SQL Query for all Function Name attached to Responsibility

I have a requiremnet where in the data needs to be fetched giving all details of User Name, Responsibility Name, Function_user_name at responsibility level.
For e.g when a user logs in ORacle application and gets in to a responsibility and uses short cut key (Cntrl + L), the application lists out all the form functions, i need those form funtion for all users at responsibility level.
follwoing is the SQL i developed but its not listing the form function when we use (cntrl + L).

    Looking at the logic you are trying to create it looks like you are looking for overlapping time periods.
    Consider two date/time ranges:
    Range 1 : T1 - T2
    Range 2 : T3 - T4
    Do they overlap?
    1) No: T1 < T4 (TRUE)  T2 > T3 (FALSE)
    T1 --- T2
               T3 --- T4
    2) Yes: T1 < T4 (TRUE)  T2 > T3 (TRUE)
    T1 ---------- T2
               T3 --- T4
    3) Yes: T1 < T4 (TRUE)  T2 > T3 (TRUE)
    T1 -------------------- T2
               T3 --- T4
    4) Yes: T1 < T4 (TRUE)  T2 > T3 (TRUE)
                   T1 ----- T2
               T3 --- T4
    5) Yes: T1 < T4 (TRUE)  T2 > T3 (TRUE)
               T1 --- T2
           T3 ------------ T4
    5) No: T1 < T4 (FALSE) T2 > T3 (TRUE)
                    T1 --- T2
           T3 --- T4Answer: Yes they overlap if:
    T1 < T4 AND T2 > T3
    So you can code the logic in your SQL as simply:
    SELECT *
    FROM tbl
    WHERE range1_start < range2_end
    AND    range_1_end > range2_startIf you go around implementing PL/SQL functions for simple logic that can be achieved in SQL alone then you cause context switching between the SQL and PL/SQL engines which degrades performance. Wherever possible stick to just SQL and only use PL/SQL if absolutely necessary.

    Can anyone help me to get a SQL query for the above.
    Thanks in advance.

    You can achieve it in multiple ways. Here are few.

    Thanks in advance.Do you really mean that?
    select col1 from table1 where col1='5';That query will always return either '5' or nothing. Whatever you're trying to accomplish with that, you can do with an EXISTS query.
    Perhaps you meant to reference two different columns in that query:
    select col1 from table1 where col2='5';In that case, sorry, no, you can't do that without resorting to dynamic SQL.
    If the same column is used throughout the query (but could change every time you run the query), then the dynamic SQL might be pretty easy. In SQL*Plus, for example, you could use substitution variables, defined in another query at run-time.
    If there are only a few possible values that the sub-query could possibly return, and you know what they all are, then you can fake a dynamic query like this:
    SELECT     CASE     ( SELECT  col1
                FROM       table1
                WHERE       col2     = '5'
              WHEN  'BONUS'     THEN  bonus
              WHEN  'COMM'     THEN  comm
              WHEN  'SAL'     THEN  sal
         END     AS col1
    FROM     table2
    ;Sorry to give such a vague answer, but it's the best I can do with the information I have.
    It would help if you posted a little sample data (CREATE TABLE and INSERT statments for both tables), and the results you want to get from that data. If you want to pass a parameter to the query, give the results you want for a couple of different parameters.

  • Problem writing a sql query for a select list based on a static LOV

    Hi,
    I have the following table...
    VALIDATIONS
    ID          Number     (PK)
    APP_ID          Number
    REQUESTED     Date
    APPROVED     Date
    VALID_TIL     Date
    DEPT_ID          Number     (FK)
    I have a search form with the following field item variables...
    P11_DEPT_ID (select list based on dynamic LOV from depts table)
    P11_VALID (select list based on static Yes/No LOV)
    A report on the columns of the Validations table is shown based on the values in the search form. So far, my sql query for the report is...
    SELECT v.APP_ID,
    v.REQUESTED,
    v.APPROVED,
    v.VALID_TIL,
    d.DEPT
    FROM DEPTS d, VALIDATIONS v
    WHERE d.DEPT_ID = v.DEPT_ID(+)
    AND (d.DEPT_ID = :P11_DEPT_ID OR :P11_DEPT_ID = -1)
    This query works so far. My problem is that I don't know how to do a search based on the P11_VALID item - if 'yes' is selected, then the VALID_TIL date is still valid. If 'no' is selected then the VALID_TIL date has passed.
    Can anyone help me to extend my query to include this situation?
    Thanks.

    Hello !
    Let's have a look at my example:create table test
    id        number
    ,valid_til date
    insert into test values( 1, sysdate-3 );
    insert into test values( 2, sysdate-2 );
    insert into test values( 3, sysdate-1 );
    insert into test values( 4, sysdate );
    insert into test values( 5, sysdate+1 );
    insert into test values( 6, sysdate+2 );
    commit;
    select * from test;
    def til=yes
    select *
      from test
      where decode(sign(trunc(valid_til)-trunc(sysdate)),1,1,0,1,-1)
           =decode('&til','yes',1,-1);
    def til=no
    select *
      from test
      where decode(sign(trunc(valid_til)-trunc(sysdate)),1,1,0,1,-1)
           =decode('&til','yes',1,-1);
    drop table test;  It's working fine, I've tested it.
    The above changes to my first idea I did because of time portion of the DATE datatype in Oracle and therefore the wrong result for today.
    For understandings:
    1.) TRUNC removes the time part of DATE
    2.) The difference of to date-values is the number of days between.
    3.) SIGN is the mathematical function and gives -1,0 or +1 according to an negative, zero or positiv argument.
    4.) DECODE is like an IF.
    Inspect your LOV for the returning values. According to my example they shoul be 'yes' and 'no'. If your values are different, you may have to modify the DECODE.
    Good luck,
    Heinz

  • How to create sql query for item master with operator LIKE with variables?

    hi all,
    How to create sql query for item master with
    operator LIKE(Contains,Start With,End With) with variables using query generator in SAP B1 ?
    Jeyakanthan

    Hi Jeyakanthan,
    here is an example (put the like statement into the where field)
    SELECT T0.CardCode, T0.CardName FROM OITM T0 WHERE T0.CardName Like '%%test%%'
    The %% sign is a wildcard. If you need start with write 'test%%' and otherwise ends with '%%test'. For contains you need '%%test%%'. You also could combinate this statements like 'test%%abc%%'. This means starts with test and contains abc.

  • How to write sql query for counting pairs from below table??

    Below is my SQL table structure.
    user_id | Name | join_side | left_leg | right_leg | Parent_id
    100001 Tinku Left 100002 100003 0
    100002 Harish Left 100004 100005 100001
    100003 Gorav Right 100006 100007 100001
    100004 Prince Left 100008 NULL 100002
    100005 Ajay Right NULL NULL 100002
    100006 Simran Left NULL NULL 100003
    100007 Raman Right NULL NULL 100003
    100008 Vijay Left NULL NULL 100004
    It is a binary table structure.. Every user has to add two per id under him, one is left_leg and second is right_leg... Parent_id is under which user current user is added.. Hope you will be understand..
    I have to write sql query for counting pairs under id "100001". i know there will be important role of parent_id for counting pairs. * what is pair( suppose if any user contains  both left_leg and right_leg id, then it is called pair.)
    I know there are three pairs under id "100001" :-
    1.  100002 and 100003
    2.  100004 and 100005
    3.  100006 and 100007
        100008 will not be counted as pair because it does not have right leg..
     But i dont know how to write sql query for this... Any help will be appreciated... This is my college project... And tommorow is the last date of submission.... Hope anyone will help me...
    Suppose i have to count pair for id '100002'. Then there is only one pair under id '100002'. i.e 100004 and 100005

    Sounds like this to me
    DECLARE @ID int
    SET @ID = 100001--your passed value
    SELECT left_leg,right_leg
    FROM table
    WHERE (user_id = @ID
    OR parent_id = @ID)
    AND left_leg IS NOT NULL
    AND right_leg IS NOT NULL

  • Better SQL Query for clients without boundaries?

    I've been using and modifying/experimenting with Chris Nackers' SQL query for missing boundaries (http://myitforum.com/myitforumwp/2011/12/07/sql-query-to-identify-missing-smsconfigmgr-boundaries/)
    below (changed to add aliases)--but this seems to mainly be showing us non-clients, as several computers that were indeed missing boundaries (using SCCM 2007 SP2 R3, and all our boundaries are protected, most are IP Range, a few IP Subnet, none AD Site) are
    not being listed, and everything in the listing has NULL SYS.Client0.
    Is there a better query to pinpoint this issue, or maybe using something (error code or log?) that would show computers that can't find a distribution point or some other evidence of not having a boundary?
    Thanks!
    SELECT DISTINCT SYS.Name0, SYS.Client0, IPA.IP_Addresses0, IPS.IP_Subnets0, SMSAS.SMS_Assigned_Sites0
    FROM dbo.v_R_System SYS
    LEFT OUTER JOIN dbo.v_RA_System_IPSubnets IPS ON SYS.ResourceID = IPS.ResourceID
    LEFT OUTER JOIN dbo.v_RA_System_IPAddresses IPA ON SYS.ResourceID = IPA.ResourceID
    LEFT OUTER JOIN dbo.v_RA_System_SMSAssignedSites SMSAS ON SYS.ResourceID = SMSAS.ResourceID
    LEFT OUTER JOIN dbo.v_RA_System_SystemOUName SOU ON SYS.ResourceID = SOU.ResourceID
    WHERE (SMSAS.SMS_Assigned_Sites0 IS NULL)
    AND (NOT (IPA.IP_Addresses0 IS NULL))
    AND (NOT (IPS.IP_Subnets0 IS NULL))
    AND SYS.Operating_System_Name_and0 LIKE 'microsoft%server%'
    ORDER BY IPS.IP_Subnets0, SYS.Name0

    I gotcha now... I think most people, myself included, rely on finding clients that are not assigned to determine if a boundary is missing. If you expect clients to not be assigned that's not going to work for you.
    WHERE (SMSAS.SMS_Assigned_Sites0
    IS NULL)
    AND (NOT (IPA.IP_Addresses0
    IS NULL))
    AND (NOT
    (IPS.IP_Subnets0 IS
    NULL))
    = This is saying show me all clients not assigned but they do have an IP address and they do have a subnet discovered.
    In the case of CM12 it is actually possible for that not to work anyway because you can have separate boundaries for client assignment and content lookup.
    I am not aware of any query that can compare the IP address, AD Site and IP subnet from each client to what's configured in boundaries and find machines that do not fall into any boundary.

  • Query for all hours in a month?

    Hello,
    I was hoping someone might be able to assist. I need to query for all the hours in a user specified date range (generally a month). For example,
    a query such as:
    select all hr_end from dual where start_date between '01-feb-2010' and '28-feb-2010'
    that returns:
    feb 01 2010 01:00
    feb 01 2010 02:00
    feb 01 2010 03:00
    feb 28 2010 23:00
    feb 28 2010 24:00
    Ideally, I want to be able to run this query within a WITH clause such that I can reference the temporary table/ list of hours in a subsequent select statement quickly. Something like:
    With
    all_hrs_in_month AS
    select .....
    where start_date between '01-mar-2010' and '31-mar-2010'
    I've looked around for similar questions, but have only found ones for all the 'days' in a month using level, connect by, row_num, for which I'm honestly not too familiar with and wasn't clear as to how I could modify to my needs.
    Greatly appreciate your help with this request.

    Hi,
    Welcome to the forum!
    WITH     got_parameters  AS
         SELECT     TO_DATE ('01-mar-2010 00:00', 'dd-mon-yyyy hh24:mi')     AS start_date
         ,     TO_DATE ('31-mar-2010 23:00', 'dd-mon-yyyy hh24:mi')     AS end_date
         FROM     dual
    ,     all_hrs          AS
         SELECT     start_date + ( (LEVEL - 1)
                        / 24
                        )     AS hr
         FROM    got_parameters
         CONNECT BY     LEVEL <= 1 + ( 24
                                   * (end_date - start_date)
    SELECT       TO_CHAR (hr, 'DD-Mon-YYYY HH24:MI')     AS h
    FROM       all_hrs
    ORDER BY  hr
    ;Output:
    H
    01-Mar-2010 00:00
    01-Mar-2010 01:00
    01-Mar-2010 02:00
    01-Mar-2010 03:00
    31-Mar-2010 22:00
    31-Mar-2010 23:00Notice that start_date and end_date don't have to span then entire month; they don't even have to be in the same month.
    If you'd rather specify just one parameter (such as a single string containing the month and year):
    WITH     got_parameters  AS
         SELECT     TRUNC ( TO_DATE (:p_month, 'mon-yyyy')
                    , 'MONTH'
                    )          AS start_date
         ,     TRUNC ( ADD_MONTHS ( TO_DATE (:p_month, 'mon-yyyy')
                                 , 1
                    , 'MONTH'
                    )          AS end_date
         FROM     dual
    ,     all_hrs          AS
         SELECT     start_date + ( (LEVEL - 1)
                        / 24
                        )     AS hr
         FROM    got_parameters
         CONNECT BY     LEVEL <= ( 24          -- NOTE: Not adding 1 here
                               * (end_date - start_date)
    SELECT       TO_CHAR (hr, 'DD-Mon-YYYY HH24:MI')     AS h
    FROM       all_hrs
    ORDER BY  hr
    How It Works
    SELECT  LEVEL  AS n
    FROM    dual
    CONNECT BY  LEVEL <= x
    ;Produces a result set consiting of the integers 1, 2, 3, ..., x.
    There's nothing magical about the dual table; you can use any table AS LONG AS THE TABLE HAS ONLY ONE ROW .
    The other examples you saw probably just added this to a starting date, to get successive days, since, in Oracle date arithmetic, dt+n is a DATE n days after dt.
    Your case is slightly more complicated, because you want to add hours, not days. Since an hour is 1/24 of a day, we multiply by 24 to find how many integers to genereate, and divide by 24 when adding that number to the base date.
