SQLEXEC Cannot Pass Out Parameter to Filter at Extract Parameter File

Hi all,
I would like to do a record existing filtering by lookup demo.xx2 table at extract process in order to reduce the extract record to trail file. After setup, it is fail to pass out the ck_exist.existcnt from the SQL to filter. I tried to use procedure and the result is the result. Am I setup incorrect? Please advice
EXTRACT XTST01
USERID ogg@db, PASSWORD oracle
RMTHOST ogg, MGRPORT 7809
RMTTRAIL /ogg/dirdat/r1
TABLE demo.xx,
SQLEXEC (ID ck_exist, QUERY "select count(1) existcnt from demo.xx2 where id_no=:v_id_no", PARAMS (v_id_no = id_no)),
FILTER (@GETVAL (ck_exist.existcnt) > 0);
Thanks for your kindly help.
Jerry

So, two options:
Figure out why the existing filter does not work
Code around it.
Since you're looking for count > 0, another way is to include HAVING (from SQL, not GG).
In this example (going to a flat file, not replicat, so add extract xtst01, sourceistable), I used the employees table with 107 records (from the HR sample schema).
EXTRACT XTST01
USERID ggs, PASSWORD ggs
--RMTHOST oel32, MGRPORT 7809
--RMTTRAIL ./dirdat/r1
FORMATASCII, NONAMES, DELIMITER '|'
EXTFILE ./dirdat/otn.txt, PURGE
TABLE SRC.EMPLOYEES,
--get records where the department count is > 10, returns about 79 out out 107
SQLEXEC (ID ck_exist, QUERY "select count(*) existcnt &
from src.employees where department_id=:v_id_no having count(*) > 10", PARAMS (v_id_no = department_id));
--,FILTER (@GETVAL (ck_exist.existcnt) > 10 );
Output to ./dirdat/otn.txt:
From Table SRC.EMPLOYEES:
# inserts: 107
# updates: 0
# deletes: 0
# discards: 0
Stored procedure ck_exist:
attempts: 107
successful: 79

  • Cannot get OUT parameter from stored procedure

    Hi,
    I am new to stored procedure programming. I wrote a simple java stored procedure as follows:
    package fvt;
    import java.sql.*;
    import java.io.*;
    public class FVTProcedures
    extends COM.ibm.db2.app.StoredProc {
    public void addRecord(int id, String name, int status)
    throws SQLException {
    java.sql.Statement stmt = null;
    java.sql.Connection con = null;
    PrintWriter pw = null;
    try {
    status =3;
    pw = new PrintWriter(new FileWriter("c:/temp/fvtproc.txt"));
    pw.println("starting...");
    // get connection
    con =getConnection();
    pw.println("Got connection");
    stmt = con.createStatement();
    stmt.execute("INSERT INTO cmtest (id, name) values (" + id + ",'"+name+"')");
    pw.println("Inserted the record");
    if (!con.getAutoCommit()) {
    con.commit();
    pw.println("Committed the connection");
    catch (SQLException sqle) {
    pw.println(sqle.getMessage());
    catch (Exception e) {
    pw.println(e.getMessage());
    finally {
    status =2;
    pw.close();
    try {
    if (stmt != null) {
    stmt.close();
    catch (SQLException sqle) {}
    try {
    if (con != null) {
    con.close();
    catch (SQLException sqle) {}
    Then I use the following sql command to create this stored procedure, especially register status as OUT parameter.
    CREATE PROCEDURE addRecord (IN id INT, IN name VARCHAR(20), OUT status INTEGER)
    FENCED LANGUAGE JAVA EXTERNAL NAME 'fvt.FVTProcedures!addRecord' PARAMETER
    STYLE DB2GENERAL
    My java program calling this stored proc is as follows:
    import java.sql.*;

    java.sql.Connection conn = null;
    CallableStatement cs = null;
    String sql = "CALL ADDRECORD(?, ?, ?)" ;
    try {
    conn = ds.getPooledConnection().getConnection();
    conn.setAutoCommit(false);
    System.out.println("Got the connection");
    cs = conn.prepareCall( sql ) ; /* con is the connection */
    System.out.println("Callable statement is prepared");
    cs.registerOutParameter(3, java.sql.Types.INTEGER);
    cs.setInt(1, 1001 );
    cs.setString(2, "1001");
    cs.execute() ;
    System.out.println("Callable statement is executed, return status: "+cs.getInt(3));
    conn.commit();
    catch(SQLException sqle) {
    sqle.printStackTrace();
    finally {
    try {
    if (cs!=null) {cs.close();}
    catch (SQLException sqle1) {
    try {
    if (conn!=null) {conn.close();}
    catch (SQLException sqle1) {
    However, the out put is always
    Callable statement is executed, return status: 0
    while i expect to be
    Callable statement is executed, return status: 2
    Can anyone tell me what's wrong with that?
    thansk,
    JST

    public void addRecord(int id, String name, int status)
    throws SQLException {
    status =3;In regular java you are never going to see this value (3) outside of that method. Java doesn't work that way.
    So unless java inside the DB works really differently from regular java, you are going to have to pass something else.

  • Problem passing OUT parameters form based on stored procedure to another form?

    Hello,
    I am unable to pass parameters of type OUT from a form based on a stored procedure to another form.
    However, I am able to pass parameters of the type IN to the other form.
    This is the code that I have under the heading
    On successful submission of a form, execute this PL/SQL block or PL/SQL procedure:
    declare
    v_partno varchar2(100);
    v_partdesc varchar2(200);
    blk varchar2(10):='DEFAULT';
    v_names varchar2(1000);
    v_values varchar2(1000);
    begin
    v_partno:=p_session.get_value_as_varchar2
    (p_block_name=>blk,p_attribute_name=>'A_PART_NO');
    v_partdesc:=p_session.get_value_as_varchar2
    (p_block_name=>blk,p_attribute_name=>'A_PART_DESC');
    v_names := '_moduleid:_show_header:pnumber:pdescription';
    v_values := '1325575336:YES:' || LTRIM(TO_CHAR(v_partno)) || ':' || LTRIM(TO_CHAR(v_partdesc)) ;
    PORTAL.wwa_app_module.link (
    p_arg_names => PORTAL.wwv_standard_util.string_to_table2(v_names),
    p_arg_values => PORTAL.wwv_standard_util.string_to_table2(v_values));
    end
    Info:
    1. Passing PART_NO (IN parameter) and PART_DESC (OUT paramter) to another form.
    2. After hitting the submit button, the second form comes up, but with only the PART_NO(type IN) field completed. The PART_DESC(type OUT) field did not get passed to the second form.
    3. The corresponding fields in the second form are pnumber & pdescription.
    4. FYI - I can see all the OUT parameters correctly, if I don't try to pass control to the second form.
    5. Portal 9.0.2 ( the version that ships with IAS 9.0.2)
    Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have been stuck here for a while now!

    Re: Error
    Passing OUT parameter to another form.
    You cannot retrieve the value of the OUT parameter from the session object because after executing your procedure,
    the value passed out using the OUT parameter is not loaded in the session object.
    But you can still achieve what you are trying in the following way.
    Let's assume that your procedure has the following str :-
    procedure proc1 (p_in in varchar2,
    p_out out varchar2)
    is
    begin
    /* your processing statements
    end;
    Say, the name of the field, in the 2nd form, where you need to pass the out parameter value is VALUE_FROM_OUT.
    1> Edit the form on procedure proc1
    2> Select the submit button in the left frame and for the PL/SQL button handler choose Submit action.
    3> In the adjacent textarea, comment out the doSubmit statement and use code given below :-
    declare
    l_p_in varchar2(32767);
    l_p_out varchar2(32767);
    l_url varchar2(2000);
    begin
    l_p_in := p_session.get_value_as_varchar2(
    p_block_name => 'DEFAULT',
    p_attribute_name => 'A_P_IN');
    execute immediate
    'begin <schema>.proc1(:b_in,:b_out); end;'
    using in l_p_in, out l_p_out;
    l_url := 'http://<host>:<port>/pls/<dad>/<portal-schema>.wwa_app_module.link?p_arg_name=_moduleid&p_arg_values=<module_id>&p_arg_names=VALUE_FROM_OUT&p_arg_values='||
    <portal-schema>.wwv_standard_util.url_encode(l_p_out);
    <portal-schema>.wwa_app_module.set_target(l_url,'CALL');
    end;
    NOTE :
    ======
    In the code given above, replace
    <schema> with the schema name that owns the procedure proc1
    <host> with webserver host
    <port> with the port of your webserver
    <dad> with the portal dad
    <portal-schema> with the name of the portal-schema
    <module_id> with the module of the 2nd form i.e. where you need to pass the value of the out variable.
    You will have to grant execute privilege on procedure proc1 to your application schema,
    if the procedure proc1 lies in a schema other than the application schema.
    4> Finish editing the form.

  • Cannot get URL web part filter to pass Parameter to List web part

    How do I wire an out-of-the-box URL web part filter to a SharePoint 2013 list (or "app" as renamed in 2013) web part when the list has a parameter?
    My SharePoint list uses a parameter because it needs a Contains filter, as in
         <Where>
          <Contains>
           <FieldRef Name="MyFieldName"/>
           <Value Type="Note">{MyParam}</Value>
          </Contains>
         </Where>
    The ParameterBinding is defined simply.
    <ParameterBinding Name="CohortParam" DefaultValue=""/>
    It has had Location="None" in the past, but another forum entry that I read suggested removing that.
    When I add the list (or "app" in SharePoint 2013) to a web part page and also add a URL Filter web part, the URL filter cannot see the parameter. The menu chain Connection >> Send Filter Values To >> [My List web part name] shows
    the dialogue. On the "Choose Connection" tab, I choose "Get Parameter Values From". Clicking the "Configure" button results in the "Configure Connection" tab having the message "The Consumer Web Part did not
    provide schema information".

    Hi Randy,
    You need to change the "MyParam" to "CohortParam", for parameterbinding element we need to add the location attribute as below codeline, then when we use the QueryString "CohortParam" with value in url, it will directly
    filter the list web part items without adding URL Filter web part.
    <ParameterBinding Name="CohortParam" Location="QueryString(CohortParam)" DefaultValue=""/>
    I attached my resutls as below image (also "MyParam" can be changed to "CohortParam" if you want), you can take a look.

  • Pass a record type vaiable in out parameter of a function in a package

    Hi All,
    1.I have created a ecod inside a package.
    2.Then created a function which has a out parameter of the above record.
    3.Now package body i'm creating a dynamic cursor .
    4.My equirement is to fetch this dynamic cursor's value into the out parameter of the function.
    I have created the below code for 1,2 and 3 but not getting how to achive the point 4.
    create package pkg
    type t_rec is recod (id number,id_name varchar2(10));
    type t_data is table of t_rec index by binary_integer;
    act_data t_data;
    funcion return_data is (dept in number,region in number,o_rec out t_data) return boolean;
    end pkg;
    create package body pkg
    funcion return_data is (dept in number,region in number,o_rec out t_data) return boolean is
    p_cur sys_refcursor;
    l_text varchar2(100);
    begin
    -- As per my requirement i have built a dynamic l_text which contains where clause by taking dept and region values.In actual i have nearly 10 in paramaters with >which i'm building a dynamic where clause in l_text. So i'm using a ref cursor.
    open p_cur for 'select id,id_name from tab1'||l_text';
    fetch p_cur bulk collect into act_data;
    exception ....
    end pkg;Now as per the code snippet i could fetch all the rows returned by p_cur into act_data.
    But how i will pass it though out parameter in the function which i will use somewhere in front end to show data.
    Please help me in this.
    Thanks in advance.

    The ref cursor interface in PL/SQL only support a static/fixed number of bind variables. So if you want to create cursors with variable number of bind values, you need to use conditional processing. E.g.

    SQL>And this approach is for external clients - where a Visual Basic or Java client program calls the database, executes the stored procedure, and receives a cursor handle in turn. And the client then fetches the output of this cursor and process it.
    There is no need to return a record type of any sorts. The client wants the cursor handle as that is the optimal and best interface for the client to receive database data.
    If the caller is not an external client, but another PL/SQL procedure, then this approach does not make much sense.
    It is important that you understand basic Oracle concepts and fundamentals. What a cursor is. What the best way is to process Oracle data. How to best use the basic features of Oracle. Without that basic understanding, you as good as a low hour Cessna pilot getting into an Airbus A400M - where the Cessna pilot would not even be able to start a single engine, never mind get the plane in the air.
    Likewise, without a basic understanding of Oracle cursors and fundamentals, you will be unable to code even a single line of sensible code. Not because you are a bad programmer. Even the best programmer in the world will be unable to write decent code, if the programmer has no idea how the environment works, what the concepts and fundamentals are. But it is fair to expect that a good programmer will no write such code, understand that there is a lack of knowledge, and address that accordingly.

    Hi Suresh,
    Thanks for the information and help. I was able to run the package with this usage.
    Now, the issue is
    I need to return a v long string by the OUT parameter so I defined the datatype of OUT parameter as CLOB.
    But, when I declare local variable to run the package with this OUT paramater I get the error :
    ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small
    ORA-06512: at line 1
    When I pass a shorter string it works.
    Kindly advise me how to resolve this issue while using CLOB as datatype of OUT parameter.

    Hi,
    I'm not quite sure what you are trying to do.
    What works: Connect the outgroup of a pre- or post-mapping process operator to the mapping output parameter operator..
    What does not work: Connect the outgroup of an operator that can return more than one row (e.g. table operator, filter, joiner ,...) to the mapping output parameter operator. The mapping output parameter just returns "one row", like a pl/sql function call.
    You cannot pass a "data stream" from one mapping to another. Maybe the pluggable mappings is what you are looking for.

    Carsten.

  • With JDBC, calling a stored procedure with ARRAY as out parameter

    Hi,
    I want to use the data type ARRAY as an out parameter in an Oracle stored procedure. I want to call the stored procedure from
    my java program using JDBC.
    The problem it's i use a 8.1.7 client to acces with oci to a 7.1.3 Database.
    With this configuration I can get back a Cursor but not an Array.
    Does it's possible ?
    Thanks for your help !

    I have to use:-
    OracleCallableStatement cs1 = (OracleCallableStatement )conn.prepareCall
    ( "{call proj_array(?)}" ) ;
    for retrieving a collection as an OUT parameter.
    This gives me the errors:-

  • Web link to pass the parameter to custom web app then update the field

    Hi,
    I have created the web link in service request object to refer Account Object. I want to let user able to select the account from web link then base on the current SR no and account that have created update the record in CRMOD. My question is how to pass the parameter out to my external web app so that they can update my SR correctly?
    Thank you

    Hi Messer,
    I have put in the syntax as below :-
    https://secure-ausomxega.crmondemand.com/OnDemand/user/AssocAccountPopup?mapBC=Service+Request&OACTRL=Account&ophi=PopupNewForm.Account+Id&pfid=PopupNewForm&OMTHD=AssocPopup&OMTGT=PopupSearchList&assocInit=Y&opht=4&OAOBJ=Service+Request&mapField=Account&ophd=PopupNewForm.Account&ophpd=3&disableclear=Y&ophr=AssocAccountPopup&assocval=&ParentType=Edit
    This pop up screen wil let the user to select the account then i will pass the account and the SR to external web app to update back the CRMOD. I am not too sure the above syntax is correct or maybe can you give some example.
    I am new in CRMOD, hope that you can advice on this.
    Thank you,
    SK

  • How to use the "out" parameter in idl

    hello.idl:
    module HelloApp
    interface Hello
    string sayHello();
    void getPass(in string name,out string pass);
    HelloServer:
    public class HelloServer
    class HelloServant extends _HelloImplBase
    public void getPass(String name,org.omg.CORBA.StringHolder pass)
    System.out.println("Server pass = " + pass);
    if (name.equals("lxh"))
    pass = new org.omg.CORBA.StringHolder("1234");
    if (name.equals("cbj"))
    pass = new org.omg.CORBA.StringHolder("5678");
    HelloClient:
    public class HelloClient
    public static void main(String args[])
    try{
    org.omg.CORBA.StringHolder Pass = null;
    if (args.length == 1)
    System.out.println("Client pass = " + args[0]);
    helloRef.getPass(args[0],Pass);
    System.out.println(Pass);
    } catch(Exception e) {
    When I run client main method with parameter "lxh",I will get a error says the getPass() parameter which has given is wrong.
    How to use the out parameter in client?

    Does this error only occurs if you pass "lxh" or always?
    Did you try passing a StringHolder Object rather than a NULL Object?
    Perhaps you can post the error message!?

  • Passing one parameter to multiple views

    Is this possible?  I would like to pass one parameter, a date field, to multiple views.  I cannot use it in the record selection, because my views do a mathematical computation which returns a single value, but I only want to select the data for a single day.
    The problem is that there are several views and I do not want to have to enter the date parameter a dozen times.

    Try to use add command and write the query like this
    select * from view where datefield={?date}
    also create another add command for the other view
    select * from view2 where datefield2={?date}
    for all the queries create the same parameter with the name {?date}
