SQL help. Identify changes on a field.

Greetings!
PS/SQL is not an option for me. I need help to use SQL, if possible for the following scenario.
Oracle 10G.
Table : JOB_DATA
EMPLID, DATE_EFF, DEPTID, JOBCODE
100, 11/1/2012, 34567, MNG
100, 10/1/2012, 34567, SUP
100, 9/1/2012, 28967, MNG
100, 8/15/2012, 28967, SUP
100,6/30/2012,15879, MNG
I need to get the following records only, that is ,whenever changes in Department ID.
100, 10/1/2012, 34567, SUP
100, 8/15/2012, 28967, SUP
100,6/30/2012,15879, MNG
Thanks in advance.

Hi Rama,
Next time please post table structure and sample data.
Please read SQL and PL/SQL FAQ
Here another way to do it:
WITH job_data AS
SELECT 100 emplid, TO_DATE('11/1/2012', 'MM/DD/YYYY') date_eff, 34567 deptid, 'MNG' jobcode FROM DUAL UNION ALL
SELECT 100 emplid, TO_DATE('10/1/2012', 'MM/DD/YYYY') date_eff, 34567 deptid, 'SUP' jobcode FROM DUAL UNION ALL
SELECT 100 emplid, TO_DATE('9/1/2012' , 'MM/DD/YYYY') date_eff, 28967 deptid, 'MNG' jobcode FROM DUAL UNION ALL
SELECT 100 emplid, TO_DATE('8/15/2012', 'MM/DD/YYYY') date_eff, 28967 deptid, 'SUP' jobcode FROM DUAL UNION ALL
   SELECT 100 emplid, TO_DATE('6/30/2012', 'MM/DD/YYYY') date_eff, 15879 deptid, 'MNG' jobcode FROM DUAL
SELECT emplid, date_eff, deptid, jobcode
  FROM (SELECT j.*
, DENSE_RANK() OVER (PARTITION BY emplid, deptid ORDER BY date_eff) rn
         FROM job_data j
WHERE rn = 1
ORDER BY date_eff DESC;
    EMPLID DATE_EFF       DEPTID JOBCODE
       100 10/01/2012      34567 SUP
       100 08/15/2012      28967 SUP
100 06/30/2012      15879 MNG   PARTITION BY emplid, deptid means that any time this combination of value is changing the rank will start again from 1.
The rank is ordered by date_eff.
I assume that you don't have the same date_eff for more than one record. If you have same date_eff for more than one record you need to explain what will be the logic in this case.
Regards.

    The true/false or yes/no or on/off field-type in
    access.
And I want to know with which argument I can change
the values. The Yes/No field is equivalent to the SQL BIT. SO, I guess you should make use of PreparedStatement and use a setBoolean() to set that value. If you are unaware of PreparedStatements, read here:

  • SQL Help with change multiple columns into a single column

I am wanting to create either a new View or a new Table based on the following original table:
    Original Table:
    Fiscal Year
    Account
    Budget_Amt_January
    Budget_Amt_February
    Budget_Amt_March
    Budget_Amt_April
<etc. for each of the 12 months)
I want the new View or Table to instead be:
    New:
    Fiscal_Year
    Month

I can't simply drop the original table, it will have to always exist since it is part of the Finance package, but for ease of reporting against I am wanting to create this new View.
Any ideas on how to go about this?
    Thanks!

I had to do something very similar just this week - in my case a record read from a csv into a table, then needs loading into a destination table, and the rows are columns in the csv. I went for INSERT ALL as I also had some conditions.

George - Thanks you so much!  Actually, i'd love for the text color to be red font color.  Could you send me the script for that? And I assume I just copy and paste the script into the field properties (see screenshot)?

  • Identifying Changed Dates on Documents in SAP B1

Greetingsu2026I have an unusual request that is somewhat long, very serious, and hope folks can help.
A headquarters customer believes a subsidiary company has u2018made upu2019 dates on invoices for previous billings.  They describe the date changes as u2018radicalu2019 but I have not personally seen these invoices as of yet and am waiting a FAX.  They requested I go into SAP B1 to see if someone has fabricated or made up or changed invoice dates and who it was.  They have some specific large-dollar invoices identified to research.  The person under suspect (who is no longer there) was considered an expert in SAP B1, so maybe she knew all of the different ways to change dates around.  Being an expert means also she might have used some unusual ways to change dates to the ones she wanted.
Here are some of my ideas to discover this situation, but I hope someone can suggest even more steps because I would like to know every way that this situation can be discovered.
    1. Open the AR Invoices and use Data > Change Log and concentrate on dates.
    2. Run some SQL to validate document dates and system dates.  SELECT T0.DocNum, T0.DocDate, T0.CreateDate, T0.TaxDate, T0.UpdateDate FROM OINV T0 WHERE (T0.DocDate does not equal T0.CreateDate OR T0.TaxDate does not equal T0.CreateDate).  The results would show invoices that maybe had their dates changed.
3.Run a Document Journal in the Financial Module.  Finance > Financial Reports > Accounting > Document Journal with the u2018Expanded Selectionu2019 of AR Invoices and a date range covering the invoices in question.  Then see if the Transaction Numbers are out of sequence.
    4. Run a Transaction Journal Report Financials > Financial Reports > Accounting > Transaction Journal Report with AR Invoices.  Compare this report to Document Journal.
    5. Run the Utilities functions of Utilities > Check Document Numbering to see if there any anomalies there in the document numbers.
    6. Run the Administration > System Initialization > Document Numbering function to see if a special series has been set up.
    7. Check out the AR Invoice numbering order by running another simple SQL covering a range of the invoices in question. SELECT T0.DocNum, T0.TaxDate, T0.CreateDate, T0.UpdateDate FROM OINV T0 WHERE T0.DocNum > 1583 AND T0.DocNum < 3251 ORDER BY T0.CreateDate.  Then see if the AR Invoice Numbering Sequence is not consistent.
    8. Check out those documents that are connected to each suspect AR Invoice and their associated dates by using the Target and Base Document icons.  For example, if a Deliver Document has dates of January 2007 but the AR Invoice date is September 2006, then someone has played around with dates on at least one of the documents.
    9. Get copies of the complete company database before the alleged changes were made and a company database as of today and compare the two contents.  Only good if the backups are maintained for a long time.
Here come the questions on the ways I BELIEVE dates can be changed but not sure how to find and need to work on them:
QUESTION 1 u2013 If a person DTWs invoices up into SAP B1, how can I tell that DTW was used to change the dates, the date of the DTW run, and the dates that were changed?
QUESTION 2 u2013 If a person uses SQL to update dates on SAP B1, how can I find out that SQL has been used, the date of the SQL run, and the dates that were changed?
QUESTION 3 u2013 If a person goes out and changes the workstation and/or server Date and Timestamp Properties, how can I find that they did that and the date changes?  You can do this on your PC by just changing the month, date, and year in Microsoftu2019s Date and Timestamp Properties.
QUESTION 4 u2013 I know SAP has a policy that no SQL can be used to update databases and/or tables and have been told some customers lost support because they did this.  What does SAP do to discover this in their lab?
QUESTION 5 u2013 Are there any notes in the portals to help me find changed dates?
QUESTION 6 u2013 Are there any logs SAP B1 produces that can help identify such changes and how do I find and use them?
QUESTION 7 (and this is big) u2013 Are the other ways dates can be changed on AR Invoices and how would I uncover the way it was done and the needed information of Original Date and Changed Date?
Many, many thanks for any help provided since this is a serious situation.  If you can make any suggestions it would be greatly appreciatedu2026

    Hi Zal
If this person was an "Expert" on SAP Business One then the only way they would have changed dates would probably be directly in SQL itself. The best way to determine this would be to hope that they slipped up somewhere and forgot to change a particular date in let's say one specific table.
For invoices, start with the post date, doc date & create date. Then check each of these to the OJDT/JDT1 tables for any discrepancies. Next check the ADOC/ADO1 table for multiple instances on the invoice. If only 1 instance then check the create date, time & user as well as the aforementioned dates between OINV/INV1 & ADOC/ADO1. If multiple instances, check the dates from 1 instance to the next (This will indicate dates being changed in the system).
Next check the same dates against OINM table. If any of the dates do not tally then the SQL was changed directly.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you need further assistance.
    Kind regards

  • PL/SQL Help...Long Raw to BLOB

    Hello All,
I have a PL/SQL Package and Function that does a search for text in a blob field. Below is the Package and the Function.
Here the statement that executes the function
    Select *
               FROM PROGTXT
              WHERE pcode.str_loc_in_blob
                                        (pcode.blob_to_new_blob (progtxt),
                                         '<search string>'
                                        ) <> 0
ORDER BY objectvalue1, objectvaluesCurrently the above mentioned sql works where the progtxt is a blob datatype.
We have a database where the progtxt is of Long Raw datatype. I want to utilize the same sql exactly but change the function where i can copy the table structure to a global temporary table each time the function is executed using the dbms_lob funtion and delete the temp table once the function is executed after the results are posted/retrieved. The reason why i want to use the same application is because it is part of a .net program and the only thing i change is the function. I am not great with PL/SQL. If anyone can help that will be a great help!!!!!

First you may need to convert 'BLOB' which is of 'RAW' type to 'VARCHAR2'
    using
utl_raw.cast_to_varchar2(urblob)Then you can make use of dbms_lob.instr,dbms_lob.substr etc...

  • Who has changed the Custom Field value?

    Dears,
Need to know the information regarding how to fetch that who has changed the Custom field value from PWA/MPP.
    Example:
There is a PDP (say ProjectInfo):
There is a Custom Field added to that PDP (say Project Status = In Progress).
Now for ProjectA, someone has checked out and changed the Custom Field "Project Status" from "In Progress" to "Closed".
I need to fetch the information regarding who has changed that Custom field.
In which direction should I move: Event Handlers, PSI???? Any other stuff?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Shravan

    Hi Shravan,
I'm not a developer but I do know that you can use an event handler pushing the resource name and date in custom fields.
Another way is to use a 3rd-party tool like
    FluentPro Audit Tool.
    Hope this helps,

    Hi,
Use control-break statement ON-CHANGE for the 4th field, and do the changes.

Do you *HAVE* to change the query... you could just display
    it in the
desired format if that it the ultimate and only goal.
    <table>
    <tr>
    <td>name</td>
    <td>amount</td>
    </tr>
    <cfoutput query="sumQry">
    <tr><td>Rates</td><td>#rates#</td></tr>
    <tr><td>Conversion</td><td>#conversion#</td></tr>
    </cfoutput>
    </table>

  • How to Change the Value Field Type of a Value Field

    Hi,
How can I change the value field type from Currency to Quantity of a value field? I have tried to do it in KEA6. I can change the value field and its description, but not the value field type from currency to qty. If I change this config, is there any other changes that I need to make so there is no side issue of this change?

    Hi Prem,
Once you created value field as quantity or currency, you can not change this nature of value field. Based on this, system creates lots of data and tables. For this reason system will not allow any changes in quantity or currency.
Alternative way is to remove the old value field and  create a new value field assign to operating concern and put all your seetings.
Please let me know if you require any clarifications.
    Thank you,
    Regards,
    Santosh

  • Changing an input field's appearance to Optional in an ESS WD Java scenario

This thread is posted to help customers with a common user based issue with ESS
SAP may deliver some fields in ESS iviews as mandatory however you may not want some fields to be mandatory and may want the iview display to guide the user appropriately
Often delivered mandatory fields have an Asterisk denoting this field as a mandatory
requirement for data entry in the ESS scenario
The purpose of this post is to show how the Asterisk can be removed and therefore indicate to the user that an entry is not required
There may be 2 ways to do this
    1) As of a SP9 in ERP 6.0 press Ctrl and Right mouse button on the field in the PCD preview of the   iview you wish to modify. In the Personalization options there is a "Mark as Mandatory" option please select "Not Personalized" and save then review the iview to see if the asterisk is removed
    2) If this does not have the desired effect or you have a lower SAP version or SP level you will need    NWDI to make the change. You will require knowledge of NWDI to make the change -->
Open the required scenario in NWDS
Position cursor on Required field and right click and select u2018Propertiesu2019
    Go to the u2018Propertiesu2019 tab
Change property field u2018Stateu2019 from u2018Requiredu2019 to u2018Normalu2019
    Save the changes
As this field now appears as optional to the user you also have to ensure the
ECC business logic does not reject a user who does not populate the field with data - therefore you will need mark the field as optional in
    V_T588M
    V_T588MFPROPS
These changes also affect entry of data into this field in PA30 - HR Administrators or users with R3 access will therefore have the same user experience (i.e field is not mandatory)
If you have issues maintaining V_T588MFPROPS appropriately you can insert an overide into V_T588MFPROPC
If you find the ESS scenario still requests an entry in the field it could be that this field is an essential
or core part of this particular ESS scenario and therefore the model expects data to be populated in this field or it could also be that previous or subsequent fields are dependant on an entry in that field - In this case you may need to make a coding change to the model and/or change the business logic of dependant fields as well.

  • QM03-Custom tab-Change to text field not reflecting-FG - XQQM-screen-0106

    Hi,
I have a requirement to change the text field on a custom tab of QM03 transaction. Quality notification type is Z1 and the tab is "Checklist". Both are custom defined.
The existing text field is of 3 lines. The new text message is of 8 lines. When I did the changes on the custom screen 0106 in the function group XQQM, the changes are not reflected on the QM03 transaction's custom tab. Only first 3 lines were reflecting the change and rest of the 5 lines are not appearing on the screen.
Pointers on this will be definitely helpful.
    Regards,
    Mallika.

I had a similar problem, but it was with the message line. I found that with Web Forms, I had to issue the Synchronize; a second time, but in Client/Server Forms 6i, the first synchronize worked. Here is the code I used:
    <pre><font face = "Lucida Console, Courier New, Courier, Fixed" size = "1" color = "navy"> SYNCHRONIZE;
    if Get_Application_Property(User_Interface) = 'WEB' then
synchronize;--first does not work on web
    end if;</font></pre>
Let us know if this works.

  • Change of custom fields in header data

    Hi Experts,
How to change of custom fields in header data in frontend SRM for Process PO transaction ?
    Help is appreciable.
    Thank You.
    Regards,Sunu

    Thank you for your replies.
There is one custom field in header data called 'SDN Number' of our PO for example and i would like to change this from 'SDN Number' to 'Login Name' as the logic for taking the value for this field should remain the same. Only the display text should change.
So, whenever i login into frontned SRM and process the transaction 'Process PO' i should be able to see 'Login Name' instead of 'SDN Number' in header data of the PO.
Hope i reaced my query in clear way.
    Highly thanful for your replies.
