SQL prompts show no data OBIEE 11.1.1.6

Dear Gurus,
I have prompt with parameters like:
Province
City
Hospital Name
I want Hospital Name parameter filtered by Province & City so I use this in my Sql Prompts Syntax:
SELECT "Dim Hospital"."Hospital Name" FROM "eHealth CCD Vital Sign" WHERE "Dim Region"."Province"='{v_province}'
I tested it and it show no data (appear search....) in Hospital Name drop down.
I run it in Firefox, IE, Chrome, still the same.
It work when I remove WHERE from the syntax.
Is this bugs?
I use obiee 11.1.1.6.0
Any help will be appreciated
Regards
JOE
NB:Sory I have post in wrong section, already move it in OBIEE Foundation.

If Hospital and Province are columns in the same prompt, you can use the 'Limit values by' functionality in the Hospital column criteria(along with All column values instead of SQL results) and choose Province (or All prompts if indeed need to restrict by all other columns in that prompt). This way the Hospital column will be restricted based on Province as soon as Province is selected (ie without hitting Apply)
If Hospital and Province are in different prompts then you can use the presentation variable and SQL results method you have been trying.
Increase the logging level for the user and check what physical query is being fired for populating the Hospital column.

    Newbie blues: Oracle Sql Developer showing different data from Sqlplus.
    First of all; it would be difficult to know less about Oracle than myself.
    I just installed a recent copy of the server and am running SQl Developer 3.2.20.10.
    I made a small test table , borrowed some pl sql code to add rows, then wrote code to delete some rows. Lots of fun.
    In SQL Developer “Select * from t1;” now shows 7 records, which seems right.
    I wanted other views of the data and so logged in from the command line using SQLPlus.
    The same code here shows the table prior to the delete, with 600 plus rows. Needless to say I’ve logged out and back in again, with no changes.
    No fun ! What am I not understanding here ?

    did you ever actually issue COMMIT so other session can see the changed data?

  • Showing junk characters at SQL Prompt.

    Hi All,
    I m a beginner in Oracle DBA. I have one problem, i m trying to make my database such that it will store HINDI characters. Got that i changed NLs parameters in PFILE,Session as per document given by the Oracle. I also installed HINDI unicode font on my machine. But at SQL prompt its showing junk character when i fired a command
    select sysdater from dual.
    But if i change language to french then its working perfectly. i.e, its showing correct information.
    I also went throught the locale builder utility but there too i m getting square boxes. Can anybody help me out how to solve this problem.

  • Can we change system date from sql prompt

    hi everyone
    can someone tell if we can change the system date from the sql
    prompt??
    Tariq.

    I don't think that the date/time last modified is accessible.  You could use the SummaryInfo of the report to maintain this information yourself.  This is part of the RAS SDK.  There is a comments section available that you could use for this.

  • Import option is not showing the Data Source created using ODBC

    Hi all,
    I'm new to OBIEE, just installed OBIEE 10g in my system with the help of some reply from this Forum (thanks to Kalyan for this).
    Now when I tried to create new rpd, the Import option is not showing the Data source I have created. I have created new Datasource in the SystemDSN tab of the ODBC Administrator window,I have tried this by creating the Datasource in the UserDNS tab as well.
    Mine is Windows 7 Ultimate. The new data source which I have created through the ODBC Administrator window is to connect to SQL 2008 (I'm trying to get some table from SQL 2008 database), I don't have Oracle data base.
    While creating the Data source ODBC Administrator is showing only two drives (SQL Server and SQL Server Native Client 10.0 ) , so I have created the Data source using the SQL Server Native Client 10.0 drive.
    Can some one help me to understand the issue and to solve it.

  • Apex 4.0 - Can see view data in SQL*Plus but no data in Object Browser

    Hi There,
    I have just started using Apex 4.o and migrated some apps. I have an issue with a report, but see the same issue with Object browser, which is easier to describe.
    I have a view:
    create or replace view V_PLJ_USERDEF_CODES (
             CODE_SET_ID,
             CODE_SET_CODE,
             CODE_SET_DESC,
             CODE_ID,
             CODE_SYS_CODE,
             CODE_VALUE,
             CODE_DESC,
             DISPLAY_SEQ,
             DISPLAY_FLAG,
             LANGUAGE_CODE) as
      select CS.CODE_SET_ID,
             CS.CODE_SET_CODE,
             CS.CODE_SET_DESC,
             C.CODE_ID,
             C.CODE_SYS_CODE,
             C.CODE_VALUE,
             C.CODE_DESC,
             C.DISPLAY_SEQ,
             C.DISPLAY_FLAG,
             C.LANGUAGE_CODE
        from PLJ_CODES C,
             PLJ_CODE_SETS CS
       where C.CODE_SET_ID         = CS.CODE_SET_ID
         and CS.CODE_SET_TYPE_CODE = SYS_CONTEXT('PLJUMPSTART','C_USERDEF_CODE_SET');This returns data in SQL*Plus, but no data in Object Browser OR report region based on this view.
    Workspace parses in the same schema as tested in SQL*Plus.
    If, in report, I swap out view, and use underlying table - no problem.
    Any ideas -
    thanks
    P

    Hi all,
    Thanks for getting back so promptly.
    It just seems weird to me, as tables are just fine, but not views.
    In the underlying schema:
    SQL> sho user
    USER is "ICSREPORTING"
    SQL> select count(*) from plj_codes;
      COUNT(*)
           107
    SQL> select count(*) from v_plj_userdef_codes;
      COUNT(*)
            29And in the APEX schema
    SQL> sho user
    USER is "APEX_040000"
    SQL> select count(*) from icsreporting.plj_codes;
    select count(*) from icsreporting.plj_codes
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
    SQL> select count(*) from icsreporting.v_plj_userdef_codes;
    select count(*) from icsreporting.v_plj_userdef_codes
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
    SQL>However, in SQL browser, I can see the data in PLJ_CODES but in V_PLJ_USERDEF_CODES, just the message "This view has no data". Indeed, it is like this for all views.
    I even explicitly granted access to APEX_040000 but no good.
    In fact, I would like to know more about how Apex gets access to do DML against the underlying parsing schema(s).
    This is a little frustrating though. It worked just fine in lots of apps in version 2.1 to 3.2
    Am I missing something
    paul
    p.s I knew there would be a question about the context, but I had already checked that. :)

  • Report generated in Forms 6i shows no data on Web server

    Hi guys,
    I am having an application running web server Unix platform. We have recently migrated from forms 4.5 to 6i. I have a form which generates a report. When run on Web server, the report is generated but shows no data. The report runs fine when run in the client server mode. The parameter list in the form is generated using a procedure from one of the PL/SQL libraries and this is passed to another program unit in the form which runs the report.
    Any solutions for this?

    Rohanb,
    I had a similar situation (Reports 9i) so for all users, 95% could see the pdf and 5% get a beautyful white page...
    After updating for Acrobat Reader 7, everybody see the correct result !

  • Report shows no data in the Viewer

    Hello,
    i'm new to Crystal Reports and i have to develop a few Reports.
    I load the data with a stored procedure form a sql-server. This is working and i get all datas i need. But the Report Viewer doesn't show any data.
    I don't know why.
    If i do it over a select statement and not a stored procedure, the Report Viewer shows me each data set up to 9 times.
    I'm working with three tables.
    Here is the c# code i wrote.
    command = new SqlCommand();
    command.Connection = connection;
    command.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure;
    SqlParameter myParam = new SqlParameter("@FormulareAuftragNr", SqlDbType.VarChar, 5);
    myParam.Value = AuftragNr;
    command.Parameters.Add(myParam);
    command.CommandText = "dbo.Abfrage_Arbeitsplan_Bericht";
    connection.Open();
    SqlDataAdapter dataAdapter = new SqlDataAdapter(command);
    ds = new DataSet("ABC");
    dataAdapter.Fill(ds, "dbo.Abfrage_Arbeitsplan_Bericht");
    druckarbeitsplan.SetDataSource(ds);
    CR Version : latest
    VS Version : 10.30319.1
    OS : Windows 7
    it is for an Windows App
    Johannes

    CR Version : latest
    That is not enough info. All my content below is based on the assumption that you are using CRVS2010 (V. 13.x)...
    The code does not show you loading an actual report(?). Also, I'm assuming that after:
    druckarbeitsplan.SetDataSource(ds);
    you have code to show the report in the viewer or you're printing  exporting the report?
    For datasets see [this|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/oss_notes_boj/sdn_oss_boj_bi/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/scn_bosap/notes%7B6163636573733d36393736354636443646363436353344333933393338323636393736354637333631373036453646373436353733354636453735364436323635373233443330333033303331333533323335333433333332%7D.do] KB. Also, make sure you are using the full 4.0 framework, not the client framework.

  • 11g Cube not showing any data with no Rejected records

    Hi David ,
    Strangely one of my 11g Cube is not showing data from today as it is showing all records rejected . However when I lookup Rejected records table I didn't find any records .Not sure what is happening . When I want to peep out the AWM queries from CUBE_BUILD_LOG and ran to the database in the AWM schema the records are retruning perfectly fine . I wonder same query is firing during Cube load but without any data ? My Cube build script has only LOAD and Aggregate .
    after maintain My dimensions data are looking fine but no data populated after Cube maintenance . My MV switch off across all dimensions and cubes .
    I navigate to CUBE_OPERATION_LOG and not able to comprehend about the content.
    Any advice ?

  • Upgrade to 4.0 shows no data found on tabular forms

    Hi,
    After upgrading from 3.x to 4.0, an application that had many tabular forms is now showing "no data found" in their regions. A few pages work, while many others do not.
    Strangely enough, if I take the same sql in the source box and create a new page from scratch, the new tabular form shows the data properly. So it seems to be an issue with the upgrade. In one case it is a very simple "select col1, col2 etc from sample_table" type of syntax. Nothing complex there.
    I wanted to see if others have experienced this.
    In looking through the install log, I can not find any errors. The validation step also shows all objects compiled clean.
    Thanks!
    Erik

    Hey David. Good to know I am not the only one.
    Just to update some workarounds I have tried.
    1) Taking an export from the 3.x application and importing it into 4.0 does not fix the issue (so maybe not a pure upgrade issue?).
    2) Copying a page in 4.0 that has the issue and making a new page does not fix the issue.
    3) Making a change to the tabular form sql in the source box and applying does not fix the issue.
    Still the only workaround is to create a new page with same source sql and setup all the report field properties again.
    Thanks,
    Erik

  • Prompt  with  default  date   (  currentdate-1  and current date-8)

    Dear all,
      I am creating an @prompt varaiable for Date .
    @Prompt('message','type',lov,Mono, free,persistent,default_values)
    Requirement is in Place of "Default Values"   i need show  currentdate -1 and  currentdate-8 .
    Thanks
    suresh.p

    Hi Suresh,
    I have got more idea to do this.
    1 .Build another object of the same field in unv = u201CDate Rangeu201D
    code:
        case when (Date between trunc(sysdate u2013 1) and trunc(sysdate)) then u2018Yesterdayu2019
                 when (Date between trunc(sysdate u2013 8) and trunc(sysdate+1)) then u2018Last 8 Daysu2019
       end
    2. Now Add Yesterday in the defalut for currentdate-1 promp or u2018Last 8 Daysu2019 for currentdate-8 Prompt.
    = @Prompt(u2019Date Pickeru2019,'Au2019,DateX,mono,constrained,persistent,{u2019Yesterdayu2019})
       Create this prompt in the "Date Range" objects. or create a condition, What ever way you want it.
    Please try this and see if this can work without any parsing error.

  • What should I use BCS or directly connect to sql server to get data.

    Hi All,
    I have a requierment where the data is in the sql server.
    We  are using sharepoint webpart to show the data from the sql.
    Should i get the data from the sql server using connection string.
    Is there any better way to get data from Sql server table and show that in the custom asp.net form.
    Regards
    Vinod

    As I see the questions is in SharePoint 2013 forum.
    Assuming you have SharePoint 2013/2010, you can create Create/Read/Update/Delete operations on directly sql table using BCS service of SharePoint. That will save you default development of web part and handle all information properly.
    If you don't want to use BCS and sql (not sharepoint sql) information required, you can create custom web part/app part.
    Thanks, Ashish | Please mark a post helpful/answer if it is helpful or answer your query.

  • Prompt user for date range

    Im working on a report that when it is opened by end user, i want it to prompt them for a date range. The report should only show records that fall between the date ranges entered.
    If i use the select expert and hardcode specific dates in, it works and only shows the records i want to see. However i cannot figure out how to set Crystal to prompt the user to enter the in DateTime and the to Date Time fields with Select Expert.
    Ive tried using a Parameter field, which it prompts for the date range, but still pulls up all records as normal. Its like it ignores the date range the user enters.
    The select expert shows this formula, the date/time is all zero's in this example.
    {SHOP_ORD\.REVISED_START_DATE} in DateTime (0, 0, 0, 00, 00, 00) to DateTime (0, 0, 0, 00, 00, 00)
    Please help

    Figured it out.
    Had to create two Parameter Fields {?StartDate} and {?EndDate}.
    Then used Select Expert, Formula Editor to modify the formula and set the in DateTime = {?StartDate} and the to DateTime = {?EndDate}
    This works. Just hide the Parameter fields and you have your range selector

  • SQL remote query and data-dictionary

    Hi,
    We are considering the implementation of SAP Business One 2005. I've installed a demo version but in order for it to continue to support some business functions I need to perform a number of SQL queries against the data. Unfortunately I'm having difficulties in getting the answer from our reseller.
    Does anyone know the answers to the following question. I'd very much appreciate some help.
    1) Is there a data-dictionary document showing which tables perform which roles and the associated joins/associations.
    2) Is it 'advised' to open the SAP datasource directly to perform a SELECT query to obtain the results or should a third-party tool be used?
    3) Do I need the SDK if I want to perform direct SELECT queries or if I want to automate posting invoices to SAP? We have competent programmers in the company - I believe they use VB6 and VB.net.
    4) Is there an example if I simply wanted to query all suppliers within SAP? (e.g. SELECT NAME FROM Supplier_tbl...etc..etc)
    Any help would be very much appreciated - it's a huge application and I'm struggling a little.
    Many thanks,
    Gavin Russell.

    Gavin,
    The forum that you have posted your questions in is or questions related to the SAP Business One Integration for SAP NetWeaver.  Your questions seem to be along the line of general data access to SAP Business One.  You should typically post those types of questions in the SAP Business One Discussion Forum or the SAP Business One SDK Discussion Forum.
    As to your questions ...
    1.  The definition of the SAP Business One table schema is part of the SAP Business One SDK Help Center documentation.  You simply need to install the SAP Business One SDK Help and you will have it.  There is not a "data dictionary" other than this documentation.
    2.  Typically any direct access to SAP Business One data using SQL is discouraged as if data corruption occurs as a result of it, the environment would not then be supported by SAP.
    3.  If you want to push data into SAP Business One, as stated, direct access to the Business One database is forbidden.  You would use the SAP Business One SDK for this.
    4.  You can use the SAP Business One Query Manager/Wizard in the SAP Business One product which in essence is performing SQL type SELECTS for data on Business One tables.
    HTH,
    Eddy
