SSIS Error Code DTS_E_CANNOTACQUIRECONNECTIONFROMCONNECTIONMANAGER

Hi Experts,
I have a package to import data from Excel to SQL tables. I have created and depolyed the package on production server say "ProdServer".
Also I have created job on the same server and it runinng the package successfully. Even I run it manually it is running properly. But
problem here is when I am connecting to SQL installed on the production server from my local machine using windows authentication and trying
to run the package manually it gives below error.
Executed as user: SERVERNAME\SYSTEM. Microsoft (R) SQL Server Execute Package Utility  Version 10.50.1600.1 for 32-bit Microsoft Corporation 2010. All rights reserved.    Started:  7:41:10 AM  Error: 2014-07-15

So in short when I run the packgae direclty from production server it works fine but from local machine or any other machine by connecting
to the SSMS and running manually, it get failed. Please help me guys on this issue. Its very very urgent.
Thanks and Best Regards,

  • SSIS 2012: SSIS Error Code "Excel Connection Manager" failed with error code 0xC0202009.

    Hi,
This is kind of weird issue that I am experiencing with excel connection manager in SSIS 2012. This issue occurs sometimes but when I close and re-open SSDT (SQL Server Data Tools - newer BIDS) then this issues goes off temporarily.
Just FYI, through SSDT environment I executed the package successfully with both settings Run64bit runtime setting to Yes and No when error does not occur.
    So far I have installed
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=13255 (Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 Redistributable).
I still remember for older versions of SQL Server (2005 & 2008) that I have executed Excel connection SSIS packages with Run64bit runtime = false i.e. in 32-bit mode. As far as I know I think Excel 64-bit issue has been resolved with SQL Server
    2012 release.
Here is the detail of error message:

    SQL Server 2012 {Microsoft SQL Server 2012 (SP1) - 11.0.3368.0 (X64) } , Excel 2010 (32-bit). I am developing SSIS code on Virtual desktops with Windows 7 32-bit OS.
Also it occurred to me that since Virtual Desktops are on Shared Infrastructure, the source files and SSIS packages (code) can be on Shared drives for e.g. \\<Corpnet>\userdata\<Corp_Users_Grp>\<Username>\Visual Studio 2010\Projects\Integration
    Services Project2\Integration Services Project2\Package.dtsx.
Does this kind of Shared drives have any impact to give this issue?

P.S.: I had look at this forum question -->
    http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/sqlserver/en-US/903bbe1d-e070-4c43-9d3b-0a5193550029/64bit-error-in-excel-connection-manager-in-ssis

    Hi Arthur,
    Thanks for your response.
Yes, it looks like SSIS still has bunch of issues with Excel files like as follows:
    1) Some times excel source files cannot be parsed by excel source connection manager.
    2) For derive column conversion, we can't replace the existing column. rather, we have to add the derived column as " add as new column" which is tough to manage  while destination mapping.
    3) If an column in excel contains a data which is not of the data type assigned for the column in excel, the excel source reads that data as "null". For the same, we can't validate the data and redirect the erroneous data in reject file.  <-- For
this we tried IMEX setting also
    4) In multi-tab/sheet excel file, excel source is unable to detect a tab and identify the metadata of the excel.
I am also checking Microsoft connect for Excel issues with SSIS 2012(https://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/SearchResults.aspx?SearchQuery=excel#&&PageIndex=22
As worst case scenario, I am thinking of converting Excel to CSV file or Flat text file. (http://www.mssqltips.com/sqlservertip/2772/importing-data-from-excel-using-ssis--part-2/).
Do you think it is advisable to convert Excel into CSV or Flat file.
    Thanks,

My package name in SSIS/BIDS is MY_PACKAGE, but in the error I see MY_PACKAGE_PLUS, which was the name of an older version of the package. This error goes away when I close SSIS and then restart it. I wonder why this happens and how do I fix it
? Is this some bug in SSIS ? The same package runs without errors in SQL server agent.
    Thanks.

It seems the old package reference still exists in your project bin folder or inside stproj file. WHich is why it tries to validate the older package each time when you start  the project.

I saw a MS Connect post https://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/feedback/details/250920/error-using-oledb-or-datareader-to-get-analysis-services-data where that suggestion was proposed as a fix, but is for an older SQL Server version.
So do there is a question if you pull data from SQL Server 2012 SSAS using SSIS 2012 (so no other build is involved).

  • SSIS Error Code -1071607778

Hi, I have a lookup in my SSIS package that looks up the data from a database table and matches it with the data from another table. For example Field A in Table 1 with Field B in Table 2, Table 1 is the transactional data and Table 2 contains the value to refer to.
For some reason, I get error code -1071607778 in the output file when the lookup fails, but the values are in both Table 1 and Table 2.
Has anyone encountered this error before and what does error code -1071607778 mean ?
    Regards
    Ash

I'm surprised you did not get the error description as well. The error event includes a description by default, and the output window or progress window gives full details. The message is "Row yielded no match during lookup."
The point that a match is not found, when you think it should be, still means the data really is not the same. Some notes on how or why this might be - http://wiki.sqlis.com/default.aspx/SQLISWiki/LookUp.html
The lookup is clearly failing to find a match, so you can change the behaviour of this, to ignore or redirect rather than fail if that is better.

  • SSIS 2008 R2 Excel Destination Error, "An OLE DB error has occurred. Error code: 0x80040E21.", cannot export to the new Excel (.xlsx) format

    Hello.
I've been attempting to do a very simple task that just isn't working.  For a Data Flow Task action in SSIS, I am trying to export data from a single SQL Server (2008 R2) database table to an Excel spreadsheet (.xlsx).  No matter what I do, it
just keeps failing.  The columns in the table match the column header names (in the first row) in the tab I select.  Here is the output I get.
    SSIS package "Package.dtsx" starting.
Information: 0x4004300A at Data Flow Task, SSIS.Pipeline: Validation phase is beginning.
Warning: 0x80049304 at Data Flow Task, SSIS.Pipeline: Warning: Could not open global shared memory to communicate with performance DLL; data flow performance counters are not available.  To resolve, run this package as an administrator, or on the system's

Information: 0x40043009 at Data Flow Task, SSIS.Pipeline: Cleanup phase is beginning.
    Task failed: Data Flow Task
    SSIS package "Package.dtsx" finished: Success.
I kick-off the action and sometimes is hangs for a few seconds (20+ seconds) and sometimes it doesn't, but either way it fails.  I tried this on a 32-bit machine, 64-bit machine, and still it fails.  I tried an OLE DB connection to Excel and
that doesn't work either.  I made sure that the connection string for the Excel spreadsheet is Provider=Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0;Data Source=[filepath\excelfile].xlsx;Extended Properties="EXCEL 12.0 XML;HDR=YES"; and still it doesn't work.
Now, when I switch it over to export to an Excel 2003 spreadsheet (.xls) it works!  But I don't want it to go to the old Excel spreadsheet format, my requirement is to export the data to the new format.  Is there a bug in the Access 2010 Database
Engine that won't allow me to export to the new Excel format?  Otherwise, what can I be doing wrong?  I set the Run64BitRuntime property to False and it still doesn't work.
My solution (so far) is to export it to Excel 2003 and then via the Script Task action use the Excel COM API (Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel.dll) for 2010, open the file and save it in the new format (.xlsx) and that works great!  However, the client
doesn't want to install Excel on the database server!  So what can I do when the Excel Destination or OLE DB Destination (to connect to Excel) actions don't work!?  Please help!!!
Like I mentioned, if this is a bug, that would be great to know so I can stop wasting my time.  Thanks again.

Alright, so you mean to say is that the driver is not installed.  Isn't version 12 the 2010 Access Database Engine Driver?  I did install that, and I also tried the 2007 Access DB Engine driver, and both don't work.  What driver am I missing?
The connection string is correctly formatted, yes?
Also, when setting up the OLE DB Destination action and I have it point to the Excel spreadsheet, and I specify as the provider "Microsoft Office 12.0 Access Database Engine OLE DB Provider" and click on Test Connection, the connection is
successful.  Wouldn't that mean the 12.0 version driver is installed?
    Thanks in advance.

  • When I use SSIS for extract from OLAP Database, then the error random occurred,Error Code = 0x80040E05

     I have tired for this!
When I use SSIS for extract data from ssas, that means,I use mdx query.
    then random error occured.
Hope some one can understand my poor English....
And the Error Info show below.
    Code Snippet
Error: 0xC0202009 at Data Flow Task - For Individual User Tech Points, OLE DB Source 1 1 [31]: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_OLEDBERROR.  An OLE DB error has occurred. Error code: 0x80040E05.

Error: 0xC004701A at Data Flow Task - For Individual User Tech Points, DTS.Pipeline: component "OLE DB Source 1 1" (31) failed the pre-execute phase and returned error code 0xC0202009.

I have had the same error on SQL2008 and now on SQL2012 SSIS, but have been able to eliminate / workaround.
We have a Loop Container in our Control flow that contains a data-flow task with an MDX source. The MDX query for the data-flow source is dynamically built (via an expression) on each iteration of the Loop container (however it always returns the "same shaped"
results - only the filters in the WHERE clause are different).
We've found the error to be somewhat intermittent - sometimes the package will complete successfully, other times it will fail with the 0x80040E05 error at varying iterations thru the container loop.
To alleviate the problem we setup the SQL Agent job-step for this package to re-try on failure for up to 5 retries - not an ideal workaround, but it helped to improve the success rate of the Job.
We have no idea why this error is occurring or what is causing it, however it appears to be timing-related in some way and I have only seen the issue when using a SSAS OLE-DB data source with a dynamically generated MDX query. I have managed to virtually
eliminate the error from occurring with a not ideal workaround in the SSIS package - no idea why this works/helps (hopefully Microsoft will be able to work it out and resolve the issue as it's been plaguing us since SQL2008 and is still here in SQL2012
    SP1...
Workaround for MDX causing 0x80040E05 error:
Within our loop container we have added a Script task with OnSuccess precedent constraint to the data-flow task that contains the dynamically generated MDX source query. The script task simply introduces a WAIT in the processing immediately after the
data-flow task completes of about 5 seconds, before allowing SSIS to continue with the next iteration (e.g. System.Threading.Thread.Sleep(5000)).
With this delay in place we have had much more stable SSIS package executions - dont know why, but that's what we havce observed. Also note that when we migrated to SQL2012 SSIS packages the 0x80040E05 error returned, however we were able to eliminate it
once more by increasing the WAIT time to 10 seconds on this script task.
Now waiting for 10 seconds is not an ideal solution / workaround to this problem - particularly when it is contained within a Loop Container (in our case it has added nearly 30 minutes of "WAIT time" to the package execution duration), however this workaround
is better than having the package fail 80%+ of the time...
    regards,
    Piquet

  • EXCEL TO SQL USING SSIS Error

I have an .XLSLX File.  I have a DFD Task to export that xlsx file into SQL. I use SSIS 2008. However when I run the package, it fails with this error below.
[Connection manager "Excel Connection Manager"] Error: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_OLEDB_EXCEL_NOT_SUPPORTED: The Excel Connection Manager is not supported in the 64-bit version of SSIS, as no OLE DB provider is available.

    Hi Desigal59,
The BIDS is a 32-bit software, therefore, only 32-bit providers are visible in the IS design GUI. So, you need the 32-bit Microsoft ACE OLE DB Provider to be installed on your local machine to create the package (using OLE DB Source instead of Excel Source
in the Data Flow Task). If 32-bit Office 2007 or higher is installed on your local machine, the 32-bit Microsoft ACE OLE DB drivers have been installed already, otherwise, you need to install the 32-bit Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 Redistributable.
To run the package in 64-bit runtime mode, you need the 64-bit Microsoft ACE OLE DB Provider. However, the 32-bit and 64-bit Microsoft Access Database Engine Redistributable cannot be installed side by side on a single server. So, if you have 32-bit Office
installed on your local server, you can install the 64-bit Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 Redistributable and run the package in 64-bit runtime mode in BIDS by setting the Run64BitRuntime property to True. If 32-bit Office is not installed, you have
    to install only the 32-bit
Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 Redistributable and cannot run the package in 64-bit runtime mode in BIDS.
After deploying the package to the SSIS server, if you want it to run in 64-bit runtime mode, you only need to make sure the 64-bit Microsoft ACE OLE DB drivers are installed and the 32-bit drivers are not necessary.
Another way to create the package is use the 64-bit SQL Server Import and Export Wizard in which the 64-bit Microsoft ACE OLE DB Provider is available. Then, you can save it as a package to the file system from the SQL Server Import and Export Wizard. In this
way, you don’t need the 32-bit Microsoft ACE OLE DB drivers to develop the package. When you open the package in BIDS, you may encounter errors or the OLE DB Connection Manager works offline, but you can ignore the error and run the package successfully only
if you have 64-bit ACE OLE DB drivers installed on your computer.

When I re-ran the package it worked fine. Any idea why it failed the first time?

    Hi DevCoder,
Have you solved this issue? What's the version of your SQL Server 2012? I would suggest you install the latest Service Pack or CU for SQL Server 2012 to see if this issue still persists.
In addition, please also add "Format=Tabular" in the OLE DB connection string. Here is the sample:
    Data Source=localhost;Initial Catalog=AdventureWorksDW;Provider=MSOLAP.5;Format=Tabular;Integrated Security=SSPI;

  • OLEDB select from Analysis Services fails with error codes 0x80040E21 and 0xC0202009

    Hi,
In IS2008 SP1, I have an OLEDB source component that uses an Analysis Services OLEDB connection to run an MDX statement (set in the "SQL command text" property). This already worked for other cubes with the same MDX statement (apart from different hierarchy
and cube names) in several other IS packages.
But in this package, I keep getting the following errors when executing:
    Error: 2011-12-08 14:12:42.70
       Code: 0xC0202009
       Source: myDataflow myOLEDBsource [190]
Description: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_OLEDBERROR.  An OLE DB error has occurred.
     Error code: 0x80040E21.
    End Error
    Error: 2011-12-08 14:12:42.70
       Code: 0xC004701A
       Source: myDataflow SSIS.Pipeline
Description: component "myOLEDBsource" (190) failed the pre-execute phase and returned error code 0xC0202009.
    End Error
As usual with AS OLEDB, you get warnings for all columns that the data type is unknown and hence set to DT_WSTR(255). This is the case for the working packages and for the non-working one.
And when I click on the "Preview" button in the OLEDB source, I see the three column two row resultset as expected.
As I found some other posts with similar error messages that could be resolved by changing the 32 bit and 64 bit setting, I tried in BIDS 2008 (32 bit) on Vista 32 bit, dtexec 32 bit on the same computer, dtexec 64 bit and dtexec 64 bit on a Win2008 server,
    all with the same results.
SQL Server Profiler shows that the MDX statement is executed without errors when running the package. I do not see any relevant difference between the working packages/cubes and those not working. I re-created the OLEDB source component several times, even
copied it over from a working package, and still have no success.
I even executed the statements in an XMLA sheet in Management Studio with the PropertyList taken from the trace, without seeing anything obvious in the result.
Any ideas what I could do to get this working?
Is there any reference explaining OLEDB error codes?
    Thanks
    Frank

    Hi,
I finally got it working. Re-creating the connection manager solved the issue. There was no difference between the not working and the working connection in the Connection Manager Editor. When I compared on XML source level in the package, I found that the
working version contained Format=Tabular in the connection string, while the not working version did not contain this.

  • SSIS BULK INSERT unsing UNC inside of ForEach Loop Container Failed could not be opened. Operating system error code 5(Access is denied.)

    Hi,
I am trying to figure out how to fix my problem
Error: Could not be opened. Operating system error code 5(Access is denied.)
    Process Description:
Target Database Server Reside on different Server in the Network
SSIS Package runs from a Remote Server
SSIS Package use a ForEachLoop Container to loop into a directory to do Bulk Insert
SSIS Package use variables to specified the share location of the files using UNC like this
    \\server\files
Database Service accounts under the Database is runing it has full permission on the share drive were the files reside.
In the Execution Results tab shows the prepare SQL statement for the BULK insert and I can run the same exact the bulk insert in SSMS without errors, from the Database Server and from the server were SSIS package is executed.
I am on a dead end and I don’t want to re-write SSIS to use Data Flow Task because is not flexible to update when metadata of the table changed.
Below post it has almost the same situation:
    https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/sqlserver/en-US/8de13e74-709a-43a5-8be2-034b764ca44f/problem-with-bulk-insert-task-in-foreach-loop?forum=sqlintegrationservices

Insteresting how I fixed the issue, Adding the Application Name into the SQL OLAP Connection String Fixed the issue. I am not sure why SQL Server wasn't able to open the file remotely without this.
