SRM MDM Catalogue 3.0 Slave in unknown status

Hi All,
PLease could someone guide me here, I have created a SRM MDM master and slave configuration. the server was restarted and now the Slave repository has a black line through the top and you are unable to syncronize, normalize or perform any functions on the slave.
Kind Regards
                   Grant.

Hi All,
I got the official word back from SAP there is no apparent way to correct the repository, the official answer can be found in th e MDM console reference guide Release: MDM 7.1 SP07 May 12, 2011, under the section BROKEN MASTER/SLAVE REPOSITORIES, to sum it up you need to unload the master repository then normalize it unmount the slave and recreated a new slave from the master.
Kind Regards

  • Best Practice transport procedure for SRM-MDM Catalogue repositories change

    Hi,
I have a question regarding SRM-MDM Catalogue repository change transports.
We currently have two QA servers and to Production servers (main and fail-over).
We are investigating the need of a Development server.
Changes are being made to the repositories on the system, and I see the need of a dev server.
What is best practice for SRM-MDM Catalogue?
With only QA and Prod environments I guess Repository schema transport is the best option, since there has not been created a Refference file (which is needed for change file transport).
    Any other options?
We are running MDM as well, with dev, QA and prod environments. Here we use CTS+ for transports.
Is it best practice to use CTS+ also for SRM-MDM Catalogue transports?
    KR,
    Thomas

    Hi Thomas.
What is best practice for SRM-MDM Catalogue?
SAP recommends to have the landscape model like DEV-QA-PROD.
So in case of catalog as well if we follow the same technique it will help you to have a successful implementation
    Any other options?
As a part of proceeding with the CTS+ you need to create a reference file
Refer the Link: [CTS+|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/d0dd1ae0-36e5-2b10-f8b4-e6365e643c0b?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true] for more details
Is it best practice to use CTS+ also for SRM-MDM Catalogue transports?
It is upto the requirement. if you feel there are many changes in catalog xml schema in various phases in an automatic manner then you can go ahead with CTS+ or you can perform the existing method of exporting and importing the schema to the repository.
    Hope it helps.
    Best Regards

  • Quantity tab is non-editable under ITEM VIEW screen in SRM- MDM Catalogue

    HI,
Implementation of  SRM MDM Catalogue 2.0 SP04 (5.5.64.82) .Need inputs on  SRM MDM Catalogue>shooping cart view >ITEM DETAIL screen
Following two tabs  "Add to Shopping Cart" or "Add to Shopping List"  are not working under "Item View" screen when user trying to add items  by using these two tabs. Some  "java.lang.NullPointerException" error is populating when user clicks on any of these two tabs. Detailed screen shot attached for your understanding
Also, "Quantity" tab is disabled  and seen as non editable field  - (which is greyed out) - we can not place any value into it.
But the "Add to Shopping Cart" or "Add to Shopping List" tabs are working fine under other  screens  views like  "context view" & "List view" .
Seems like it is a product Bug
Need your valuable inputs at earliest as our go-live date is approaching very near
    Thanks & Rgds/Pawan

  • Calling the SRM-MDM Catalogue from SAP PM

    Dear SRM-MDM Experts,
We are trying to call the SRM-MDM Catalogue from ECC 6 Plant Maintenance module using tcode IW31.  We have performed the following config in PM:
    1.     Define Catalogs
    2.     Assign Catalogs to Task List Types
When we create a Plant Maintainance order using tcode IW31, there is a Catalog button on the bottom of the screen.  When we click on this Catalog button, it give us message u201CNo Catalog could be determinedu201D.  What else do we need to configure to make this work?
    Thanks in advance
    Kind regards
    Pedzi

I figured it out.  Issue resolved.  I had to link the Catalog to teh PM order type.

  • SRM-MDM Catalogue Search UI - Qualified table search

    Hi,
We are having the following situation:
    - We have a catalogue of articles
    - We have to tie an article to a location, in addition to a location-specific parameter.
    - Exampe:
Article A is tied to location A, parameter A
Article B is tied to location B, parameter B
Article C is tied to location A, parameter B
    - The way to solve this in MDM is to use the qualified table. I have created one where:
    Location = non-qualifier
    parameter = qualifier
I want to make this searchable in the SRM-MDM search UI.
The user should be able to choose one Location, and then one parameter tied to that Location, to view relevant articles.
This is no problem using SAP Portal with MDM. But how can we realise this using SRM-MDM search UI?
I have tried, but can only get a drop down or text search on the non-qualifier field.
Can anyone please help? Is this even possible?
    KR;
    Thomas

    Hi Thomas,
Is there any possibilities to configure/add code to the search UI, or is this completely locked for customization/altering through code? Unfortunately, I feel it is standard and we can not customize it.
There is no issue in your design but if your location as well as parameter has certain(limited) number of values only. You can create location field in MDM Main table which is lookup to Locations Flat table and similarly for Parameter field lookup to Parameters table rather than using Qualified table. As you can set lookup/Text field search only, so you can set these two fields in your search criteria. where first you search for Location say US it will search records with US location and when you further give search according to parameter it will further filter(navigate) records based on both Location and parameter, just a thought came which i feel to share with you, try it if it helps you.

  • More than 2 dropdown boxes in the UI Configuration/SRM-MDM Catalogue Search

Hi! We know that there is a limit to the number of drop-down boxes we can define in SRM-MDM UI configuration. However, we really have a need for that as there is no variant configuration in SRM-MDM. In this case, we want to allow user to select the colour (dropdown box) followed by size (dropdown box) in order to get the right items (e.g. shirt) to appear. Because we also need to have another field to be drop-down, we cannot do so due to the limitation.
Has anyone found a solution around this?
    Cheers!

  • SRM MDM Catalog ---- SRM

    Hi,
Is there a middleware (Pi) required to connect "SRM MDM" with "SRM" ?
Can anyone explain the integration between these two.
    Points will be given
    Thanks!

    Hi,
In the SRM MDM Catalogue bundle provided from SAP, there are 2 SCA files provided along with the other components. So your basis team need to deploy those SCA files through SDM (Software Deployment Manager) in SRM Portal. The files arovided are for background connectivity of MDM+SRM and the second one is for UI(User Interface) Management. So after deploying the same, your basis team will provide you 1 url which is composite of your server name, port etc.
Paste that URL in Internet Explorer and it will route you to that UI Manager. You should have UI Manager role assigned to your user ID so that you can access the UI. By Default there is 1 user created in MDM as Master with blank password which is used to maintain the UI as it has that role assigned to it.
So when you open that link, it will ask you for server name, password of that server and later User ID of SRM repository and Password. When you login into that, it will show you the configuration done for SRM Portal. There is one button named as OCI (Open Catalogue Interface)mapping. So when you press on that, it will open the OCI mapping sheet where the MDM fields will be mapped to corresponding SRM Portal fields to view the data. By this mean only the connectivity is done for SRM MDM Scenario.
XI is required in only case when you need both the functionalities like you need to use SRM MDM and normal MDM scenario in a single repository. For eg you have one catalogue consisting several materials which are displayed as Catalogue and all the materials which are changed, should be sent to XI to send it further.
Once OCI is done, you need to maintain the webservice in SRM System for accessing the catalogues in MDM directly. For that Masks are created and assigned to that particular user id. In web Service, you need to define the URL, Server Name, Repository Name, Password, Mask etc by which you can automate the process and bifercate the users to access the catalogues related to their country or organisation.
Please let me know in case of any issues.

  • Is Spell check feature currently available in SRM MDM Catalog

    Hi
Can anyone let me know if the Spell check feature is currently available in SRM MDM Catalogue. We are trying to simulate the following scenario:
We want to replicate the Content Management functionality in SRM MDM Catalog so that an external tool is not required prior to Catalogue Admin i.e. the MDM tool covers the current functionality used by us in the existing Microsoft access system including Spell Check, Quality Control.
Is this possible, or do we still need to do this outside the system.
Please let me know, will reward points for the solution without fail.
    Cheers
    Tridip

    Hi,
you can try this. There is a spell checker in MDM Data Manager .Select all records goto edit menu there is an option of spell check.
If u want it at field level then goto field enter a value Right click(on the field itself)-select Spell check.

  • SRM or ECC number vendor number in mdm catalogue

    Hi All,
I have few question regarding Business partner in Catalogue:
1.Suppose for the same vendor, SRM business partner number is different from ECC number, then what would be the business
partner I should maintain in MDM catalogue ? Will it be SRM business partner number or ECC vendor number ?
    2. Suppose I will use external catalogue. Do I need to create the business partner number for the external catalogue vendor in
SRM ?  As external catalogue is for single vendor, how system know about what is the vendor number when select material
        from external catalogue ?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regds,
    Jennifer

    Hi Jennifer
Generally, the Business Partner data in SRM has been replicated from ERP so we expect the same data to be there. But if you create a document from catalog directly in SRM, which in classic scenario is meant to create a purchase order in ECC, but the business partner data is not valid in SRM then it will not create a shopping cart as the vendor is invalid.
For an external catalog, you can either have the catalog pass the vendor number throug OCI or this can be maintained in the catalog customizing where you can define the business partner for the catalog which will be read and used every time this webservice is called.

  • ECC TO SRM-MDM CATALOG THROUGH SAP PI

We have a scenario where we are sending data from ECC to SRM-MDM Catalog through SAP PI and data is coming from ECC through proxy and sending to SRM u2013MDM catlog through file adapter. In ESR part we have used SAP defined standard service interfaces (CatalogueUpdateNotification as sender interface and MDMInfoRecordDataTransmission as a receiver interface). The mapping used is also standard one.
Now we have got requirement to send the data for vendor mat no, manufacturer field of info records from ECC to SRM-MDM catlog.  But we are unable to find out these two fields in standard interfaces/messages. Can anybody guide us how to add these fields in the current data types or is there any other standard interfaces we can use.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Shiv,
    Many thanks for your reply.
Since we're not using XI / PI scenario and this is an upgrade from SRM 5.5 to SRM 7, Iu2019m using the same approach that was already used in SRM 5.5 with CCM 2.0.
The idea is that the catalogue and all the records maintained need to be associated to a contract. So, I add the contract ID and the correspondent contract item in the import file, in addition to the supplier name, product ID, price information and so on. I mapped the contract ID with the field contract price.
In relation to the price information fields, as I want it to be visible for any user that accesses the product catalogue, I tried different approaches:
    1.Using OCI Price information u2013 amount, currency, price base quantity and price base quantity UoM;
    2.Using OCI Price contract u2013 amount, currency, price base quantity and price base quantity UoM;
The first approach didnu2019t work very well, as I was not able to see price information when accessing the catalogue. I could only see it once I transfer the items to the SC. In addition, this approach had one problem. The products were displayed but it was not possible to select the items one by one. To do that I needed to select all the items of the catalogue and after that the detail of the contract ID was displayed in every item, allowing me to choose the items that I want to select to my SC.
The second approach was better as the information was visible when accessing the SC and I was able to select all the items, one by one, as it should be. The main problem of this approach was that Iu2019m getting errors in the SC when the materials have stock u2013 u201CInterface data contains errorsu201D. Or alternatively, if the items didnu2019t have stock, the SC was possible, but when I tried to create a PO from that SC, It simply does not work.
So, can someone help me? Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance.
    Best regards,
    Andreia

  • SRM MDM catalog items not checking back to EBP ("500 Internal Server Error")

    Hi All,
We are having an issue, ONLY with our PRODUCTION environment.
When we create a Shopping Cart and select items from an Internal catalogue, we cannot check the items back into SRM without the system throwing the "500 Internal Server Error" message. As the items never even reach SRM, there is nothing to check or display in the queues for anything even remotely helpful.
As mentioned above, the issue is only happening in our Production environment. We have tested using the production MDM webservice details in our PreProd environment and everything works flawlessly, so the issue very likely arises from our Production portal.
    System info:
We have SRM 7.2; SRM MDM 3.0 and SAP Netweaver portal 7.1.
The users are using IE9 but the same happens on IE8 as well.
We have checked and all MDM applications are running.
We have done all the compatibility checks too given in https://scn.sap.com/thread/1075870  and https://scn.sap.com/thread/1836750 .
    I have attached the logs.
Nothing helped so far, so we are hoping maybe either of you can.
    Thanks in advance,
    Niki

    Hi Jason,
So in the end SAP gave a response that worked.
We actually had to delete the BYPASS_INB_HANDLER parameter and change our URL slightly. That helped and now the items check back in to EBP without issues.
The strange thing is that we still have that parameter in every other environment and yet it still works flawlessly, only causing issues in PROD. We are waiting on a response from them to ellaborate why... I am going to share when they respond.
Thank you for all the help!
    Bests,
    Niki

  • SRM-MDM catalog error - shopping cart preview

    Hi,
I am experiencing the following error in my SRM-MDM (ver 2) catalogue:
When I select an item from the catalogue, it displays that there is 1 item in the shopping cart.
But when I click on the Shopping Cart Preview button, it duplicates the item and doubles the total value??

  • Scenario - ( EC6 - XI - SRM-MDM Catalog )

    Hi,
I am working on Scenario"Transfer Info records and contracts from ERP, Auto Import of contract and info Records from ERP".
    Scenario:
    <b>
    Sender Side:</b>
=>Run Tcode: MECCM in ERP system and send Purchasing info records to Catalog system via XI.
    <b>Recvr Side:</b>
=>Same will be received as XML file in a file location(FTP Server running on SRM MDM catalog system).
    <b>
    XI Side:</b>
=>I have uploaded XI Content in repository and same has been transported to Integration Directory also.
=>Using Intergation scenario configurator i have done all configurations in Integration Directory also.
=>I have configured XPATH in condition field for interface determination as dicussed in SAP OSS Note 967088 to be used for ths scenario.
=>Now when i am running the tcode from sender side message is getting stuck in SXMB_MONI with error: No receiver Determined.
I can understand there is some problem in Receiver Determination. When i tried to check all settings, only thing i found fishy was There was no Interface mapping being displayed in Interface determination but condition field is filled as discussed in SAP note 967088.
I doubt there is some problem in interface determination only.
Expert comments are required. I can send you screenshots if required.
    Any help is appriciated.
    Thanks,
    Vijay Raheja

  • SRM -MDM in classic scenario

    Hi,
Please let me know if am using SRM MDM in classic scenario then
u2022If I create a shopping cart in SRM do I need to maintain the product category of the items selected from MDM in SRM as well.
u2022Also, if PO is created in MM then does it mean that all the products in MDM have to be created in MM as well. If not then what is the scenario like.
    Thanks,
    Manu

    Hi
If my understanding is correct ,i  will reproduce your question again . If you create shopping cart from the supplier catalogue in a classic scenario how the Material group sync happens when PO is created in the Back end R/3.
My assumption and the practice followed generally is that a  Fixed Material group is decided and automatically maintained via OCI interface when shopping cart is created .Which means we define the rule for all catalogue items to determine and populate respective material group automatically into shopping cart.
As shopping cart is created since for the catalogue items there will be contract and source assigned in the ERP ,as soon as PR is replicated to R/3 as per classic scenario , the PR will have supplier assignment and if you run auto order transaction code system will generate PO in R/3 and sent to the supplier based on the condition records.
For the Material group you will configure it in R/3 for all catalogue items and replicate it in SRM and also you will provide input for the BADI or FM which create shopping cart automatically from catalogue through OCI method.
    Hope this helps..

  • Best practices to manage Materials+Vendors in an SRM-MDM Respository?

    Hi Gurus,
I have a functional question about how manage the Master Data of "Materials" and "Vendors" in an scenario of SRM-MDM Catalog (Repository). MDM 7.1, SRM 7.0, MDM-SRM Catalog (Repository) 7.0.
My concern is that this kind of repository has 32 fields aprox. and the majory of fields are referenced to Material information and a little fields of Vendors.
The big question is how load or modeling the information in the Repository?
    Which are the best practices?:
    a) Manage the materials in the main table of the repository and then add other main table to maintain the vendor data?
    b) Manage the materials and the vendors in different repositorys?
    c) Manage the materials & vendors in the same main table in one repository?
I know that part of the solution depends of the SRM Team requiriments, but I would like to know what are the best practices from the MDM Side.
    Thanks in advanced.
    JP

    Hey JP,
    Couple of questions to you.
Do you have Material and Vendor Master in SRM or ECC or BOTH ??
What will be the scenario, Consolidation, Catalogue Management or CMDM??
What will be POC for Mater data?
    Cheers,
    Rajesh
