Spry formatting help

I just made a 4 item Spry menu for a website I am building. I can't seem to get it to format properly.
2 of the items have sub menus, but the pop-down portion of the sub menus isn't as wide as the main menu it pops down from. I have changed the sizes in sprybarHorizontal ul li or whatever and it will no look any different.
Also, as the length of the items in terms of the letters spelling out the item for example Home or Publications how can I get the items spaced out in terms of the actual text width and not some overall width, because it looks bad of there isn't the same amout of space inbetween the items, like:
Home Research Publications Contact
Those are the menu items and they are spaced out in terms of the space they are in but not how wide they actually are if you know what I mean.
Please help me with this. I am not even a computer science major I am a chemical engineer and I am being asked to do stuff that I am not qualified for.

XML formating help Please

Hi Everyone,
I'm new to XML and hoping someone can help me. XML seems pretty straightforward, so I'm not sure why I can't get my head around this.
Here's what I need.
I'm building a webpage in Dreamweaver using Spry that will have a list of all 50 U.S. states. When you click on a state, it will populate a side area with 2 or 3 cities from that particular state along with a phone number for each city.
Can anyone give me a small sample of how the formating would be for this?
I'd really appreciate any help you can give.

I'm having problems with the Spry Widgets, Help!

I'm using Dreamweaver CS6 and Have installed it twice, to no avail. When I try to insert any of the spry widgets, I get the HTML code for the widget but none of the javascript or css code and I cannot figure out why. Also, The Spryassets folder never get created. Is there anyone that help me figure out what I might be doing wrong. If all you got is "Spry is no good, use Javascript", then don't bother responding. All other useful suggestions are greatly appreaciated,

You can reload your purchased music/apps/video from the cloud. However, you will need to restore your iPad and since you don't have a backup all data and unpurchased content will be lost.

Date Format Help: DD-MON-YY

Good Day.
I would like to seek your help regarding my inquiry on the PL/SQL script output that I am trying to create.
Please see below output of my script:
L7,CU4450278,70X1W01AGA-ASY,11813,20-6æ -13,0
L7,CU4464442,747X32VH9015-ASY,3394,20-6æ -13,0
L7,CU4464766,747X22VH9015-ASY,3383,21-6æ -13,0
As you can see in the CSV output, the date has some invalid value, the "6æ " should have been Jun (i.e. Short Month format of June).
My script has this code for date dbms_output to_char(startplan_rec.str_startdate,'DD-MON-YY')
The startplan_rec.str_startdate data type is date.
I have tried querying the same table in the oracle sql developer, but i am getting the correct output (e.g. 20-Jun-13).
Please help me on having my desired date format output on my pl/sql. Why is my date output on my script incorrect?

I am a designer and not a Java programmer - don't hate me - and i am using a small calendar applet on a web page. This has color configured from javascript parameters as follows:

int b = 0x000000ff;
where r=255, g=255, b=255 this case, but if
long r = 0x00ff0000;

which give you r=16711680, g=65280, b=255....make sense?

Import file name - want to go back to 2008-02-22 format HELP!

iphoto 06 imported photos into a date formatted file such as 2008-02-22. iphoto 08 makes this -February 22, 2008. I need help in just returning to the original date format as a default process.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. What file are you referring to? Where are you seeing this date? When iPhoto 6 imports a photo the file name renames the same, whatever it was before. Am I missing something here?
Are you referring to renaming of photos from within iPhoto with the Batch Rename feature? Then go into the System Preferences/International/Formats pane and click on Customize button. There you can reset the short, medium or long date to the YYYY-MM-DD format. Then select the sort, medium or long date in the iPhoto Batch Change window and you'll get what you want.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

PSE 7 Crashes when outputing to any format - Help!

I have used the program (PSE 7) on the same machine for the past 2 years with limited issues - have always been able to restart the workstation and program and get my slide show outputed to the desired format. I am expereincing the same issue again this year, but no matter how many time I restart the program crashes at random times when outputing. May crash right away or at any different percentage of completion during the output process.
Do I reinstall on the same machine? If so, will I be able to recover all fo the work I have done?
Do I upgrade to the newer version? Will I have the same issue?
Shoudl I try to down load the trial version first? Not sure if it over writes the current version and if I would lose anything?

Uninstalling and reinstalling will not affect your existing catalog, nor saved slideshow projects. If you also use Premiere Elements note that PRE video projects no longer appear in the organizer, although they can still be opened directly in PRE.

Yes, install the trial. Multiple version of PSE can coexist. When installing a later version of PSE I always make a copy of the catalog from my previous version and convert that rather than the original.

all i can think of is to hold home and power for 30 seconds in the meantime of showing the apple sign at least once or twice.
either that, home and power flashes once and 1/2 sec later release power while holding home still and plug it in wihout trying to let go the home button. dont even let go until itunes says somthing remotly saying anything ...lol

I'm having problems trying to format the output of one of my queries. I'm new to SQL and I consider my writing the query a HUGE win.... but I can't seem to get the correct output format.
Per the code below, it is outputting the Last Name (lname) of the employee, a count of what I want, and the overall rank. I would like to concatenate the employee number (emp#) the first (fname) and last name (lname) together into the same column in the output.
The concatenation code would be something like the below.
Desired concatenation:
emp# || ' - ' || lname || ', ' || fname AS EMPLOYEE
I'm using Oracle 11g Express. Please let me know if you need any supporting information to assist you.

Whenever you have a problem, post a little sample data (CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements, relevant columns only) for all the tables involved, and the results you want from that data.
Explain, using specific examples, how you get those results from that data.
Always say what version of Oracle you're using (e.g. 11.2.0.2.0).

It looks like you've found the right way to concatenate the columns. How to use that in your query depends on your data, and what you want the query to do with that data.
If you GROUP BY lname, what do you want the concatenated value to be when different rows having the same lname have different fnames and/or emp#s?
Do you want to GROUP BY the new concatenated employee instead of lname?

FrameMaker update book icon not updating and custom formatting help

I am fairly new to FrameMaker, and I am currently experiencing two issues:
First Issue
I am currently trying to create a book that currently has three chapters. I am trying to break it out into the following format:
Main TOC - includes all the headers and related pages for the entire book
Mini TOC - includes a mini TOC that highlights all the headers and pages associated with Chapter Source File A
Chapter Source File A - includes all related content to Chapter Source File A
Mini TOC - includes a mini TOC that highlights all the headers and pages associated with Chapter Source File B
Chapter Source File B - includes all related content to Chapter Source File B
Mini TOC - includes a mini TOC that highlights all the headers and pages associated with Chapter Source File C
Chapter Source File C - includes all related content to Chapter Source File C
Whenever I click the Update Book icon, however, it does not update the headers and page numbers. They still remain the same way when I first generated them. This occurs for both the main TOC and mini TOC.
Second Issue
In addition to the format structure I designed for my book, I also wanted to create a custom format look that remains constant whenever I update my TOC. I have tried testing this, but I noticed every time I generate a new TOC it is always in the unformatted FrameMaker style which you have reformat each time.
Is there a way to create a custom format look that can retain the design and simply update the TOC headers and page numbers each time it needs to be updated?

First I'd highly recommend getting Matt Sullivan's Publishing Fundamentals: Unstructured FM11 book - it's a pretty complete reference one to have on FM.
Second, it sounds like you may not have your ToC reference pages set up correctly - if nothing changes when you've added content that should have created more ToC headings and shift pages around, then something is amiss. Your formatting problem is solved by doing a bit of a dodge - you create a ToC and generate it, then replace it with your formatted .fm doc keeping the exact name as the generated doc; then update again. Now the content is formatted the way you want and keeps being updated each time you update.

Spry Alerts Help

I have a page that is tabbed. The tabs are embeded in a form. The problem i am having is that i am using spry to validate the fields and as we know the alerts apear under the field. Well since i have differet form fields in different tabs, the user can't see the alerts if the alert is in the 2 or 3 tab. Is there anyway to get the alerts to show up in a different location like next to the submit button instead of under the field. Again because i have field on different tabs there is no way for a user to know why the form isn't submitting unless they check all the tabs. Thanks for any help.

Spry Bar Help

Original Question:
We use CS3 and have created a school website using the sprybar in Dreamweaver as our navigation bar. We have uploaded the spry assets folder and everything works great except for when we make changes to the sprybar, such as adding links. Currently, we have to update the navigation bar by copying the html and then opening and pasting the html into every page in the site, which is more than 100 pages. How do we make the sprybar automatically update whenever we make edits or changes to the sprybar?
We have tried creating the sprybar as a library item and it doesn't work unless it's a problem with Dreamweaver on the local computer communicating with the file on the server. We have played around with using the "include file" command.
As the site continues to get larger, this gets to be a much bigger problem. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Ok, so we tried doing what was in the above tutorial. It all looks good on the dreamweaver side (I think...the spry bar doesn't show but it is replaced with a php icon). Is there something that needs to be done on the server side? Someone told me the server needed to be "activated" for php. What does this mean?
If php is not an option for us, is there another way to solve this issue?

Sorry, not sure what this issue is, but you should try asking
in the Spry forums:

Also, just because you can't install the Spry updater
extension doesn't mean that you can't use the updated Spry files
(which may even help resolve the issue). Get the latest versions of
the files here:

Open the Download zip file and look for the widgets/menubar
folder, it'll contain the latest .js and .css files. The default
1.6.1 files in that package work in IE7, so it may be the specific
CSS that you're using for your page. SO you may want to rebuild
from the latest .js and .css files and apply your styling changes
and test while your doing that.
