SRID 25833 (ETRS89) not in Oracle 9i

Hello,
I cannot find SRID 25833 in the table mdsys.cs_srs in my Oracle 9i database.
Can I add it manually (how?) and will it work?

Yes.
Take a look at:

  • HELP! Can not install Oracle 8.1.5 w/ RedHat 6.1!

I can not get Oracle 8.1.5 to install onto Linux RedHat 6.1. The
Oracle installation script generates several errors. I have
tried several attempts, using different options, but they all
    generate errors.
Please help. The Oracle Installation scripts appear to be very
buggy... or perhaps they are incompatible with the standard
RedHat 6.1 release. Either way, it is very frustrating.
I have documented one of my (failed) installation attempts below.
Does anyone have any words of wisdom?
I am installing Oracle onto a Dell Latitude CPi PC w/ 128MB RAM,
a 366MHz Pentium II, and RedHat 6.1 (using the standard Linux
2.2.12-2 kernel). RedHat was installed using the standard "Gnome
    Workstation" configuration.
    The Oralce CD is labeled:
    "Oralce 8i Enterprise Edition
    Release 8.1.5
    for Linux
    (c) Oracle Corporation 1999"
I got this CD about one week ago at Oracle OpenWorld '99 in Los
Angeles... it should be their "latest & greatest" version so far.
    1. Pre-Installation and ./runInstall
I created an "oracle" Unix account w/ groups "oinstall" (the
primary group) and "dba" (a secondary group).
I created directories /u01 through /u04, belonging to oracle.
I setup .cshrc and sourced it, containing:
    umask 022
    setenv DISPLAY `hostname`:0
    xhost +
    setenv ORACLE_BASE /u01/app/oracle
    setenv ORACLE_HOME ${ORACLE_BASE}/product/8.1.5
    setenv ORACLE_SID cprtest
    setenv PATH ${ORACLE_HOME}/bin:${PATH}
    setenv LD_LIBRARY_PATH ${ORACLE_HOME}/lib
    setenv NLS_LANG US7ASCII
    I downloaded jre116_v5 and installed to /usr/local/jre.
Finally, I executed (from the "oracle" Unix account):
    cd /mnt/cdrom
    ./runInstall
Problem: I got the error (from ./runInstall):
Initializing Java Virtual Machine from /usr/local/jre/bin/jre.
    Please wait...
    Error in CreateOUIProcess(): -1
    : Bad address
Workaround: Executed the following commands instead:
    cd /mnt/cdrom/install/linux
    ./runIns.sh
    3. runIns.sh and root.sh
I selected the following options (from ./runIns.sh):
    Source: /mnt/cdrom/stage/products.jar
    Destination: /u01/app/oracle/product/8.1.5
    Oracle 8i Enterprise Edition 8.1.5.0.0
    Typical (585MB)
Installable Components: Oralce Intelligent Agent 8.1.5.0.0
    Global Database Name: cprtest.parkrussell.com
    SID: cprtest
    Directory for Database Files: /u02
Then (when instructed by ./runIns.sh), I attempted to execute
    (from the
    "root" Unix account):
    cd /u01/app/oracle/product/8.1.5
    ./root.sh
    Problem: I got the error:
    "bash: ./root.sh: Permission denied"
The execute bit was not set.
    Workaround: I executed:
    chmod a+x root.sh
    ./root.sh
    5. Configuration Tools
The Oracle Installer (./runIns.sh) attempted to execute:
    A. Net8 Configuration Agent
    B. Oracle Database Configuration Agent
Problem: The "Oracle Database Configuration Agent" failed with
    the following error message:
"One or more tools have failed. It is recommended but not
required that these tools succeed for this installation.
You can now select these tools, read its details to examine
why they have failed, fix those problems, and retry them.
Or, you can click "Next" to continue."
When I selected the "Oracle Database Configuration Agent" for
more info, I got the following additional details (as the cause
    of the error):
"A required command line argument is missing."
    The log file
    "/u01/app/oracle/oraInventory/logs/installActions.log" recorded:
"Command which is being spawned is /usr/local/jre/bin/jre
    -Duser.dir=/u01/app/oracle/product/8.1.5/assistants/dbca/jlib

Workaround: There is obviously nothing I can do to fix this
problem. It appears to be an internal bug in ./runIns.sh.
Therefore, I selected "Next" and executed "dbassist" directly.
    6. dbassist
    I executed:
    dbassist
Problem: I got the following error:
    "JNLS Execution:oracle.ntpg.jnls.JNLSException
Unable to find any National Character Sets. Please
    check your Oracle installation."
Workaround: Press "OK" and ignore the error.
    7. dbassist (cont.)
    I selected the following options:
    Create database
    Typical
Copy existing database files from the CD
    Global Database Name: cprtest.parkrussell.com
    SID: cprtest
Problem: I got the following error:
"CD-ROM drive not detected on this system.
    Database not created."
(Note: I've been running the installation scripts from the
CDROM drive this entire time. "df" shows the CDROM drive
mounted on /mnt/cdrom. "ls /mnt/cdrom" works too.)
Workaround: Abort (which generated the additional error: "Unable
to create database. DBCA-00003: No CD-ROM drive detected.") and
run dbassist again, this time using different parameters.
    8. dbassist, again
I executed "dbassist" again and selected the following options:
    Create database
    Typical
    Create new database files
    Hybrid
    Concurrently connected users: 5
Options: Oralce interMedia, Oralce JServer, and iM demos
    Global Database Name: cprtest2.parkrussell.com
    SID: cprtest2
    Create database now
Problem: I got the following error:
    "ORA-01012: not logged on"
    Workaround: Try, try again.
    9. dbassist, one last time
Executed "dbassist" once more and selected the following options:
    Create database
    Typical
    Create new database files
    Hybrid
    Concurrently connected users: 5
Options: Oralce interMedia, Oralce JServer, and interMedia
    demos
    Global Database Name: cprtest3.parkrussell.com
    SID: cprtest3
    Output creation script
Then, I executed (from the "oracle" Unix account):
    cd /u01/app/oracle/product/8.1.5/install
    setenv ORACLE_SID cprtest3
    ./sqlcprtest3.sh
Problem: I got the following output:

    Workaround: Beats me.
    10. sqlplus
I attempted to execute sqlplus, but got the following error
    message:
    "/u01/app/oracle/product/8.1.5/bin/sqlplus: Permission denied."
The execute bit was not set.
    Workaround: I executed:

    sqlplus
I gave up for now... there were just too many things wrong with
this installation, starting with the very first command I was
    supposed to execute (./runInstaller).
I can't fathom why Oracle's installation script has so many bugs.
Am I just doing something terribly wrong?
    Please help.

I'm using enlightenment version 0.15.5-41, which is more recent
than the 0.15.5-37 version (containing the Oracle installer
patch) that you recommended. Unfortunately, it fails when using
    this version.
I also tried installing Oracle using twm, with enlightenment
    disabled. This didn't help either.
Furthermore, the errors that I'm encountering in the OUI are
not just toward the end of the installation. They happen from
the very beginning, right after I enter "./runInstall", and
continue every step of the way.

In Oracle 10g, the default alocated unit of Oracle ASM is 1MB. But the Oracle ducumentation states that "To ensure a higher probability of one

At least twice the size does not mean exactly the doubled size.
There is no contradiction between the documentation and your observation in this case.

Our application on Linux loads the Notes client libraries and then the Oracle client libraries. The application will crashes when connectimg to an Oracle server. We have circumvented the problem for the time being by making sure that we load the Oracle libraries before Notes, but we cannot go with that as a long term solution.
In my opinion the Oracle library is wrongly linked since all the T_* functions are defined in libnnz11.so. When we load Oracle first, the loader debug trace shows the correct fixups. When we load Notes first, the loader trace shows the incorrect fixups. We are using dlopen(libor9i.so, RTLD_LOCAL) for Oracle and dlopen(libnotes.so, RTLD_LOCAL) for Notes. libor9i.so has a dependency on libclntsh.so.10.1.
An opinion would really be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    John Unsworth

    Thanks again.
We don't have an Oracle support contract because we do not use Oracle ourselves. We supply an application that synchronises data between multiple data servers and server types, of which Oracle is one and Notes is another, as well as LDAP servers and many other types.
Producing a full resolved binary is therefore not an option since the types of data server are configured when the apploication is installed, and then the client software for each server is loaded as required.
The end user of the application supplies the client libraries and has a support contract for the servers, in particular Oracle and Notes in this case. So the other option is for the end user to raise a ticket using his support contract, but he is reluctant to do that since he considers that this is our problem as we supply the application that is having the problem. So we are in a dead water area. We do not want to take out a support contract just to get what is an Oracle product problem resolved. I imagine that this problem is something that has not been encountered before, because our use of the client library in conjunction with other client libraries is probably unusual.
So that is why I am hoping, without any success so far, that someone from Oracle will pick this up.

Most likely, the OCI libraries could not be loaded.
Before continuing down this path, is there any reason
why you want to use an OCI based Driver as opposed to the
all Java Oracle thin driver ?There is indeed a valid reason for my choice.
I am currently connecting to the Oracle "Rdb" 7.0 database (located on
    VMS) - not Oracle Oracle.
The SQL Service software we're currently using is version 7.1. This
version works well with the OCI8 driver (when connecting to the
database from Windows NT). This version of SQL Service however does
NOT work for the THIN driver (unless we upgrade the SQL Service to
version 7.1.5.5 - which we're not prepared to do so because it is not
stable enough from our previous test/trials). SQLSRV Version 7.1.5.5
works for THIN driver but it will result in uncommitted
transactions/unresolved connection/stopping of listener issues and
there is a need to restart the service from time to time. Oracle has
since confirmed that this is a bug that they have yet to resolve...
So we have to stick to OCI8 (THICK) for the time being. I would really
appreciate it very much if you can tell me the various OCI libraries
that I need to load (in terms of WebLogic Server config file settings
    etc..).
By the way I have already installed the Oracle 8 client software on
the NT server (where WebLogic Server is) and I have also set up the
relevant SID (using the Net8 Assistant) that points to the Oracle Rdb
database on the VMS. I have also tried using SQL*Plus to connect to
the database and I can connect properly to the database. But WebLogic
simply doesn't seem to load the software.
    Help...

Did anyone came across this issue with Class not being found for XSLT Function used in transformer on 12c OSB.
I'm using oraext:sequence-next-val and have configured as below:
    namespace-uri:http://www.oracle.com/XSL/Transform/java/oracle.tip.pc.services.functions.ExtFunc
    namespace-prefix: oraext
Not sure why at runtime I'm getting below error, as the same was working fine in 11g OSB Domain.
XML-22045: (Error) Extension function error: Class not found 'oracle.tip.pc.services.functions.ExtFunc'

Have you restarted servers after putting jar in $Domain_Home/lib directory? Also try after explicitly adding this jar in classpath by editing server startup script (startManagedWeblogic.cmd or .sh) or in domain env setting script (setDonainEnv.cmd or .sh) and restarting the servers.

  • Class Not found : oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver when calling web service

    Hi,
I have installed the Oracle Data Integrator Public Web Services on Apache Tomcat 5.5 application server with Apache Axis2
When I try to call the web service OdiInvoke using the operation "listScenario" using only the JdbcDriver as input parameter, the response I get back from the web service call is:
    java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: Class Not found : oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver
Using the operator "getWebServiceVersion" I get a successfull response back som the connection seems fine.
Obviously the error has to do with the driver not beeing available but where should I put the driver? Or how do I make it available? When working from Topology Manager, all connections are fine.
    Best regards
    M

Solved it on my own by putting ojdbc14.jar in the following directory: <Apache-Tomcat install dir>/webapps/axis2/WEB-INF/lib/
Thought I'd share in case some one else has same issue

Why are you excluding Oracle built in functions? The results of "Ranking Procedure 2" would appear to just be the result of
SELECT sno, student, marks, RANK() OVER (ORDER BY marks DESC) rnk
      FROM your_tablei.e.
      1  with x as (
2  select 1 sno, 13 student, 50 marks from dual
      3  union all
      4  select 2, 21, 50 from dual
      5  union all
      6  select 3, 12, 49 from dual
      7  )
8  select sno, student, marks, rank() over (order by marks desc) rnk
      9*   from x
    SCOTT @ jcave102 Local> /
           SNO    STUDENT      MARKS        RNK
             1         13         50          1
             2         21         50          1
3         12         49          3I would probably write a custom analytic function to get the results of your first ranking procedure. Though I imagine you could get the same results in pure SQL, a well-named custom aggregate function would seem to be easier to understand (though the pure SQL solution may well be somewhat more efficient).

I can not install Oracle 9i R2 on Win 2000. It failed at 48% with this message.
Error in writing to file C:
    \oracle\ora92\oem_webstage\oem_webstage_8.jar
I tried by copying the 3 disks to my hard drive and reinstall but not success.
    Help me please.
    Thanks
    Ken Wongho

I've been able to install 9iAS on Windows 2000 - I have the Origin database on a Solaris machine.
Your best bet is to have all 3 folders Disk1/Disk2/Disk3 on your computer and the run the install from there. I didn't have the disk space on my computer and ran it from a shared drive.
I'm currently in the post install section trying to Configure cache, and wondering if it's still working or hung up.
The 9iAS Installation took 3 1/2 days to run - I have a 300 Mhz PC with about 380 RAM. The Cache Configuration has been running for over 26 hours.
I don't know if this helps but I hope it does.
I didn't experience any of the problems you have.
    Hope this helps

  • How to know a utility is installed or not in oracle database?

To list the number of DBMS packages
SQL> select * from dba_objects where object_name like '%DBMS%';This will only return DBMS packages (not other packages like UTL_FILE, UTL_ENCODE, ..etc).

  • SQL Developer does not support Oracle 8i

    Hi,
I was waiting a tool from Oracle like SQL Developer for a long time, finally it came, but I am a little disapointed, so Why SQL Developer does not support Oracle 8i? Other free tools like SQUIRREL can do it. I also have worked in previous projects using PL/SQL Developer and it works fine...Why a native Oracle tool can not do it?
I am in a project where we have to upgrade the Oracle database to a newer version, but I cannot have access to the old one...
I know there are some threads in this forum, and some people can work with 8i with no issues. Can anyone who works with SQL Developer and Oracle 8i please tell me how to do it?
    Thanks,

That's what I thought, the issue is more commercial ($$$) than technical. Anyway...I downloaded the version 1.1 but now I am getting an ORA-02248: invalid option for ALTER SESSION error. 00604. 00000 "error occurred at recursive SQL level %s".
    Thanks,

  • ECC 6.0 Installation says you have not installed Oracle but i have done it!

    Dear Friends,
I am a newbie in SAP. I am trying to install ECC 6.0 on a windows 2008 64bit, already i have installed Oracle 10.2 (not using SAP Media-because i didnt find Oracle installation files in the SAP Media we have purchased). after seting the directory of components SAPinst says "you have not installed Oracle, install Oracle and then continue the installation".
    Thanks for your help.

    Hi,
    >> So as I understand, i can find Oracle installation files in 51036975 ZIP file, yeah?
Yes,it is correct. Please read the statement, in the note 1486772 - SAP Systems on Windows Server 2008 R2
To install the Oracle 10.2.0.4 database software,
use the RDBMS DVD #51036975 (ORACLE 10.2.0.4 Failsafe Server 3.4.1.5,
this DVD includes the database and the Failsafe component).
Copy the sapserver.zip file attached to this note.
Unpack sapserver.cmd and replace sapserver.cmd in the following directory:
    <work directory>:\NT\AMD64

  • Cannot execute autocheck DISPLAY variable not set Oracle 10g Solaris 10

Hallo!I am a total Solaris newbie. I am trying to install Oracle 10g on Solaris 10 but when I run the runInstaller,th following error appears
Could not execute auto check for display colors using command /usr/openwin/bin/xdpyinfo. Check if the DISPLAY variable is set. Failed <<<<I have set the display parameters in the oracle user via command
    $ export DISPLAY=joey-solaris:0.0
    The SUNWxwplt is installed.
    How do I resolve this?
    Thanks

    I think its similar to
    $ DISPLAY=workstation_name:0.0
    $ export DISPLAY
as shown from your reference http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/install.102/b15697/app_ts.htm#sthref1226 but still the error appears.
Thanks.Assuming you are connecting to the solaris box from you workstation via telnet or ssh ...
Do you have an x-server (such as Exceed or xming) running on your workstation?
Did you set DISPLAY to the ip of your workstation, not the solaris server?
DISPLAY is redirecting "x" output to the specified location (your workstation), and there needs to be an x-server running at that location.
