(.sqlproj) is not supported VS 2013
Hi,
I have VS 2013 and SSDT installed . I could see create new database project template .
But when i create one, i have an errror like below
'C:\Users\___\AppData\Local\Temp\Database1.sqlproj'
cannot be opened because its project type (.sqlproj) is not supported
Please let me know what to do about this.( do i need to install sql server on the machine to get this working??).
I see that sql dlls are missing in C:\\windows\assembly.
Su
Hi Su,
Which VS2013 version did you use? For example, I use the VS2013 ultimate with update 4, I could get this project template here, I could create a simple database project in my side.
As you said that you could see this project template, I doubt that it is your VS Environment issue.
As far as I know, we don't need to install the SSDT singly, since it is included in VS setup file, so if possible, I suggest you re-install the VS2013, please select the SSDT option when you install your VS.

In addition, open your VS, Tools->Extensions and updates, please also install the update "SQL Server update for database...".

Opening xlsm files created in 2010, not supported in 2013
When opening an Excel 2010 document ending in xlsm in Excel 2013, there are columns missing. Something is happening to the macros. I'm not sure what to do and I'm getting the run-around from Microsoft direct, nobody can help. I cannot believe that I'm
the only person that's had this error. This forum is for Microsoft Project related questions. I'd recommend posting the same question in a more appropriate Excel forum.

.csproj is not supported by this installation vs 2010 + 2013
started this project at university on VS2010 now saying that .csproj files are not supported by this insatllation.. any ideas?
Hello kierans2217,
We need more details in order to help you troubleshoot this issue.
Please clarify the installed Visual Studio 2010 version or Visual Studio 2013 version. csproj is the general C# project, in order to run this project, you have to install the proper C# templates. I guess you may only installed Visual Studio Express some
versions. For example, in Visual Studio 2010, there is a version called Visual Basic 2010, It do not have C# templates.
Or you may failed to install the C# templates on your system.
To konw all of these, if you cannot describe them all, please upload your setup logs. Refer to this
place and you will see the following steps:
Download the
Microsoft Visual Studio and .NET Framework Log Collection tool
(http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=12493)
(collect.exe).
Run the collect.exe tool from the directory where you saved the tool.
The utility creates a compressed cabinet file of all the VS and .NET logs to %TEMP%\vslogs.cab.
Post the vslogs.cab file with some descriptions of your issue to the forum.
Best regards,
Barry

No sound at all - "THotkey message: Audio device is not supported"
Device Manager lists: Legacy Audio Driver and says the device is working properly. Yet I have no sound, and I have troubleshooted from almost every angle - even tried to download a new driver (RealTek) and still nothing.
My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite Pro S300M and I have Windows XP Pro.
Each time my computer boots (and this doesn't happen in safe mode) two messages appear:
THotkey: This Audio Device is not supported
and
TouchED Error
Retrieval of HotKey Failed
Error Code: 0x00031402, 0x00000002
And...as per "Jerry's" advice, I downloaded the HotKey utility and the util common modules. Still nothing. No sound.
Help ?
Thanks,
SI know this is an old post--but I came across it when I had the same problem in 2013, so I am posting the solution I found to the problem. I found that the following things resolved the problem. First--for the Thotkey problem. Turn off the hibernate option. You do this by using the power option (Settings--Control Panel--Power Options--Hibernate tab--unclick the Enable Hibernation box) and then restart your computer. For me, this resolved the THotkey message, but still no sound. Then, to resolve the no sound problem. My Satellite Pro S300-EZ1514 has a key sequence that turns speakers on and off. The ESC key shows a picture of a speaker with sound waves, a slash, and a speaker. By hitting the FN key and the ESC key together, you toggle the speakers off (a grayed out speaker image) and on (a yellow-colored speaker with sound waves). Make sure you have the speakers on (the colored image). Unfortunately, I found this solution after I had uninstalled Realtek Audio Device--downloaded new drivers--and basically spent A LOT of time researching.

Reference to database and/or server name in '' is not supported in this version of SQL Server
Hello all
I am using C# and ADO.NET (native) - Visual Studio 2013.
I am always using full qualified queries like "SELECT * FROM [database].[schema].[table]"
Obviously there is a problem when doing this against SQL Azure,
I get the following error: "Reference to database and/or server name in '' is not supported in this version of SQL Server"
Interesting fact: With SQL Management Studio, the same query works.
I need to know if this error is really a true one or not.
If yes, I can quit using SQL Azure. I would need a SQL Server and not a partial SQL Server :-)
Thanks and best regards
FrankHi,
Here are my suggestions:
1. Use partially qualified queries, because:
a. from a security standpoint, you'd want to limit your login's access across the server instance
b. in order to achieve a even better, you should specify your database as the Initial Catalog directly in the SQL Connection.
If you take into account these practices, SQL Database doesn't come with any limitation from that point of view.
However, in regard to 'With SQL Management Studio, the same query works', this is actually only partially true because if you run that query agains ADO.NET, you'll actually end up in switching databases along the query which is obviously not permitted in
SQL Database since you're running in a hosted black-box version of SQL you're not managing. It's just like running the USE <dbname> command which obviously doesn't work.

I am unable to reinstall Photoshop CS6 (I do have the serial number) on my Macbook Pro 10.9.5 (Mavericks os). and am getting the message "Installation on case-sensitive volumes is not supported. Please choose a different volume for installation." I am further told that "Adobe apps cannot be installed on case-sensitive drives, you need to Install the product onto an HFS+ or HFSJ non-case-sensitive drive."
What I don't understand is this: I originally bought and installed Photoshop CS6 back in March 2013, and it worked fine. Yesterday my hard drive had to be replaced and my computer person salvaged as much of what was on it as he could, but now I have to reinstall Photoshop. 1) Why did it work before and it's not working now? 2) Is there anything I can do that does not involve reformatting the hard drive? It means what it says. The "computer person" formatted it wrongly/ unsuitably. it needs to be formatted again.

Onedrive for business this library is not supported because it requires checkout
So installed a fresh install of Office 2013 from click to run on O365 this morning. Windows 7 Machine.
Tried to sync a library from SharePoint online using Onedrive for Business and got this error.
"this library is not supported because it requires checkout"
A number of users are already syncing this library with Office 2013 Onedrive for Business with out issue.
Any ideas anybody?Having the exact same issue.
All of my clients are using OneDrive for business (desktop App on Windows 8.1) to sync site document stores. This has been working fine for a month (new system) without issue, until...
Thanks to some licencing fun, I've ended up uninstalling a few of my clients Office products, and re-installing them with a different Office 2013 package. As part of this process I had to use the following guide to install OneDrive manually, as the
Office Pro 2013 installer included the older SkyDrive.
https://support.microsoft.com/kb/2903984?wa=wsignin1.0
All of the users I have had to perform this "downgrade" on can no longer sync a document store with a check out requirement set. As soon as I disable the requirement on the site's document store, the user can sync the document store without
issue. I can straight away re-enable the check out requirement, and the user will continue to receive changes, and sync changes they make (going through the Office check out/check in process)
All of the users still on the original office package installation have no problems if the requirement is set or not.
I have noticed a versioning difference between the two installations...
One of my original installations with OneDrive working 100%, sits at version "17.0.4023.1211"
The new installations using the guide above, install OneDrive straight to version "17.3.1171.0714"
Is this a Microsoft "Feature upgrade" to wave off some sync issues (I never had any)???

Hello,
We are experiencing some issues with SharePoint 2013 which is driving me insane.
We have a deployment with two SQL Servers (HA groups) and four SharePoint servers: 2 Application servers, and 2 Web FrontEnd servers.
We installed SSRS for SharePoint in both application servers. The disc I have used is the MSDN image of SQL Enterprise 2012 w/ SP2.
ISO name: en_sql_server_2012_enterprise_edition_with_service_pack_2_x64_dvd_4685849.iso
MD5: 003e14c55fa648ad15f8be1e2439bd06
The installation completes without any problems. We can start the SSRS SharePoint Service in the first application server without any issues. However when we try to start the second one, we get the following error:
Reporting Services scale-out deployment is not supported in this edition of Reporting Services. This edition only supports one instance of the sql reporting services service in the farm. The SQL Server Reporting Services cannot be started on
this server unless it is stopped on all other servers in the farm.
Now I am at a loss here. As I mentioned, we have used an image of SQL Server Enterprise. This is the same image we used on other environment, which worked as expected (we got no such error).
I have included the text related to the correlation error from the SP logs below.
Has anyone ever seen this issue before? Very, very strange!

I appreciate your attempt to address my concerns, but even your reply seems to ignore the fact that I have not only provided the name of the ISO, but the MD5 checksum of the ISO as well. Also this is the first time I am being asked to double-check the version
of SSRS. The first reply I got to my query simply disregarded the version mismatch.
As per your request, I have checked under the folder you have specified (C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\Web Server Extensions\15\WebServices\LogFiles), but unfortunately there are no files under this folder in neither of my two application
servers.
We only have logfiles under C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\Web Server Extensions\15\LOGS
Is there a way I can turn those logs on?
In the meantime, we run the SQL Server Discovery tool and I have attached the summary for you to see that it finds the Enterprise Edition of SQL Server:

I hope this help while we don't have any logfiles in the folder you asked me to look into. Please advise me as in how to proceed if logfiles must be generated.

I have tried to view videos created in premiere elements 10 and I get the following message: "this file type is not supported, or the required codec is not installed. When it opens there is a red screen in the monitor panel with Korean writing which also appears in the place of each clip in the video. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling premiere elements 10, but that did not have any effect on the video. Do you have any suggestions? I researched codec, but do not understand them at all.

In case you did not find it, the following is a copy/paste of the Announcement on Premiere Elements 19/NVIDIA GeForce
that appears at the top of this forum.
Premiere Elements 10 NVIDIA Video Card Driver Roll Back
If you are a Premiere Elements 10 user whose Windows computer uses a NVIDIA GeForce video card and you are experiencing
Premiere Elements 10 display and/or unexplained program behavior, then your first line of troubleshooting needs to be rolling
back the video card driver version instead of assuring that it is up to date.
Since October 2013 to the present, there have been a growing number of reports about display and unexplained workflow
glitches specific to the Premiere Elements 10 user whose Windows computer has a NVIDIA GeForce video card. If this applies
to you, then the “user to user” remedy is to roll back the NVIDIA GeForce video card driver as far as is necessary to get rid of
the problems. The typical driver roll back has gone back as far as March – July 2013 in order to get a working Premiere
Elements 10. Neither NVIDIA nor Adobe has taken any corrective action in this regard to date, and none is expected moving forward.
Since October 2013, the following thread has tried to keep up with the Premiere Elements 10 NVIDIA reports
http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1317675
Older NVIDIA GeForce drivers can be found

A February 2014 overview of the situation as well as how to use the older NVIDIA GeForce drivers for the driver roll back can be found

Thank you.Hi,
QOS implementation has radically changed since the advent of
sup-7 & later
You no longer set mls qos as qos is on the engine by default.
Please see the following links
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/switches/catalyst-4500-series-switches/white_paper_c11-539588.html
"Ingress QoS: Default Actions
First and foremost, QoS does not need to be enabled on the Supervisor Engine, it is on by default in compliance with the MQC construct.
When a packet arrives at an interface, there are two options to take into consideration: is there a policy attached or not? If the packet arrives with or without a marking and there is not a policy attached to the interface, packets will flow through the switch untouched. There are no questions as to where the packet came from or if it has a valid marking. If the packet arrives with or without a marking, and a policy is attached to the interface, the packet will only then be subject to the policy classification."
And the config guide
