SSIS FTP - upload files but only partial

Dear reader,
I need some help with the FTP in SSIS package. Its about uploading files to an FTP server (sending files).
First, I store the .csv locally my drive. Then the file-location is stored in a variable and the variable is being called by the FTP connection manager.
Now, the file has a size of about 27KB. However when uploading the file to the FTP server it only uploads a part of the file around 6KB. Why? When I copy manually the file to the FTP server then it works fine, but via the SSIS it does not work. (Even though
with a sleep of about 5 seconds, in case of read-write access is does not work).
Does anybody have a clue why I can not upload the file completely?

The behavior is rather odd. Do you encounter any error message when executing the package? If there are any errors, please post them. You can also execute the package in Command Prompt through DTExec utility, and specify “/Rep V” parameter in the command
line to check the verbose log information.
If no error message is received, I suggest that you perform the following tests to narrow down the cause:
Try to open the 6KB CSV file uploaded by the package to see if you can view some valid rows.
Reduce or increase the data volume in the source CSV file, and check whether the size of file uploaded to the FTP server is changed.
Check the issue with other types of file other than CSV.
Use hard code path for the source file and check the issue again.
If possible, test the issue on a different server that has either BIDS/SSDT or SSIS installed.

Generally I would not use Facebook for sharing any photos, it compresses the photos substantially, and when you have shadows and dark colours you get visible "bands" where there should be subtle gradients, ie at sunsets and sunrises.
It sounds like you are using two methods to upload to Facebook:
1. Sharing from within Aperture, which basically syncs Facebook with your Aperture album, so any changes made at either end gets synced, hence the deletions from Albums, although the original file should still be in your library, just removed rom the album. It is like a playlist in iTunes.
2. Exporting pics and uploading to Facebook from the browser.
I am not sure how method 1 gets compressed, but I know that uploading hi-res jpegs to Facebook using method 2 results in poor quality images.
I wouldn't even bother comparing option 1 or 2, and they will both be poor images once you view them on Facebook, as opposed to viewing uploaded images on proper image sharing / hosting sites.
Your problem is not with Aperture, it is using Facebook for showing your work.
If you export pics form Aperture at high res jpegs or TIFFs your images will be fine.
If you insist to use Facebook as your way to share your work, then your workflow should be this:
1. Right click images you want to share.
2. Select Export version.
3. Export as 100% size and ensure the export settings are set at 100% quality.
4. Upload this pic into Facebook.
This will get you the best image size and resolution on Facebook.
See how you go.

One File (But Only 1) shows as an icon in List View of a Finder Window

Finder windows has one inconsistency, but only for this one file, which is a JPG photo. In list view with the option to not show thumbnails (under Command J) Then I get generic JPG badges for each file. If I select: "Show as Icon" then I get a small photo icon for each photo. So far, so good. The problem is with one individual photo file. It always shows as a photo icon, regardless of how I set the checkbox for Show as Icon within a finder Window by sing Command J. So the problem seems to be with that individual file by itself. Using Command I for Show Information on the individual files does not give me any options or clues about how to control the presentation of the icon on its individual files.
Looking at the same image but with different file names or paths, then everything is normal and as it should be. The simple answer is simply erase the "goofy" file and replace it with a new version, but I want to understand what the OS is doing. The same issue with the same file was under OSX 3 and 4. I have 10.6 Snow Leopard now, but the issues was there with Tiger and so on.
An ideas?

It always shows as a photo icon
It sounds as if the file has its own custom icon, which is different from the "icon preview" that the system constructs on the fly when a custom icon is not present and you have also checked the "show icon preview" box in View Options. If you want to remove a custom icon, do a Get Info on the file, click on the icon at the top left to select it, and hit command-X.

Canother when them from another application eg imovie? 150 files but only 30 show.

Aperture 3 help please. Can anyone tell me why I lose photos from files when trying to access them from another application eg imovie? file may have 80 photos but only 20 might be seen in application.

Do you mean from folders, albums, or projects?
How do you access your Aperure images from other applications? Do you show Aperture in the Media Brower?
Then you need to ensure that Aperture renders previews for all images you want to access externally. Check your settings in the Aperture Preferences -> Previews and enable "Share Previews ..." and "New Projects automatically generate Previews". If reviews are missing for older imports select the images, ctrl click and "Update Preview".

Site Owners not able to upload files in only one library

Although my colleagues are site owners, they cannot upload files in one specific library (other libraries they can).
What might be this problem. Has anyone encountered it? Please help.

I checked and it had unique permissions set on the library. I gave access to the two users access separately and it worked.

How can I create a file in iMovie with a lengthy audio file, but only 1 picture?

Let me state first off that I'm a blind user using the Voiceover screen-reader in OS X.
Now, I want to upload some audio to Youtube, but they do not allow simple MP3 files. As such, I want to create a file in iMovie with my audio and 1 picture to use as a visual. Within iMovie, I add my audio file, select a picture, but when I publish, the audio is cut off after only a few seconds. Can someone please explain how I can fix this issue so my entire audio clip will play?

iMovie is a visual medium, so you need to make the duration of your photo at least as long as your voiceover track. You should be able to double click on your photo and then enter a duration.

An MP3 file may work for you, but for best results, use a WAV or AIFF file (uncompressed). You can convert MP3 to AIFF in iTunes. Let me know if you need instructions.

'Save Medadata to file' - but only some?

Hello, I read an Adobe Lightroom discussion from November 2011. I am looking to start using Lightroom (have been using capture nx2) but need something answered please:
It stated that 'Save Medadata to File' will copy most but not all of the metadata changes that you have made within Lightroom', which got my attention, and seemed a bit worrying.
It suggested that this problem was for both proprietary raw formats with xmp sidecar files, and dng files (also TIFF etc I think). I also understand, or think I do, that it's only a problem
when you export from Lightroom to another editing program (or photoshop at least). I also read something similar on a recent post here, but I didn't find it very clear.
The problem is that some things are not included in the metadata write command....the develop history, stacks, collection membership, flags, virtual copies.
All of these things, apart from maybe flags, I need, and can't imagine that I can't use these important options, so I really must be missing something. And surely I would need to save the
metadata to file to send images to NIK software etc for further editing. I read it that if you stay in Lightroom there is no problem, as I think the catalogue has all the metadada, but that
won't happen, or not all the time.
I don't understand this, and can't quite believe it, so would be most grateful for advice, thanks

I don't know why. Perhaps you might be able to clarify why this might be a problem, if that's what it is - I mean in what circumatance(s)
might this be a problem?
I just presumed that it might prevent me, within Lightroom to use these features - or did they mean that they would just not be available
to someone I might send the files to, or whatever?
I will just need to edit files in Lightroom (I will be changing my NEFs to DNGs, editing in Lightroom, using NIK software/maybe other
software too, and sending photos to a website such as Zenfolio, and also to a printer or whatever)
I suppose you could say that the post I read alluded to a problem, but didn't explain (or I didn't understand) what the effects would be, at
least as far as I am concerned). I mean they didn't say 'this is, or could be, a problem because.....'

AI CS6 (16.0.4) Symbols lose transformations upon reopening file - But only visually

I've created a series of images utilizing symbols.
Basically the images are of a box. Each side of the box has different content.
I create the side content flat with an encompassing rectangle.
Drag all this to the Symbol Panel to create a symbol (no 9-slice no align to grid set).
I then take a symbol instance and use Object > Envelope Distort > Apply with Mesh - 1 row, 1 column
and proceed to transform the symbol into position on the packaging.
This works.
I can easily double-click the symbol and edit the side of the package with no problem. Exit symbol editing mode and the symbol instance(s) update. Perfect.
Until.....
I close the file. Return to it 12-18 hours later and open it to see that visually my symbols are no longer positioned correctly. I click, the symbol/emvelope is still in the correct position, but the preview on screen shows no transformation. This incorrect visual appearnce translates to print and save for web as well. So it's more than simply an inaccurate preview. The symbol has actually broken out of its container incorrectly.
To explain further.
When I save the file it looks like this:
The grey box indicates the symbol/envelope bounding area.
When I reopen the file the next day it looks like this:
The symbol/envelope is still in the correct position but the symbol contents are completely incorrect. There seems no way to reset the symbol other than to delete what's there and redo the transformations.
There is nothing overly complicated about the artwork within the symbol. It's all text or line art, no effects or transformations within the symbol itself.
Any idea what's going on? Is this just a major bug?

Note that I can close and open the file repeatedly and things are fine. It's only after several hours of the file sitting that it suddenly appears incorrect.
For example, I worked on these 8 files between 11am and 1pm yesterday opening and closing them many times without issue. At noon today I went to reopen one and noticed this issue and checked the rest of the files to find them all incorrect. I then checked my nightly backups... Backups are incorrect as well.
All files are saved as AI CS6 (native).
The Mac OS Finder preview still shows them as correct, even though they aren't.

Double click on icon not open file but only Photoshop

I have some problems with Suite CS6 Master Collection on W7 os.
1. After I installed the Suite CS6 Master Collection the psd file were not associated with software
2. I manually associated psd files to Photoshop software, the classic icon did not appear but appeared icon "Photoshop Plug-In". When we click on file psd, Photoshop starts but not open the file
3. again, if I associate psd file and Photoshop icon, the file opens correctly once, then when I reopen psd file or restart my pc, the icon will automatically return "Photoshop Plug-In" and only open software.
4. I discovered if I don't change associated icon files psd opens correctly.

I have this exact same problem - I use WIN 7 and FF 3.6.13 - no one believes what I am seeing (except you :>) ) - hopefully someone will be able to respond with a solution
I have uninstalled FF and re-installed same problem
The FF WIN 7 taskbar preview shows the correct display and when I click it I get a flash and it appears to go off right side of screen

Duplicate Copies of Music Files (but only one in Library) HELP!

I have a "missing" 13 gigs or so on my hard drive, and I was trying to figure out what the problem was.
I thought it might have something to do with my music b/c that is about what I have on my iPod......soooo, I went a did a search to see if I had the files in two places.
My search results (just did a search for all music on the computer) show that I have two of the exact same files for all my iTunes music...each in the exact same location.
In my iTunes, it just says I have one of each, though.
I tried deleting one of the duplicate files to see what would happen, but then the song wouldn't play (got the little !mark).
Has anyone else gone through this? (I've done searches, but I can't seem to find the answer)
I'd really like to get rid of any superfluous files!

What happens when you restore that file and then delete the other file for the same song?

Just an update... A rep contacted me and we did a screen share. They were convinced that I wasn't full of <insert proper word here>. They promised to get back to me in a few days, and now? A few months later? Nothing.
Still no files. Still no correction... Still no nothing from Adobe.
The person I spoke to was kind, saying he'd make sure I got CC for free for a while...
Still though, no follow up.
Adobe, are you going to correct this or just let your customer suffer at your mistakes?

Firefox downloads and opens .doc file, but only downloads .docx files; would like to open both types automatically.

Is there a setting so that the .docx files open automatically just as do the doc files?

Apple tv not playing Mac downloaded shows properly. Streaming pauses and message says program will be ready for viewing in 1 hour or often longer. Why is this if show is already on Mac and home sharing is turned on?

Import word files in InDesign but only Form Text or selected styles

Hi Guys,
I have this magazine I design a few times a year and the articles are sent to me as word-files with tables they have to fill in in order to know who the author is, what the title will be etc.
I would like to find a way to easily import the content of their articles etc. in Indesign and I found out that importing Word files is simple as goodbye. Me happy!
But now I constantly have to copy-paste their article text out of the table and paste it elsewhere in the InDesign file, so I thought: isn't there a possibility to, while importing the word file, select what styles should be imported (so that the instructions I put in the template for their word articles for instance won't be put into the InDesign file but only the forms they fill in) or can I setup the importing of it to only import the form field text (if the word file would be set up as a form with protected items fields they can fill in?).

I am using indesign CS2 and i'm trying to import a Word document into a new chapter for a book i'm laying out. it's about 30 pages, but there are at least 80 foot notes. i'm able to get about 1/2 of the document with the footnotes to flow correctly, then EVERYTHING disappears. the only way i've been able to get the remaining text to appear is by adding characters to the text. i'll hit "vvvvvvvvvvvv" a bunch of times and "magically" a little chunk of text and it's footnotes appears. then the ole disappearing act happens. so i do it again. i'm able to get all the text to appear finally, but when i delete the "vvvvvvvvvv" from the places i inserted them, the text disappears again. i have no idea why this is happening or how to fix it. any ideas?

Photo upload file permissions?

Hi,
My website will give users the option to upload photographs which will be displayed on the website.
Before a user can do this they must register or be logged in to their account.
I will be using a shared hosting environment.
My script does check the file size and type and only allows .jpg .gifs and .png.
I need to set global permissions, is there a way of defining a registered user as the owner so that I only need apply owner permissions of 700 rather than setting at 777?
My other concern is that the files that I upload the photos to is also the one that I link to from my web pages to display the images, should I be copying the uploaded images to another file then linking to that one to display the images?
Hope I am making sense.

Just to clarify your helpful comments, there are two comments that I am not fully understanding.
Firstly yes I am allowing registered users to upload through http protocol.
And yes the files that are being uploaded to will be under website ownership.
As it will be shared apache hosting I need to set read write and execute permissions to allow the upload script to perform, which I have to do using chmod and assigning restrictive permissions if possible.
Your comment: As long as the scripts performing the uploads are within the SAME ACCOUNT....
The script is just there within the page, a user registers their details and then is allow to go to the page that upload information to the database and photos to the upload script, returning users, after log in is verified, are also allowed on the page that upload photos, DOES THAT MEAN THEY ARE WITHIN THE SAME ACCOUNT AS WEBSITE OWNER?

I wanted to apply permission the the upload files but I thought the 'status' of my users would be like 'general public' I guess that ties in with the last comment about account ownership, for what ever reason I was thinking that a user, even if registered, would be just like a a public person and for them to be able to use the upload scripts I thought that I would need to somehow tell the files that this person was the 'owner' so that I could apply 700 permissions to the actual file rather than 777 permissions, I was trying to find a way to use a more restrictive permission level ( sorry if I didn't explain it well).
So I am getting this right, I do hope so! A user on my website who is using the upload scripts has ownership permissions, so if I set the permissions on my upload file to 700, it will allow read, write and execute permission for the file and I don't need to set the status of my users to 'owner' they just will be as such the 'owner' because they are using the script?

As long as the scripts performing the uploads are within the same account, there should not be an issue, and you should be able to assign more restrictive permissions than 777. Why do you feel you need to assign apache permissions to individual users? (which you can't do anyway, using http) It would be pretty easy using sessions and PHP to keep user files separate from each other in unique folders. But if users will use the FTP protocol, the situation would be very different.
