Spry tabs in accordion overflow in ie7

I am trying to nest tab panels into accordion panels and it
works great in safari and firefox, however in ie7 the tabs are
overflowing the closed accordion panels. I have tried setting
overflow:hidden on the accordion content div and that did not help.
It acts like a float clearing issue, yet I can figure out at what
level to clear it. I was wondering if anyone had tried to do this.
In the end I can set events to display or not onClick but was
hoping for a css solution as that seems to be where the problem is.
you can see a sample at

Thank you in advance for any ideas.

Hi Ronald,
Place the constructor withing the Spry region as follows
      <div spry:region="dsGrade5" >
          <div id="Accordion1" class="Accordion" tabindex="0">
            <div spry:repeat="dsGrade5" class="AccordionPanel">
            <div class="AccordionPanelTab">{@name}</div>
            <div class="AccordionPanelContent">{summary}</div>
          </div>
          <script>
               var Accordion1 = new Spry.Widget.Accordion("Accordion1");
          </script>
        </div>
      </div>
I hope this helps.

  • Spry Data in Accordion in Tabs

    Hi
    I have been able to get xml spry data to work in an accordion and I have been able to get an accordion to work in tabs but I cannot get the data to work in an accordion that is in a tab -- the accordion panels do not collapse. I have a sample testing site at http://testing.bellamys.org that has two tabs -- the first tab has spry data in an accordion but the panels do not collapse. The second tab shows an accordion working properly but uses hard coded data.
    I have a database that will export xml files for courses for different grades. I would like to have all the courses for a grade displayed in a panel and have each grade set in a tab. Any help would be greatly appreciated .

  • Spry Tabbed Panels overwritting popup menu in IE6 and IE7 but display fine in Firefox

    I am new to Spry and Dreamweaver CS3 and would appreciate any
    help anyone can give. I am having an issue with Spry Tabbed Panels
    appearing above a navigation bar pop up menu only in IE6 and IE7.
    Everyhting works like expected in FF. I have several product pages
    that are exhibiting the same issue. I am not having this issue when
    using Spry Accordian. Would someone be able to educate me on what I
    can do to fix this problem. One of the product pages that is
    exhibiting this problem is
    Page
    with display issue

    The IE browsers implement z-indexing differently than most
    browsers ... specifically, IE browsers establish a new z-index
    context if you set the position CSS property of an element to
    anything other than static.
    What this means is that if you set something to
    position:relative ... any z-index values of children inside that
    element will be relative to that element.
    In your case, you seem to have a position relative on your
    div FWTableContainer1966866324. If you set the z-index value to
    something like 10, you'll notice that it fixes the problem.

  • Help me control Spry Tabs or Spry Accordion width

    I am using Spry Tabs and Spry Accordions in Liquid pages, inside a DIV with ID.
    I use an external CSS stytle sheet to control this ID and properly position the Spry Tabs or Spry Accordions inside the page.
    I would like to have these Tabs or Accordions panels filling the page with a 10px margin on both sides.
    I tried many CSS properties to have the DIV ID position the panel with both 10px margins...
    If I use a 100% width, the panel overshoots the width of the page by about 10 to 20 pixels.
    Using a 0px position and a 10px border on the right does not work.
    The only solution I found is using a 98% width (box and position), but it varies on larger screens...
    I am using Dreamweaver CS 5.5 on a Mac Pro.
    There must be some CSS trick that I don't know... But CSS should also be easier to use...

  • Spry tabbed panels as menu system

    Hi,
    This is actually for Dreamweaver CS6.    What I'm trying to do is use spry tabbed panels as horizontal my menu system.    I want to have basically the functionality of the adobe.com menu system where the drop downs are tabbed and the content box size varies depending on the tab and the content box moves it's position relative to the tab that's selected.     I did manage to get the mouseover working so the tab's change according to which tab the mouse passes over.
    My current problems are these:
    I managed to change the content panel box size so it's not the same width as the full panel tab group however I cannot get it to move relative to which tab is selected, it just stays fixed in one location.
    The content tabs are pushing the body of my page down instead of showing up over top of it which is obvioulsy not very condusive for a menu system.
    I would like the default to show none of the panels until someone mouseover's one of the tab's and for the panels to dissapear when the mouse is not in the menu system.
    For something similar to the adobe.com menu system am i using the right feature (it looks like tabbed panels to me) or should I be using a different spry feature, I would like to have text and an image in the content box under each tab just for overall effect.
    I'm quite inexperienced with CSS and Javascripting and have basically gotten this far with trial and error modifying the CSS settings but I'm unable to modify the javascript on my own.
    Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

    As for your experiment, to prevent the "drop" reduce the spry CSS padding in line 76 selector from  21px to 18px.

  • Spry tabbed panles default hide

    Hello,
    Im with some problems with the spry content tab. What I need is to:
    as default hide the content of the spry tabbed panels and also hide on mouse out
    please advise if you needto check my codes and site
    thanks

    I see that time has passed and you have not gotten a response to your question.
    What exactly is to be hidden when the mouse is not hovering; what is to be showing when the mouse IS hovering?
    It is possible that the solution will not be to use Spry Tabbed Panels, which would require a lot of adapting.
    For a simple solution, if you don't mind the "contents" to be lined up next to each other, float divs next to each other. Set a height that encompasses your title but make the overflow: hidden. Add a css style that makes overflow: visible;
    Here is some simple code for that:
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
    <title>Untitled Document</title>
    <style type="text/css">
    .change {
              float: left;
              height: 2.5em;
              width: 100px;
              overflow: hidden;
    .change:hover {
              overflow: visible;
    </style>
    </head>
    <body><div class="change"><h3>Title</h3>
    <p>Here is a basic element</p></div>
    <div class="change"><h3>Title</h3>
    <p>Here is a basic element</p></div>
    <div class="change"><h3>Title</h3>
    <p>Here is a basic element</p></div>
    <div class="change"><h3>Title</h3>
    <p>Here is a basic element</p></div></body>
    </html>
    I fiddled around a bit with the tabbed panels, but couldn't find an easy way to make them appear and disappear on hover.
    Your other possibility is to do disjoint rollovers using the Show-Hide behavior, but it seems difficult to have the "content" start out invisible.
    I hope you have solved the problem by now, or that these suggestions give you some ideas.

  • Spry tabbed panels - Different Hover Class for each tab

    Already posted this in the general Dreamweaver section, but just realized there was a specific Spry section. So, my apologies for the repost.
    I'm setting up spry tabbed panels, and I'm wanting to use an image for each tab, with the text already on it. I've figured this much out by creating a different class for each in the spry tabbed panel css.
    However, I'd also like to have a second hover image for each tab. I'm having trouble figuring out how to set up separate classes for each tab's hover state.
    Any help?
    Thanks.

    Just in case you did not notice the announce at the top of this forum's main page, I have copied it here.
    Announcement: New to Spry, or  the Spry forums?
    Hide Details
    Before you post a topic please verify  that:
    You  are using the latest Spry files
    The latest version of  the Adobe Spry Framework is 1.6.1, this is the same version that ships  with Dreamweaver CS4. If you use Dreamweaver CS3 (uses Spry 1.4), its  wise to upgrade your files to the latest version. This can easily be  done using the Spry Updater that can be found here.
    Your  question was not asked before
    Using the search  functionality on forums you can easily find out if your question has  been answered before. While you are in search, you can specify the  search locations. The Spry forum can be found under:
    Adobe  Labs > Spry Framework for Ajax
    Yoru question can not be  found in the existing documentation
    Spry provides you  with allot of documentation this can found on different locations. In  the sidebar of this forum you can find a small summary of resources that  will help you on your way.
    If these options do not apply to your question,  please be so kind to also supply the following information in your topic  together with a clear description of your issue:
    What  browsers does this issue occure:

    example: Spry 1.6.1 ( the version number can  be found in license header of the .css and .js files )
    What  is the url of your website or page in issue:
    example: http://www.example.com/page/in/issue.html
    Step  to reproduce the issue:
    example: Scroll down till you find the  header "help", there you will see a Spry Accordion. When you click on it  it will not open or close.
    So users can provide you with a  better answer, without having to ask you for further details.

    Actually, I do remember posting that, and have updated it with what worked for me. However, I could not recall posting it in a specific ajax spry forum, so I assumed I just posted in the general forum. Hence the current situation.

    Assuming these are the images you're trying to display:
    .TabbedPanelsTabHover {
              background-image: url(../../SUPEROLDU/images/menubaractive.png);
              background-repeat: repeat-x;
              color: #FFF;

              background-image: url(../../SUPEROLDU/images/menubaractive.png);
              background-repeat: repeat-x;
              color: #FFF;
              height: 30px;
              width: 116px;
    You have 2 root paths in your URL code. I think this is how your file structure looks like on your local computer. However, on a remote server, ../ by itself means you're pointing to the root folder of your website. Your URL linkage should be corrected based on the relativity and your background will work without a problem.

  • Spry Tabbed Panels overwritting Flash drop down menu in IE

    I am having an issue with Spry Tabbed Panels appearing above

    fix this problem. The page that is exhibiting this problem is

    I’ve tried adding “WMODE” to my flash menu,
    also updated “SpryTabbedPanels.js to version 0.5 –

    helping…….

    Thank you very much for the suggestion. Yes, this is how I

    I’ve been tried setting Z-index to from 50 to 2000 in

  • Firefox - Spry tabbed panel issue

    Hi, need a little trouble shooting help here.
    This works fine in ie7 but not Firefox 2 or 3. The Spry
    Tabbed Panel just looks like an ordinary unordered list but it's
    still clickable.
    I've placed the script in the header and the css is imported
    in the main style sheet.
    The live site is here:
    www.precisionhomesanddesign.com
    Thanks to all who take a moment to look into this.

    Cory,
    I copied and pasted your code into a new document locally and
    then attached the JavaScript and CSS files for the Tabbed panels
    and it styled and worked correctly for me. I then noticed that your
    live page you have the Spry CSS files imported into your mainStyler
    using the following syntax:
    @import url ("../includes/SpryTabbedPanels.css");
    I tried similar syntax using Dreamweaver to link in the css
    file into an attached CSS file and it created code like this:
    @import url("../SpryAssets/SpryTabbedPanels.css");
    and it then began to work. It took a while, but it finally
    struck me that there is a space between url and ( in your code and
    none in the code I had created. So I added a space to my code and
    then the styling broke, removed it and the styling came back. So
    try removing the space (probably for all 3 @imported files) and see
    how that works out for you.

  • Link to spry tab or accorion not working

    I have gone to http://foundationphp.com/tutorials/spry_url_utils.php by Mr.Powers (great suff by the way!) and tried using the code in the tutorial just as described to create links to non-default tabs or accordions on other pages but not having any luck. The link takes me to the page, but not the target tab or accordion - whichever I try.
    Also, once I change the scrip code at the bottom of the page, it causes the tab or accordion panels to display as a continuation down the page, not contained within the element. As if a div tag were left out or something.
    First I copied SpryURLUtils.js from the Spry 1.6 release into the SpryAssets folder.
    (The 2 pages shown here are working test pages within my site for an accordion panel link).
    Here are the locations and code I entered into this page ( www.wilsonchiropractic.net/Research/Copy_CurrentLit.html )
    for a link to the bottom unopened (H1N1...) accordion panel:
    At the end of the head section:
    <script type="text/javascript" src="SpryAssets/SpryURLUtils.js"></script>
    <script type="text/javascript"> var params = Spry.Utils.getLocationParamsAsObject(); </script>
    Then at the end of the page withing the script tags, I modified the Accordion1 variable identifier to:
    var Accordion1 = new Spry.Widget.Accordion("Accordion1", {defaultPanel: params.panel ? params.panel: 0});
    (this is the code that makes the entire panel set, accordion or tabs, to continue out of the panel container).
    Lastly this is the link from the starting page - ( http://www.wilsonchiropractic.net/LinkTest.html ):
    <a href="http://www.wilsonchiropractic.net/Research/Copy_CurrentLit.html?Panel=1#Addordion1">test link to research panel</a>
    There are a number of other links to tabs or other accordions I need to create. I would assume if I can get this coding figured out, I can get the others to work.
    Please Help!! Thank you!! --Jeff

    One obvious problem is this:
    <link href="../SpryAssets/SpryAccordion2.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
    <script type="text/javascript" src="SpryAssets/SpryURLUtils.js"></script>
    The link to SpryURLUtils.js is pointing to the wrong location. It should be this:
    <script type="text/javascript" src="../SpryAssets/SpryURLUtils.js"></script>
