SSIS package fails when Configuration value has value saved into the package

when a package is migrated from dev to QA and to PROD sometimes it fails since the variables have values in them saved into the package.
what we do is clear these values manually and restart the job.
Is there a way we can clear the variables when saving the package or at least programmatically?
eddy.a

Hello Arthur
Thank you for your response. I should start by apologizing by not making myself clear. We do use indirect configuration that work cross environments however this is the issue that we have:
when the package is first created say you create a DB Variable called A and you enter value A in the variable to test the package. After the package development is tested, you change the configuration values to fetch data whether from an excel file or from
an XML.
when you run on environment A the package runs fine however when you move over to environment B it seems that first it validates against A then overwrites B - if environment A is not there anymore the package sometimes fails.
we are changing these manually for now but I was wondering if there's a way to prevent it.
thanks

  • What should be stored in the DB when a special char is saved into the db?

    Hello,
We have a 9.2.0.6 DB with charset as UTF8. We are putting the special character 'अ' into the database through a j2ee application. The application stores and displays the special character properly.
    My question
    1) When the special character is stored in the database, what should it be stored as? Should it store the HTML Entity (decimal) value - अ or should it store UT-8 (hex) value - e0a485?
    2) When the data is viewed through a different application, it displays &32309; instead of 'अ'. Both the applications are almost similar. Any pointers on what need to be looked into would be appreciated
A few details on the special character 'अ'
This is a Hindi letter - Devanagari letter A
The URL below has all the unicode information on this special character

  • I have a production mobile Flex app that uses RemoteObject calls for all data access, and it's working well, except for a new remote call I just added that only fails when running with a release build.  The same call works fine when running on the device

I have a production mobile Flex app that uses RemoteObject calls for all data access, and it's working well, except for a new remote call I just added that only fails when running with a release build. The same call works fine when running on the device (iPhone) using debug build. When running with a release build, the result handler is never called (nor is the fault handler called). Viewing the BlazeDS logs in debug mode, the call is received and send back with data. I've narrowed it down to what seems to be a data size issue.
I have targeted one specific data call that returns in the String value a string length of 44kb, which fails in the release build (result or fault handler never called), but the result handler is called as expected in debug build. When I do not populate the String value (in server side Java code) on the object (just set it empty string), the result handler is then called, and the object is returned (release build).
The custom object being returned in the call is a very a simple object, with getters/setters for simple types boolean, int, String, and one org.23c.dom.Document type. This same object type is used on other other RemoteObject calls (different data) and works fine (release and debug builds). I originally was returning as a Document, but, just to make sure this wasn't the problem, changed the value to be returned to a String, just to rule out XML/Dom issues in serialization.
I don't understand 1) why the release build vs. debug build behavior is different for a RemoteObject call, 2) why the calls work in debug build when sending over a somewhat large (but, not unreasonable) amount of data in a String object, but not in release build.
I have't tried to find out exactly where the failure point in size is, but, not sure that's even relevant, since 44kb isn't an unreasonable size to expect.
By turning on the Debug mode in BlazeDS, I can see the object and it's attributes being serialized and everything looks good there. The calls are received and processed appropriately in BlazeDS for both debug and release build testing.
Anyone have an idea on other things to try to debug/resolve this?
Platform testing is BlazeDS 4, Flashbuilder 4.7, Websphere 8 server, iPhone (iOS 7.1.2). Tried using multiple Flex SDK's 4.12 to the latest 4.13, with no change in behavior.
    Thanks!

After a week's worth of debugging, I found the issue.
The Java type returned from the call was defined as ArrayList.  Changing it to List resolved the problem.
I'm not sure why ArrayList isn't a valid return type, I've been looking at the Adobe docs, and still can't see why this isn't valid.  And, why it works in Debug mode and not in Release build is even stranger.  Maybe someone can shed some light on the logic here to me.

    Hi,
I would like know if there is any timestamp feature in Project Server 2007, so that it can be possible for Project Managers to know when a task has been updated for the last time.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
If you are using the My Tasks to drive the task updates then you can use the 'Applied Requests and Errors' available under 'Go To' in the Task Updates area. Here the PM can find when requests have been approved and how many updates he/she received for a
particular task (by clicking the task name) etc.
    Hope this helps

Gordon, it looks like its been a while since you made this post.  Not sure how valid it is now...   I am particularly interested in the LigatureLevel.NONE value.  It seems that it is no longer supported.
How do I turn of ligatures in the font rendering?
My flex project involves trying to match the font rendering of Apache's Batik rendering of SVG and ligatures have been turned off in that codebase.  Is there any way (even roundabout) to turn ligatures off in flash?
    Thanks,

When I download firefox, using recommended setting, or my own, all the sub files/folders like plugins, modules, updater end up on the desktop as well as in the file location. And when I try to put them into the file location, they don't. And when I delete them, FireFox won't open. I tried deleting FireFox and reinstalling it multiple times, and a message pops up sometimes that says FireFox may not have installed correctly, so I follow the steps, but all the extra icons on my desktop don't go away. This has happened every time I have downloaded FireFox. The browser itself works, but I need to know how to get rid of these icons, but still be able to use FireFox. Also, when I do try to drag it out of the Trash to put it back into Applications (on the Finder sidebar), it asks me to authenticate with the administration password.  I enter it, and then a window appears saying that I can't do that because I do not have permission to modify iTunes.  Please help.

  • Anyone Seen this Message Before "Configuration changes for domain saved to the repository."

I'm running into this situation where one of my WLS servers is generating the following
messages "Configuration changes for domain saved to the repository." This process
of saving to a repository is causing an issue on start-up. Typically my deployments
take 2-3 minutes on start-up. They are now taking 10 minutes. I've made no changes
to my application. I've been able to identify that this process of saving to a
repository is the main issue of contention....
Anyone know what the message means? Anyone know how to disable this message?

This is just WebLogic writing back changes to config.xml, which it does from time
    to time for reasons like:
    - your app deployment has changed.
    - you've reconfigured something in the console.
    etc...
WebLogic just spins this off into a handy execute thread, so it would be surprising
if this was causing your app deployment to slow down (how do you know it is).
In my experience, slower than normal app deployments are usually down to:
    - waiting for database connections.
    - waiting for connecitons to other external resources.
Remember (in WLS6.x anyway) initialisation is done serially on the main thread,
so if something's slow, everything gets blocked behind it.
