SQL Query criteria eliminates too many records

This SQL query results in zero out of 268 records due to the criteria of (((Products.ProductFamily)<=0))
SELECT images.url_img, images.alt_img, images.productid_img, Products.ProductFamily, Products.ID
FROM images LEFT JOIN Products ON images.productid_img = Products.ID
WHERE (((Products.ProductFamily)<=0));
However, if you change the <=0 to >0, the correct 140 out of 268 records show up. So if 140 records are greater than zero, shouldn't the remaining 128 records be less than or equal to zero? How do I get the results that are <=0 to show up?
FYI - Products.ProductFamily data type is numeric, field size is integer, decimal places is auto, default value is 0, required is No, indexed is No

Yes, but can you still answer the question? I am trying to determine if the problem is in the join or the where clause. What happens if you remove the join and still include results from the product table? Can you give an example of data for a few rows (both tables) that are not working as expected?

  • Function error:  Too many records

    I have writing a function that needs to return the total count of a sql statement. It will divide two calculated columns to get an average. I have two versions. Version 1 compiled successfully and I am trying to either run it in Reports or in the database and call it. I get an error stating that the function returns too many records. I understand that is a rule for stored functions but how can I modify the code to get it return one value for each time it is called?
    Here is the main calculation. SUM(date1-date2) / (date1-date2) = Avg of Days
    version1:
    create or replace FUNCTION CALC_OVER_AGE
    RETURN NUMBER IS
    days_between NUMBER;
    days_over NUMBER;
    begin
    select (determination_dt - Filed_dt), SUM(determination_dt - Filed_dt) into days_between, days_over
    from w_all_cases_mv
    where (determination_dt - Filed_dt) > 60
    and ;
    return (days_between/days_over);
    END CALC_OVER_AGE;
    version2:
    CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION CALC_OVER_AGE (pCaseType VARCHAR2)
    RETURN PLS_INTEGER IS
    v_days_between W_ALL_CASES_MV.DAYS_BETWEEN%TYPE;
    v_total NUMBER;
    days_over NUMBER;
    i PLS_INTEGER;
    BEGIN
    SELECT COUNT(*)
    INTO i
    FROM tab
    WHERE case_type_cd = pCaseType
    AND determination_dt - Filed_dt > 60;
    IF i <> 0 THEN
    select SUM(determination_dt-Filed_dt), days_between
    into v_total, v_days_between
    from tab
    where determination_dt - Filed_dt > 60;
    RETURN v_total/v_days_between;
    ELSE
    RETURN 0;
    END IF;
    EXCEPTION
    WHEN OTHERS THEN
    RETURN 0;
    END CALC_OVER_AGE;

    Table Structure:
    WB_CASE_NR NUMBER(10)
    RESPONDENT_TYPE_CD VARCHAR2(10)
    INV_LOCAL_CASE_NR VARCHAR2(14)
    CASE_TYPE_CD VARCHAR2(10)
    FILED_DT DATE
    FINAL_DTRMNTN_DT DATE
    REPORTING_NR VARCHAR2(7)
    INVESTIGATOR_NAME VARCHAR2(22)
    OSHA_CD VARCHAR2(5)
    FEDERAL_STATE VARCHAR2(1)
    RESPONDENT_NM VARCHAR2(100)
    DAYS_BETWEEN NUMBER
    LAST_NM VARCHAR2(20)
    FIRST_NM VARCHAR2(20)
    DETERMINATION_DT DATE
    DETERMINATION_TYPE_CD VARCHAR2(2)
    FINAL_IND_CD VARCHAR2(1)
    DESCRIPTION VARCHAR2(400)
    DETERMINATION_ID NUMBER(10)
    ALLEGATION_CD VARCHAR2(1)
    ALGDESCRIPTION VARCHAR2(50)
    Output is for Reports, I am trying to get the last calculation, which is the Average Days. The reports is grouped on Case Types and has several bucket counts for each like this.
    Case Type Count All Completed Pending Over Age Avg Days
    A 5 3 4 2 15
    Z 10 7 6 3 30
    4 8 3 5 4 22
    To get the Avg Days, the Over Age calculation is used as well as the Days Between (Determination_Dt - Filed_Dt). That is the (date1-date2) example that I gave in my first post. So the calcuation would be the SUM(Days_Between) / Days_Between.

  • SQL query to get last 10 records in the table?

    Hi,
    Can anyone tell me the SQL query to get last 10 records in the table?
    Thanks!!
    MCP

    Please, define what "last" means. Sets are unordered by definition, so if you want to retrieve rows from a table in a specific order you need to specify what that order is - e.g. by maintaining a value in a column (or a combination of columns) that you can use in the ORDER BY clause of the SELECT statement.
    If, for instance, you kept the time when the row was inserted in a special column (InsertedTime), you could use this in your query like this:
    select top (10)
      <column list>
      from <table or view>
      where <restriction(s)>
      order by InsertedTime desc;

  • Report timing out, "Too many records"

    I am using CR XIR2 with a univers that I created to run an inverntory report. The report works fine in the designer but when I go to run it from the CR Server It times out. (Very quickly).  If I put filters and only pull a subset of the data the report works fine. This issue is there should not be too many records. Where can I check to make sure that there are no limitations set and I can get all of the records? I have set the parameters for the Universe to no limit records or time to execute. Is there any place else I can check? or any other ideas?
    Thanks

    What viewer do you use?
    If the viewer is ADHTML, you are using the RAS (Report Application Server). In that case, you need to set the number of (db) records to read in the RAS properties on the CMC.
    If the viewer is DHTML, Java or ActiveX, you are using the CR Page Server. You will need to set the number of db records to read in the Cryatal Reports Page Server properties on the CMC.

    I had too much records in both tables and i jst want to see the records that is in table 1 not in table 2 only.
    employeeid and employeeno are the same in both tables
    I hope u understand my query. I user left outer join and right outer join bt it displays all the results that and matching and unmatching. I want jst unmatched records.

  • Sql query to Load only new records,or update old records

    Hi,
    I need a query (not stored procedure) to insert only new records otherwise update existing records.
    I tried by creating "Merge statement in SQl", but the sql query is wrong,it is not updating,always inserting records(replicating..1,2,4,8,16,32..).
    below is my sample query,
    Here "FACT_mytbl -FCT" is my fact table.(which need to update if already records found ,otherwise insert as new records).
    *Inside select ---the table   E_tbl1,E_tbl2  is the business logic table ,using this two table only ,"FACT_mytbl" was created  .So the "S" alias will be the source
    table and "FCT" will be target table. based on this we have to insert or update records.
      ---Query starts-------------------------------------
     MERGE INTO [FACT_mytbl]  FCT
     USING  (
           SELECT
           FCT1.ID
          ,FCT1.PKcol1
          ,FCT1.FKcol1
          ,FCT1.col1
          ,FCT1.col2
         , FCT1.col3
       FROM  [FACT_mytbl] FCT1 WITH(NOLOCK)
       LEFT JOIN dbo.E_tbl1 CT WITH(NOLOCK)
    ON CT.PKcol1=FCT1.PKcol1
       LEFT JOIN dbo.E_tbl2 CT1 WITH(NOLOCK)
    ON CT1.PKcol1=FCT1.PKcol1
       ) S
       ON FCT.PKcol1 = S.PKcol1
     WHEN MATCHED AND (FCT.PKcol1 ! = S.PKcol1 ) THEN
     UPDATE SET
           FCT.col1
          ,FCT.col2
          ,FCT.col3
     WHEN NOT MATCHED THEN
     INSERT VALUES
           S.ID
          ,S.PKcol1
          ,S.FKcol1
          ,S.col1
          ,S.col2
         , S.col3
    --query ends----------------
    any suggestions,
    Thanks,
    R.B

    Hi Bhupesh_Rajasekaran,
    According to your description, if you want to insert only new records which does not exist in destination and update existing records which does exist in destination. We usually accomplish these in two statement.
    1.A join statement to update records.
    2.A insert statement for new records.
    Also we can use MERGE in SQL Server to insert, update at the same time. You specify a "Source" record set and a "Target" table, and the join between the two. You then specify the type of data modification that is to occur when the records between the two
    data are matched or are not matched. For more information, there is an similar example about merge in SQL Server, you can review the following article.

  • SQL Query to retrieve the All records based on the Max Dates.

    Hello all,
    I am trying to retrieve the newest record based on the date field (  nextDate  ).
    Currently there are only 4 records in the MC_Maintenance table and two in the Machine table.
    Machine table
    MC_id             EquipID
    1                      0227
    MC_id             EquipID
    2                     0228

    4                      1                      07/11/2010
    What I  am trying to accomplish is,
    list the two machines from the Machine table with the MAX(Next_maint) controlling the MC_Maintenance output list
    These are the records that I would like to Display.
    Maint_id           MC_id             Next_maint
    1                      2                      08/25/2010
    4                      1                      07/11/2010
    Below is the SQL Query
    SELECT
           MC.MC_ID as ID,
            MC.complete_Date as completed,
            MC.next_maint as nextDate,
            MC.maint_notes as Notes,

    I would have thought that was a simple group by problem?
    SELECT M.EquipID, MC.MC_ID, Max(MC.next_maint)

    GROUP BY M.EquipID, MC.MC_ID

  • Special Ledger Roll up: too many records created in receiver table

    Hello,
    When I execute roll up from 1 special ledger to another special ledger (leaving out a number of fields) 4 records (postings) are selected but in the receiver table there are 92 records created (4*23) so 88 records too many. For each selected record in the sender table 7 records contain only 0 amounts and have an incorrect RPMAX value (starting with 16 till 336). The 8th record has an amount and has the correct RPMAX value: 352). In Sender and Receiver Ledger fiscal year variant Daily Balance is assigned (= each day is a period). Any hint how to prevent the empty records?

    Installing the patch, re- importing the SAP Provisioning framework (I selected 'update') and recreating the jobs didn't yield any result.
    When examining pass 'ReadABAPRoles' of Job 'AS ABAP - Initial Load' -> tab 'source', there are no scripts used .
    After applying the patch we decided anyway to verify the scripts (sap_getRoles, sap_getUserRepositories) in our Identity Center after those of 'Note 1398312 - SAP NW IdM Provisioning Framework for SAP Systems' , and they are different
    File size of SAP Provisioning Framework_Folder.mcc of SP3 Patch 0 and Patch 1 are also exactly the same.
    Opening file SAP Provisioning Framework_Folder.mcc with Wordpad : searched for 'sap_getRoles'  :

    So I assume the updates mentioned in Note 1398312 aren't included in SP3 Patch 1. Manually replaced the current scripts with those of the note and re- tested : no luck. Same issue.
    Thanks again for the help,

  • RFC_READ_TABLE (too many records)

    Hi,
    I am trying to download a massive amount of records from table CDPOS using VBA and the SAP.Functions library.  It works fine for other tables.  It also works if I limit the records to be obtained using "OPTIONS". However, if this criteria covers a high number of records or if I don't define a criteria at all then I get a "SYSTEM FAILURE" message.  I have a simiar problem when useing SE16 and the number of records is too high.
    Any ideas on how to deal with this?  There is not a date field in CDPOS for me to extract by date ranges and sometimes there is a high number of records associated to a single document number.
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi!
    I haven't been working with this table myself so I might be drawing incorrect conclusions here but I when a had a look at the table I noticed there is a field called CHANGENR. When checking the data in this field in my system I notice it's escalating and maybe you can use this to fetch all the records in smaller loads.
    Lets say you start by calling RFC_READ_TABLE with a CHANGENR interval set to min 0 max 9999999 and then you restrict the number of hits to an appropriate value. This would result in records with the smallest number from changenr up to a number where the max records hits. After that you could just take the last received CHANGENR value and use it as min in your interval redo the search and then continue this until the returned number of records is less then "maximum number of hits" which would indicate that you've extracted all the data from the table.
    Concrete example:
    Search criteria CHANGENR 0 to 99999999 with maximum number of hits set to 6 (lets make it low for the sake of argument):
    1500000
    1500001
    1500002
    1500002
    1500002
    1500003
    Redo search with search criteria CHANGENR 1500003 (yes we want this one again) to 99999999
    1500003
    1500003
    1500003
    1500004
    1500005
    1500006
    Now we would like to withdraw the number of 1500003 we received in the previous search (1) from the "top" to avoid duplicates, in this case we would have 5 usable records in search batch 2. Then just continue like that until records returned is less then maximum number of hits or equal to zero.
    Maybe the CHANGENR isn't as fixed as this, just a thought when I read your question:)
    Hope it helps!
    Regards, Ernst.

  • ABAP - CUA : Initial load : too many records in the CUA?

    We are running :
    SP03 for IDENT. CENTER DESIGNTIME 7.1 Patch 0
    SP03 for IDENTITY CENTER RUNTIME 7.1 Patch 1
    SP03 for NW IDM IC UIS 7.00 Patch 1
    We have connected our customer's CUA system to IdM : we created an Identity Store called 'SAP_Master', created the CUA repository, defined the required attributes as defined in the guide 'IDM 7.1 - IdM For SAP Systems - Configuration 7-3.pdf', created the jobs based upon the templates etc. The dispatcher used has 'run provisioning jobs' disabled.
    On our sandbox server, when we connect to our sandbox CUA system (CUA_YS5_200), everything is ok, the 'AS ABAP - Initial load' job with only 'ReadABAPRoles' enabled, runs fine.
    On our QA system, when we connect to our 'production' CUA system (CUA_YP0_400), the 'AS ABAP - Initial load' job with
    only 'ReadABAPRoles' enabled, finished with message 'could not start job, rescheduling'. Since there is a huge number of records (we looked it up in the system : 311.679 records), we decided to switch on parameter 'bootstrap job'. Now the result is that it takes forever, after half a day the job is still running. In the database, table 'sapCUA_YP0_400role' is still completely empty (no records). Therefore, it seemed interesting to connect our QA IdM system to our development CUA system (CUA_YS5_200). After a while, the exact same job has finished and table 'sapCUA_YS5_200role' contains 18.580 records.
    After some additional testing, we might have discoved the cause of the issue could be that the number of records in our CUA is too big.
    In the java code of the fromSAP pass there are 2 calls to the SAP system for reading the roles into Idm. The first one reads table USRSYSACT (311.000 records), the second one reads table USRSYSACTT (1.000.000 records). All these records are stored into a java hashmap - we think that 1 million records exceeds the hashmaps capability, although no java error is thrown.
    When we debug the functionmodule RFC_READ_TABLE and change the rowcount to 100.000 then everything works fine. When we set the rowcount to 200.000 the java-code does not generate an error but the job in idm never
    ends...
    When running functionmodule RFC_READ_TABLE in the backend system the 1.000.000 records are processed in less than one minute. So apparently, the issue is related to the processing in the Java code.
    Java Dispatcher heap size is set to 1024.
    Anybody already came accros this issue?
    Thanks & best regards,
    Kevin

    -> Script last change 2009-05-07 08:00:23.54 -> that's no update !
    So I assume the updates mentioned in Note 1398312 aren't included in SP3 Patch 1. Manually replaced the current scripts with those of the note and re- tested : no luck. Same issue.
    Thanks again for the help,
    Kevin

  • Stopping Crystal Printing Too Many Records

    I have a report in crystal.  It is showing some details held on our Case Management System.  If people merge in the template twice they end up with a set of 8 blank details in their case.  This in turn forces Crystal to print many rows for each of these cases as it prints ever possible combination of answers for each detail.  As a result I had 540,000 records instead of 1 this morning.
    Does anyone know if there is anyway to stop this happening, an option to stop Crystal printing more than say 100,000 records?
    Thanks,
    Alastair

  • SQL Query issue find difference in records

    Hi All,
    I am using oracle 10g. I need urgent help in finding difference in records based on date:
    I have table sales as below:
    salesman SALES_COUNT DATE
    JOHN 20 04/01/2012
    DENNY 15 04/01/2012
    JOHN 30 04/02/2012
    DENNY 30 04/02/2012
    JOHN 45 04/03/2012
    DENNY 50 04/03/2012
    SALES_COUNT is increasing for sales man with date. Its like cumulative count. John has total sales from 04/01/2012 to 04/03/2012 is 50 and same case with Denny. This SALES_COUNT will keep on increasing with dates as sales keep adding in the table for each salesman.
    But i want to have seprate counts for each salesman.
    for e.g: SALES_COUNT JOHN on 04/02/2012 is 30-20 =10
    SALES_COUNT JOHN on 04/03/2012 is 45-30 =15
    SALES_COUNT DENNY on 04/02/2012 is 30-15 =15
    SALES_COUNT JOHN on 04/03/2012 is 50-30 =20
    Please help me with this scenario and let me know if need more information. I will greatly appreciate your help.
    Thanks.
