SQL Developer 2.1 removes the stored password in SVN Application Data

Hello everybody
SQL Developer is a great Tool and I use it together with the SVN Versioning System. I also use TortoiseSVN on my Windows XP Operating System, that's why I found out that either the SQL Developer or its SVN Extension has a bug.
I have installed the latest SQL Developer 2.1.0.63.73 and the extension "*Versioning Support for Subversion* 11.1.1.2.36.55.30".
Both Tools the SVN Extension for SQL Developer and the TortoiseSVN save Authentification Data automatically in the same Folder "C:\Documents and Settings\UserXYZ\Application Data\Subversion\auth\svn.simple\" into some Files.
When I use TortoiseSVN, the password can be stored in those mentioned Files. That's very useful, so I don't have to enter my password every time I perform a SVN command. But when I later use SQL Developer and update/commit some file, the password will be removed from the above mentioned Files, even though my Password is stored in the SQL Developer's Subversion Navigator inside the Connection Setup of my Repository.
I would be happy to get some feedback from your point of view. Are there other people who have the same problem?
I turned already to google, but I haven't found a hint that it could be something you can configure in some properties.
Thanks in advance,
Ben

In the meantime I found the solution:
just add those two lines to the *%appdata%\Subversion\config* File
store-auth-creds = no
store-passwords = yes
It looks like the SVN Extension in SQL Developer has different Default Values for the properties than TortoiseSVN has.

  • Why is the stored password pop-over window so massive, so irritating, and how the @#$%#$% do I get rid of it?

Ok, so FF just updated itself to the new version. It appears Mozilla has done everything possible to add all the annoyances of the Internet Explorer interface to FF.
My issue is the stored password popup. It's massive. It blocks the page view, and I can't ignore it easily like the older style that just slid a small button, unobtrusively, in the corner.
This is just another irritation in addition to the completely uncalled for removal of the status bar (no I'm not going to install another plugin to "fix" it), and the sudden change to the order of some contextual menu items (open new tab/window are reversed. wtf?)

Try signing out and then back in again by going into Settings>Store>Apple ID:>Sign Out>

  • Operation cancelled on SQL Developer still running on the DB

Using either the SQL Developer 2.1.1.64.39 or .64.45 versions when a DML statement (e.g. SELECT, DELETE, etc.) is executed and few seconds after cancelled before it finishs, the SQL Dev IDE shows as the operationwas cancelled, but it still running at the database level.
If you try to close the SQL Developer to cancell the operation, you will get a "Connection is currenly busy. Try again?", but you can only chose Abort and wait.
    Regards,
    ASCh

SQL Developer is certainly not just cancelling statements in the user interface - I can cancel a query that normally takes two minutes to run after five seconds and then immediately run a different query in the same connection and get the results (ie the cancelled query is no longer running in the database).
You are probably seeing the difference between the UI no longer waiting for the statement to complete and the statement actually completing in the database. Especially with DML the database needs to clean up from the cancelled statement, rolling back changes already made by the statement before it was cancelled. Even selects can allocate temporary space for sorting which would need to be cleaned up on cancelling the select.
I would not expect closing SQL Developer to do anything more to cancel the statement in the database than it has already done - SQL Developer has already told the database to cancel the statement and it is just taking some time for the database clean up after the cancelled statement.

  • Remove the 'Master Password'

I've searched to see if this topic has been raised in the forums, but I am unable to locate a similar question - which I find amazing.
Once the Master Password has been set, the only option via the 'File Vault' area is to change the password. I am keen to find out if it is possible to 'Remove the Master Password' once it has been set. And by remove I mean to have it set to 'No Password'
File Vault is not active/set, but Master Password is.
    Can anyone help?

to remove the master password go to /Library/Keychains (that's the Library at the top level of the drive) and delete the files FileVaultMaster.cer and
FileVaultMaster.keychain. that's it. note that this change will not effect any existing filevault accounts. meaning that if you create a new master password after that it will not work on already existing filevault accounts.

    Hello everybody!
Notebook is my HP Compaq 6520s. I set the BIOS password, but now I have forgotten it. How can I remove the password now?
    Thanks everyone!

I do not know what decade the last replier is from but is most apparent that they can not read the written word... the first person said, that they had a laptop not a desktop...  Most laptops that are under eight years old do not have pins to reset the bios...    Everything that the replier stated might work on a desktop computer to reset the password.. but since laptops are to easy to steal the companies have made it more difficult to enter the bios and change things when they are password... There are three ways to remove the forgotten password    1 remember it    2 call Hp to get the backdoor password  3  replace the motherboard.. that is it... most of the bios clearing programs are made for dos and will not work with windows above windows 98... xp vista and 7 are NT and will not allow access to the bios..........

  • SQL Developer 1.5.4.59.40 doesn't display any data or only nulls

    Hi All,
I've got a problem with SQL Developer after I downloaded the latest version *1.5.4.59.40*. SQLDev doesn't display any data or displays only few lines of nulls within information tabs: Column, DATA, Constraints, Grants, Stats, triggers and so on....
Please see below screen shoots for details:
    And exception scratch:
    Note:
When I'm using an old version 1.5.0.51 everything works fine. But you know I would like to upgrade to the latest build.
    Many Thanks for any help.
    Cheers!!

The problem is solved by upgrading an oracle client_1 to 11g version,
Apparently these are the files which have caused the problem in old version of the oracle client (10.2.0..):
SQL Developer is using client's libs by default when it's installed for ex.:
    jdbc.driver.home     /D:/oracle/product/10.2.0/client_1/
    jdbc.library     /D:/oracle/product/10.2.0/client_1/jdbc/lib/ojdbc5.jar
    AND:
    orai18n.library     /D:/oracle/product/10.2.0/client_1/jlib/orai18n.jar
above libs are not compatible with the latest version of SQLDeveloper.
    That's why the problem occurs.
    Jim,
thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Cheers mate!!

  • I want to remove the COnlineBank, OnlineBank and csample applications from my application and web server.

How can I safely do this on Solaris? I've tried "iasdeploy removeapp" and "iasdeploy removemodule" with no luck. I want to clear all of this demo stuff out to make both the web and app server look more production like.
    Thanks

    Eric,
these applications are applogics which are not controlled by the
iasdeploy tool. Unfortunately, there is no tool available to remove
these applications for you. What you can do is to manually remove all
their entries, but be careful if you do that. If you remove the wrong
keys you might break your ias installation, so be warned and make sure
you backup the whole ias registry before attempting to remove anything.

  • Sql Developer not connecting to the DB

    Hi
I have latest Oracle Sql Developer 3.2.1 installed, and I cannot connect to database Oracle 11g Enterprise Edition.. I typed correct SID, port number, user and password and it won't connect saying: "The Network Adapter could not establish the connection. Vendor code: 17002"
Strangely I am able to ping and telnet to the Database machine with the DB port
    ping <hostname> got reply
    telnet <hostname> <port> got connected.
The TNS Listener of the Database is up as I am able to connect to the DB from another computer.
Do we need to setup anything extra to connect to a DB?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
Item 4 in the following relies on my Windows 7 environment variables. Did you also try...
    1. lsnrctl status
    2. lsnrctl services
    3. tnsping <tnsalias>
    4. sqlplus sys/<pswd>@//%COMPUTERNAME%:<port>/<sid>.%USERDNSDOMAIN% as sysdba
The syntax in (4) requires specification of the SERVICE_NAME rather than the SID.
My fully qualified SERVICE_NAME happens to be <sid>.%USERDNSDOMAIN%
My fully qualified hostname is %COMPUTERNAME%.%USERDNSDOMAIN%, but %COMPUTERNAME% also works for me.
See if using the literal values of these variables in the SQL Developer connection definition helps.

  • SQL Developer is not exporting the time part of date data types.

I need to export data from a table using sql developer. The column is a date data type but when I export the data to a csv, xls or an sql file with insert statements, sql developer only includes the date part without the time.
    Please kindly advise.

  • SQL Developer 3.0 error: The parameter is incorrect

I am running a virtualized the SQL Developer 3.0 on windows XP. Today I noticed that there was an error when I created a connection profile.
    Source: oracle.dbtools.raptor.navigator.folders.DatabasesFilter
    Message: The parameter is incorrect
Despite of the error, I was able to connect to the target database and had no problem with any database operations. The newly added connections were not saved upon exit. Any idea?

In another post on a different subject, Gravenstein posted the following:
<quote>There aren't very many files that RoboSource Control excludes. Let's see, a quick tally of my RH6 webhelp project shows the following to be excluded:
    * projectname.cpd
    * projectname.pss
    * projectname.hhp
    * projectname.trl
    * ehlpdhtm.js
That's not very many, but the consequences of adding them to RSC are severe--things get very messed up, very fast. That's why I always let RH control the upload into RSC. Not an option if you're not using RSC, I realize.
    </quote>
I don't work with source control but I would imagine that list applies to other source control programs and to RH8.

  • Install Oracle XE, SQL Developer, and Toad on the same machine?

I have been trying to install Oracle SQL Developer, Toad, and Oracle Express on my work computer. Installing SQL Developer and Toad was pretty straightforward, and I was able to browse the XE database with SQL Developer. But after installing Toad, problems started. Toad was using Oracle XE's registry settings to locate ORACLE_HOME and oci.dll. So I tried changing the settings for Oracle XE in the registry. Toad now works, but not Oracle XE. And while I was going through this all, I even had a time when I had Toad and oracle xe working, but not SQL Developer. It almost looks like you can choose two of the products, but not all three.
So, my question to the community at large is "Can it be done?". In what directories do you have each product installed? What environment variables do you have set? Where is your tnsnames.ora? What Oracle registry settings do you have set (namely HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\ORACLE\KEY_XE)?
I can post my current settings, but I've been through so many iterations that these current settings don't really matter that much.
Here are the details I am looking for
    Path to sqldeveloper.exe
Path to oracle.exe (for Oracle XE)
    Environment Variables
    ORACLE_HOME
    ORACLE_BASE
    TNS_ADMIN
    PATH (just the oracle stuff)
    Registry Settings
    HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\ORACLE\KEY_XE\ORACLE_HOME
    HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\ORACLE\KEY_XE\ORACLE_BASE
    HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\ORACLE\KEY_XE\TNS_ADMIN
    HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\ORACLE\KEY_XE\OLEDB
    HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\ORACLE\KEY_XE\ORAMTS_CP_TRACE_DIR

I don't use toad, but there should be no reason why you can't install all 3. SQL Developer is a very clean install and affects nothing else. It doesn't add to the path, or create any registry entries except for file associations.
A toad installation should pick up your oracle client (in this case the XE code). I am curious as to why you felt you had to change registry settings. What problem were you trying to fix?
My recommendation would be to uninstall everything, clean the registry and reinstall in the order XE, Toad, SQL Developer. Test in between installations and seek help for problems as you find them. Bear in mind that this is the forum for SQL Developer. QUestions about Oracle XE would be better answered in the dedicated forum, or in the Installation forum, and questions about Toad in a toad forum.

  • SQL developer not installed with the client software

    Hi All,
    OS: Windows
    Clinet: 11g 64 bit
I have installed oracle client for windows 64 bit, as we know with client installation the sql developer also comes with. But in my case, I am able to find every other component but sql developer.
I am thninking of downloading the same from Oracle site, is there a alternate way for the same?
    Regards,
    Sphinx

    What, exactly, did you install?
Did you install the Instant Client?  Or did you do a full client install?  If you did a full client install, which option did you pick during the installation process-- Administrator, Runtime, or Custom?  If you did a full client install that didn't include SQL Developer, you can always restart the Oracle Universal Installer, do a custom install, and choose to install just SQL Developer.
That being said, my bias would generally be to download the most recent version of SQL Developer from OTN separately.  SQL Developer gets released much more frequently than the Oracle client so the version on OTN is generally multiple revisions more recent than the version that was shipped with the client.  If you're going to be developing code, you may as well leverage all the new features of SQL Developer rather than settling for whatever version was current when 11.2 was released.
