SQL to check number of extents avail for a segment in a tbs

Does anyone have SQL to compare a segment's next_extent to the size and number of free chunks in dba_free_space? Currently I am taking the next_extent * some factor (e.g. 4) and comparing it the SUM of space in dba_free_space. However, the problem with this is it does not account for the size of the free chunks.
Thanks.

I have some good sql for managing this stuff. I'll email it to you tomorrow.

  • Current number of movies available for rent

    Has anyone counted recently? Not sure how to properly find this out: going to Power Search and clicking "available to rent" and search lists over 2000 movies, but I'm not sure if I'm seeing repeats. Not long ago I was hearing reports of around 1000.
    If anyone has counted (or knows the proper way to figure this out), that would be great.

    1. Because whoever holds the copyright to it in Chile hasn't allowed Apple to make it available for rental there.
    2. If the content's in your iTunes library, you can play it normally. You can't make new purchases from a country's iTunes Store outside that country.

  • How to check number of elements available in RT FIFO?

    Hi,
        Without using READ FIFO function is there a way to check the number of elements in RT FIFO? I am looking a function like the get queue status function VI.
        Thanks a lot!
        Regards,
        Tom
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    RT FIFO Read and Write functions have had a "# elements" output since LabVIEW 8.2.  You should be able to utilize that output to determine how many elements are left in the FIFO.  If you have a version of LabVIEW previous to LabVIEW 8.2, you can utilize the attached VI to determine how many elements are left.

    Which driver should i use for it?
    Right now I am using ODBC driver.
    Please suggest me a few links where i could get the best driver(thin driver) for SQL server.
    regards

    Hi,
    best driver available for MicroSoft SQL server?i-net software has written a solid JDBC driver based on TDS. The trial version is limited to a single connection. http://www.inetsoftware.de/English/Produkte/JDBC_Overview/ms.htm
    jTurbo provides jdbc driver for MS SQL Server (www.jTurbo.com).
    Merant technologies also provides jdbc driver for MS SQL Server. Find more details at http://www.microsoft.com/sql/downloads/2000/jdbc.asp.Microsoft licenses MERANT's JDBC driver for SQL Server 2000.
    I cannot comment which one is the best driver. It depends on your project requirements and the buget alloted.

  • Check Number and F110

    Hi,
    While running F110, the check number is not picked up from my check lot I gave in the print variant. (I am giving Payment method, Bank account number, Account number and check lot number, along with all the other selections in the print variant).
    1. Any suggestions why the check number is not picking up?
    2. For my ABAP reports, I need check number Table and field names. What table do I get the check numbers from?
    Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

    Hi Sam,
    Go to TCode FCHI Here you need to provide check no range for a lot no. IF check number range is available then check which lot no is being available. Give that lot number in variant maintained for F110. then try executing it.
    If above does not solved your problem try this also:
    Put a break-point in your print program & go to TCode FCH7 then reprint any available check. This time you will be in Debuggin mode. no check the structure REGUD-CHECT. weather check no is 0 or not?
    If this initial then it means Strucutre is not filled. In this case open another session & go to TCode SE11 & provide table name PAYR. in this table check weather check no is initial or not. If it is initial then there is some some problem in defining Check lot numbers.

  • Reprinting check with same check number

    How to reprint the check with same check number. In transaction FCH7, I am able to reprint the check but it gives another check number. Is there another transaction code to reprint the same check with the same check number
    thankyou

    Hello Sheena,
    please disregard the last answer, that works for SAP Business One...
    For your situation:
    If you reprint checks with transaction FCH7, you need to void the
    previous check (with a void reason) and afterwards the system would
    assign a new check number.
    However, if you do it through transaction FBZ5 (print form for Payment
    Document), the system will ask you, if you would like to print an
    existing check number or would like to get a new check number assigned
    (Check -> print->"Check information already exists.
    Reprint old check number or assign new check number?" => print with old
    check number).
    As per you comments, I assume that the second option (via transaction
    FBZ5), is the way you should use to reprint checks without getting
    a new check number assigned.
    Sorry for the confusion...
    Cheers,
    Jon

  • Maximum number of extents

    I have read that a big number of extents might not be a problem but I have some tables with very big number of extents.
    For example I have a table which size is 23 gB and has 190000 extents.
    Can this big numebr of extents affect performance?
    The table has 262 million records.
    It's an 11g 11.2.0.2 database (migrated from 10g).
    We are looking at the number of extents becuase we are encountering performance problems => some jobs on this table are very slow and showing huge waits on "db file sequential read".
    We recently also changed DB_FILE_MULTIBLOCK_READ_COUNT parameter to stick with Oracle's default (we unset it, Oracle set it to 128 by himself).

    user11181920 wrote:
    23G / 190000 ~= 128K average extent size which quite small.
    your DB_FILE_MULTIBLOCK_READ_COUNT is 128 blocks and block size is most likely 8K.
    DB_FILE_MULTIBLOCK_READ_COUNT ~= 1MB
    this means on full table scans/index scans oracle will read by 128K chunks if extents are not adjacent, where on larger extents it would read by 1MB.
    for indexed access an extent size would not matter.
    I would do tuning of jobs to use index access, if it is impossible do a defrag.Aren't the waits described a symptom of already using indices?
    What's all this about defrag?
    It could be they are using the wrong index, could be simply too much work is being done, could be some other processes are doing too much unnecessary work, etc.
    I think this calls for AWR or Statspack to get an overall idea what is wrong, and the usual tuning methodology for the problem queries and and any that the reports show as suspect (or anything else curious that shows up).
    Also, was this table always LMT or was it converted at some point? (Which could be a legitimate reorg issue)
    Also, how was the data loaded? See http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/issue-archive/2007/07-may/o37asktom-101781.html for the context of that question.

  • Search string for 3 digit check number?

    For electronic bank statement,uploading file contains 3-digit check number eg;416
    but in FCHI-Check lots we defined six-digit check numbers.
    so system is not able match the check nos. as they are different, and auto reco is not happening.
    we have gone through search strings documentation but
    we dont know what to enter in search strings configuration.
    Kindly help me what to enter for 3 digit check no?
    Edited by: KUMAR on Dec 2, 2008 1:35 PM

    You'll first need to create search strings to "find" the check numbers in the note to payee information.  Then when you set up the search string use, you'll assign a mapping prefix of "000000" to format the check numbers with the leading zeros so they are 6-digits long.
    To set up the search string, you'll need to look at the note to payee information at the text either before or after the check numbers.  Let's say, for example, that the word "CHECK" always preceeds the check numbers in the note to payee:
    CHECK 456
    or
    CHECK 1234
    Because you have some check numbers coming through the bank statement as 3 digits and some as 4 digits, I'm thinking you'll need to set up two search strings, one with search string value "CHECK ###" and the following mapping:
    C ->
    H ->
    E ->
    C ->
    K ->
       ->
    -> #
    -> #
    -> #
    And the second with search string "CHECK ####" and the following mapping:
    C ->
    H ->
    E ->
    C ->
    K ->
       ->
    -> #
    -> #
    -> #
    -> #
    In the search string use, you assign each search string to the relevant company code, house bank and account ID. You can also leave these fields blank, in which case the search strings will be relevant for all company codes, house banks and accounts IDs.  You'll also need to populate the interpretation algorithm with the same algorithm that you assigned in the Global EBS config for the external transaction for checks.  The target field should be Check-/DME Reference-/Assignment number.  Fill in the mapping prefix with 000000 - and be sure to check the Active indicator.  If you are on ECC 6.0, you will also have fields for external transaction and +- (these fields may also be available in ECC 5.0 - but I know they are not available in 4.7 or prior).  If you see these fields, you can fill them in to further limit when the search string is used - for example, only for Negative transactions or only for Negative transactions with a particular external transaction value.
    Let me know if you have any other questions.

    Shannon

    This could be a number of things, did you start with the obvious things like reboot the server? Review log files: like smsexec.log?
    Are you running McAfee on the server?

    I would still suggest that adding appropriate constraints (well, logical constraints) to the table is the right way to go.
    When you get the file back, you load the data into the table. If the constraint is satisfied, the data is loaded. If the constraint is violated, the loader gets an error, writes the affected data to another table, to another file, etc. That way, the data in the database is always correct and you have a log of the rows that were bad.
    create table t( status varchar2(10), cost number );
    create or replace trigger trg_t

    on t
    for each row

    Either way, you're better off, in general, rejecting invalid records than trying to expend a lot of effort reporting on them.

  • Invoice number and Check number for FI

    Hi Friends,
                    What does the above for FI mean? I need to pull the invoice number and the check numbers from AP and report . My question how do I recognize
    which field from 0FI_GL_4 stores this information? Any advice would be greatly appreciated,
    Assumption : Are the check numbers in FI nothing but the document numbers for a particular document type?
    Thank you,

    FI means Financial accounting.  0FI_GL_4 does not contain the check number as a standard field in the extractor. You would have to modify the extractor. the check number is in the table PAYR field CHECT linked to the clearing document  number VBLNR . The clearing doc is in 0FI_GL_4 so that is your connection. You probably would be futher ahead to create an extracotr for PAYR then connect to your data from 0FI_GL_4 in an MP or info set.  By the way 0FI_AP_4 is the extractor for accounts payable so you may want to use this instead. Depends if  like they are requsting accounts payable information. The invoice number will be in the reference field which is XBLNR.
    pls assign points to say thanks.
