SRM 7.0 Help URL

Hi
we are upgrading from srm 5.0 to srm 7.0. On srm 5.0 we have configured to point the 'Help' link in srm to our intranet. On srm 7.0 how can we change the location so that when the users clicks the 'Help' link it opens up an internet explorer session pointing to our intranet.
Thanks
BK

Hi,
In SE80 navigate to Internet Service BBPGLOBAL -> MIME Objects -> Script -> WPINTEGRATION.JS ....
Here you will find ~
function startKwHelpPortal(){
var url = curURLwgate + "/bbphelp/!?language=" + curLanguage + "&client=" + curClient + "&TCODE1=";
helpurl = curService;
You would need to modify this and then also modify the HTML template BBPFUNCTIONS TO pioint to this new JS function.
Best to look at note [779026 |https://websmp130.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=779026]for details on how this could be configured. (The note does not fix your issue but can be used as an example of how to change the link)

Jason

  • Passing Search Parameter to SRM-MDM Through the URL

    Greeting all,
I would like to know how I can pass a search parameter to SRM-MDM using the URL in the web browser. This is needed to display the result directly instead of listing the whole catalog contents.
I am trying to pass a search parameter (Text string) to the catalog through an R/3 SAP system. As a result, it should give only the material that I am looking for.
I tried the "Background Search" as described in the OCI-specification paper but still couldn't get it!
By using the parameters mentioned in chapter 3.2.4 of OCI-specification paper, I did the recommended configuration and use the following URL but still failed to pass the parameter:  http://....&FUNCTION=BACKGROUND_SEARCH&SEARCHSTRING=searchterm
Can anyone help me on that?!
    Regards,
    Yousif

    Hi Yousif,
Why dont u save the search as a named search in MDM and then pass it onto the SRM MDM.
Save the records  as Named search in MDM Data Manager
    For eg:
    Named Search name -->> search1
Now while passing the parameters to the SRM MDM Catalog specify the Named Search in its url.
    http://J2EESERVER:PORTNO/SRM-MDM/SRM_MDM?sap-locale=EN&HOOK_URL=&mask=&namedSearch=search1&username=Admin&password=PASSWORD&catalog=REPOSITORYNAME&server=MDMSERVERIPADDRESS&datalanguage=EN
After passing the named search in the hook url the you will be able to see only the search which was saved in Data Manager.
    Hope dis helps u

  • Using 'A Variable' in "Help URL" instead of file path

    Hi,
When we edit 'Title' Tab of analysis we get options such as:
    1. Title
    2. Logo
    3. Subtitle
    4. Started Time
    5. Help URL
In "Help URL" we can refer a file from an exposed directory (bydefault it's analyticRes). Syntax for refering a file is as follows:
    fmap: Filename OR
    fmap: Custom Folder Name/Filename
But, I want to check if A Variable (eg: Repository) can be used instead for giving path of the file?
    Regards,
    Jitendra

Not Possible..why don't you use the subtitle box instead of help url?

  • Cannot get Help URL to work on WebDynpro Proxy page

    Hello
I have created a WebDynpro iView with the show tray and show help URL enabled. I have entered the help URL as required.
When I add this WebDynpro iView to a normal page, the help URL works as required.
When I add this WebDynpro iView to a WebDynpro page, the help URL does not work.
Can anyone explain how I can get this enabled on EP 7.0 SP 10?
Points will be awarded for a correct solution.
    Many thanks
    Mike

    Hello Lakshmi
I have already got the Show Tray and Show Help radiobuttons switch to on. The problem I have is that the "Help" option is not appearing in the drop down list at all. This is odd because "Refresh", "Open in NEw Window" etc. all appear ok.
I have flushed system navigtaion cache and location cache to no avail.
If you can find the answer to this dilemma all points will be yours :o)
    Many thanks

  • Sap Help Url's

    Hi,
Can any body send the Sap Help Url's for adeobe form function modules individually
i mean individual Url's for function modules
    1) FP_JOB_OPEN
    2) FP_FUNCTION_MODULE_NAME
    3) System generated function module
    4) FP_JOB_CLOSE
    Regards,
    Venkat

Well, not sure if you saw the info here: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/23/17f13a2f160f28e10000000a114084/content.htm
But you can create the IF THEN by using ( ) in the forumla builder:
    Reqt: IF A > B THEN B + C ELSE A
    Formula: (A > B )* (B + C) + (A <= B ) * A
Each expression in the ( ) is evaluated as True or False and accordingly outputs 1 or 0.
    Hope this helps...

  • Help URL for ESS web dynpro applications

    Hi gurus,
I am trying to assign help URL for a standard ESS iView( Record working time).
When i go to the iView properties i have property showhelp. I have the same property for the page record working time.
When i set this property to yes at the page level the help option shows up and whn i set this at the iView level the help option does not show up ( in the right hand corner of the page or iView)
My main question... how do i set up the help url for this help. becuase even for page when i click on help it says "no help found"
I want to give a URL for this help link.
Any thoughts on why this option is not popping up when i set the show help option for iView and how to enable the help URL for iView as well.
Appreciate any help on the same.
    regards
    Sam

The Help option should show up in the iview tray if you set it at the iView level.  Im not sure why that part isnt working for you.
For the iView help, you can set the property URL to Help Topic property on the iview or page.
If your version doesnt have this property, you can use the PCD inspector (available under system administration>Support>Portal Content Directory-->PCD Inspector).  Browse to the iview, click on prop editor, click the Switch to PCM property.  Edit the com.sap.portal.iview.HelpUrl and enter your help url.
    Hope this helps-
    Marty

  • Update tool-tip for customized portal Help URL

I have customized the Help Link in Portal Masthead with our own URL. It works fine. However, when the user moves their mouse over the "Help" link, the tool-tip still shows the original text, i.e. "Display the online help ...". How can I also customize the tool-tip of the customized Help URL?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
you'll have to customize the masthead application. This text is saved in the file:
PORTAL-INF\private\classes\headeriView_nls.properties -> pick the one that matches your language.
The String you'll have to modify is:
HELP_TOOLTIP=Display the online help for more information about the portal
Change it, save the file and create the PAR again (it's only to zip, nothing to compile) and deploy it.

  • To change the SRM help Url to custom URL link

    Hi Experts,
My requirement is to change the standard URL to custom specific URL, the BBPHELP internet service needs to be corrected and all

  • How to use COMPONENT in a Help URL instead of PAGE?

Anyone know how to configure PeopleTools to use the COMPONENT name as the CONTEXT_ID in the HELP link instead of the PAGE name?
In my web profile I'd like to pass the current component name instead of page name.
    http://myhelpserver.com/page=%CONTEXT_ID%
    Thanks
    Graham
Edited by: GrahamSmith on Apr 27, 2010 10:03 AM

the help_url you are using uses a component name default.. u don't call it by page name. ur URL containing .GBL is always a component name...
This is what i would like to explain...
    consider 3 pages P1,P2,P3
    2 components C1,C2
    3 menus M1,M2,M3
then C1 can be linked to P1 and P2...C2 can be linked to P2 and P3...
same way C1 can be linked to M1 and M2... and C2 can be linked to M3(since M2 is already used by C1)
    this should make u clear...
    Thnks!

  • SRM Portal - Search help for a custom field

    Hi,
I have added a custom field to the SRM Portal (5.0) shopping cart, by adding the field to structures INCL_EEW_PD_ITEM_CSF INCL_EEW_PD_ITEM_CSF_SC.
However, I need to filter the search help for that custom field, based on values & relationships stored in a Z table.
Is this possible? How? Please help.
    Thank You.

Currently, my idea would be to create a search help for the custom field & filter the values in a search help exit. However, would I be able to get other field values (standard) from SRM into my search help exit?

  • Browser's helpful URL address bar is not actually ...

In context to S60's default browser. When you start browser, it takes you to deafult Bookmarks page with URL address bar at the bottom of the screen. And there is pretyped URL http://www. to make life easier where we can starting typing main part of the web address.
This is actually not helpful because -
    1) most of the web sites we visit from mobile starts with m. or mobile.
    2) many mail sites start with mail.
    3) and for all those websites which starts with www. can start without even mentioning www (as this has becom norm these days e.g., nokia.com, hotmail.com, ovi.com etc).
Lets visit mobile.xyz.com. Since there is no direct way to go to URL address bar (except long way of going through Options), you type random character on the keyboard, this character gets typed in the bar and cursor is finally there, hit backspace 5 times and then you are ready to type the actual URL.
What nokia should do is change pretyped URL to just http://
Don't you think this is a common sense?
Message Edited by willstay on 11-Dec-2009 10:54 AM

    I agree with you.
It is very confused some time.
Blackbery solved same problem easy. when u open browser default string http://www is already typed and if u pres backspace key (like delete or "C") it will delete www string only. hope nokia will find some solution for it in future

    Hi Cheryl
If you were to post this to a web server and test from there,
I'd bet the URL works dandy. You are probably only seeing the issue
    on your PC.
