celeron processor 540 and it is about 4 years old now and everything is up to date on my add ons for firefox and internet explorer and I scanned for viruses and spyware and everything is clean.Hi, I don't think Pat will mind if I pop in with how to turn off the hardware acceleration:-) I'll let him handle the driver issues.
Go to youtube and as soon as the video starts, right click on it and click on Settings and you should see a Display Setting; UNcheck the hardware acceleration.
Hope that helps part of the possible problem.

Spry menu problems with Internet explorer
Hi everyone
I'm having ongoing problems with my horizontal menus and
internet explorer. They work fine in other browsers and with the
generous help of others at these forums I've managed to sort out
most of the problems. But I've hit a real wall with this one. The
menus drop down showing the links OK but you cannot highlight or
click on the options that drop down, they just appear as text. Any
help would be appretiated. My appologies for posting in other
threads also but just hoping for a response.
I am very new to this side of design so simple answers would
be very helpful. Thanks
BobI have 2 similar problems to the prior posts:
1) I run IE7 and FF and the positioning of my submenus are
skewed in IE only.
2) I am not sure, but I believe I have a problem with my
iframe appearing in my IE7 browser behind all of my submenus. Well,
I know I have a problem with something, but whether or not it's the
iframe I don't know. What I do know is that the box shows up like a
border around my submenus and I can't get rid of it. I suspect that
it may be caused by the fact that my menu buttons are imported
gif's in the shape of rounded rectangles which allows for the
corners to be visible. I actually just thought about it and my
gif's are set to have a white index transparency, but maybe If I
export the gifs without transparency, then that issue will be
resolved. Well I will try that part and see, but any and all
suggestions are welcome. Oh and I just remembered, that problem
with the border around my submenus also has another problem with
the word "false" inside of that border behind my submenus. This
problem again is only in my IE browser, and it is hard to see it,
but I have no idea why that is there or what it's from. I ran a
search in my SpryMenuHorizontal.css page and in my html page for
the word 'false' but nothing turned up. The only document related
to this issue that contains the word 'false' is the
'SpryMenuBar.js' document.

Kaspersky save banking module causes Firefox to crash; in Internet Explorer no problem
Problem relates to combination of Pc Win 8.1, using Firefox 34, Kaspersky Internet Security 2015 and Rabo Internet banking. When I use Internet Explorer, utilise the KIS Save Banking Module and log in to the Rabo site, all goes well. When I do the same with Firefox, the browser opens a save window and waits for Rabo to connect. This goes on endless and the Firefox window gives "does not react". The only way of continueing is closing Firefox and start all over again. When I switch of the Save Banking module there is also no problem i.e. that the https site of Rabo works as normal. In earlier releases of KIS the problem never occurred.
Rabo technicians say, that there is no problem with their certificate (which indeed seems not the problem). Kaspersky says that Firefox updates so quickly, that development of compatible add-ons is difficult.
What do I wrong?'''''Kaspersky says that Firefox updates so quickly, that development of compatible add-ons is difficult.'''''
This Rapid Release schedule has been in effect for well over 3 years now ''[started with Firefox 5.0 on June 21, 2011]'' - so it's not "new".
Ask Kaspersky why they even offer add-ons for Firefox if they can't keep up with Firefox updates. ''FWIW, Chrome is on the same type of 6 week update routine that Mozilla uses, but with Chrome their updates are hidden and can install an update without Chrome even being open. Their "updater" runs whenever the PC is running; unlike Firefox which "looks for" updates while Firefox is running.''
Also, Norton / Symantec along with AVG are able to keep up with the Firefox Rapid Release schedule, and Roboform is fairly consistent; ask Kaspersky why "they" say ''and prove'' they are unable to keep up?
IMO, they're selling a product with features that they have no intention of keeping updated properly or in a timely manner. ''And I wonder how the US boycott of their home country's economy might be impacting their updates.''

Windows Explorer Crash if Internet Explorer Downloads run
Hi,
one Bug i discovered in the TP Build 9879:
Longer Internet Explorer Downloads are running (some GBs), then after some time the Clock and Notification Icons disappear. If i'm trying to start the Windows Explorer it hangs up and also strange parts appear on the desktop. If i restart then the Windows
Explorer through Task Manager all seems be working again until after some minutes the same problem returns.
Can you see same problems?
Thanks.

There are several long threads about this and has been widely reported. It
isn't just IE downloads, it happens whenever an icon in the taskbar
displays a progress bar. There is no fix yet beyond killing and restarting
explorer.exe.

Flash Player OCX Crash in Internet Explorer
Hi,
I develop e-Learning and this is predominantly displayed in Flash. I have developed a flash engine that handles and interpretes XML for displaying the content. All works well...most of the time
However more often than I would like there is a serious enough crash (I.E. Error Flash.OCX) that will stop the browser dead and shut it down. Now my issue at this stage is not so much why it happens but more how can I report it to Adobe and get some support in order for me to investigate if the problem is in my engine?
Can I get an official response on the steps I should take please?
Thank youWhat exactly means "not working"?

Problems with Vertical Spry menu bar in Internet Explora
Hi I'm new to Dreamweaver,
I having trouble with a new site I'm making in CS4. A problem with a vertical menu bar, in IE. Can anyone help?
1. The text is left aligned and should be centered.
2. The menu bar has moved left
3. My paragraph text has moved up the page and aligned itself to the to the menu bar.
Website address: http://www.greenwyse.co.uk/
I'm finding dreamweaver a bit clunky, reading the 'Missing Manual' but still very frustrating. Any one have any idea's/
cheers
myquirkSorry, but your CSS is has been mangled beyound recognition.
The solution is to start with an untouched style sheet. Then add or modify the CSS testing in your browsers as you make the changes.
Have a look at the following where I have positioned the menu. All that is now required is the styling for font and the hover event.
<!doctype html>

Spry:repeat vs. Internet Explore 7.0
Hi,
I've made a very simple example with the Spry Framework -
using the Spry.repeat
The example works fine in Fixefox, but IE 7.0 won't display
the data (no error message)
HTML-file
http://www.mg04.dk/clausreiss/test_xml.html
XML-file
http://www.mg04.dk/clausreiss/data/cafetownsend.xml
What is wrong? -Please help me!
jsnedkerEverything works fine for me "as is" if I run it from my own
http server. You might want to look into the Content-Type your
server is sending for the XML file:
Content-Length 681
Content-Type application/octet-stream
Last-Modified Tue, 08 Jan 2008 19:46:46 GMT
Accept-Ranges bytes
Etag "989c0342f52c81:18c96b"
Server Microsoft-IIS/6.0
X-Powered-By --InsPanel--
http://www.inspanel.com,
ASP.NET
MicrosoftOfficeWebServer 5.0_Pub
Date Tue, 08 Jan 2008 21:15:16 GMT
The content-type should be either "text/xml" or
"application/xml" for XML files.

Weird Spry Submenu Effect in Internet Explorer
It looks like the first category item of a Spry submenu is stretching vertically to the same length of the Spry sub sub menu to the right. It works fine in Safari and Firefox. It is only doing this in IE 8 on a pc
Any idea why this might be happening?
Go here to see a photo of it.

To check out the site itself, go here

Thank you!I am not sure if the following is the cause of the problem but try it.
/* HACK FOR IE: to stabilize appearance of menu items; the slash in float is to keep IE 5.0 from parsing */
@media screen, projection
ul.MenuBarHorizontal li.MenuBarItemIE
display: inline;
f\loat: left;
ul.MenuBarHorizontal ul li.MenuBarItemIE
display: inline;
f\loat: left;
The second set of rules should be deleted.
I hope this helps.
