SSID with preshared key + ISE
Hi,
We have recently implemented Wifi at out site. we have Cisco 3502 AP's, 2504-WLC and the latest cisco ISE. I understand that in ISE deployment, we cant have a preshared key (password or key) for the SSID as ISE will take over the authentication. is that right?
Current scenario:
1. Laptop with wifi enabled will select the SSID in the list. since we have disabled the broadcast, it will be shown as other network in the list.
2. User will the other network and manually enter the SSID string.
3. Once the SSID matches with the WLC, he/she will be redirected to ISE url where the he/she needs to enter the domain credentials
4. After the credentials are validated, ISE (NAC) agent will be downloaded on the laptop.
5. Posture will begin and check for the compliance.
6. If the laptop is compliant, laptop will be allowed in the network else will be rejected.
Here, i would like to have preshared authetiation for SSID in the first phase as my infosec team is very particular about that. How can i achieve that?
Creating Native Supplicant Profiles
Before You Begin
•If you intend to use a TLS device protocol for remote device registration, be sure you set up at least one Simple Certificate Enrollment Protocol (SCEP) profile, as described in Simple Certificate Enrollment Protocol Profiles, page 8-31.
•Be sure to open up TCP port 8909 and UDP port 8909 to enable Cisco NAC Agent, Cisco NAC Web Agent, and supplicant provisioning wizard installation. For more information on port usage, see the “Cisco ISE Appliance Ports Reference” appendix in the Cisco Identity Services Engine Hardware Installation Guide, Release 1.2.
Step 1Choose Policy > Policy Elements > Results > Client Provisioning > Resources.
Step 2Choose Add > Native Supplicant Profile.
Step 3Specify a Name for the agent profile.
Step 4Enter an optional Description for the Native Supplicant Profile.
Step 5Select an Operating System for this profile.
Step 6Enable the appropriate options for Wired or Wireless Connection Type (or both) for this profile. If you enable the Wireless connection option, be sure to also specify the device SSID and the wireless Security type (either WPA2 Enterprise or WPA Enterprise).
Step 7Choose the Allowed Protocol for the device profile.
Step 8Enable or disable other
Optional Settings as appropriate for this profile.
You can create native supplicant profiles to enable users to bring their own devices into the Cisco ISE network. When the user logs in, based on the profile that you associate with that user’s authorization requirements, Cisco ISE provides the necessary supplicant provisioning wizard needed to set up the user’s personal device to access the network.

Same SSID with same Key at multiple facilities
I have 4 881 routers at 4 different buildings. All of them use the SSID Network1 with a key of N3tw0rk1. If a user connects at one facility, he cannot connect at another facility without erasing the wireless connection, then creating a new one with the exact information that was in the original. The 881s are all set up completely the same.
Anyone have any ideas as to why we have to go through this ridiculous process?/* Style Definitions */

For clarification, when you say no connection, do you mean that the wireless client doesn’t associate to the access point or it associates but you can’t pass traffic?
I suspect the issue is going to be with the client and probably related to ARP or DHCP (possibly lease times depending on whether or not the laptop is put to sleep as opposed to shut down), possibly also a setting on the wireless setup on the laptop (on some wireless client software you can define what AP to associate too)
Does turning disabling/re-enabling the radio via the wireless power switch on the laptop fix the problem?
The fact that you’re using different subnets at each site shouldn’t prevent the client associating to the access point component of the router as it’s only a layer 2 device and therefore can only restrict based on MAC address (not IP, the router however can)
Additionally, since rebuilding the client profile to exactly the same detail fixes the problem this would identify that the issue relates to the client not the wireless router. -
Wifi Profiles with PreShared Key
Hey everyone,
I have a client with some pretty basic requirements that would like to see from SCCM/Intune. One of those is the ability to deploy WPA2-PSK Wireless profiles to newly enrolled Intune devices (iOS, Android, and WP8). They would like to deploy
the PSK as part of this process so they don't have to hand out the key to everyone. I see there isn't a way in the interface to configure a WPA profile with the PSK. Does anyone know if this possible any other way?
If not I guess unless your not broadcasting your SSID, what would be the advantage of deploying a WPA-PSK WiFi profile versus the user just selecting the SSID and clicking connect themselves from whatever device they are on? Maybe I am missing something?
Thanks!Hi,
No you are correct it is currently not possible.. The only benefit of deploying the WIFI profile is that the device will connect to it automatically but still you would have to enter the password.

Jörgen

WLC+SSID with PSK/no PSK and ISE with User Banner
We force users connected with PSK to land on Agreement page with click OK to continue option. Nomadix appliance is used for the agreement page. How can we do this using ISE?
The communication with ISE and WLC looks like is through Radius(old NAC was using SNMP) so videos show using 802.1x on SSID and enable NAC.
Quetsion is doesn't this force SSID to use Certs? so how can PSK can come into play?you're mixing a lot of concepts. ISE is both a Radius authetnication server and a posture-assessment center (on radius and not snmp anymore indeed).
Radius is often linked with 802.1x on a WLC, it achieves higher security. It does not necessarily involve certificate if using PEAP for example.
However, if you want to keep your SSID with PSK, it's a different story. What you just need is a login page with an acceptance button right ?
The WLC can do it on its own.
Add a layer-3 security "web policy" of type "passthrough" on your SSID config. It will display a page with an acceptance. You can customize the text or also customize the page and load it on the WLC as well. (WLC config guide for mroe info on those steps) -
How to find SSID and Network Key to setup wireless printer to iMac?
It is easy to find your "SSID" and "Network Key" once you understand what you are looking for. Here is what worked for me when I setup a new wirless printer today:
1) SSID = Your Network Name
Ex. Jason's Wi-Fi Network
Ex. Harry's Lounge
First way to find: on an iMac, go to the top bar on the right side and click on the "wireless symbol". You will see a list of all the wireless networks your computer is picking up. The one you are connected to (if you are able to surf the Internet) is the name you enter when asked for the SSID.
NOVICE HINT: This is the equivalent to walking into a Starbucks and logging onto their wi-fi via their "network name," which has the word Starbucks in it. Some network names will have have locks next to them, meaning they are "secured by a password" and some will not, meaning anyone can access this "free" wi-fi. This doesn't matter either way, it just helps with making sure you have located the list. Of course, it is also possible, if you live in a remote area, that only your network name will show up.
Second way to find: on an iMac, go to the apple symbol in the upper left corner of computer and make sure it says "finder" (if it doesn't, just click on your desktop and it will show up), then select:
go > applications > utilities > Airport Utility > double-click on the image of the AirPort Extreme and the network name will be listed
2) Network Key = Password used to access your Wi-Fi Network
Ex. BMXGuy456!
Ex. Millionare$!!!
This is the password you created when you setup your wireless network, meaning it may not (and should not be for better security purposes) the same password as you use for your Apple ID, email etc.
NOVICE HINT: So if for example a friend came to stay with you and wanted to connect to your "secured wifi" meaning there is a lock next to it, you would give them this password.
EXTRA INFO:
Why do I need this info anyway?
Because just like anyone who wants to use your wifi when they come over, the printer needs to understand what to connect to, therefore it basically needs the network name to know "WHAT" to connect to, and the "PASSWORD" in order to access that network. After much stumbling around, I also discovered this answer. I picked up the 2270DW used, without disc or manual, so downloaded what I needed from the Brother site, but the Brother Mac OSX instructions feel as if they're written by a non-Mac user. I am on OSX 10.7.5, using an Airport wireless unit in Bridging mode (because I have to use a provider's router at the front end of my setup). But once I picked my Airport network name through the Brother Wireless Setup Utility and then typed my network name in the SSID box and my network password in the Network Key box ("es" --- I think the "network key - i.e. password" had to be confirmed a second time) after waiting for the utility to process the information, it worked like a charm.

Lms3.2 passwords & preshared key
hello,
i have added some ASA to my ciscoworks server.
when i look at the config i see that preshared keys are removed and replaced by a star *
i see something like
tunnel-group cisco ipsec-attributes
pre-shared-key *
then i searched some directories for the the plain text config files and it does not contain the preshared keys....
if i try to recover from a disaster with those "backup files" it's gonna be useless
is there any tricks to include preshared keys and passwords to my config files
thanksThe devices themselves are putting these stars in the config (starting in 8.2). The way RME archives the config is to do a "show runn" and extract the config from the output. RME does not yet support the ability to do a copy runn tftp, which would allow the clear text passwords to be archived. However, this undos the security one would get by performing the screen scraping over SSH. Therefore, LMS only uses the "show runn" command to get the config.

DMVPN/preshared key configured and device stolen
Hello,
I have a question on DMVPN solutions where device is already configured with a preshared key and expected to be a part of a network once the device is fired up.
Now what if this device (e.g. router) is stolen and plugged to the Internet? I believe it will establish a connection with a hub router because preshared keys, DMVPN config are matching and is there a solution to prevent this?
I know it is a physical security question however I need to consider this rare scenario.
Thanks,
Deepak AmbotkarThe solution for that problem is to use digital certificates which is a best-practice for DMVPN. For that you can also use an IOS-router as a CA-server.
If you decide against certificates, the you can at least use PSK-encryption. That doesn't help against stolen devices, but helps against rouge spokes when someone can get the client-config.

Is it possible to use the anyconnect client and still use preshared keys? I'm trying to remediate a PCI issue that requires removing IKEv1, and preshared key, and disabling aggressive mode.
Will any of this break Anyconnect? Your assistance in appreciated!Hi,
It is completely possible, You can disable the aggressive mode from the ASA and it will not affect the AnyConnect beacuse it uses (TLS and DTLS protocols)which is completely different from the IPSec.
Now you can disable the aggressive mode as follow:
hostname(config)# crypto ikev1 am-disable
If you have VPN clients IPSec, they will work with main mode if you use certificate authentication only, not using pre-shared keys.
Please don't forget to rate and Mark as correct the helpful Post!

I know this has something to do with INSERT key in Windows I guess. But suddenly I was using Mac OS X Lion and a keyboard sign appeared in the top bar, and the keyboard didnt work as it usually does. I mean, I wanted the long press key to write multiple caracters of course. Please help!
It's now a hidden option that can be turned on with a terminal command. The easiest way to do this is to download TinkerTool from this site:
http://www.bresink.com/osx/0TinkerTool/download.php5
Then go to Tinkertool > General tab > Select "support key repeat".
Logoff and login again.

Issue in Data from DSO to DSO Target with different Key
Hello All,
I am having Issue in Data from DSO to DSO Target with different Key
Source DSO has Employee + Wage + Post numner as key and Target has Employee + Wage Type as key.
DSO semantic grouping works like Group By clause in sql, is my understanding right ?
Also if someone can explain this with a small example, it would be great.
Many Thanks
KrishnaDear, as explained earlier your issue has nothing to do with semantic grouping .
Semantic grouping is only usefull when you have written a routine in the transformation for calculations and in error handling .
Please go through this blog which explains very clearly the use of semantic grouping .
http://scn.sap.com/community/data-warehousing/netweaver-bw/blog/2013/06/16/semantic-groups-in-dtp
Now coming to your above question
DSO 1
Employee WageTyp Amount
100 aa 200
200 aa 200
100 bb 400
100 cc 300
If we have semantic group as Employee . If we have Employee as key of the target DSO and update type as summation .
then target DSO will have
Emp Amount
100 700
200 200
In this case Wage type will be the last record arriving from the data package . If the record 100 cc 300 is arrivng last then wage type will be cc .
2) Case 2
DSO 1
Employee WageTyp Amount
100 aa 200
200 aa 200
100 bb 400
100 aa 300
if we do Semantic grouping with Emp and Wage Type If we have Employee and wage type as key of the target DSO and update type as summation .
then target DSO will have
Emp Wage Amount
100 aa 500
200 aa 200
100 bb 400
Hope this helps . -
I have a Problem with Romming Between SSIDs withing the same WLC but with deferent VLAN .
HI All,
I have a Problem with Romming Between SSIDs withing the same WLC but with deferent VLAN . the WLC are providing the HQ and one of the Branches the Wireless services .
Am using all the available 9 SSIDs at the HQ , and am using only 4 of it at the Brnche.
The problem that i have are happening only at the Branch office as i cant room between the SSIDs within Diferent VLANs but i can do it with the one that pointing to the same VLAN. Once the client ( Laptop/Phone ) connected to one of the SSIDs. it imposiible to have him connected to the other ones with Different VLAN. meanwhile, It says its connected to the other SSID but its not getting IP from that pool.
here is the Show Run-Config from my WLC .. and the Problem happening between the SSID AMOBILE and ASTAFF. i have the Debug while am switching between the SSIDs if needed .

Tx Power Level 4 ..........Well you need to understand the behavior of h-reap or what it's called now, FlexConnect. In this mode, the clients are still remembers on the WLC until the session timer/idle timer expires. So switching between SSID's in h-reap will not be the same when switching when the AP's are in local mode.
Take a look at the client when connected in FlexConnect in the WLC GUI monitor tab. Thus will show you what ssid and vlan the client is on. Now switch to a different ssid and compare this. It's probably the same because the client has not timed out. Now go back to the other ssid and look again. Now on the WLC, remove or delete the client and then switch to the other ssid at the same time. Or switch SSID's and then remove the client. The client will join the new ssid and in the monitor tab, you should see the info.
There is no need to have clients have multiple SSID's unless your testing. Devices should only have one ssid profile configured to eliminate any connectivity issues from the device wanting to switch SSID's.

Crystal Report with Compound Key
Hi,
I have Characteristic with Compound Key in SAP BW 7.0. This Characteristic use to store the Purchase Order Item Line. The Compound Key is the Purchase Order Document.
So I will have the following fields created for this Characteristic:
Compound Key (Purchase Order Document) 5600001982, Purchase Order Item Line 10
I created a Query for this Characteristic and I have the following as result:
10 ...
20 ...
30 ...
All works fine.
Now I created the Crystal Report from this Query. When I display this Characteristic in Crystal Report, I have the following:
5600001982/10
5600001982/20
5600001982/30
Is this a bug or Crystal not support the Compound Key?
Please advise, thank you.Hello,
Did you get this resolved.
Were you able to display characteristics in Crystal without the compounding characteristic.
Thanks. -

BEX - Get Open Items with a key Date
Hi Gurus,
Im working with the Cube and ODS for AR Line items (0FIAR_C03- 0FIAR_O03) and i need to create a report that shows the Open items by Customer with a Key Date.
I did the query that shows all the open items by customer, and i want to know where can i put the filter to input a key date, and only shows the open items until that date.
Thanks in advanced, i really appreciate your helpHi Marcos,
When you have created the Restricted keyfigures for Open Items, You have to add the date characteristic on which you are looking open item and add the variable there. Here you have to use a variable of type Interval and select the operator "<" the date of the Variable. If you go through, there are standard variable for keydate, which you can use directly.
Hope you got the idea

How to change the presets in pop-up menus (CS6 or CR 7, example Photo Filter) with arrow keys an see at the same time the changes on the photo?
It worked under Windows, now I use OS 10.8 and have to apply a preset with a click or Return button but after that the pop-up menu close so I have to open it once again to change a preset. Please help. Thank you!The filter panel is a shortcut for the content panel and it only effects the content of that window. So if you have a folder it will only see this as a folder and not with its content. (a Stack behaves about the same, being different in only counting the first file in the filter panel criteria but not what is in the stack itself)
You have a view work arounds, first is use menu view / show items from subfolders (this can take some time especially if you have not used caching before on this content) and this builds visible thumbs for all content and that can be used for filtering.
Or use the find command (Edit / find) and inhere specify the source and fill in the criteria include subfolders and this will give you the correct result.
When you create a smart collection the find command also pops up given you the same opportunity to get the results in a collection, but since a collection is only a bunch of aliases referring to the originals you might be a bit careful with editing and deleting.
