    Hi friends...
    I've read the last post...
    The problem that I have is as follow....
    1. I have installed on my machine MySQL 5.0 Server running
    1.1 I have a database called "base1"
    1.2 User "root", password "works"
    1.3 I have the following sentence to connect it using JDBC
    Connection con = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:mysql://localhost/base1", "root", "works");
    More notes:
    - I use the JDBC 5.0
    - My Machine is a Windows XP SP2 Pentium 3.0 512Mb
    and it connects
    but I have this environment to develop applications, now that I want to connect to Production Environment happens the following:
    2 The Production database is mounted on a Linux Server with MySQL 3.2.
    2.1 I change the sentences as follow:
    Connection con = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:mysql://192.168.0.7/base1", "user", "password");
    2.3 But a message appears when I run the Java Program:
    java.sql.SQLException:Access denied for user: '[email protected]' (Using password: YES)
    2.4 As you can see it changes the IP Address...
    More notes:- I have the MySQL Query Browser and I got connection.
    - The IP that display the Error Message is my Second IP configurated on my Network Properties.
    - Server is a Pentium 4 3.0 GHz 2Gb Linux Red Hat 3.0
    I leave this case for the spider... I hope that somebady has the solution.
    What is the problem? Why the JDBC doesn't respect the IP that I wrote.

    well it's pretty weird, because I'm trying to make some kind of pattern with the install file I made, although... the install file works and looks like this
    import java.io.*;
    import java.net.*;
    import java.sql.*;
    public class install
        public static void main(String[] args) {
            try {

                   //older java implementations
                   //org.gjt.mm.mysql.Driver or com.mysql.jdbc.driver
                Class.forName("org.gjt.mm.mysql.Driver").newInstance();
            } catch (Exception ex) {
                ex.printStackTrace();
              try {
              System.out.println("write the user used to access the mysql database with Devil Chat");
              String user = Keyboard.readString(); //read mysql username from keyboard
              System.out.println("write the password used to access the mysql database with Devil Chat");
              String pass = Keyboard.readString(); //read password for user from keyboard
              Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:mysql://127.0.0.1:3306/mysql", user, pass);

  • RE: Database (SQL-SERVER) access problem

    Have you used NT Control Panel/ ODBC to set up the ODBC data source name?
    You have to define the data source (database) SecTrade as well as the
    driver to be used (SQL Server). This can be done by selecting the Add
    button on the Data Sources screen in Control Panel/ ODBC.
    Hope this helps.

    Hi Forte-Users,
    We have a setup a Sql-Server database on a NT server. In the Forte
    EConsole,
    we have
    setup a ODBC-type Resource for this server, named SERVER2_ODBC. This NT
    server
    is configured as a Client Node in the active Forte environment. Note
    that
    Server2 is not
    the Forte server, but has Forte installed. There is another NT server
    which
    acts as the
    Forte server. NODEMGR and Sql-Server are running on SERVER2.
    In our application, we have a DBSession SO with the database source
    as SERVER2_ODBC, Userid=ForteInstructor. When running the application,
    Forte
    throws an exception, the gist of it being as follows:
    USER ERROR: (This error was converted)
    Failed to connect to database: SecTrade, username: ForteInstructor.
    [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no
    default
    driver specified
    We have tried
    1) Installing ODBC drivers on the NT server (Server2)
    2) Accessing local databases from Forte clients which works fine
    3) Accessing the Sql-Server database through Isqlw (Sql-Server Client
    s/w) -
    It works.
    Could someone suggest what we should try to get rid of this problem?
    Thanks for any help,

  • VI Server access denied

    I am receiving "LabVIEW: VI Server access denied." from TestStand 2010. This is using LabVIEW 2011 on Windows 7 but only started happening after I had transitioned to using the Run-Time engine for a while.
    I ran into this when trying to convert back to the development system for the configuration adapter due to needing to update some 130 steps worth of prototypes which takes a long time to do while running the run-time engine version.
    Thanks

    Thanks for the response Alexandra,
    1) The project and VI both run perfectly fine on the same system from the development environment.
    2) The LabVIEW module is a conglomeration of various instrument calls to accumulate some amount of data which is returned to Test Stand for Pass/Fail status and logging.
    3) I can run the sequence with TestStand LabVIEW Adapter configured for the RunTime, setting the LabVIEW adapter to Development System is when the VI Server access denied appears.
    4) System has always been a development system, I just switched the adapter over to RunTime engine to speed up operation of the test, now I am in integration with hardware and made a few changes that need to be updated in the sequence. I brute forced the update with runtime, but it took several hours to do for a 140+ step test.
    5) The only additional toolkit for LabVIEW is the FPGA one I believe, everything else is standard LabVIEW Professional.
    Thanks,
    James

  • Restrict SQL Server access on IP and/or Hostname base

    I need to implement a security policy for machine-2-machine accounts that requires to limit their access to database, only if it is from the IP (or hostname) of the application server that hosts the application. It has been decided because is a native feature
    provided on Oracle, I can't find anything similar on SQL Server, please can you help me to address this requirement according Microsoft best practices?
    Thank you
    Andrea

    regarding firewall solution, if I must reach a DB from my workstation with AD integrated authentication but not with a standard login, normally used by a Java application on ux environment application server, how can I manage it with a fw rule? (I use mixed
    authentication on SQL Server because I have mixed platforms)
    If you want rules like: account X but account Y may access the server from machine A, a firewall solution becomes difficult, since the firewall don't know what is in the packets they block.
    However, it is still doable, provided that the server has multiple NIC. Each NIC will be an endpoint in SQL Server. You use the firewall to configure which machines that can access the IP address at all. But you only grant CONNECT permission on the endpoint
    for accounts that should be permitted to use that IP address.
    I noticed on various forums possible custom solutions based on logon triggers, I think it can be havy in terms of performance in cases (like mine) when there are tens of databases and hundreds of logins to manage in logon phase, checking whitelist tables
    on every logon, moreover I monitored the actual situation with server side traces on login event and I captured many records where hostname field is NULL and it seems it can be managed from the application code side, so this check can be bypassed.
    Yes, looking at the hostname is out of the question. You will need to look at the IP address, as I mentioned.
    I am not going deny that a logon trigger is a heavier solution than a firewall. There is also the risk that if you mess it up, you lock yourself out. This can be sorted out by using the DAC, but it can cause some panic...

    Things I have tried to resolve this:
    1. Verified that my account is a Domain Admin.
    2. Attempt to connect locally without inputting any information for server/user/pw
    3. Attempt to connect remotely using server/user/pw
    I always receive the same error message and log: Access of system information failed!
    Has anyone else run into this issue?

    Update to this:
    There were some invalid user accounts added to the Local Administrators group only showing up as a GUID. This caused the enumeration of the group to fail and generate the error in my original post. Removing those user accounts from the Administrators group
    got past the enumeration error.
    However, now when attempting to connect to the servers (locally or remotely) I get this error:
    6/27/2013 10:24:24 AM Info: Connect to WMI, \root\cimv2

  • Oracle dblink to sql server, accessing multiple database on same sql server under one dblink

    Hi, we have successfully managed to set up an Oracle dblink over to sql server and retrieve data.
    The sql server user were using via the dblink has access to more than one database on the same sql server
    But the question is how in oracle (if at all possible) do you prefix the sql statement to access this ?
    Eg:
    Sqlserver_prod has user sqlserver_user which appears to be set up as default database on sqlserver_db1
    But we have select access to sqlserver_db2
    all work fine as sqlserver_user
    select * from  table_fromdb1
    select * from  dbo.table_fromdb1
    select * from  sqlserver_db1.dbo.table_fromdb1
    as does
    select * from  sqlserver_db2.dbo.table_fromdb2
    over in Oracle
    Oracle_db has dblink sqlserver_prod.world connecting as sqlserver_user
    all working fine
    select * from "table_fromdb1"@sqlserver_prod
    select * from "dbo"."table_fromdb1"@sqlserver_prod
    but how (if at all possible) do I access from oracle
    sqlserver_db2.dbo.table_fromdb2
    without having to create a new sqlserver_db2_user referenced in a new dblink
    if oracle to oracle would be
    select * from remote_oracle_schema.table@remote_oracle_db

    Hi, ok cheers, I see, original gateway was connecting purely at host_name level
    HS_FDS_CONNECT_INFO=sqlserver_host
    Planning to amend this to be
    HS_FDS_CONNECT_INFO=sqlserver_host//sqlserver_db1
    With exisiting dblink
    And to create new gateway
    HS_FDS_CONNECT_INFO=sqlserver_host//sqlserver_db2
    With new exisitng dblink,will see how we get on
    Cheers again

  • Clients can't save to the server, access denied no permissions, how to give permission?

    I set up my school lab with an xserv 10.6.8. Everything was fine in terms of the users logging in to their respective groups. However, they weren't able to save anything to the server , they had access denied errors or you don't have permissions, even the keychain app was giving the users an error that said it couldn't save  to reset to default values. Anyhow, I tried using the Server Admin application to propagate permissions, selected the hard drives and propagated permissions by clicking all the selections in the dialog. Now, the server wont start and only shows the grey Apple and the spinning gear, please help, I am so frustrated, I was so close to have this server running. All I want is to be able to have the students in my school log in to the server from the computer lab and save their work on the server. Simple service, I have running AFP, OD, DNS and SMB. I don't knowe if SMB is neccesary either.

    Yes, I created the users using WGM home tab and then clicking on the create home now and then save. No, I didn't use terminal with the command, maybe that's one of the things I needed to do so that the problems with permissions wouldn't show. I used the secondary HD to create the sharepoint folder "Users" and that's the folder I used when creating the home directory for that specific part of the setup. My setup is pretty simple, I just want a Groups folder(sharepoint) where I can store the diffrent grades or classes that come to my lab and I have a "Users" folder(sharepoint) where the kids can use to login and save their work. Later, I may add another folder to place videos so that the folder can mount when they log in and all they have to do is go to the folder and double click on the video. Can you ellaborate more on how to use the command with terminal? Would the "a" be the name of the sharepoint? I created the folders using Server Admin, I believe that clicking on the sharepoint button, there is another button that says "new", would that be the correct way to do it? When I get back to school tomorrw I will post more specifics on the way that I setup the server and maybe it will give you a better picture of how I did it.
    I really appreciate your assistance, I am trying to use the limited knowledge I have to setup this lab which will enable me to do a lot of things with the kids and make their lives easier, so they don't have to bring flash drives to save their work. Thanks again for your time!

  • DNS Server - Access Denied

    Good Day,
    My Old DC crashed, I still have 2 GC servers I am now trying to add another DC, but when I try and setup the DNS role on one of the exsiting servers, I get access denied.
    Any assistance would be appreciated.

    Hi,
    This might be due to a missing domain naming master server but I need more information about where exactly you see this error. Also please provide the full text of the error including any error codes.
    If the domain naming master is missing, you can try to seize this role. First you should try to determine if and where it exists.

  • SQL Server access to MDB databases slow

    We had a stored procedure with one section that populates a single variable in the SP from a query to a MSAccess database MDB file via a linked server. It was running from SQL Server MSDE 2000 and it was fast on an XP system.
    We transferred to a SQL Server 2012 database on a 32bit Win 7 machine and the same SP will time out before returning a simple result.  Code calls a SP and within that SP is a call to another SP where it shows the timeout error message.  I
    can run the exact same SP in SSMS on a Win 7 box hitting the very database where the error occurs during the program code execution and it returns results in less than one second.
    I've heard folks talk about this being a known problem.  Does anyone have a workaround to resolve this issue?
    TIA
    Harry

    Hello,
    You can capture the whole process using SQL Server Profiler and verify exactly how much time is taking every instruction. You will be able to identify which instruction
    is giving the timeout, and probably a better description of the error.
    The following article may help you use SQL Server Profiler.
    http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/21371/SQL-Server-Profiler-Step-by-Step
    Try to capture all default events and error events. Select all columns.
    Hope this helps.

    Hi Antonia,
    Please ensure you specify the correct server name, and check SQL Serer instance was started.
    A good article about UDL connect to SQL DB for your reference, please see:

    In addition, this issue also might be caused by the windows fire setting. Please also take a look at the following article regarding configure the Windows Firewall to allow SQL Server Access:
